Cardinal Says: Communion in the Hand Increases Risk of Sacrilege
Italy's Churches Are Confronted With a Rash of Eucharist Theft
Rome (kath.net/pl) The Catholic Church in Italy has been confronted for months with the theft of Holy Eucharist. It involves broken tabernacles, pilfered ciboria filled with consecrated Hosts as well as the abuse of communion in the hand, in which some put the Holy Eucharist in a handbag for unknown purposes. The motives of the perpetrators are discussed: deliberate sacrileges by Muslims? Or for use by Satanic cults in black Masses? This was reported by "Vatican Insider".
The Catholic community foresees itself as being forced to take countermeasures. In some areas the tabernacle is emptied and left open, in order to guard against theft. The almighty Himself will be kept in a more secure place, so in the meantime He must be stored in a safe, offers "Vatican Insider." Salvatore Di Cristina, Archbishop of Monreale,. Sizily, has already favored a "hard line" against the criminals.
The Cardinal and canon lawyer Velasio De Paolis explained that sacrileges against the Eucharist are among the most serious of offenses and that these crimes receive the condemnation of excommunication "latae sententiae", which can only be lifted by the Holy See. De Paolis holds that even communion in the hand offers an increased risk that the Eucharist can be taken away, profaned or kept for a sacrilegious purpose.
The list of offenses is long. Two Muslims received the Eucharist from a priest in Sondrio, but they didn't consume it, rather put it in their hand bags. According to information from police reports, there is a boom in satanic cults. Filled pyxes, for example, have been stolen in San Giovanni in Bosco/Vasto, filled ciboria in San Vio/ paestum, consecrated Hosts disappeared from the hospital Church of Biancavilla/Katania, the community of Santa Caterina dello Ionia was the target of a night-time attack. Here and in many other Eucharistic thefts, empty tabernacles, which have been violently forced open with burglar's tools, is the order of the day.

Another Homosexual Affirmed on Parish Counsel in Austria
Edit: take note of the people who defend ++Schoenborn and downplay his erosion of the Church's authority.
(Kreuz.net) The homosexual Markus Casna (44) has been selected for the third time as Parish Counsel.
Fabulous! |
This was met with celebration by the online edition of the anti-Church Austrian newspaper, 'Standard' yesterday.
The Parish Provost, Micheal Blassnigg (51) has "no problem with it".
He is a secular priest from Niedernsill, which borders on south east to Kaprun.
The Put Themselves on the Way to Hell
Casna has been living since he was 19 with another homosexual together in open sin -- which calls to heaven for vengeance.
Two years ago he had his atrocity registered by the decadent state.
"All men are equal before God", explained Casna -- and dismisses the fact that unrepentant homosexual sinners go to Hell.
Homosexually troubled people have turned the decadent Conciliar Church on its side: "Parish Provost Blasnigg and also Parish Director Toni Fersterer support me."
A Dean Persuaded the Homosexual
In 2001, the Dean (75) spoke with Casna.
He told him that would like to see him as Parish Counsel: "He knew then that I was in a homosexual relationship."
Casna let himself be persuaded.
A Boil Swelled
The homosexual made no secret of his devilish anti-Catholic disposition:
"Confession was invented in the Middle Ages, and celibacy is an invention also of the Roman Catholic Church" -- he blathered.
The Disobedience Initiative is "on a good path".
He is confident that the "breakthrough" will succeed.
This homosexual is also enchanted by Vienna's homosexual pornography Cardinal.
That the Cardinal spit in the face of the Gospel and blessed a homosexual parish administrator is for Casna, "practically an Easter gift".
In the Conciliar Church, the Catholic is Stupid
The Civil Pastor Blassnigg praised the homosexually troubled Casna in the highest tones.
On the other hand he is damned by Pastor Gerhard Swierzek of Stutzenhofen. [Who recently resigned when he was overruled by ++Schoenborn]
"If you don't deal with homosexuality, that is the smartest."
A Conscience-Free National Socialist Legal Positivism
Fr. Blassnigg sees the Cardinal in a positive light:
If one sees "the man", one sees things differently -- he distorted.
He presents a conscience-free legal positivism: "canon law will eventually change, it just takes longer".

The Society and Rome on Verge of Agreement
This is Rorate's translation of the usual article from Liberal Le Figaro:
Rome and Écône on the verge of reaching an agreement
by Jean-Marie Guénois
The signing of a document establishing the relations between the Holy See and the disciples of Abp. Lefebvre is a matter of days.http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif
Officially, the Vatican awaits the response of Bp. Bernard Fellay, the chief of the Lefebvrists. As soon as it is received in Rome - "it is a matter of days, and no longer of weeks", - it will be immediately examined. If it conforms to expectations, the Holy See will very quickly announce a historic agreement with this group of faithful, known under the name of "integrists".
But unofficially, and with the greatest discretion, emissaries have worked, from both sides, to "reach an agreement". In the past few weeks, the final adjustments have been concluded between Rome and Écône in order to better respond to the demands of "clarifications" asked for by the Vatican last March 16.

Warner Bros Shuts Down Gibson Film: Should Anyone Care?
April 11, 2012,
By Sharon Waxman and Brent Lang
TheWrap
Exclusive -- Warner Bros. has put on hold a controversial Mel Gibson movie project about the Jewish Maccabee revolt in the 2nd century B.C. after reading the script by writer Joe Eszterhas, TheWrap has learned.
A spokesman for the studio told TheWrap, "We are analyzing what to do with the project."
Jewish groups were outraged after news broke in September that Gibson had reached a production deal with Warner's to direct the story of Judah Maccabee, whose victory over Greek and Syrian armies is celebrated at Hanukkah. One Jewish group called it "a moral lapse in judgment."

Blasphemous "Ale Mary" Bar Owner Uses Racial Slurs?
Update: there will be a peaceful Rosary Procession, starting in front of "Ale Mary's" Bar starting at 2pm and going around the block. All of good will are invited to attend.
[Baltimore, EF] There is a bar in Fells Point, Maryland where sacred objects, some apparently purchased on e-bay, are being used in disrespectful and blasphemous ways by the bar owners and patrons of the bar.
The twelfth canon of the Œcumencal Council of Lyons (1274) pronounces excommunication ipso facto against those lay persons who seize and detain the temporal possessions of the Church (see Friedberg, "Corpus Juris", II, 953 and 1059) and the Council of Trent followed suit in its Sess. XXII (De ref. C. xi) by launching excommunications latæ sententia against those who usurped many different kinds of ecclesiastical property.
Since the owners identify themselves as "brought up Catholic" it might be that such excommunications do not cause them any fear, but it does implicate them in an ecclesiastical crime, in addition to their violation of positive divine law, or more precisely the 2nd Commandment.
Tom Rivers has claimed in various interviews he's given to the national press that he bears no malice to those who are concerned about the blasphemy taking place in his bar. It would be an encouraging sign if that were the case, but it's a lie. The owner has accused the one individual who's made the complaint of being a liar and those who are concerned about his transgressions as having a "screw loose" or "cowards". He even went so far as to spend the money, or illegally obtain the information through other sources, to check on the financial status of protest members.
Obviously such statements like this are not the mark of a person who wishes well or "doesn't care":
Sucks don't it jen!!! Go back to your little post the other day with pic of the
menu box outside. Sounds familiar doesn't it?? And I own the place... I have put
my time in behind the bar, I shake hands and kiss babies now. My time is my own
to do with what I like. I pay my bills unlike some people that we have here in
this thread. I wont say who ... It's not you though jen.
Yet it's not just Tom River's rudeness, and alarmingly rude behavior, it's his apparent penchant for using racial slurs and attacking his customers and using a racial slur. This review which we found on the restaurant review site Urban Spoon appeared on March 8th 2011. It's strange that more hasn't been made of it, but the description sounds remarkably like the brash and arrogant work of the Tom Rivers. At this point, we've contacted the reviewer "CraigOlney" who made the review. It certainly sounds a lot like the bar's owner and many of its patrons:
What an awful experience at this place, some friends said to check it out, so myself and a couple people did. Well, after waiting for over 30 minutes for someone to wait on us, a server did come by to get us drinks, that took another 25 minutes, we asked to speak with the manager, well a stocky man with a head way too big for his body came out to say he was the owner, he told us that if we didn't like the way he runs his bar at his own pace then we can go "F" ourselves, then tells us that we had better not think about taking one step outside without paying or he will have us thrown in jail with all the "N's". So, we dropped our cash, had to hold back my one buddy from knocking him out, and left. Worst experience ever in a Baltimore establishment, this guy is a blatant racist and should have his bar shut down. What an eyesore on Baltimores great restaurants. Never will myself or anyone I know spend a dime with that bigot.
Comments closed till further notice because of the ill-will and hatred spewing forth by close-minded patrons, and probably the owner too.
This review has been in existence since 2011. Apparently, it's stood the test of time, and it certainly does create a strikingly accurate portrait of the owner and his insensitivity to minorities. I'm sure the people he allegedly assaulted weren't black too. He apparently only attacks people who won't fight back.

Austria: Homosexual Counsel Member's Pastor Resigns
The clergyman stressed that he has a priestly conscience and respects divine and ecclesiastical law -- in opposition to the Viennese Porno-Cardinal.
Modernist Monastery Appoints First Lay President
Considering that Collegeville has lost 11 monks in the last three years, it's a little difficult to make much hope out of the four novices they've received recently.
They're clearly not replacing their losses, and it has also been suggested that they are suffering financially as well.
A big step in that direction just took place today as St. John's hires a layman to lead its University who demonstrates no palpable Catholic bona fides. Where does he go to Mass? Is he Catholic? We contacted the modernist monastery's president's office and they didn't seem to know either.
On behalf of the Board of Regents, I am very pleased to announce that Dr. Michael Hemesath has been appointed the 13th president of Saint John’s University.
During his campus visit, Dr. Hemesath (SJU, class of 1981) shared his vision of the liberal arts, his experience with the transformative power of a Saint John’s education, and his deep-seated appreciation for our Catholic and Benedictine character. He will be a compassionate, energetic, and inspirational leader for Saint John’s at this important moment in our history.
Many thanks to the Presidential Search Committee for their diligent work on this process, and special thanks to everyone at Saint John’s and Saint Benedict who participated in the community forums and provided feedback to the committee. The search provided us an opportunity to demonstrate what is best about these communities. All of the finalists expressed appreciation for the extraordinary hospitality they experienced during their visits.

Syrian Cardinal Passes Away

Just before the dawn of Easter, Ignace Moussa I Cardinal Daoud passed away in Rome, aged 81, early this morning. Cardinal Daoud was the former highest prelate of the Syrian Catholic Church and had retired from his official functions in 2007.
Born in 1930 in Syria as Basile Moussa Daoud, the future cardinal was ordained a priest in 1954 and went on to study canon law at the Pontifical Lateran University in Rome. In 1977, he became the Syrian Bishop of Cairo, a position he held until 1994, when he became the archbishop of Homs in Syria. Over the course of October of 1998, he was elected, confirmed and enthroned as Patriarch of Antioch of the Syrians, and he took the name Ignace as his first name, a tradition for Syrian patriarchs.
After some two years, Patriarch Daoud was called to Rome as Prefect of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches, but kept the title of Patriarch ad personam. Shortly afterwards, in the consistory of 21 February 2001, he was created a cardinal, but did not receive a title church, since he was a prelate of an eastern Catholic Church.

The Cafe from Hell
Bishop Victorious Against the Consensus in Alaska
Edit: another defender of the good, who is victorious in the culture wars, bringing many trophies.
[California Catholic] Anchorage residents rejected a ballot initiative that sought to add “sexual orientation” and “transgender identity” to the list of protected legal classes in the city code.
With nearly 98 percent of votes counted, the measure was failing 58 percent to 41 percent. More than 54,000 residents voted on the April 3 ballot — far more than city officials had expected….
One Anchorage, a coalition of homosexual rights advocates, pushed the initiative behind the backing of several national gay rights organizations. According to state records, the group raised about $350,000 in support of the initiative — three times more money than opponents raised.

Bishop Questions Catholicity of College!
By Margaret M. Russell
There was no threat by the diocese to cut off financial support for the college. The diocese does not fund the college in any way.
But, Bishop McManus did tell Anna Maria President Jack Calareso that if Mrs. Kennedy were to be the commencement speaker that he would not attend the May 19 ceremony. That is consistent with the stance of not honoring Catholics who stand in public opposition to some of the teachings of the church, the bishop said.
And contrary to at least one published report, Bishop McManus had not known for a year that Mrs. Kennedy was to be the speaker. He learned of it only a month ago and had a frank conversation about it with President Calareso a few days later.
As a result, the college said in a press release Friday that it had officially notified Mrs. Kennedy that the executive committee of the board of trustees decided “with deep regret to withdraw its invitation to her to serve as Anna Maria College’s 2012 Commencement speaker and honorary degree recipient.”
As Bishop McManus sat down with The Catholic Free Press Tuesday to clear up some of the misconceptions surrounding Anna Maria College’s decision to withdraw its invitation to Mrs. Kennedy, another call of support came in to his office. He has heard from both supporters and detractors. Yet, unlike a politician who can be swayed by public opinion, Bishop McManus said that his decision to object to the college’s choice of speaker was informed by two church documents: “Ex Corde Ecclesiae” (“From the Heart of the Church”) and “Catholics in Political Life.” He said his duty is to protect the Catholic identity of the college.

Anti-Catholic Baltimore Sun "Weighs" in on Blasphemous Bar
Many Will be as Shocked as Belshazzar Was |
Edit: most of the world isn't going to understand the significance of the Mass, that it's the unbloody commemoration of the sacrifice of Christ on Calvary, the most sacred event a Catholic can experience in this life. What is a sacrilege? A sacrilege is a deliberate, or otherwise, confusion of divine and profane categories. At a bar in Baltimore, the rituals, ministers and symbols of Catholicism are offered as accompaniments to carousing and boozing.
Disgraceful! |
The owner doesn't plan on honoring the concerns of Catholics who do object to this sacrilege, and the anti-Clerical Baltimore Sun has written an article sympathetic of those who have no respect for Catholicism, and despite spending their lives being educated in Catholic schools have almost no understanding of the importance of the symbols that they hold in contempt.
In all fairness, we must also mention that these objects are no longer conseecrated, most likely, although they may have been purchased as part of a sacrilege from E-BAY.
In any event, what gets lost in the shuffle is that Catholic rituals and Catholic beliefs are held up to ridicule here. That owner insists that he intends no disrespect, but the lie is given to that in his public comments and the rude way he treats those who call with concerns about his blasphemy.
His patrons share his contempt for Catholic things, and they can be seen in blogs and comment boxes, building on to the offense which is this bar.
They refer to those who hold revere these symbols and don't want to see them manifestly disrespected (as they clearly are in the personal testimonies on the site and in the comments section on the first article we featured on this place) as "nut balls". Anti-Catholic paper writes:
Tom and Mary Rivers, who opened Ale Mary's about seven years ago, say they've gotten about a dozen angry phone calls and about the same number of emails in the last week or so. And, as both of them were raised Catholic in Baltimore, [Are Baltimore Catholics less Catholic than elsewhere? Being raised Catholic doesn't guarantee respect for others beliefs, apparently] they still can't believe anyone would have a problem with what they consider fun decor. "With the exception of these nut balls I've had one person in seven years say this is kind of in bad taste," Tom Rivers said. "And that person still comes in here." The couple says that all of their religious items were donated by customers, including the monstrance behind the bar.
Kiddish Cup |
Clearly, the owners of the bar and many of its patrons wouldn't be too happy if the things they find sacred or important were denigrated and held to ridicule in such ways. Imagine if a similar bar were in existence which featured and ridiculed Jews or Muslims. It's unlikely that a bar of this type would get insurance coverage, and would certain face closure.
In normal societies, like Singapore, for example, such disrespectful behavior toward Catholicism isn't tolerated, actually, like Singapore, for example. Imagine if a bar were build around a Jewish house of worship, complete with mezuzah's, satirical pictures of respected Rabbis hanging on the wall? Imagine too if the beginning of Colt's games were signaled at the bar with a shofar horn? Or instead of chalices, imagine if patrons drank from kiddush cups? How about a game of strip dreddle? Two can play at that game!

JESUS IMAGE DRAWS FAITHFUL TO URSULINE CHAPEL
Hundreds of Catholics and fellow believers are making a visit to the Shrine of Our Lady of Prompt Succor in the Ursuline Chapel on the school’s campus to see what they say is a vision of Jesus on a pillar.
The following comes from WWLTV in New Orleans:
The Ursuline chapel in Uptown New Orleans is home to the National Shrine of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, but for the past 12 days, it has also been home to hundreds of faithful who are coming in to see what they say is a vision of Jesus on a pillar.
“I think this is so extraordinary,” said Charles Davis . “You can see the crown of thorns on Jesus. You can see his face. It’s just very extraordinary.”
Word of the image has spread and people are coming from near and far to see it. TheDavis family came in from Geismar, driven by a deep faith.
The chapel, on the Ursuline Academy campus at 2635 State St., is open weekdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturdays until the 12:30 p.m. Mass.

2nd review of Injustice Against Father Guarnizo
Canon Law Info
Father Anonymous Responds
I would like to take a moment to thank Father Stuart MacDonald and Doctor Ed Peters for their ready willingness to dialogue regarding the canonical case of Father Guarnizo in the Archdiocese of Washington, DC. As canon lawyers, each of us sees that our canonical judgments are limited to the currently available information. The Truth is what we all seek. By way of review, my defense had two parts.
Part 1 - Father Guarnizo sufficiently satisfied the conditions for canon 915.
Part 2 - I question the canonical liceity regarding Father Guarnizo’s “administrative leave”.
This article serves as a response to their various and thoughtful criticisms regarding certain points of my initial canonical defense of Father Guarnizo. I attempt to make my original points more explicit

Downtown Basilica Ignores Rubrics: Holy Thursday Foot Washing
Update: Just a small correction. We've been informed that the USCCB Mandatum is actually unacceptable and flies in the face of the rubrics from Rome.
Edit: It should come as no surprise that in the decadent post-Conciliar age, that quite a few parishes aren't concerned about the rubrics. During Holy Week, on Thursday, there is what is called, the Mandatum, or the washing of feet, which requires that men only are chosen.
Barb Kralis was kind enough to forward the USCCB's surprisingly good ruling on this question.
At least one Minneapolis parish, and likely many more, are going to violate the rubrics and carelessness with respect to the things that are God's. St. Mary's Basilica is one of two such buildings with this honor in the United States. It has a reputation for dissent and abusing the Sacraments. It's quite possible that blasphemy is committed there every Sunday.
Despite boasting a large number of parishioners, there is no evidence that the Sacrament of Penance is regularly available, but you can present yourself as an "Ecological Steward".
The Basilica, which often features many Liturgical abuses, including ad libbing by its priests and pastor, omitting the creed, omitting gestures and creating an atmosphere hostile to Christianity, is going to engage in that Liturgical abuse this year. They've provided us with proof that they've done this in the past.
Despite efforts to get a statement from the Pastor, he refuses to say if he supports the Archbishop's campaign in defense of marriage and continues to feature the "art" of Lucinda Naylor, who was fired from the Basilica religious education office for dissenting from the Archbishop's work as Bishop.
From Parish Website |
No word on whether or not a Rabbi will discuss cabala and utter trivial comments which defame Catholic teachings this year as he did last year. He's an important part of the parish's universal contempt for the Church, Her ministers and teachings.
Holy Thursday Mandatum
My parish liturgy committee has decided to allow both men and women to take part in the washing of the feet at the liturgy on Holy Thursday. I have always heard that only men may have their feet washed. Which does the Church allow? The rubric for Holy Thursday, under the title THE WASHING OF FEET, reads:
"After the Homily, where a pastoral reason suggests it, the Washing of Feet follows. The men who have been chosen (viri selecti) are led by the ministers to seats prepared in a suitable place. Then the priest (removing his chasuble if necessary) goes to each one, and, with the help of the ministers, pours water over each one's feet and then dries them."
Regarding the phrase viri selecti, the Chairman of the then-Committee on the Liturgy, after a review of the matter by the committee, authorized the following response which appeared in the Newsletter of February 1987:

Opus Dei Prelate Ordains FSSP Seminarians
[Liturgical Peace] A prelate of Opus Dei "in the extraordinary form" for the Fraternity of St. Peter
As noted by our colleague Catholic Riposte on March 3, "ordinations for minor orders and the sub-diaconate conferred on Feb. 11 at the European Seminar of the Fraternity of St. Peter, in Wigratzbad, are marking a milestone in not only because the number of clerics concerned but also the quality of the celebrant priest. "
This is indeed the first time since the Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum has been celebrated by a member of Opus Dei [Certainly one of the first high ranking? We reported, here in February], according to the liturgical books in force before the Conciliar reform. In this case, it was the Spanish Bishop Monsignor Juan Ignacio Arrieta Ochoa de Chinchetru.
He is a Doctor of Canon Law, one of the best specialists in this field in a Personal Prelature [that is] "sharp" in Church law. He was president of the Institute of Canon Law from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross. 60 years old, Archbishop Arrieta has been since 2007 a member of the Curia where he has the office of Secretary of the Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts. His interest in the issue is [as a] known traditionalist, as well as the Undersecretary of the same Council, Bishop Jose Aparecido de Almeida. Thus, their contribution to developing solutions for canonical recognition of the Fraternity of St. Pius X is not negligible.
During the ceremony Feb. 11, 13 seminarians received the orders of porter and drive and 13 other orders of exorcist and acolyte. Finally, 7 seminarians were promoted to the sub-diaconate from Bishop Arrieta. 20 French were involved in these ordinations.
We offer the following story of the day, translated from Polish site tradicamp.pl, followed by our thoughts, while you are strongly encouraged to visit the photo album of this beautiful day

Chicago's Cardinal Bernardin Nurtured Obama and ACORN
Edit: Some "Catholic" commentators of the moment favor the tactics employed by Saul Alinsky. Do not the use of the tools and aims of revolutionary tactics work against the cause of Catholicism and the very principles of subsidiarity they are meant to promote? One of the primary techniques of Alinskeyite method is deception, and it seems that these disruptive influences have crept into Catholic circles, eager for allies who will give them hope. Saul Alinsky favored the mobilization of people to undermine and disrupt the existing order, favoring class struggle, to petition its intervention on behalf of "community" goals. It is very aptly described by Tom Woods who writes:
Troubled by rampant injustice and inequality, many conscientious Christians advocate radical economic reforms. Distributism, a program that traces its popularity to Catholic writers Hilaire Belloc and G.K. Chesterton, promotes the widespread ownership of property by tempering the market with guilds or similar associations. Thomas Woods, drawing on a wealth of historical evidence and informed by Catholic social teaching and economic insight, argues that the distributist case is severely flawed. By its nature, Distributism must invoke the power of the state, a dangerous move that ultimately undermines its own objectives. Economic freedom in a market system, Woods advises, is a context more conducive to justice and human flourishing.
Such theortical techniques which have been employed and refined for years to garner governmental support for radical agendas is played out by certain luminaries in the Catholic Church, particularly in Chicago, where Saul Alinsky employed his revolutionary technique to its full.
It was in Chicago that hatched Barrack Hussein Obama, and witnessed the harnessing of the Catholic Church and its structure to an agenda completely alien to it.
When considering how such allegedly Catholic influences are strong supporters of radical agendas such as ACORN and CCHD, it's important to look back for a historical pattern which will provide an outline for recognizing enemies who infiltrate with an intent to disrupt and undermine Catholic communities with false promises of power.
This is an interesting story about how Cardinal Bernardin worked to establish an institute that has created a cycle of poverty, a hint of class war and hamstrung the Catholic Church, virtually silencing its moral voice, which arguably hasn't been heard since the days when Jaques Maritain and Saul Alinsky admired one another.
What brood parasite is raising enemies at its breast today?
THE VETTING - OBAMA'S WAR ON CATHOLIC CHURCH BEGAN AT HIS FIRST JOB
[Breitbart] One of the least explored periods of Barack Obama’s life is the period between his graduation from Columbia University in 1983 and his arrival at Harvard Law School in 1988.
This was a crucial, formative time for the young Obama. It was during these years that Barack Obama, “community organizer,” forged his identity and the relationships that would bring him to the White House. And he did so hand-in-hand with the radical Catholic left in Chicago.
Obama’s first job in Chicago began in 1985 with Jerry Kellman, a Saul Alinksy-trained community organizer who continues to work with the radical Catholic left in the Windy City. Kellman was a veteran protestor of the ‘60s--he once joked that he majored in protesting at the University of Wisconsin-Madison before transferring to the progressive Reed College--and wanted to use the “social justice” teachings of the radical Catholic left to co-opt the Church for his Alinskyite project.
Obama’s job was to help Kellman expand his project's reach into the black churches.
He was paid by these radical Catholic leftists, who in turn had received their money from their parishioners or the larger Catholic church. Obama’s travel documents and expenses were signed and approved by the late Cardinal Joseph Bernardin,a controversial figure in the Catholic church who supported nearly every left-wing movement within it. Though Bernardin was well liked in Chicago, especially by a fawning media anxious to have a Catholic imprimatur on nearly every social issue of the day, Bernardin's work undermined many Catholic teachings.
