Germany. Today the founder and General Superior of the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest, Abbe Gilles Wach, wanted to celebrate high Mass at the high altar in the Holy Chapel in Altötting. This was according to video portal 'gloria.tv'. The priest requested two weeks previously in writing for permission, but didn't receive an answer. As he discovered by wahttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gify of telephone, a secretary explained to him that he may not celebrate Mass there. The Old Liberal Rector of Altötting, Msgr Gunther Mandle, is a known enemy of the Immemorial. Despite this, two priests of Vaduz were able to say the Immemorial there two weeks ago in the early morning on the side altar.
Lithuania. The Society of Saint Pius X has built a church in Kaunas. This is according to a report from the German website 'piusbruderschaft.de' with pictures. In Pius-Father Josef Persie of German descent is working in Lithuania, among others.
Edit: no word what the Cardinal thought of this, but he's been trying to smooth the way for those who are divorced and remarried.
Was this Habsburg-comedy Catholic? Or old-Catholic? Or Protestant? Or Orthodox? Or Buddhist? In any case there's a scandal taking place in God's house -- complete with television cameras.
(kreuz.net, Wien) On Saturday in a Franciscan, Minoritenkirche, a Catholic Church in Vienna's Old City, a marriage between two adulterers was organized.
An Honorable Professoress of Theology
The principle actors were adulterer Sandor Habsburg-Lothringen and adulteress Herta Margarete Öfferl.
The comedy appeared for 700 guests.
Mrs. Öfferl is the founder and President of the obscure "Union for the Promotion of Peace".
She has the academic degree of "Professor of Theology honoris causa" from a protestant grouping which calls itself "High Church Austria".
Sandor Habsburg-Lothringen is the organization's Vice President. He is also honored by "High Church Austria".
Flower Pedal of the Buddhists
The concubine appeared in a creme colored wedding dress with a green mantel in the style of a mountain girl.
Upon her dramatic entrance into the Franciscan Church she was accompanied by soldiers of the Austrian Army.
In the church the church rector, Father Wojciech Szczepanski, greeted them as reported in an edition of the "Lower Austrian News".
The former Reichsender Vienna [What ORF was called when it served Hitler] (ORF) participated described the participants of the abomination as members of the Roman Catholic and Greek Catholic Churches. Additionally, there appeared members of the Old Catholic, Protestant and Romanian Orthodox Churches.
Apparently, the Old Catholic cult leader simulated the act of giving the vows.
Both divorced people exchanged rings, putting them on the finger and swearing, "till death".
That was an apparent parody of the vows of their existing marriages.
After the laughable ring-ritual a Buddhist Abbot appeared and strewed flower peddles in the direction of the wedding parody couple.
The holy Franciscan church has been used for almost sixty years by the Italian community in Vienna.
Edit: UPDATE: Benetton has pulled their ad, recently, but the damage has been done.
The trendy, colorful and androgynous clothes of Benetton are famous all around the world for their ad campaigns which promote a promiscuous cultural melange and challenge the sexual norms of the world's religions. They also make light of the entire political spectrum from the Left to the Right side of the Seine or the Moscow. The ads seem to say, "this is how fun life can be without religion or politics." Despite their efforts to promote a world clique, and decisive social changes, they're also increasingly notorious for the unsafe conditions of their factories and exploiting their laborers. So, the sexually ambivalent Luciano Benetton and his company, despite being progressive about some things, still has a great deal of respect for Mammon.
How about creating sharecroppers in Africa through mini-credit?
Recently, as mentioned above, Benetton has attacked the Pope with a photo-shopped ad depicting him with a Mohammedan cleric embracing and kissing. The ad is decidedly exploitative and has once again raised people's awareness of this label, Mohammedanism and Catholicism.
And yet, despite Benetton's concern with the sexual outlook of the world's religions, and their own progressive sexual ethic, they continue to make the news for their bad faith in terms of their labor practices. Last year, 3,000 female textile workers rioted against what they felt were low wages and poor working conditions. This is obviously something which might interest the culturally progressive audience Benetton has cultivated in the last quarter century.
At least nine female garment workers were injured on Tuesday in clashes with Cambodian riot police who used shields and electric shock batons to try to end a week-long strike over the suspension of a local union official.
More than 100 police, at least 50 in riot gear and carrying assault rifles, tried to force an estimated 3,000 female workers back into their factory, pushing several to the ground and stunning them with batons, a Reuters witness said, which we found at Deceiver.
The clashes were the latest setback for an industry that was badly hurt by the global economic slump from 2008 and more recently has been plagued by strikes over low pay and working conditions.
The factory on the outskirts of the capital, Phnom Penh, is owned by a Malaysian firm and produces garments for companies including Gap, Benetton, Adidas and Puma.
On 14 December 2010, 28 workers of the sportswear factory That’s It in Bangladesh went up in flames or jumped to their deaths when a fire tore through the ninth and tenth floors of their factory building. They were not the first ones whose lives had ended violently in the work place. Since 2000, at least ten Bangladeshi factories were razed by fire or simply collapsed on top of the workers, because the owners cared more about money than about the safety of their employees.
We might also add that Benetton is an avid supporter of unsavory sexual mores. His numerous ads depicting curious sexual poses valorizing aberrosexuality speak for themselves. Could it be that the Italian, and shamelessly Republican Senator, Luciano Benetton, shares with many anti-clerical Italians, a hatred of the Catholic Church? If the following paragraphs are any indication, it wouldn't be surprising:
The solution was one of the most controversial campaigns in advertising history. Under the banner, United Colours of Benetton, there appeared first mixed-race couples and later more shocking images. One showed the bloodstained uniform of a dead soldier in former Yugoslavia. Others highlighted social problems such as Aids. None used professional models.
Mr Benetton is coy about whether his goal has been to change the world or merely to hijack topical issues to promote his brand. "I'm not the so-called `creative' person in the company," he says. But he does vet all the images before they go out. "Our principles are not to offend people and not to lie."
We're not the only ones to have noticed this familiar duplicity. Three days ago, an article appeared in A Paper Bird has also noticed this as well, citing also how Benetton pays its female workers in Tunisia.
(Moskau) The Holy Girdle of the Most Blessed Virgin Mary, which is one of the most honored relics of Orthodox Christianity, is in Moscow. The Russian capitol is the last stop of a tour which began its trip through Russia in St. Petersburg on 24th of October. Till the 27th of November, the relic which is also known as the cincture of Mary, will be displayed at the Moscow Christ the Savior Church, recently reopened for the first time since the break-up of Communism. In the first two days there were over 50.000 faithful who came to venerate it. Whoever was lucky only had to wait about six hours in the line. Many stood for over 18 hours in the snowfall and waited patiently, till they could visit the Icon.
For the protection of the relic the strictest security measures were undertaken because the installation of the Holy Girdle fell on the birthday celebration of the Moscow Patriarch Kyril I. Since the 18th of November, the faithful must first pass through a metal detector to see the symbol of the spiritual rebirth of the Russian Orthodox Church after 74 years of Communist dictatorship.
With its "pilgrimage" through Russia the Girdle of Mary had to leave its home in the Monastery of Vatopedi on Mount Athos in Greece where it is guarded. The special permission to allow the relic to leave the Monastery in the little Monastic Republic in Greece, falls upon Vladimir Yakunin, the Chief of Russian state transportation. "A reason, is the demographic situation in our country.," explained Yakunin to the Press. "We're hoping that this will lead to the spiritual rebirth of Russia, which is calling for Christian values and above all, the family."
The Vatopedi Monastery dates back to the 10th Century. Which tradition states was a Monastery reestablished there from the 4th century. There is a similar tradition of veneration for the stole of Mary in the Oriental and Latin Churches.
There has been a substantial amount of negative response from the laity as well as a recent news report from Lifesite, about United States Catholic Council of Bishops [USCCB] and its questionable relationship with the Girl Scouts. Despite the fact that Girl Scouts USA partners with and supports Catholics for choice, there is the typical non-response from the USCCB. They express concern about the the grievances of Catholics involved with the program, but don't actually do anything about it. (http://www.nccgscf.org/NFCYMPositionStatementOnGSUSAIssuesJan282011.pdf), (GSUSA supports "Catholics for Choice" on pg 2 of the article). Here's the non-response:
Many Catholic Girl Scout leaders are feeling torn between their commitment to Girl Scouting
and their commitment to their Catholic teachings because of the real or perceived relationship
between GSUSA and organizations like Planned Parenthood. The NFCYM approach to this
complex issue has been one of engagement, rather than detachment or withdrawal. NFCYM,
through NCCGSCF, needs to stay connected to GSUSA not only because thousands of Catholic
girls and Catholic adult leaders are involved in scouting, but because Girl Scouting—like Boy
Scouting—provides excellent character development for young people through their programs.
NFCYM can only influence secular organizations by staying in relationship with them . . . by
being at the table.
In addition to releasing their public statement, GSUSA has taken two other actions:
1. On Thursday, January 27, GSUSA conducted a conference call with their council
executives to assist them in working more closely with faith based organizations.
NFCYM sees that as a significant action in promoting our religious recognition
programs.
2. GSUSA has agreed to a follow-up meeting between their national leadership and
NFCYM leadership this summer to continue to review and access our relationship and
the critical issues.
NFCYM will continue to closely monitor any new issues that arise and, through our NCCGSCF,
continue to engage GSUSA leadership in their active support of NFCYM religious recognition
programs
More recently, there is another story related to Girl Scouts USA where, true to their essential character, they are making accommodation for a child who is undergoing a sex-change operation. It's indisputable that there are those within the USCCB who have difficulties articulating and acting on the Church's teachings regarding sexuality and it also seems unlikely that any change will take place from within. Here's the recent National Review Story:
‘Bobby identifies as a girl, and he’s a boy,” a Denver mother told a TVstation in a news story about her son, who has been accepted as a Girl Scout.
“He’s been doing this since he was about two years old. He’s loved girl stuff, so we just let him dress how he wants, as long as he’s happy,” she explained.
When she first approached the Girl Scouts’ local troop leader about joining, the answer was pretty sensible: But he’s a boy.
Father John Echert, Pastor of Holy Trinity and St. Augustine churches in So. St. Paul, has invited The Superior General of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP), the Very Rev. John Berg to offer the 11:30 Traditional Latin Mass at the Church of St. Augustine (408 3rd St. N. in So. St. Paul) on the 27th of November. The Fraternity of St. Peter is an international priestly fraternity established by Pope John Paul II to provide the traditional Mass and Sacraments to Catholics around the world under the provisions established by the motu proprio Ecclesia Dei.
There will be a reception for Father Berg in the church hall immediately after Mass, at which time he will also offer a brief presentation on the general mission of the Fraternity of St. Peter. So please--tell your friends and family members, forward this email to your Catholic contacts, pray for the success of this event, and mark your calendars for the 27th of November.

Some may remember this parish as the site of a possible Eucharistic Miracle.
Edit: this story from Sicily is of interest. It was reported in Messainlatino a few days ago on the 18th.
A layman wanted to receive Communion in the hand, but the pastor of Acquaviva Platani is opposed to this practice. There was a confrontation after Mass in the Sacristy and the police were called.
CALTANISSETTA - The police were called 'to intervene and restore calm to a faithful Pastor in Acquaviva Platani, Don Francesco Novara, had refused delivery of the Host in his hand.'
This priest only gives Communion on the tongue. This decision by Don Novara has already split the community between those who believe it's the correct decision by the parish priest and those who think it's exaggerated. The man who had been denied the Host, came to the Sacristy after the church service, as reported in the edition of the Journal of Caltanissetta of Sicily, and railed against the priest. The police were called shortly after that by others in the Sacristy. The police arrived and convinced the offended layman to desist from his protests and to return home.

Bravo, Don Francesco Novara! Communion only in the mouth!
Edit: ever since we discovered that Jeff Anderson, an attorney who has settled but never won, numerous cases for sex-abuse against the Catholic Church, has donated substantial sums of money to the American Civil Liberties Union and the Democratic National Committee, we've felt it's a pretty clear indication of the kind of credit this systematic and mendacious attack on the Catholic Church deserves.
Homosexuality and the Church Crisis
11/14/2011http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif By Brian W. Clowes -RenewAmerica.com http://catholiccitizens.org/press/pressview.asp?c=53420
Abstract: Due to clergy sex abuse scandals centered primarily in the Northern hemisphere, the moral authority of the Roman Catholic Church has been subjected to an opportunistic siege by prominent individuals and organizations who see the chance to advance their goals, including the ordination of women and the suspension of the requirement for priestly celibacy.
There is also a strongly defensive element to this strategy. Opponents of the Church know that there is a well-documented and strong correlation between male homosexuality and child sexual abuse, but claim that there is no evidence supporting this connection.
And, of course, those who are currently attacking the Church hope that they can undermine its moral authority to preach on the sinfulness of homosexual behavior and weaken its opposition to ersatz homosexual "marriage."
This paper demonstrates that there is indeed a very strong link between male homosexuality and child sexual abuse. It also shows that there is a similar rate of child sexual abuse among other very large groups of adult males (e.g., Protestant clergy, who are usually married), thus proving that celibacy is not the root of the problem - homosexuality is.
Edit: the fact of the matter is that the presence of altar girls and women readers destroy vocations. The presence of women on the altar indicates a progressive and revolutionary outlook which are antithetical and toxic to authentic Catholicism. But a cursory look at the actual practice will show that Diocese which don't allow this don't have vocations problems. Once upon a time Northern Virginia didn't have altar girls, then Bishop Loverde came along, but that's another story.
Once the few women of the parish calm down, or decide to become Unitarian or some other religion more suited to their mentality, some vocations to the priesthood should come of this.
[Washtington Post] Mass had just begun at Corpus Christi Catholic Church when Jennifer Zickel, a Sunday school teacher, glanced at the church bulletin and saw something that made her sick to her stomach.
Tucked in with announcements about a new electronic donation system and a church dinner at Margarita’s Mexican restaurant was news that Zickel, the mother of two girls, had been dreading: Corpus Christi would no longer train girls to be altar servers.
Edit: Andrew Greeley, who says he knows the identity of the infamous Chicago Boy's Club pederast ring is still recovering from an "accident." Matt Abbot's been covering the story from Chicago for almost a decade:
[Renew America] Thomas R. Hampson, an Illinois licensed private investigator and founder of the Truth Alliance Foundation, is determined to expose corruption — in the church and in society at large.
"It's clear to me that the crime problem has expanded as our collective values and character have deteriorated," says Hampson. "We need to address that core problem, and the church — defined as the people of God, not the institution or denomination — needs to take the lead. The first challenge is to clean up our own house."
Hampson knows it will be a daunting task, but he's ready, willing and able. His résumé is impressive: In the 1960s he worked for the U.S. Air Force Security Service as an intelligence analyst. In the 1970s and early 1980s he worked for the Illinois Legislative Investigating Commission as a chief investigator. From 1983 to 2004 he served as president of Search International, Inc., a company he established as an international investigation and security agency.
On August 8, 1990, Archbishop Lefebvre wrote a personal letter to a Society priest in France who had written to ask him about the meeting with Padre Pio. Here are extracts from the letter:
For several years now this slander, a fabrication from start to finish, has been circulating in Italy. I have already refuted it, but lies die hard; there is not one word of truth in the page of that magazine you photocopied for me.
The meeting which took place after Easter in 1967 lasted two minutes. I was accompanied by Fr. Barbara and a Holy Ghost Brother, Brother Felin. I met Padre Pio in a corridor, on his way to the confessional, being helped by two Capuchins.
I told him in a few words the purpose of my visit: for him to bless the Congregation of the Holy Ghost which was due to hold an extraordinary General my Chapter meeting, like all religious societies, under the heading of aggiornamento (up-dating), meeting which I was afraid would lead to trouble...
Padre Pio kissing Archbishop Lefebvre's ring.
Then Padre Pio cried out. 'Me, bless an archbishop, no, no, it is you who should be blessing me!' And he bowed, to receive the blessing. I blessed him, he kissed my ring and continued on his way to the confessional...
That was the whole of the meeting, no more, no less. To invent such an account as you sent me the copy of calls for a satanic imagination and mendacity. The author is a son of the Father of Lies
Thank you for giving me the chance to tell once more the plain truth.
From Rorate Caeli, continuing reports of Cardinal's support for Medjugorje:
In a repeat of last year's scandal, a 'seer' of Medjugorje has been invited once more to the Stephansdom of Vienna to give his 'testimony'. The whole-evening event (which will be live-streamed on the Internet) will culminate in a live 'apparition' followed by a Mass celebrated by Christoph Cardinal Schonborn. This event is in line with Schonborn's repeated gestures of support for this strange phenomenon, which is supposedly under investigation by the "Ruini Commission".
France. Approximately two dozen Traditional youth spontaneously enriched an inter-religious event by their self-composed music at a Parisian church. This was reported by the Catholic weekly 'La Vie' yesterday. The paper portrayed this beautiful action as a 'disturbance'. There were Christians, Muslims, Jews, Sikhs, Hindus and Buddhists gathered in the church for an inter-religious abomination. The religious participants closed in a ring around the youth. These were open to reason and gathered in the back of the church. After a discussion with the organizers of the event, they left the Church.
The young Catholics are associated with Civitas and the Society of St. Pius X.
A google translation of the French article reads what the Catholic youth wrote in leaflets denouncing the event which is closely tied to the inter-religious meeting at Assisi:
A leaflet summarized their hostility to interreligious dialogue: "Assisi, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice ...". Or: "Pius XI condemned the interreligious meetings because the proponents of this view reject the same time the true religion and pour gradually into naturalism and atheism."
Edit: Yoga is a violation of the First Commandment.
[Mumbailaity]Straight forward answer is “YES”. They know more on Hindu and Buddhist occult spirituality than Authentic Catholic spirituality. They know Hindu Sanskrit Shlokas better than Bible scripture. Why are you targeting only MUMBAI, Why not Bangalore, MANGALORE. It is the same story in India and around the World. There is a great demand for Christian YOGA teachers around the World.
FATHIMA RETREAT CENTRE MANGALORE conducts Christian YOGA retreats. St. PATRICKS Church campus Bangalore used for YOGA and PRANAYAMA, INFANT JESUS SHRINE MANGALORE OCD priests promotes YOGA classes. In Mangalore Diocese every parish promotes YOGA classes for children. Our religious institutes, Campus, Schools, colleges are used to promote SATANIC Spirituality.
In Europe, only one out of three trusts their church.
Moscow (kath.net/KNA) 68 percent of the Russian people have shown in a recent questionnaire that they have trust in the Orthodox Church of their land. Only twelve percent have mistrust for the Church, as a public poll conducted by the religious information service >>Sreda<<.
A subscriber poll of the "Reader's Digest" (Stuttgart) of Europeans in 16 countrie shows that 38 percent distrust their churches, while 59 percent on the other hand have little or no confidence.
30 percent of Russians surveyed see a strong dependence of their church on the State, 25 percent see it as low. 30 percent of respondents want the official state religion to be Orthodoxy. The majority of 48 percent, however disagrees that church and state should remain separate.
53 percent appreciate the work of the Russian Orthodox Moscow Patriarch Kirill I very much; another 40 percent rate it as mediocre, however, the remaining 7 percent below average.
In contrast, Europe (16 European countries including Russia), the Churches and Ecclesial Communities and their representatives, enjoy in comparison to other institutions, below-average confidence. This came from the aforementioned consumer survey by "Reader's Digest" (Stuttgart) which appeared at the end of March 2011. 38 percent of the approximately 33,000 respondents trust the churches there, 59 percent have little or no confidence in them.
The trust shown for churches in Germany is about a third (34 percent), while in the previous year was 40 percent. Even more dramatic is the fall in their trust in the Switzerland where it fell from 43 percent to 34 percent. There was only a slight loss in the prestige churches in Austria - from 37 percent to 36 percent.
In this pan-European survey, Russia was also included at the time, because the investigation "Reader's Digest European Trusted Brands" (Reader's Digest trusted brands) since 2001, has been conducted annually in the following countries: Belgium, Germany, Croatia, Finland, France, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russia, Slovenia, Sweden, Switzerland, Czech Republic and Hungary.
Note: just remember that there were two dissenting votes against the Dogma of Papal Infallibility and one of them was from Little Rock.
[Little Rock, AK] The abuse-hoax has claimed yet another victim. A French priest of the Fraternity of St. Pehttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gifter has been suspended pending an investigation by his Bishop, Anthony Taylor, for disciplining a child by slapping her. His Latin Mass community is going to be on hold. It's not certain where his sheep will go to Mass, but if we may be so bold as to suggest this place, here.
Father Demets spirits are high. He is unrepentant and almost unmoved by the accusation. The gallant French priest writes:
And if America has become a country of sissies, it is not my fault.... well... it's the same in Europe now ! The all Western civilization is messed up. You can kill babies as Emily said, but you cannot smoke. You can say heresy in the Church, but cannot discipline a kid..... O tempora o mores !
Ho Chi Minh City (Agenzia Fides) - "Hope for the new generations of Vietnamese youth is faith in Christ: the young people who look to a market economy, consumerism, the civilization of looking for new answers for their thirst for truth and new ways of life": this is what the theologian Fr. Joseph Do Manh Hung, Vice-Rector of the Major Seminary in Ho Chi Minh City and Secretary of the Commission for the Clergy of the Episcopal Conference of Vietnam said in an interview with Fides. The Secretary has confidence in the Christian community’s future in Vietnam, noting on the one hand "the government’s signs of openness " and, on the other hand, the flourishing of vocations (over 1,500 seminarians) and 80 thousand young lay people committed to pastoral care.
What are the prospects and hopes for Christians in Vietnam? Hopes for the Christian faith is based mainly on young people. The Church in Vietnam has a population of 87 million people, it has 7 million members. And young people are the majority. In 7 major seminaries (2 in the north, 2 in the center and 3 in the south) we have over 1,500 seminarians, and this abundance of vocations is a boost of confidence for us. Faith is strengthened, but at the same time, there is the challenge represented by the opening of a market economy, consumerism, by the civilization of image. This challenge mainly affects young people, including seminarians and future priests who need adequate formation. This work of formation passes through the use and development of modern techniques.
Edit: a hero was born in Germany on November 15 1907 at the Castle of Jettingen, who held the Empire and Secret Germany in his soul and lived up to its greatest champions.
Inspired by the poetic genius of Stefan George, he sat at the feet of the ancients and passed whole summers' days in antiquity, learning the timeless wisdom of the Psalmist, the Stagyrite, of Akademos. Then having learned those lessons, Count von Stauffenberg, the aristocrat and soldier, became the tragic hero who made the legendary heroes of old live again.
Here's an account from the ISN Blog:
What might not be so well-known is that Count Claus von Stauffenberg, according to Cambridge historian Richard J Evans, “found moral guidance in a complex mixture of Catholic religious precepts, an aristocratic sense of honour, Ancient Greek ethics, and German Romantic poetry. Above all, perhaps, his sense of morality was formed under the influence of the poet Stefan George, whose ambition it was to revive a ‘Secret Germany’ that would sweep away the materialism of the Weimar Republic and restore German life to its true spirituality.”
The key to understanding that “Secret Germany” (as cryptically elaborated in a poem by the same title, which was written around 1910, but hermetically kept from the public until 1928) is the idea that only the poet with his charismatic authority can voice the arcane without revealing it. It is him being the “spiritus rector” who deepens the inner reflections of his disciples, who awakens their intellectual and spiritual sensitivity, so his word is followed by their action.
A Marxist with a human face has posed a connection between sexual discipline and the accomplishments of civilization.
(kreuz.net) "Are the particular rules dealing with sexual matters, which have been formed by Christian civilization, related with the accomplishments of this civilization in the areas of science, literature, art and later, engineering?"
This question was posted by the Marxist author, Leszek Kolakowski († 2009) in its "Mini-tractatus on Maxi-themes", which first appeared in German in 2002 in Frankfurt.
Kolakowski was a Polish Philosopher and Essayist. He is a proponent of Marxist ideology.
His answer: "On and apart from it we can trace that the aforementioned relation between the Christian sexual morality and the civilizing accomplishments of Europe are extant and of significance, although difficult to demonstrate."
Kolakowski is thinking about principles and not on the actual practice of them.
Because: "The mere existence of the rule is important, not only important because of its importance to property and the system of inheritance, but also because of the way it contributes to the dissemination of cultural goods and labor organization."
The philosopher comes therefore to the conclusion, "that monogamy is a good and valuable invention, regardless of how it really works in a purely sexual matters, and that the intellectual, artistic and technical achievements of Europe have monogamy as one of its pillars."
Edit: something's brewing beneath the surface. Would have just put up the article from Telegraph, but couldn't find it.
London (KNA/pius.info) The secure psychiatric clinic in Broadmoore in English Berkshire will have a witch and a Rastafarian on the team of their spiritual assistants.
This is so that the hospital can meet the needs of heathen and Rastifarian adherents who come under their care, reports the newspaper "Daily Telegraph' on Wednesday.
At the present patients of Christian, Jewish, Muslim and Buddhist spiritualities are served. In future even a Hindu priest will work in the clinic. "We try to support our patients irrespective of their convictions, to continue to practice their religion and remain true to their faiths," said a clinic spokesman to the Times. Actually, this is not part of the official procedures; spirituality and religious devotion are in any case an important part of the healing process of psychological illnesses.
Commentary: The decline into heathenism goes still further. The Cure de Ars once said: "leave a village for twenty years without a priest -- and they'll be praying to animals." (1)
For two generations the Catholic Church has relinquished, in the name of the religious meeting of Assisi already, the First Commandment of God: "Hear, Israel, I am the Lord thy God, and you will have no FALSE Gods beside me."
The psychiatric clinic in Broadmoore, which now has a witch, a Rastafarian and employes various other worldviews is a direct fruit of Assisi. Not in the sense of a cause-effect-relationship, but because Assisi collaborated, to establish a new way of thinking. Because the Catholic Church itself has arranged it, that all religions are similar ways, which is found increasingly in the neo-heathen revival in state and society, as for example at the clinic in Broadmoore.
Increasingly, the convinced Catholic asks: Holy Father, why, why do you let these false ways into the Church? And still more: why did you yourself also take part in these scandals?
1) cf. Walter Nigg, Der Pfarrer von Ars, Freiburg 1992, S.38)
Edit: if you favor various forms of modern art like abstract expressionism, you are certainly disordered and perverse. Those who favor such forms of art prefer the esteem of the world to objectivity, and those who are relativists in aesthetics will be relativists in ethics as well.
Is it any wonder that the Church in the world is in so much trouble with such Shepherds as the Archbishop of Paris?
About 1,000 Catholics participated in a demonstration in Rennes against one of them criticized as blasphemous play.
Rennes (kath.net / CBA) Large parts of the city of Rennes in Brittany have been cordoned off by the police on Thursday evening for fear of riots. Like French media reports on Friday, nearly 1,000, mostly traditionalist Catholics, were participating in a demonstration against what is for them a blasphemous play at the National Theatre of the western French city. A counter-demonstration of 200 participants had also arrived. According to media reports, it remained peaceful throughout the evening, the play was half an hour late, but had been listed with no interference.
At the rally against the play "On the concept of the face of the Son of God" by the Italian Romeo Castellucci, the traditionalists are largely related to an organization called "Civitas". The Archbishop of Rennes, Pierre d'Ornellas, had recently defended the work [Incredibly]. There was no hostility toward Christians in the play, however, but it is meant to provoke, he declared earlier this month. Those who protest against it are mistaken, in his perspective. D'Ornellas was represented, according to media reports on the performance, by a priest of his diocese. Bishop Raymond of the Breton diocese of Vannes has supported the protest against the play, on the other hand.
Castellucci's play depicts Jesus as the backdrop in an oversized port of the scene of a son caring for his demented and incontinent by his father. Even in Paris there are rallies and vigils against the play. The traditionalist SSPX has also announced that it is having Masses said in reparation for these performances. One of the performances in Paris was interrupted by conservative Catholics. The French bishops' conference chairman, Cardinal Andre Vingt-Trois said on Wednesday that the bishops were in agreement that "verbal or physical violence certainly" should be rejected against anti-clerical works of art.
The Old Liberal General Director of the Trappist Order in Rome wants the Abbot of Mariawald replaced -- and has fallen on his nose.
(kreuz.net) In 2008 the German Trappist Abbey of Mariawald in Eifel rd the privilege to celebrate the Liturgy and discipline of the Use of Monte Cistello of the year 1964.
The Commission 'Ecclesia Dei' published the Papal decree, after which employees of the State Secretariat had attempted to make the papal decision disappear in a drawer.
Difficult situation
Abbot Dom Josef of Mariawald got such a free hand in his monastery, to reinstate the traditional rites and customs without having had to find democratic majorities.
One third of the convention was for all of it, a third neutral and a third completely against.
Moreover, it was hoped to give a new thrust to new vocations for the Monstery.
However, when a handful of postulants could not meet the strenuous Trappist life - which is normal in such monasteries - and thus it happened that with no immediate flowering, those enemies of the Roman Rite within the order came on the scene.
The Abbot sits firmly in the saddle
It should be understood here that there is a principle of the Trappist community the Trappists that there is a certain number of options about how to interrupt an abbot.
So this was how the abbot of Maria Wald was sidelined by the advisory board.
This, however, quickly lost its teeth, because the Abbot is a wise and strong personality and he doesn't pretend to see things as they aren't.
Thus attempted an impeachment on the Order level.
An abbot, however, can be dismissed only for canonical reasons and has the right to appeal if necessary to a papal court.
Since Abbot Joseph has survived the critical month of September, in which he dealt with the General Council having survived politically, it has become clear that his position is not debatable and he will stay permanently.
The term of office for this reformer Abbot will last until 2038.
Only helps the Trappist prayer
In between 1965 and 1975, the Trappists lost thousands of monks and nuns because of rampant old liberalism.
Nevertheless, the relatively strict Trappist order still has twice as many vocations as members of the milder Cistercian order.
Mariawald has threatened to flip over into a Buddhist meditation center in the past.
At that time the Monastery was still on friendly terms with the Bishop of Aachen, Heinrich Mussinghoff.
Mariawald is located in the Diocese of Aachen.
Resignations, deaths and missing entries diluted an abbey which once had one hundred monks, more and more.
There was at the same time the heroic sanctity of so many brothers, who were mainly working animals, who endured the suffering and the situation in a spirit of prayer and vicarious atonement.
Since the silent monks of Mariawald have begun this year to keep silent for half an hour daily prayer before the Blessed Sacrament, they have again reported serious candidates for the contemplative religious life.
Edit: did Bishop Olmsted actually consult the Father Ruff, or did this journalist think he did? Father Ruff is dissident who doesn't understand what obedience means. He was out and about recently in Greenwich Village helping dissidents feel good about dissenting and complaining about the new Mass translation.
Bishop Thomas J. Olmsted of Phoenix has backed away from his ban on
using consecrated wine for Communion at most Masses, a decision that was
originally met with widespread outcry.
In an explanation of his decision in a letter to the priests of the
diocese, Olmsted apologized for his own misunderstanding of church
documents, including new guidelines and translations for the Catholic
Mass, and for any confusion arising from his previous statement made at a
priests’ meeting in September.
Father Anthony Ruff, an expert on new translations for the Mass, who
criticized the bishop’s previous position as a “step backward,” said he
had never heard of a bishop “retracting so quickly.”
Edit: If you wanted democracy, you should have signed up for a different religion. It also seems like it would be a good idea to keep your powder dry till a decision has been made one way or another and the way the many of the laity are lamenting the way this is going is interesting as well. Was the Protestant Revolt a good idea after all?
[TIA] In order to obtain a modernist
personal prelature, Bishop Fellay has transformed the work of Archbishop
Lefebvre into a personal dictatorship, assisted by a small circle of a
dozen priests inside the SSPX ranks. The founder, who always acted
transparently before the faithful regarding his relations with Rome, was
betrayed.
Accused of being a dictator and asked to resign
Increasingly isolated in his allegiance to the Rome of Benedict XVI, and
after having silenced the writings of the founder [a lawsuit he filed
forbidding the dissemination of the Archbishops sermons], Bishop Fellay
now censures the two opposed Bishops plus the 30 superiors of SSPX who
rejected this anti-natural merge. When will Bishop Fellay and Fr.
Schmidberger be deposed, the infiltrated priests expelled, and this
politics of betrayal be publicly condemned?
At Albano on October 4, 2011, Bishop Fellay reportedly did not show the text of the Doctrinal Preamble
to the SSPX superiors, but only gave a spoken presentation of it. This
demonstrates his lack of transparency and his suspicion toward the very
members of the General Chapter. Along with his two executives - Frs.
Pfluger and Nly - Bishop Fellay seems to want to impose only his processus of merge-betrayal to the other superiors of the SSPX.
Edit: Father Z has this to say about how the abuse-hoax is being handled. Those attacking the Church expect the Bishop to be in charge of every aspect of the priest's life, while often, the same people decry Bishops who do just that. It's a double standard only we've been noticing, until today. Father Z writes:
Liberals and secularists rail against bishops who are too restrictive or
who are perceived to be too controlling. If a bishop actually seeks to
govern, they accuse him of being authoritarian, mean-spirited,
backward. On the other hand, they think that bishops can and ought to
control every possible aspect of the lives of priests and want to hold
them liable for every thing a priest does… unless, of course, the priest
is a good and faithful priest, sticking to the Church’s teachings and
sound practices.
Edit: more people than ever should admire Archbishop Nienstedt. As Bishop of New Ulm he denounced his Old Liberal predecessor's errors.
National Catholic Reporter just can't believe that a Bishop could be Catholic in this day and age, standing against the homosexual agenda.
Truly one of the most deceitful publications reporting on the Catholic scene in America had this to say:
The episode was not Nienstedt’s first indelicate act as bishop of New Ulm. He denounced the writings of his predecessor who had recently died.
Bishop Raymond Lucker had begun working on a book when illness overtook
him and he entrusted the completion of the work to a friend. Lucker,
who had served as the bishop of New Ulm for twenty-five years, died in
2001, the same year Nienstedt became bishop of New Ulm. When the book
was published in 2003, Nienstedt urged Catholics not to read it, said it
did not adequately reflect Church Teaching. Nienstedt wrote that the
book “challenges the church’s own understanding of herself as being
authoritatively charged under the guidance of the Holy Spirit to teach
in the name of Jesus on matters of faith and morals.” Nienstedt referred
the text to the USCCB Doctrine Committee. The Committee engaged a
theologian to review the book, who concluded that while there were some
passages that were “ambiguous” and “lacking nuance,” the book did not
contain “grave errors.”
Edit: the practice of Communion under both kinds was another practice which occurred both before and after the Council, appearing at first as an abuse and then as the Church wanted to relax discipline, it was permitted. Despite having a spotty pedigree going back to the Hussite heresy of Utraquism just before the Protestant Revolt got going, the Bishop of San Jose finds this a practice to encourage, and even believes that the laity is "well instructed".
Utraquism, briefly stated, means this: Man, in order to be saved, must receive Holy Communion when he wishes and where he wishes, under the forms of bread and wine (sub utraque specie). This, said the Hussite leader, is of Divine precept. For, "Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, you shall not have life in you" (John 6:54).
On the contrary, most Catholics are poorly formed and many of them do not understand the Holy Eucharist at all. One study conducted by Georgetown University indicates that only 12% of Catholics actually go to Mass every Sunday, so it's difficult to see how this practice should be promoted if the Bishop is basing that on how well-educated Catholics are.
Edit
“Not only permitted but also encouraged and expected”
San Jose bishop issues letter clarifying diocesan policy regarding Communion under both kinds
November 7, 2011
Dear Fathers, Deacons and Parish Liturgists,
In light of recent statements by the bishops of the Dioceses of
Phoenix and Madison regarding the limited use of Holy Communion under
both kinds, I would like to take this opportunity to clarify our
normative practice in our own local Church.
In
the Diocese of San Jose, Communion under both kinds is permitted
whenever it may seem appropriate to the Priest to whom a community has
been entrusted, provided that the conditions set in the General
Instruction of the Roman Missal, 283, have been satisfied, namely:
The faithful have been well instructed;
There is no danger of profanation of the Sacrament; [That's a bold and, sorry to say, difficult statement to believe considering the way that Eucharistic "Ministers" don't seem to know what they're doing most of the time we've witnessed them.]
and
There is no danger of the rite becoming difficult because of the large number of participants or some other reason.
Edit: they've lied in the past, they will lie in the future. The University and the Abbey have built an affluent, social worker's paradise, why would they be held accountable for anything?
One of the saddest things we ever heard is how Josh's father lingered around the campus for months looking for his son, listened to conversations, and any hint of what happened to his him. He feels the School administration withheld evidence from him. In fact, they actually filed a restraining order to keep him off campus.
Considering the fact that Collegeville has long upheld a pretense of Catholicism and been a nexus of Liturgical abuse, doctrinal dissent, disobedience, homosexual activism, radical and frankly seditious attitudes toward the United States, it's pretty well within the realm of the possible that they could also be responsible for the disappearance of a young man.
When family members wanted to have a march to recall Josh's memory, these Collegeville frauds wouldn't allow it to take place because in their words:
“would not be productive, and that the speculation and conjecture
likely generated by such a march could in the end be more harmful to the
efforts to find Josh.”
Speculation is legitimate because St. John's Abbey houses at least eleven credibly accused homosexual predators who, despite the Abbot's insistence that they are "on restriction", travel all over the world and enjoy the lifestyle of unmarried, affluent, single males.
At present, one monk who died under suspicious circumstances fits a profile by law enforcement. His name is Father Bruce Wollmering. The Sheriff's file related to what was found on Wollmering's computer and in his effects is sealed. As Pine Curtain reports:
There is speculation that the sheriff’s file on Wollmering is sealed
because it contains information related to the disappearance of Jacob
Wetterling or the disappearance of Joshua Guimond, or to both.
It would be interesting to know if Josh had Wollmering for a class or had visited him for counseling. There also seems to be a connection with Josh's disappearance and the disappearances of many young men like him throughout the Midwest along Interstate Highway 94.
Any information about his whereabouts can be sent to the e-mail at this link.
MAPLE LAKE, MN — As the seventh year anniversary approaches for
the disappearance of missing college student Joshua Guimond Nov. 10, his
family is preparing for a “Justice for Josh,” march to keep his memory
alive.
In addition to the march, the family has few kinds words to say about
the university. According to Joshua’s father, Brian Guimond, “One of
several new facts regarding Joshua’s disappearance that we need to
explore involves 11 known sex offenders who resided on campus when
Joshua disappeared. If that is the case, we may never know the truth.
The University and Abbey have a long history of withholding information
from the public and law enforcement authorities.” The public needs to
be aware of this.
Guimond disappeared after leaving a small card party as a student at St. John’s University in Collegeville in 2002.
Edit: picked up a post by Taylor Marshall. What he's saying needs to be repeated again and again. Now we have a great Pope witnessing to the venerable way of receiving Communion.
Today
is the feast of Pope Saint Leo the Great (r. 440-461) who is one of the
greatest Popes that the Catholic Church has ever enjoyed. He preserved
stability during the collapse of the Roman Empire. He is perhaps most
famous for his meeting with Attila the Hun.
He
less well known for something very important to liturgical studies. He
is one of the most ancient witnesses to the practrice of Communoin on
the tongue. Notably, Saint Leo the Great read the sixth chapter of Saint
John's Gospel as referring to the Eucharist (as all the Church Fathers
did). In a preserved sermon on John 6 (Sermon 9), Saint Leo says:
"Hoc enim ore sumitur quod fide creditur" (Serm. 91.3).
What a Modern Bishop says about Communion in the hand is this.
The ancient faithful never took Communion with their fingers: "the
gesture of hand Communion was completely unknown in the Church."
Edit: Apparently, the only group systematically protesting this is the TFP who sent out some e-mails about it. But Bill Donahue has said something too. It's still ongoing. Still, there's only one group I know of that does anything effective against this determined evil.
Check out the poll in the article below. Most people who've voted feel Christianity is unfairly singled out by the Arts.
[New York Daily News] An avant-garde video of ants skittering over the crucified Jesus is
enraging Christians who say an upcoming Brooklyn Museum art exhibit is
sacrilegious.
"Ants were crawling on the image of the crucified Christ," said Msgr. Kieran Harrington,
a spokesman for the Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn, which sent a letter
asking for the video to get yanked from the exhibit. "Certainly we don’t
think this would be tolerated if this was the image of the Prophet Muhammed or any other religious symbol."
"A Fire in My Belly" is a short, unfinished film created by the late David Wojnarowicz. The Brooklyn Museum intends to show a four-minute edit of the video, which is about suffering.
The poor youth of the region are "easy targets for the Islamists", warns bishop. They would have, "everyone in the state forcibly converted to Islam."
Maiduguri
(kath.net / KIN) The Islamist sect "Boko Haram" ("Western education is
sin"), which has killed at least 150 people since Friday in attacks in northern Nigeria, likely receives support from elected
politicians.
The Bishop of Maiduguri, Oliver Doem Dashe said to worldwide
Catholic charity "ACN", Northern Nigerian politicians would use the
Islamists as a tool to destabilize the region and hamper their political
opponents.
Specifically, the bishop criticized the government of the northern
Nigerian state of Borno, because in the capital, Maiduguri, it has "let down
the people" because it did not guarantee security from arson. "There are powerful politicians who allow the Islamists to buy local produce and weapons," said Bishop Doem.
Religion is a touchy topic in his diocese, so it falls easily to the politicians to sow hatred and distrust among the people. The youth of the region are poor, poorly educated and unemployed. "They are an easy target for the Islamists," warned the bishop.
"It's part of the plan of 'Boko Haram' to drive the Christians out of Borno," said Bishop Doem. Sharia is already in Borno as the basis of legislation.
This was not sufficient for the Muslims, however. They would have, " forcibly converted all the people of the state to Islam." Bishop Doem reported that the Islamists had already infiltrated parts of the police and other security forces. He requested the government earnestly to protect all citizens in this dire situation.
In a series of attacks by "Boko Haram" last weekend, at least 150 people were killed.
The bombings and armed attacks were directed primarily against
facilities of the military, the police and against churches in the
cities of Maiduguri and Damaturu.
By a bomb, according to testimony by Bishop Doem one of the largest churches in his diocese had been completely destroyed. The burned church of "Our Lady" in Damaturu, which was leveled to its foundations, had offered space for over 1000 worshipers. "Last Sunday Mass had to be celebrated in the parish rectory," lamented Bishop Doem. "The government must finally make sure that we can live our faith freely."
About half the population of Nigeria is committed to the Christian faith. While in the south of the country there live predominantly Christians, Muslims form a clear majority in the north. Twelve states in northern Nigeria have adopted Sharia as a source of legislation.
The worldwide Catholic charity "ACN" supports the Church in Nigeria in
their distress and asks for donations for the pastoral formation of
local work.
Edit: when the most winning coach in all of football who lives at the most modernist Monastery in the world is shocked about sex-abuse, you know something's afoot.
I'm Shocked
COLLEGEVILLE — Like most in the college football world and beyond,
St. John’s coach John Gagliardi has been shocked by the sex-abuse
scandal that has rocked head coach Joe Paterno and the Penn State
football program.
Jerry Sandusky, the
longtime former Penn State defensive coordinator, has been charged with
sexually-assaulting eight boys across a 15-year period. Tim Curley, the
school’s athletic director, and Gary Schultz, the vice president for
finance and business, have been charged with perjury and failure to
report what they knew of the allegations to authorities.
“It’s
just awful,” Gagliardi said of the allegations against Sandusky. “Just
awful. If they’re true, I don’t know if there is enough punishment in
the world for a guy like that.”
Edit: this is yet another astonishing event. Since when have Catholic Bishops ever expected the partners in ecumenical dialog to be consistent about anything, or even to be equal partners in a discussion? Here's something big from Catholic Church Conservation.
The Regensburg Bishop Gerhard Ludwig Mueller has accused representatives of the German Protestant Church of driving "a wedge" into the Catholic Church. In the interview with PNP, the Bishop responsible for the ecumenical movement within the German Bishops' Conference attacked "controversial statements" during the Pope's visit to Germany and put Catholic-Protestant ecumenism as a whole in question.
Muller was particularly critical of the Berlin Protestant bishop Markus Dröge, who had written that Benedict XVI had "no concept of ecumenism". Such statements are "just to be dismissed as totally without basis," said the Regensburg Bishop, stating: "If one continues on this line, this would be the death of ecumenism."
