Fear and Trembling Before His New Office: +Scola Kicked out of Milan Seminary

Cardinal Angelo Scola was dismissed as a student of the Milan Seminary. Now he returns as an Archbishop to his home Diocese.

(kreuz.net) The new Archbishop of MIlan, Angelo Cardinal Scola (69, is experiencing "fear and trembling" in the face of his new assignment.

This was according to the Director of the Venetian Caritas, Msgr Dino Pistolato yesterday for the Milan newspaper 'Il Giornale'.

A Dismissed Seminarian

Msgr Pistolato believes that the arrival of Cardinal Scola in Milan will also awaken resistance in the Old Liberal Diocesan leadership.

These forced the present Cardinal to move to another Diocese when he was a young Seminarian.

The Clergyman recalled the Old Liberal Archbishop of Milan, Giovanni Cardinal Colombo († 1992).

This one refused in the late sixties to ordain the young Angelo Scola to the priesthood because he was earlier a member of the Catholic student group, 'Communion and Liberation'.

Today's Cardinal was thrown out of the Seminary.

He withdrew to the southern Italian Diocese of Teramo, where in July 1970, he was ordained a priest.

"You will never come to Milan"

Cardinal Scola was already discussed as a candidate for the Milan Archdiocese in the year of 2002.

Actually, the decisive Old Liberal Milanese Archbishop Carlo Maria Cardinal Martini was categorically against this appointment.

"You will never come to Milan" -- he is said to have told the former Patriarch of Venice.

The Archdiocese of Milan has been in the hands of the Old Liberals for decades.

Resistance in Milan

The neo-Conservative Cardinal sounds correspondingly meek in his first speech to the faithful of Milan:

"I need you all, your help, but above all your sympathy" -- he grimaced.

Msgr Pistolato commented that Cardinal Scola in Milan -- differently than in the relatively small Archdiocese of Venice -- will be dependent upon an enormous apparatus as Archbishop of Milan:

"In Milan even the best Archbishops can't govern alone --- there are three thousand priests alone."

Msgr Pistolato believes that the Cardinal undertook nothing to be named to Milan: "He hoped that the Pope would choose someone else."

But finally he accepted the Pope's decision obediently.

Reform-Cardinal Forbids Communion in the Hand

Editor: Sri Lanka, only our favorite place in the world.

Super Cardinal Ranjith on 'sanctepater.com'

The most progressive Archbishop in the world doesn't complain about Old Liberal decadence.  He rushes to act.

(kreuz.net, Vatikan) At the end of June Malcom Cardinal Ranjith of Colombo in Sri Lanka condemns the celebration of the Mass on the supper table facing the pews.

The Cardinal spoke in the framework of a conference, which took place in Rome from 20th to the 24th of June in Rome, organized by the "Missionaries of the Most Holy Eucharist".

The Priest as a Boring Entertainer

The Cardinal stressed that the Priest at the supper table is forced in the role of an entertainer.

The Second Vatican Council never talked about a Calvin Box: "The people's altar is not suitable for the fear inducing Mystery of the Holy Eucharist" -- admonished the Cardinal.

He received enormous applause for stating this truism.

The Cardinal stated that the active participation in the Mass is not an external activity rather the significance interior worship.

How does one reform a Diocese?

At dinner during the Conference Cardinal Ranjith described, according to the US Traditionalist Website 'rorate-caeli.blogspot.com' that he had abolished Communion in the Hand in his Diocese.

At the same time he restored communion rails in every church as well.

His priests may only use proper vestments in their celebration of Holy Mass.

Finally he has forbidden all of the priest, to hold syncretic Liturgies, in which elements of other religions are introduced into the Liturgy.

The Website 'sanctepater.com' has photoshopped an image of the Cardinal as a valiant superhero.

Maximilian Krah Sells Bishop Williamson Out: Holds him to Ridicule for Germany's Anti-Catholic Press

Editor: Bishop Williamson may face jail time, included in the 'dapd' report, complete with denunciations from SSPX Legal representative Maximilian Krah who also ridiculed Bishop Williamson for believing in the Apocalypse.

Here's an excerpt from the google translation from anti-Church 'suddeutsche zeitung':

Much further in a Catholic community of priests probably can not dissociate from one of their members. An eccentric is Bishop Richard Williamson, one who had a "persistent problem with recognition of reality" and "monotonous regularity every two years, believes in the apocalypse."
You Look Fabulous, Dolly

^Italics ours.

Here's our translation of the end of the 'dadp' article, which contains the suggestion that Bishop Williamson may even face jail time for his comments for Swedish television:

The legal representative of the Society of Pius X, the Dresden Attorney Maximilian Krah, had also said as a witness for the courts that, Williamson's [sic] Holocaust-denial comes from conviction. "He believes that", explained Krah, who shortly after the publication of the Interview removed the Bishop's mandate.

According to Krah's account Williamson [sic] is valued in the Society as an eccentric, "colorful bird" and has no significant position of leadership. The Bishops of the Society of St. Pius X are first and foremost in there for Priestly Ordinations and Confirmations and not automatically entrusted with leadership.

The appeal is to take place, because after the first process before the Regensburg Court, both sides are seeking legal means against the judgment. The book of sentencing identifies punishments for denial or downplaying the crimes of the National Socialists prescribe a fine or incarceration of up to five years. (dapd)

Pope on the Environment

Vatican. In the poor lands in people suffer material need. In the wealthy regions people are dissatisfied and depressed. Pope Benedict XVI said this at yesterday's Angelus Prayer. With reference to the environment -- not perhaps on abortion -- he lamented, "the aggressive character of destruction, with which the last century has been dominated."

Three New Priests for the Immemorial Mass of All Ages

Germany, on Saturday, Jean-Pierre Ricard of Bordeaux blessed three Deacons for the Priestly Society of St. Peter in the Immemorial Rite as Priests. This was according to the site, 'kath-info.de'. The three new priests are Father Clément Darmet from Tarare near Lyon, Father Guilhem de Labarre from Bordeaux and Father Martin Micheal Klein from Cologne.

The Emperor of Austria is Dead

Editor: He would have made a much better King of Spain than what we have now. The fate of the Kingdom of the Danube now rests in his successor, Karl's hands, Gott Rett Kaiser Karl. As he once said of his son, according to a British tabloid, "my son is Catholic enough, he knows what to do".

May His Highness, Apostolic and Imperial Emperor, rest in peace.

In 1961, Spanish dictator Francisco Franco offered to make him king of Spain after his own death. Habsburg declined, but [and] later praised the fascist leader for helping refugees, calling him a "dictator of the south American type ... not totalitarian like Hitler or Stalin."

BERLIN — Otto von Habsburg, the oldest son of Austria-Hungary's last emperor who saw the end of his family's centuries-long rule and emerged to become a champion of a Europe united by democracy, died Monday. He was 98.

Habsburg died in his sleep at his home in Poecking in southern Germany, where he had lived since the 1950s, with his seven children nearby, spokeswoman Eva Demmerle told The Associated Press.

Habsburg used his influence in a vain struggle to keep the Nazis from annexing Austria before World War II, then campaigned against the Soviet empire in the decades after the war.

Remember when Otto Hapsburg physically confronted Ian Paisley at the EU, where Paisley insisted he was punched by His Highness.

Berlin's Mayor: "Gays" and Protestants are "Committed Allies"

Editor: How much more evidence do Protestants need in order to understand that this five hundred year experiment with Liberalism has been a failure?
Comrade Wowerweit

For honorable Protestants, who are still gathered in Germany, the time has come to become Catholics.

(kreuz.net) On the 24th of June the Berlin mayor, Comrade Klaus Wowerweit, will spread homosexual propaganda in the Lutheran Marian Church.

The occasion was for a march of homosexuals in the German Capital City.

Wowerweit is himself suffering from the condition of homosexuality.

According to reports from the Evangelical Portal 'medrum.de' the so called "Evangelical Church' of Germany is in his official estimation described as "committed ally" of the sin of Sodom.

The Godless event will include Kirchenkreis Berlin-Statdtmitte [Church Circuit in Berlin Central] and the militant anti-Christian Lesbian and Gay Association of Germany.

The official German Protestants have officially betrayed Christendom last November.

Since then, they promote the Homosexual Ideology.

The synod of the so-called 'Evangelical Church in Germany' have concluded unanimously to place the sin of Sodom on the same level as marriage.

The Sin of Sodom as a Gift from God

The - only on paper existing -- Berlin Protestants bless homosexual partnerships -- although Martin Luther († 1546)rejected the Nuptial Mass and regarded Marriage as a merely "secular thing".

This demonstrates that this Protestantic homosexual ceremony is only a propaganda affair for the normalization of homosexuality.

The superintendant of the Church Circuit in Central Berlin, Bertold Höcker, is according to 'medrum.de' an indisputable supporter of the homosexual mayor of Berlin.

Höcker was also present at the Godless event.

He pled during this for the sin of Sodom to be conceived as a "gift of God".

The site 'medrum.de' also informs that the national bishop of the so-called Evangelical Church in Bavaria, Johannes Friederich, is a hardened homo-ideologue.

Feeble Opposition

The Protestant response to those who support the normalization of homosexuality is feeble.

According to reports of 'medrum.de' the Evangelical Church in Baden has decided not to participate with the homosexual-disorder in the march with the 'Evangelical Church in Germany'.

A decision of the Church of Wurttemburg is still unavailable.

Even in Bavaria there is some opposition.

It is however only a question of time, till sodomy thoroughly infests these districts.

It serves for the separation of extremists

A proper disposition was undertaken by the 'Lutheran Evangelical Circle Church Section.'

The Stuttgart Church Council Hans Lachenmann (83) is a member of the 'Initiative Circle'.

He maintains: "The divine image will be damaged by the confusion between the female vagina with the male rectum."

And: "That one is an organ for the wonder of new life, and the other one serves as the elimination of excrement."

In order to come to this understand, one needn't await the most recent adjudication -- he answered to an objection to the Berlin Homosexual Ideologue Höcker.

The Germany wide oriented 'Lutheran Church Profile' became public in January of 2011.

Note from Wikipedia: The Evangelical Church of Germany (German: Evangelische Kirche in Deutschland, abbreviated EKD) is a federation of 22 Lutheran, Reformed (Calvinist) and United (Lutheran plus Calvinist) Protestant regional church bodies in Germany. The EKD is not a church in a theological understanding because of the denominational differences. However, the member churches (Gliedkirchen) share full pulpit and altar fellowship. The EKD has a membership of 24.832 million parishioners or 30.2% of the German population (status 31.12.2007).[2] Membership rates fell in 2008 to 24.515 million parishioners or 29.9% by the end of 2008.[3]

New Berlin Archbishop a Surprise: Auxiliary Bishop Rainer Woelke

Editor: He studied at Holy Cross in Rome and is more conservative than what might have otherwise have been. He wasn't on the short list chosen by the locals either. This was likely a personal choice.

A difficult birth.  The successor of the deceased Cardinal Georg Sterzinsky as Archbishop of Berlin will be made public shortly.
Auxiliary Bishop Rainer Woelke

(kreuz.net)Today at 12:00 o'clock the Cathedral Rector Stefan Dybowski, like the 'Angel of the Lord' will announce the Archbishop of Berlin.

It will fall about the Cologne Auxiliary Bishop Msgr Rainer Maria Woelki (54).

The Archdiocese of Berlin has about 400,000 Catholics on paper.

The region of Upper Pommerania and part of Brandenburg belong to this Archdiocese.

The previous Ordinary, Georg Cardinal Sterzinsky († 75)died on June 30th a few days ago.

Previously, Curial Bishop Josef Clemens (64), Cologne Auxiliary Bishop Heiner Koch and Berlin's Auxiliary Matthias Heinrich were hot candidates for the office.

Msgr Woelki studied Catholic Theology from 1978 - 1983 in Bonn and Freiburg.

He was ordained on June 14th 1985 by Archbishop Joseph Cardinal Höffner in Cologne Cathedral.

After pastoral activity as chaplain to St. Marien in Neuss, as Minister of the Kolpings family Neuss-Zentral, Military Pastor and chaplain to St. Joseph in Ratingen, he was made the Archbishop's chaplain and personal secretary.

From 1997 to 2003 Msgr Woelke was Director of the Theological Faculty of the Albertininum in Bonn.

Pope John Paul II named him in 1999 as a Chaplain to His Holiness.

In 2000 he was at the Papal University of Holy Cross -- which is directed by Opus Dei -- in Rome where he received a Doctorate for a dissertation on the theme "The Parish -- an Article on its Ecclesiological Localization" [ „Die Pfarrei – ein Beitrag zu ihrer ekklesiologischen Ortsbestimmung“]

Pope John Paul II named him as titular Bishop of Scampa in 2003 and sent him to be Auxiliary Bishop in Cologne.

Joachim Cardinal Meisner consecrated him a Bishop on 30. March 2003 in Cologne Cathedral.

Co-Consecrators were his predecessor Auxiliary Klaus Dick and current Auxiliary Bishop of Cologne and current Bishop of Hildescheim, Msgr Norbert Trelle.

Joachim Cardinal Meisner named Msgr Woelki as the Episcopal Vicar for questions of Doctrine and Ecumenism and charged him with the East Pastoral District of the Archdiocese.

In 2003 he was elected as resident Cathedral Rector.

Since 1 Juanary 20005, Msgr Woelki has been Diocesan Vicar of the Permanent Diaconate and since 1 January 2006 as responsible for the North Pastoral Area.

He is a member of the Commission IV "Spiritual Professions and Church Service" and VIII "Science and Culture" of the German Bishops Conference.

Church insiders get more important Diocese than Berlin.

The Archdiocese is attractive for that reason, because the coming Archbishop will be put into the ring for elevation to Cardinal.

As one of the first official acts the new Bishops will be requested to visit the Pope on September 22.

The naming of Msgr Woelke for Berlin is probably a first step, toward being later sent back to take over the Archdiocese of Cologne.

Polish Youth Favor Banning Abortion: Poland Prepares Vote on Abortion

Editor: check out the way the ages are set up in this Life News article. The hippie generation of 68 is less in support of the Catholic position than the younger, better and more promising, generation. Once again, we're seeing that the generation which fell for all the newfangled ideas, the abortion, the draconian family law, the divorce, the contraception and the sodomy is out of step with Poland's Zeigeist.

"...76% of those aged 15 to 24 favor total protection for unborn children."

[Life News] Poland lawmakers cast their initial vote on legislation that would ban all abortions in the European nation — supporting a bid to move ahead with legislation that would tighten the nation’s laws already prohibiting most abortions.

The PRO Foundation has organized a grassroots campaign to lobby MPs to support the legislation and the nation’s Catholic bishops have also played an integral role in advancing the legislation. The legislation is the result of a citizen-led initiative drive in which sponsors collected 100,000 signatures over the course of three months but which resulted in collecting 600,000 petitions in just two weeks.

The bill would remove the rape and incest exceptions from the current federal law in Poland and provide protection for pregnant women and unborn children starting at conception. Also, currently, Polish law allows for abortion in cases related to maternal health, if the pregnancy is the result of “illegal activity,” or if the unborn child is disabled.

Some Polish abortion practitioners have reportedly manipulated the law to do abortions on children with minor problems such as a cleft palate and others are misreporting the fetal age of the unborn baby at the time of the abortion to escape prosecution.

According to an AFP report, members of the Polish parliament turned back an effort by left-wing legislators to stop progress on the bill and, instead, they sent it to a committee for further work. Members of the Sejm voted 254-151 against the communist Democratic Left Alliance’s motion to reject the legislation and, in a subsequent vote, lawmakers sent the bill to committee for finalization.

Cardinal Stanislaw Dziwisz, a former assistant to Pope John Paul II, told Poland’s largest opinion weekly, Gosc Niedzielny, “The Church clearly teaches that it is the obligation of Catholics not to protect the current ‘compromise’ but to aim at complete protection of life. This is a solution, which the Church calls for. I support all efforts aiming at improving the protection of human life.”

The Nazi invasion in World War II brought legalized abortions to Poland and the situation was exacerbated under Communist rule by the Soviet Union. In 1993, a free Poland put the current pro-life laws in place but did not ban all abortions.

A survey conducted earlier this month demonstrates a shift in the population’s attitudes about abortion and showed 65% of Poles agree that the law “should unconditionally protect the life of all children since conception,” and 76% of those aged 15 to 24 favor total protection for unborn children. Some 57 percent of those aged 55 to 70 agree that a ban on abortions is appropriate.

Is San Francisco Poisonous to Children?

Editor: Despite one person mentioning that their neighborhood was a little dicey, most people were talking about the expensive real-estate in the city.  Despite the government's best efforts, people with families are leaving the city.  Not sure what the reason could be, but is it possible that San Francisco is poisonous to children? It's definitely becoming a world without children.

One of San Francisco's Top Cops

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Despite efforts by officials to keep families in San Francisco, the percentage of children that make up the city’s population continues to decline.

U.S. Census Bureau figures show that just over 13 percent of the city’s residents are younger than 18.
That’s not only a drop from 1970 when 22 percent of San Francisco’s population was younger than 18, but it’s also one of the smallest percentages of children in the country.

Eucharistic Miracle at St. Augustine's Parish in Saint Paul Minnesota

Editor: St. Augustine's is a parish which has the Immemorial Mass of All Ages in South Saint Paul. Father Echert has long been a priest friendly to tradition of impeccable reputation and great learning, having graduated from the infamous, but very challenging, Biblicum in Rome. He's also a Chaplain in the Air Force where he's served on a number of occasions, ministering to military personnel. What's being gotten at is that he's a very credible and serious man.  The following was received by talibanshayne this morning:

Above is a photo taken by Fr. Echert, pastor of Saint Augustine in South St. Paul, MN, of a consecrated host.

The host had been accidentally dropped on the ground last week during the distribution of Holy Communion at a daily Mass.

It was subsequently placed in water to dissolve so that it could be poured down the sacrarium.

Fr. Grabner, the parochial vicar, went to check on the host a few days later, on the Feast of Corpus Christi, and found that not only had it not dissolved, but that it had turned red.

Is there a natural explanation? You decide.

The Chancery has been notified.

One proposed explanation is Serratia Marcescens.  Here's a citation from Wikipedia:

Because of its red pigmentation, caused by expression of the pigment prodigiosin,[13] and its ability to grow on bread, S. marcescens has been evoked as a naturalistic explanation of medieval accounts of the "miraculous" appearance of blood on the Eucharist that led to Pope Urban IV instituting the Feast of Corpus Christi in 1264. This followed celebration of a mass at Bolsena in 1263, led by a Bohemian priest who had doubts concerning transubstantiation, or the turning of bread and wine into the Body and Blood of Christ during the Mass. During the Mass, the Eucharist appeared to bleed and each time the priest wiped away the blood, more would appear. While it is possible that Serratia could generate a single appearance of red pigment, it is unclear how it could have generated more pigment after each wiping, leaving this proposed explanation open to doubt. This event is celebrated in a fresco in the Apostolic Palace in the Vatican City, painted by Raphael.[14]

Moscow Patriarchate: Appeal to the West, to Protect Persecuted Christians

Metropolitan Hilarion: "Measures could be taken reduced to a simple formula: economic and other help should only be given in exchange for guaranteed security for religious minorities."

Moscow (kath.net/KAP) The Russian Orthodox Church has appealed to all Democratic Nations to develop an effective system of protection for persecuted Christian minorities, reports Russian news agency 'Interfax'.

Metropolitan Hilarion (Alfejew), the director of the foreign office of the Moscow Patriarchate, said for journalists at the Russian Capitol: "The European Parliament has stressed in a resolution of the 20th of January, special measures to influence those lands in which Christians are persecuted.

I think that these measures can be reduced to a short formula: economic and other assistance should only be given in exchange for guarantees for the security of religious minorities."

The Metropolitan cited data of international organizations: every five minutes somewhere in the world a Christian is killed for his Faith, every year there are an estimated 105.000 victims, and 75 percent of all those who are persecuted because of their convictions are Christians.

The director of the foreign ministry of the Moscow Patriarchate referenced, related to a study by the Commission of the Bishops Conference of the EU-Area (ComECE), according to which 170.000 Christians throughout the world must suffer for their Faith. The human rights organization "Open Doors" even estimates the number as high as a Million persecuted Christians.

"We must see an evident fact: Christians are the most persecuted group worldwide", said the Metropolitan. Many researchers are beginning to compare the intensity of the persecution of Christians at the beginning of the third millennium with the first centuries of Christianity.

The Metropolitan identified countries with especially intense persecution as, Afghanistan, Iran, the Sudan, Pakistan, Iraq as well as North Korea. In the respect of Iraq he recalled that earlier there were 1,5 Million Christians in the country before the fall of Saddam Hussein of which more than half have been displaced or fled the country.

Romanian Prime Minister Attacks King Michael

Editor: the good news is that King Micheal is being taken seriously enough to be attacked. He's a threat to the existing Republican "order".

Romanian president attacks king
President Traian Basescu, who for some reason is allowed to consider himself the head of state of Romania, stunned his country with a vicious attack on former King Michael, 89, who is generally well regarded by Romanians, even non-monarchists. Despite the King having deposed the pro-Axis premier in 1944, only to be deposed at gunpoint by the Communists three years later, Basescu attempted to link the King with both the fascists and the Communists. The King and his mother Queen Helen (1896-1982) did all they could to help Jews during the war, but none of that apparently matters to Basescu. Naturally I condemn the traitor Basescu and his appalling remarks totally. King Michael, the world's last surviving adult head of state from the time of World War II, is a good man who does not deserve such calumny; it is he and not this disgusting common liar who should be Romania's leader still. I call on Romanians to rid themselves not only of this horrid president but of all presidents, and show Basescu exactly what they think of his venomous idiocy by restoring the Monarchy!

Mass confusion

Priest says incident at San Diego parish over funeral rites for gay bar owner was a “set-up”

A controversy over the refusal of a San Diego parish to hold a funeral Mass for the deceased owner of a gay bar was a “set-up” by homosexual activists, an associate pastor at Our Lady of the Rosary Church said at a midday Mass yesterday.

The parish’s associate pastor, Fr. Louis M. Solcia, spoke about the controversy during noon daily Mass yesterday, a parish insider told California Catholic Daily. Fr. Solcia minced no words in describing the uproar over a decision by priests at the parish to refuse a funeral Mass for John Sanfilippo, who owned the San Diego gay bar the SRO Lounge and had been involved in a long-term same-sex relationship before his death.

Sanfilippo died on June 24 and his family and “partner” of 30 years had sought to have a funeral Mass for him at the downtown San Diego parish. Initially, plans for the funeral Mass moved forward and it was scheduled for June 30. But when Mr. Sanfililppo’s “partner” telephoned the parish to discuss further details, priests determined that a Mass would be inappropriate, the parish insider reported.

Holy Father Foreshadows Assisi Meeting as a Battle Cry Against Relativism: Feast of Peter and Paul

Editor: Paying close attention to what the Holy Father is saying in his address to the Patriarch of Constantinople on the Feast of Peter and Paul, he points to his intention at this coming Assisi to declare the truth of the Gospel and a decisive attack on relativism.

Benedict XVI received the delegation of the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople for the event of the high feast of St. Peter and Paul. by Armin Schwibach

Rome (kath.net/as)The event of the high feast of St. Peter and Paul, which will be celebrated tomorrow on Wednesday, began today with a visit of the Ecumenical Patriarchate on its traditional visit to Rome. The representative of the Patriarch was received by Pope Benedict XVI.

In his address Benedict XVI stressed that Jesus, the Lord, had given the task to the Apostles, to be the witnesses of the Gospel of Salvation. The Apostles had brought this mission to its completion and proved their faith in Christ by a bloody sacrifice of their lives and the love of the Father.

The Pope accentuated that the participation of the Orthodox delegation on the feast of the Apostles Peter and Paul in Rome brings brotherhood to expression, which the Church of Rome and the Patriarchate of Constantinople are bound together, for which Benedict XVI. expressed his gratitude. At the same time however, the growth in the still incomplete unity between the both churches must continue to grow, in order to come to a complete and visible unity.

The friendship between the Catholic Church and the Patriarchate of Constantinople forms a secure bond through the witness of the faith received by the Apostles. At the moment it is possible with the common witness for the truth of the Gospel, to help the people of today, to find the way, which will lead them to the truth.

The Pope recalled then the adoption, which Patriarch Bartholemeos participates respective of the basic themes of the quest for the truth, justice and peace. IN consideration of Blessed John Paul II, Benedict XVI invited all Christians, who are members of other religious traditions, as well as personalities throughout the world of culture to participate, in the event which will take place on the 27th of October in Assisi. The common way through the streets of the city of St. Francis, "will be a sign of the desire to set out on the way of dialog and brotherhood."

Anglican Bishop Leads His Flock Into Sinai

Editor : who knows where these Anglicans are going. But because they've refused to embrace the all-holy Sodomy, the entire congregation of three hundred souls is departing the place where they and their ancestors have worshiped for almost two hundred years. Not wanting to engage in a protracted legal battle, the local Bishop has opted to go into exile at a nearby community center. It's unclear where they are going to go after taking such a principled stand as a congregation, whether they will take advantage of the Holy Father's Anglicanorum Coetibus or not.

By Kelly Patterson
It was a historic moment in Ottawa as a subdued crowd of about 300 filed out of St. Alban’s Anglican Church on King Edward Avenue on Sunday, leaving behind a place where some have roots going back to Confederation.

Founded in 1865, the church where Sir John A. Macdonald worshipped has been in the spotlight ever since a showdown over same-sex marriage and other issues led the congregation of St. Alban’s to leave the Anglican Diocese of Ottawa, and, after a bitter battle, the building they have called home for 146 years.

“This is kind of historic. We’re in a new era,” said Sheila Lang, 79, as her grandchildren — the seventh generation of her family to attend the church — played in the reception hall of the Ottawa Little Theatre, where the congregation, now called the Church of the Messiah, will meet until it finds a permanent home. Meanwhile, the diocese will establish a new congregation at St. Alban’s, with a relaunch planned for Friday.

Abortion Banned in Poland

EXCLUSIVE: Poland to vote on historic bill banning all abortions after massive grassroots campaign

WARSAW, Poland, June 28, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) -  After months of shielding the initiative from English media, organizers of a massive pro-life grassroots campaign in Poland have now told LifeSiteNews.com that Parliamentarians in the country are preparing to vote this week on an historic bill that would enshrine total protection for children in the womb from the moment of conception.
The organizers told LSN that they were worried that if the news broke in the English-speaking world, pro-abortion foreign powers would have poured money into the country to oppose their popular efforts.

Legislators in Poland's parliament will vote this week on a bill to ban all abortions in the country.
To bring the abortion ban before Parliament under Poland’s political system, the sponsors needed to collect 100,000 signatures within three months.  They got 600,000 in two weeks.
The bill, which comes up for first reading in the ‘Sejm’ (lower house) on Thursday, is the result of a huge nation-wide grassroots initiative launched by Warsaw’s PRO Foundation and supported by the country’s bishops and a newly-formed pro-life parliamentary committee.

Prayer to St. Josaphat Kuntsevych

St. Josaphat Kuntsevych was a Ukrainian archbishop. He labored in Polotsk for the reunion of the separated brethren with the Catholic Church. His untiring zeal caused his premature death. On Nov. 13, 1623 he was killed by the enemies of the reunion.

O Saint Josaphat, wonderful Saint and heroic martyr for the union of our Church with the Vicar of Christ, the Pope of Rome. Thou are glorious on account of thy zeal in the propagation of the true Catholic faith among our people. Thou art wonderful because of thy heroic martyrdom for the unity of faith of our people with the Holy See of Rome, the true center of orthodox Catholicism.

Thou art admirable on account of thy sublime virtues with which thou has adorned thy soul. We admire thy ardent love for Jesus and Mary and thy allegiance to the Vicar of Christ. Thou art a sublime example of all virtues for the people of whom thou wert born. Since thou art so powerful with God as thy miracles prove, I ask thee to obtain for me from Jesus and Mary a strong attachment to the Catholic faith and my beautiful Eastern Rite which I shall never betray nor abandon. Obtain also the grace of indefatigable zeal that I may labor for the reunion of my separated Eastern Brethren.

O glorious martyr of our Catholic Church, remember the nation of which thou wert a son, look at our people and pray to God for future reunion of all Ukrainians under one fold and one shepherd. May the day come soon in which all thy Brethren will assemble before thy holy relics in a free and independent Ukraine to give thanks to God for the union of all Ukrainians with the Holy See. Amen.

Who were the "Heroes of the Alcazar?"

During the Spanish Civil War, Coronel José Moscardó Ituarte held the building against overwhelming Spanish Republican forces in the Siege of the Alcázar. The incident became a central piece of Spanish Nationalist lore, especially the story of Moscardó's son Luis. The Republicans took 16-year old Luis hostage, and demanded that the Alcázar be surrendered or they would kill him. Luis told his father, "Surrender or they will shoot me." His father replied, "Then commend your soul to God, shout 'Viva Cristo Rey' and die like a hero." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alc%C3%A1zar_of_Toledo

A remnant of a Catholic Spain

Recently one of our Eponymous Flower correspondents traveled to Avila, Spain, birthplace of Queen Isabel the Catholic, St. Theresa of Jesus, St. John of the Cross, and St. Peter of Alcantara. Since the evil socialist government of Jose Luis Zapatero came to power in 2004, little by little monuments which commemorate General Francisco Franco, the victory of Spain over communism, and the martyrs of the Red Terror have been removed. In 2007, the Spanish government mandated the removal of these monuments by law under "La ley de memoria histórica." In many places street names having to do with the Catholic side during the war have been changed to generic names. Nevertheless, if you really search you can still find many monuments to Franco and Catholic Spain. The execution of the removal of the plaques and monuments is left up to the municipalities. Some areas of Spain with a conservative majority have rebelled and quietly left the monuments and plaques as they are. Here is one such plaque that can still be found in Avila. We will leave the exact location of this plaque a secret so that Zapatero's henchmen do not disturb it.

Here is the English translation of the plaque:

"Franco 1936-1938
In this city, birthplace of Saint Theresa of Jesus and capital of the Province which saw the birth of the great Queen Isabel the Catholic, no offense against the morals of Christ will be tolerated under any pretext.

Avila is loyal and will not betray those who gave their lives for God and for Spain during this glorious crusade.

Neo-Catechumenate Founder Paints His Face on Christ Ikons for Ugly Churches

Editor: this discussion of Kiko Arguello's art took place in a discussion about how the churches executed by Neocatechumenate people are ugly, and it became obviously to the highly accredited author of an Italian blog that Mr. Arguello had painted himself in Christ's face.

Italy.  The Christus Ikon of Kiko Arguello, the founder of the Neocatechumenal Way -- for the painted for the interior of churches, has the artist's face on it. This was reported by Francesco Colafemmina already on the 5th of May, 2009 on his blog,
Arguello always omits Christ's halo.

Georg Ratzinger, Pope's Uncle, Disciple of Heretical Döllinger

Editor: The Pope's Uncle, Georg Ratzinger, was a laicized priest who was a disciple of the heretical Döllinger who opposed the Dogma of Papal infallibility and left the Church.  So, not only did the Holy Father study under some of the students of some of the worst heretics of the Ninteenth Century, but his uncle actually served them and studied them in varying capacities.  NCR has the story, here:

Next Wednesday is the feast of Sts. Peter and Paul, when archbishops appointed during the past year will be in Rome to receive their pallium. (A narrow band of woolen cloth, the pallium symbolizes the archbishop’s office.) This year the event takes on extra significance as the 60th anniversary of Pope Benedict XVI’s ordination to the priesthood, which took place in the Freising Cathedral in Bavaria on June 29, 1951.

As it happens, the pope isn’t the only Bavarian priest celebrating his 60th anniversary. His brother Georg, 87, was ordained in the same ceremony by then-Cardinal Michael Faulhaber, along with a seminary classmate named Rupert Berger. The brothers offered their first public Masses on July 8, 1951, in St. Oswald’s church in their home village of Hufschlag -- an event known as a Doppelprimiz, or “double first.” Since concelebration was not yet normal practice, the Ratzinger brothers celebrated two separate Masses.
The scripture verse the future pope selected for his first Mass card came from Paul’s second letter to the Corinthians: “We aim not to lord over your faith, but to serve your joy.”

Copts Are Fighting Back

[AlMasryAlYoum] Sectarian clashes between a number of Muslims and Coptic Christians resurfaced in the Fateh district of Shubra al-Kheima on Monday, after two Muslims were shot and killed by a Copt on Sunday. Security forces surrounded the area, imposed a security cordon around churches in the area and arrested seven Muslims and Copts carrying weapons. In a confrontation, one police officer was shot in the foot.

A security official told Al-Masry Al-Youm that a number of Muslims went to the Shubra al-Khaima Church on Monday after learning that the killer was hiding there. Clashes erupted and gunfire was exchanged.
The official went on to say that the police imposed a security cordon around the area and arrested four Copts and three Muslims who had a machine gun, five pistols and 235 bullets in their possession.

Father Corapi's Ordinary Fails to Have Corpus Christi Procession Two Years Running

Editor:  The Old Liberal Bishop Mulvey, Father Corapi's ordinary, has neglected to have a Corpus Christi procession for the second year running.  His predecessor used to have wonderful processions and brought Our Lord close to the heart of his beloved people.  This is a Bishop who doesn't like kneeling either.  Perhaps this is so because he has no understanding of obedience.

As the West Continues to Decay and Its Cities Die

Editor:  Minneapolis has no shortage of Leftists who will employ the police to enforce their views on political correctness.  Normally, this lends itself to domestic disputes and the legal system which is heavily weighted to an agenda hostile to the family, poisonous to the children and ultimately destructive of the State and your security as a citizen. Maybe some day, your country will be returned to you, but it's unlikely to be returned, you must take it back yourself.  Point being, the GOP isn't going to stop this slide.

After being surrounded by a pack of Leftists in a heated debte, the police are called in because some of these solid citizens feel threatened.   Mostly fed up, Conservative blogger, John Hugh Gilmore goes to the bar where he's arrested by Minneapolis' finest after he refuses to leave the bar.  He was later booked downtown for "being uncooperative during arrest" and "disorderly conduct".

Not sure why this is a news story, but the local Leftist art rag loves these kinds of stories where the evil white male is hounded by mindless drones and the People's Militia.

Interestingly enough, he has legitimately praised Minnesota Senator David Hahn for calling Archbishop Nienstedt a Socialist, which he is.

The people who should have been arrrested were the nattering Left-tards surrounding Mr. Gilmore as he tried to point out the evils of multiculturalism and Cultural Marxism.

At best, he'll get a suspended sentence with community service, unless he gets some Marxist judge who hates white males.

Excommunicate Cuomo

(CNSNews.com) - As New York enacted a law late Friday that legalizes same-sex marriage in the state, the Roman Catholic bishops of New York released a statement saying they now expect efforts to enact laws that go after churches that insist on teaching the "timeless truths" about marriage and family.

"We strongly uphold the Catholic Church's clear teaching that we always treat our homosexual brothers and sisters with respect, dignity and love," the bishops said. "But we just as strongly affirm that marriage is the joining of one man and one woman in a lifelong, loving union that is open to children, ordered for the good of those children and the spouses themselves," the bishops said. "This definition cannot change, though we realize that our beliefs about the nature of marriage will continue to be ridiculed, and that some will even now attempt to enact government sanctions against churches and religious organizations that preach these timeless truths."
The statement was signed by the bishops of all eight Roman Catholic diocese in the state of New York, led by Archbishop Timothy Dolan of the Manhattan-based Archdiocese of New York. The other bishops signing the statement included Bishop Howard Hubbard of the Albany Diocese, Bishop Nicholas DiMarzio of the Brooklyn Diocese, Bishop Edward Kmiec of the Buffalo Diocese, Bishop Terry LaValley of the Ogdensburg Diocese, Bishop Matthew H. Clark of the Rochester Diocese, Bishop William Murphy of the Rockville Centre Diocese, and Bishop Robert Cunningham of the Syracuse Diocese.

The New York State Senate passed the same-sex marriage bill late Friday and Gov. Andrew Cuomo, a Catholic, signed the bill into law at 11:55 Friday night. The state assembly has passed the bill the week before. The law will go into effect in 30 days. The law was enacted just in time for New York City's annual "gay pride" parade, which takes place on Sunday. The parade runs along Fifth Avenue, passing directly in front of Saint Patrick's Cathedral, the seat of the Catholic Archdiocese of New York.

Bishop Fellay cites Vatican Official, "Church" Full of Heresies

Editor:  Bishop Fellay understands that there are those in the Vatican that see the problem clearly.
Correcting misreports

The Holy See-SSPX doctrinal discussions are already very complicated in themselves - there is no further need to distort anything. Several news sources, for example, have stated that the Superior General of the SSPX, Bishop B. Fellay, characterized "the Church" as "filled with heresies" in his sermon for the ordinations of the United States district (for an Italian example, see this).

What Fellay actually did say, however, was that this was something mentioned in the Vatican halls by Vatican officials, which he repeated:

We will continue to say that there is a crisis in the church. Sometimes it’s really frustrating because in Rome they give the impression that everything is fine, and the next day we talk to them it’s not. These are the words from the Secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith: “But you know, it’s the priests, it’s the bishops, it’s the Catholic universities: they are full of heresies!” That’s what the the Secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith told us in June 2009!

Pope Wants Universal Law for Kneeling

[Offerimus] Among other things, the papal Master of Ceremonies spoke of the ancient tradition of focusing on Christ in a physical way in the sacred liturgy, either though the eastwards orientation of the Eucharistic Prayer or where the crucifix or other image of Christ (the great panto-creator images on the apse of ancient churches) stood in for the eastward orientation. He thought that recently we have been in danger of losing this and that this is not a small detail but something of central importance, for in the past everyone (including the priest) prayed towards the same point - showing that the Lord was coming and that together we all looked towards Him.

Mgr Marini also posited that kneeling before the presence of the Lord makes it all the clearer that it really is Jesus and implies our adoration of Him. Not that we just receive Him but that we kneel before Him. To kneel accomplishes the truth of our relationship with Him - we adore. This is true freedom because man submits to slavery to many other earthly things - we bow down before these false gods - but to kneel before Christ expressses the truth and therefore reveals the dignity of man before the Lord of Life. Kneeling is the TYPICAL sign of offering our hearts and lives. The Church that kneels in the body will adore in the heart.

Kreuz.net Brings you the Red Hot Information on the Church Scene

Kreuz Calls New Archbishop of Berlin

It's unbelievable. First the media speculate wildly that Bishop Gerhard Ludwig will be named Archbishop of Berlin as soon as September -- and thereby receive not only diplomatic and political honors, but also a Cardinal's hat. Many in the Church are upset at the premature pronouncements of the Media. But now once again an arch-reactionary internet site has all of the answers.

The curse of secrecy in the Vatican couldn't be more clearly demonstrated as it through one short, but specific, announcement on the internet site kreuz.net:

The appointment of the Archbishop of Berlin will be made known before the end of the week. The auxiliary bishop of Berlin, Matthias Heinrich (56), has been chosen.

With that, all the speculation about the successor of Cardinal Georg Sterzinsky, would once again be made absurd. For it was only last Sunday that the Frankfurter Rundschau claimed to have brand new information that those in Berlin, who participate in the selection of the bishop, weren't able to agree on a candidate, and so the Vatican then suggested Müller as a wild-card. Apart from the fact that the article was poorly researched (it claimed that Müller was in Rome for an unknown reason, while in fact he is a member of the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith, which had just met in Rome), it now looks like it was wrong.

That's because kreuz.net is a phenomenon. The holocaust is regularly denied on the site. Marginalized groups like homosexuals are referred to as "Homo Perverts" or simply "sodomites". Much more often than not, the SSPX is praised while almost all of the bishops -- including Müller, but also in the first place the Pope himself -- are called incorrigible modernists because they accept the II Vatican Council. The site represents the view of the extreme right wing, and it is immune to legal attack because it is hosted somewhere in the USA.

Again and again the people who run kreutz.net, whose identities are completely unknown, are somehow able to come up with red hot information, that they actually could only be getting straight from the Vatican. And that's how it will probably go with the report of auxiliary bishop Heinrich as the new Archbishop of Berlin. It would really be a stroke of bad luck if the report turns out not to be true.

Or the other way around: Perhaps it's bad luck if the report is true.

The Glowing Heart of Religion: Cardinal Schönborn on Corpus Christi

Editor: Actually, Josephism is a heresy, not a "tradition" as Cardinal Schönborn puts it. He knows better, but then, he's always up to something.

Cardinal Christoph Schönborn at his Corpus Christi Sermon: From the "Disposition of the prayer lost to self" follows from a "inner Joy, the Joy of God himself, Who helps to bear all hardships."

Vienna (kath.net/PEW) Cardinal Christoph Schönborn recalled in his sermon at the Josef Square in the center district of Vienna the tradition [sic] of Josephism going back to the Emperor Joseph II. The "temptation of Josephism", said the Cardinal, is still with us today, namely, "to measure religion according to its social and communal usefulness". "And then we all play industriously along, in which we put all the importance of the Church for its usefulness to the State and Society."

For that reason this produced a "complete balance of success" -- the Cardinal identified, among other things, Catholic Schools, the distribution of Charity, the ecclesiastical cultural goods and the lobbying for development -- for which "we also show our thankfulness as a sign of esteem and the recognition of the side of the State, as approximately the most recently conclusive natural sign of the marketability of the Church's contribution" [which "isn't a privilege for the Church, rather the recognition of its contribution to the good of the whole"].

"Aimless, but supremely meaningful"

it is therefore a "great other: religion, faith, church as a society of faith, may not be understood according to its use. The burning heart of Religion is the purposeless mystery, and if it does not live any more from this secret, then its burning center is extinguished." The Eucharistic Adoration, therefore in the Monstrance which carries the Host, which according to the Catholic understanding is Christ himself actually present, says Cardinal Schönborn, "purposeless, but supremely meaningful". "The Mystery is adored that is present in this small piece of bread.... must have no balance of usefulness." "Finding God according to God's will! Jesus Christ is honored and adored in the form of his Eucharistic presence: That is the meaning of today's event", the "living kernel" of the Corpus Christi tradition.

"Freed from a self-justifying ritual"

Finally Cardinal Schönborn focused in his sermon at the Josefplatz, "not intended but all the more important side-effects" which "comport the purposelessness of giving adoration": First, "that we are released from this sometimes painful ritual of self-justification". Here the Cardinal recalled that many efforts of the Church for Society are actually numerous, and are gratefully recognized, "but we may not inform ourselves, that we, for that reason, are the only and the best." Even the secular society has "fantastic schools, good hospitals, fantastic social services -- without religious motivation."

"Free for Service to Neighbor"

Second, following on the "Demeanor of the selfless adoration" an "inner joy, which is the joy in God Himself, who helps bear all hardships. Finally to be free of the self-forgetful adoration of the mystery, free from one's self, free for God, free for the devoted service to neighbor." "Our duty" on Corpus Christi, "This purposeless procession, these moments of adoration bring the source to approachability, which flows from our society with new power", concluded Cardinal Schönborn his Sermon.

The Eucharist -- The Way For the Renewal of the World

Benedict XVI celebrated Corpus Christi in the Lateran Basilica.  Christendom:  the patient and pious logic of love.

Rome (kath.net/as) The Eucharist brings man to Jesus, who in the traces of Christ are capable, to give to one another, and to become a tool of the unity of the human family. This was said by Pope Benedict XVI in his sermon at the Holy Mass of Corpus Christi in the Papal Basilica and Bishops' Church of Rome, St. John Lateran. After the service there was a large crowd of people participating in the Pope's traditional Procession, which concluded with a Eucharistic blessing at the Basilica of St. Maria Maggiore.

In the Eucharist is the complete transformation of the fruits of the earth -- bread and wine -- with the goal, to transform the lives of men and in this way to begin to transform the world, says the Pope, who invited thereon, to think about the mystery of Christ, who through His self-donation on the Cross saved the world and showed the way of salvation.

Everything takes its beginning with the heart of Christ, who thanked and offered God at the Last Super and transformed the meaning of death with the power of his love. From love, Christ took the suffering to death on the Cross and transformed it with an act of giving. This transformation, which the world needs, there it saves it from within, opens it to the dimension of the Kingdom of Heaven. Actually God wants to make this renewal real in the same way for the world, to which Christ is come: "through the way, which Christ is".

For the same reason, God handed over to the world the gift of the Eucharist, to offer the possibility of salvation for every person: "In Christendom it is nothing magic. There are no short cuts", says Benedict XVI., "everything is accomplished by the pious and patient logic of Faith, by which the gentle power of God moves mountains."

For that reason, "God will proceed to renew humanity in history and the Cosmos freeing him from these chains, Whose Sacrament is the Eucharist. Through the consecrated bread and the consecrated wine, in which is body and blood are present, Christ transforms us, so that we are made like Him: he encloses us in his work of salvation and makes us capable through the Grace of the Holy Ghost, to correspond to his logic of the gift to live, as grains of wheat, which are joined to Him and in Him". In this manner these are sewn and ripened in the furrows of history in unity and peace, "which is the goal, to which we are striving after the plan of God."

In order to understand the dynamic of eucharistic Communion, Benedict XVI explained the absolute division from the "Confessions" (VII,10,18) of St. Augustine, as he reported a manner of vision, in which Jesus said to him: "I am the food of grown men, and you shall feed upon me. You will not change me, as the meal is to the body, rather you will be changed as you are transformed into Me."

In the Eucharistic Commuion "we are transformed by Christ Himself, in this manner our individuality is open, freed of its egoism and bound with the person of Christ." So the Eucharist opens man even for others and overcomes all separation.

Whoever recognizes Jesus in the Host, "perceives him also in the brother, who suffers, who hungers and thirsts, the alien, naked, sick and imprisoned; and so recognizes every man; he establishes a concrete way for all in one, who are in need". For that reason the gift of the life of Christ a special responsibility of Christian for the building of solidarity, rights, brotherly society: "especially in our time, in the globalization of a larger interdependence, with which Christendom must be concerned, that this unity can not exist without God, that is to say can not be built without true love."

The Gospel is always a goal toward the unity of the human family, "proceeding from the meaning for mutual responsibility, which we recognize in the limits of our bodies, the body of Christ, which we have learned in the Sacrament of the Altar and continue to learn that the common part, that love is the way of true justice."

The IRA is Heavily Infiltrated by Reds

Editor: the Clintonian "Peace" Process is being shuffled off like yesterday's skin and now that the Communists have been more public and proud about their heritage these days, like Amway, they've decided that the brand recognition of Communism has improved somewhat now that people have forgotten what having a bunch of self-righteous atheists run everything is all about.

The IRA has been seriously riddled with Communists in the past, and this looks to be just another example of that political realization happening by hiding behind old sectarian feuds.  Why can't we have a Catholic Revolution against modernist Bishops instead, where we get Bishops who don't put us to shame, and don't make unnecessary concessions to our enemies?

Northern Ireland is enduring some of its worst rioting in a decade, heightening sectarian tensions as the region prepares for the climax of the marching season that every year tests the peace process.
Over two nights starting June 20, shots were fired and masked rioters threw petrol bombs in east Belfast, a traditional Protestant stronghold in the city, as police tried to prevent them entering the Catholic Short Strand estate.
The Ulster Volunteer Force, a Protestant terror group, coordinated the violence, police say. The eruption damped the celebrations for Northern Ireland golfer Rory McIlroy, who won the U.S. Open on June 19, and cast a shadow over the region’s efforts to emerge from recession.
