Viennese Cardinal Snubs Princely Family of Liechtenstein, and the Church

Editor: The Viennese Cardinal is no respecter of rank and privilege. He gives the runaround to everyone who's Catholic. At least someone is looking out for the education of children in Austria.

Erase it: The Austrian Bishops have been playing a game for a year with the spiritual health of minors using devilish religion books.

Prinz Gundakar and Prinzessin Marie von und zu Liechtenstein have, because of ecclesiastical bureaucratic decay, been sent from Pontius to Pilate, while Bishops and the Vatican turn diplomatic pirouettes.

The two marrieds are living in Lower Austria and are responsible for five school age children.

Diocesan Approved Deviltry

In October 2008 the married couple turned to the President of the Austrian Bishop's Conference, Christoph Cardinal Schönborn.

They requested that he eliminate material hostile to the Catholic Faith -- with Episcopal approval -- being used in Catholic religious instruction.

It concerned:

- the "Graz Series" for Middle School. They contain the various parts "I am by you", "With you I can grow", "Travelling with you", "Together we'll make the world".

- the hand book "Joy for Faith",

- a series of writings of the Old Liberal Viennese Religious educator, Martin Jäggle, with the instruction text "You like me", "you make my life beautiful", "You lead me", "You trust me".

The applicants looked for the good advice of Gertrud Dörner.

With her help, it was demonstrated that the offensive texts falsify the Faith.

In April 2009 the Old Liberal Austrian Bishop's Conference struck down the appeal.

The Couple von und zu Lieschtenstein 2009 made an application for retraction of the judgment. This was struck down in July of the same year.

The Long Way to Rome

The couple weighed against the decision again, but this time with the Congregation for the Faith.

The appeal was sent back on November 2009 for formal reasons.

Prinz Gundakar reapplied his appeal to the Apostolic Signatura in November 2009.

This was remanded by the parents in February 2010 to the Congregation for Clergy.

Still the prince turned from this in the same month.

Incredible but true: In March 2010 -- almost a year and a half after first writing Cardinal Schönborn -- the appeal was received.

The Apostolic Signatura handed the problem down to the Congregation of Clergy. This office got down to business.

They asked Cardinal Schönborn for documents and information and a deep study of the recommendations of Frau Döner from the Congregation of Faith.

Cynical Bishops

Cynically, the Austrian Bishops Conference had already admitted in April of April 2009 that "in part" Frau Dörners observations on the faith unfriendly religion books were accurate.

And: "The corresponding hand books show, that these problems have their origin in questionable theological positions as well as in dangerous tendencies, to devalue the validity of faith".

These determinations are blank cynicism: For the episcopaly criticized books were considered by the Bishops to have been effectively used for Catholic religious instruction.

Pulling the Head from the Sling

The Congregation for Clergy called the Cardinal to address the situation.

The Cardinal explained November 2010 in a letter that the Austrian Bishops in the mean time had published a new lesson plan.

The incriminated school books were therefore no longer new, rather replaced in the whole by a new school book series.

Therefore it "is not meaningful" to correct errors contained, which the Congregation of the Faith had correctly ascertained, "for the short time frame for which this series of elementary school books are in use."

He will take efforts to explain the various errors concerned and inform the religion instructors in the use of these religion books so that they won't disseminate these identified errors --- joked the Cardinal.

Irresponsible Wolves

On 22. Februar 2011 the Congregation for Clergy explained that the reason for the conflict has been isolated, since the proposed concerns which were specified in the appeal were handled "in an acceptable way".

In other words: The Austrian Bishops have been risking the good of the souls of persons under age.

Now they've availed themselves of a hush-hush action.

The responsibility for this outrageous scandal doesn't convince anyone.

Scranton Diocese Bans Micheal Voris for Being Too Catholic: Banned in Scranton

Editor: And some people are faulting Father Corapi for questioning Corpus Christi Diocese's treatment of him? Sounds rather like a certain other someone who was "Banned in Boston" a half-century ago.

Regarding Michael Voris

Posted on: 04-7-2011 Posted in: News
The Diocese of Scranton has determined that Mr. Voris will not be allowed to speak in a Diocesan or parish facility. After these engagements were scheduled, the Diocese became aware of concerns about this individual’s views regarding other religious groups. In videos posted on the Internet, Mr. Voris makes comments that certainly can be interpreted as being insensitive to people of other faiths. The Catholic Church teaches us to respect all people, regardless of their faith tradition.

Although the Diocese shares Mr. Voris’ support of efforts to protect human life, his extreme positions on other faiths are not appropriate and therefore the Diocese cannot host him.

But if you want non-Catholic schools and blasphemous plays, Scranton Diocese is more than happy to disrespect the Catholic Faith Tradition.

Cardinal Kasper Promotes a Reform of Our Reforms

Liturgy is worship, not only a community celebration.  The experience of the sublime and of the tremendum mysterium is the curative.
His Grace, Cardinal Kasper

Vallendar (kath.net) Cardinal Kasper promotes an "in depth going reform of our Liturgical reforms."  It needs a "renewed liturgical-sacramental culture", said the Curial Cardinal, who was till 2010 the President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, according to 'kirchensite.de" from a report from KNA about ++Kasper's lecture at the symposium "The Liturgy of the Church" of the "Cardinal Walter Kasper Institute for Theology-Ecumenism-Spirituality" at the Philosophy and Theology Faculty of Vallendar.

Liturgy must not be desacralized and robbed of its sublimity, explained the former Bishop of Rottenburg-Stuttgart, because it is worship, not only a community celebration.  Just as in our civilization, which is leveling,  secular and thoroughly void of meaning, the sublimity and the tremendum mysterium also brings the curative.

AFRICA/CÔTE D'IVOIRE - The Nuncio in Abidjan denounces the serious violations of human rights and gives witness to the aid to victims provided by the Church
Abidjan (Agenzia Fides) - “Civilians are the first victims: they suffer serious violence,” says Archbishop Ambrose Madtha, Apostolic Nuncio to Côte d'Ivoire, to the French section of Aid to the Church in Need (Aide à l’Église en Détresse, AED), which sent Fides a statement about it. “There have been many killings (by the blows from heavy weapons, slaughters, people burned alive), there are kidnappings, looting, etc.”, complains the Nuncio. “Families are fleeing the violence and taking refuge mostly in churches.” The Diocese of Man (particularly the cities of Abidjan and Duékoué, where mass graves were discovered of hundreds of corpses) and the Archdiocese of Abidjan and Gagnoa are the most affected.

“The displaced people are really deprived of everything, because they were forced to leave everything in order to escape,” said Archbishop Madtha. “They are lacking food, clean water, medicine and clothes. We are assisting these people by sharing with them the little that we have. But faced with the seriousness of the situation and their great need, we need help,” says the Nuncio.

The AED sent 25,000 euros as emergency relief funds. “We are not specialists in emergency aid,” says Marc Fromager, Director of AED, “but we can not remain indifferent to the drama that is unfolding before our eyes.”

Today, 6 April, Pope Benedict XVI launched an appeal for an end to violence in Côte d'Ivoire. “With great concern I continue to follow the dramatic events that the dear people of Côte d'Ivoire and Libya are experiencing,” adding that he issues “a new and heartfelt appeal to all parties, that they may begin the work of peace and dialogue and avoid further bloodshed.” (L.M.) Father Corapi is [not] Back on EWTN.

[NB: Obviously, since the time this was posted, a lot has changed. For a brief period of time after EWTN stopped broadcasting Father Corapi, some affiliate stations continued broadcasting this stuff. In any case, there are people far more irresponsible than Father Corapi's worst detractors are portraying him to be, working for the Church, attending Bishop's conferences, doing harm. Take Bishop Hubbard, for example, or hundreds of others. -Tancred, 11/20/11, King St. Edward.]

Editor: There were a few out there who wanted to compare apples and oranges when it came to Father Corapi. They tried to compare him to the effeminate and gay friendly Cardinal Bernardine and other soft-spoken and ineffectual Bishops who've been accused, credibly or not. They also complained about how it was his celebrity status which brought him down, irresponsibly speculating on something which hadn't happened as if it had. There are quite a few out there who can barely conceal their resentment at Father Corapi, which has taken a moment like this to make itself heard like chorus of malignant toads. Despite the fact that priests who are accused of homosexual predation don't get suspended when they're accused, credibly or not, there isn't such leniency for Father Corapi, he's got too many enemies. Of course, there's been a long standing animus against Fr. Corapi from the beginning by people of unsavory connections and activities.

Here's a statement from EWTN itself:

Of course, there's no official statement as yet, but Father Corapi was back on EWTN's Communications Director, Michelle Johnson, courtesy of timo.

“EWTN is not airing Father’s programs. If local EWTN radio affiliates wish to air programs to which they have the rights, they certainly may.”

Here's a letter he wrote, with accompanying links, which underscore why he is being persecuted like this. A lot of people who want to give an undue amount of credit to this "zero tolerance" policy by the Bishops don't talk about things like this:

Fr. Corapi letter written in 1984

by tantamergo

"I received a link via e-mail to a site that contains a letter sent by then seminarian John Corapi to a correspondent who had sent him a religious medal. The letter is really very frank and very telling, much more than a mere thank you note, it goes into the reasons for Corapis vocation and his divinely inspired mission in the Church. Its something that should be read in light of recent events. An excerpt below:

http://www.fathercorapidekalb.com/images/Father_John_Corapi_1.jpg
Before I ever heard of The Message of Garabandal The Mother of God, in a very personal way, made it known to me. She made me acutely aware of certain things concerning the Eucharist. These abuses I became aware of cause me much suffering. I often cry at the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and I very often cry at night, not sleeping at all.

Whenever I would doubt this insight, almost immediately I would be given a sign to confirm that what I was feeling was correct. Some examples: (1) Seeing the priest at a church daily fail to Purify the Paten & Chalice and profanely disgarding the consecrated Host and Precious Blood down a drain! (2) Hearing homilies that state that no longer do we owe primary allegiance to the Pope, but rather to local Bishops who are more aware of our needs! (3) Listening to a Diocesan Vocation Director tell me that his Diocese would not be interested in Ordaining any man who was not open to Priests being able to marry and to serve a limited term as a Priest (Like an Army enlistment)! To say that I suffer to hear these things would be to say the least. However, there is a purpose to it all. My dear friend, the Mother of God, wants me to be aware of these dangers so that I can help her to wage war against the enemy. She has given me a vocation to the Priesthood so that I might help her to bring back holiness to her Sons Church and end these horrible abuses of the Eucharist.

There are many who do not wish to see me become a Priest because of my fierce loyalty to the Vicar of Christ and my outspoken defense of him and my condemnation of certain irreverent and even profane practices I see today. I have enemies because of this. So too did Our Beloved Saviour have enemies.

I have had to endure abuse and suffering because my views are now not popular with the local clergy. They call me a fanatic and say my views are outdated. Luckily, there are 3 archbishops (retired) who agree with me and protect me gaining admittance for me to a good Orthodox Seminary where my views are generally shared.

I know very well that my vocation will be that of a soldier engaged in a mortal combat. There will be more and worse suffering for all of us to endure. That is fine, for, as we know, Our Blessed Lord did not tell us to take up a bed of Roses and follow him. He said to take up a CROSS and follow Him! By the Grace of Almighty God and the Holy assistance and intercession of Our Good Friend The Mother of God I shall do so!

Being a weak and miserable creature that I am, I am much in need of Prayer. Please pray for me that I might be all that Our Blessed Mother wishes me to be.
This letter was written in 1984, when Fr. Corapi was still in seminary. He would not be ordained until 1991, in Rome, because his path to ordination was frought with roadblocks thrown up by those who were opposed to his becoming a priest. 27 years is a long time in a life, but it is difficult to see how the man, already fully adult and mature, could wander so drastically from the mission he lays out here to have engaged in the activities of which he is accused. Definitely, this is the Corapi we have witnessed in so many TV and radio programs.

We must always be wary of the world and the wiles of the devil. Greater men than Corapi have fallen so pray, alot, for him, his apostolate, and the Church. Especially for good and devoted, faithful priests, and good priestly formation. Pray for the instillation of the true Faith in our seminaries. "

Perhaps Bishops Will Get Locked Up?

Editor: one such committee was tried at an Abbey in the United States, and it failed abysmally. The man who founded the thing resigned from it because the Abbey and the people it was designed to over watch stonewalled it, no pun intended. It is impossible in the absence of the mere understating of what Justice is to assume that these people can be trusted to do anything but participate in the auto-destruction of the Catholic Church. Many parts of the Church are so infested by what Archbishop Lefebvre has called, "Spiritual Aids", that we have no right to expect them to recover without Divine assistance, and perhaps even anger.  Here's the call from Belgian lawmakers to "reform" something they couldn't fix even if they knew what the problem was.  It seems mighty odd that men who have been running Europe into the ground since World War II shoud expect to do much for the Catholic Church, but there it is.

The Seal of the Confessional Can be More Flexible.

One consequence of the abuse-hoax promoted by the Bishops lies in that which the-- anyways hardly used -- secret of the confessional is made "more flexible".

(kreuz.net) In Belgium a Parliamentary Special committee for sexual abuse will provide a final court of decision in and outside of the Church. This was reported by the Belgian website 'deredactie.be' this 31st of March.

The report has 400 pages and contains conclusions and about seventy recommendations.

The Belgian Bishops have already explained that they will bend to the recommendations.

The report proposes that the Church should erect an Arbitration Panel, which will adjudicate possible damages by abuse victims.

Additionally Bishops should -- even if they haven't committed abuse themselves -- be held responsible for the deeds of their subordinate priests.

Additionally, the secret of the Confessional according to the report of 'deredactie.be' will be made "more flexible", so that certain cases can be brought to justice.

The obligation to report incidents, which are made known in the confessional, are not, in any case, demanded by the report.

Therefore a committee is to be supplied so that all recommendations are moved into practice.

Slain by Progress: Pope Honors Great Soldiers in the War against Modernism

Editor: Reminding people of the long standing horrors of Godless secularism is a very positive thing.

Vatican City, Apr 4, 2011 / 01:41 pm (CNA/EWTN News).- Twenty-two martyrs of the Spanish Civil War and a priest beheaded during the French Revolution will be declared "blessed" by the Church in coming months.

On April 2, the Pope met with Cardinal Angelo Amato, the prefect of the Vatican's Congregation for the Causes of Saints, to review canonization causes up for advancement. The Vatican announced April 2 that Pope Benedict XVI had approved 29 beatification decrees and recognized the "heroic virtue" of six candidates for sainthood.

The causes of Father Francisco Esteban Lacal of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate and 21 of his companions – among them Oblate students, religious and priests – were approved for martyrdom. They were killed in 1936 along with a layman, Candido Castan San Jose, after a series of persecutions against them for their work in religious communities and parishes.

Switzerland's Bishop Huonder of Chur Triumphs in Rome

Editor A sign of still more great things to come? After reports in the media, a lot of international support including a Support the Bishop of Chur petition which was circulated widely, the Roman Authorities have ruled in favor of this goodly shepherd fighting against the Church-tax structure of Switzland's Old Liberal Elite.

Like Hitler in His Bunker

The Roman journey of Bishop Vitus Huonder of Chur was a triumphal march.  by Maria Huppi.
Old Liberal Papers have fired heavy rounds at Msgr Hunder.

(kreuz.net)  Bishop Vitus Hunder's Rome trip in the past week was an explosive success.

Pope Benedict XVI and the involved Curial Prelates stood behind him and encouraged him to forge ahead.

The prayers of thousands of his friends have been heard:  The Bishop will stay.

His enemies did not succeed in leading the Vatican head down the garden path.

The Old Liberal Bishop haters are beside themselves with fury.

They must realize that they are now sitting like Adolf Hitler in his Bunker.

It didn't help them to threaten to leave the Church.

A bleeding of the heterodox Swiss Church-tax system means a strengthening of the Catholic church.

Without money the Old Liberal Church-tax profiteers quickly lose their alleged interest in the Church.

Today the situation is much better than in the 90s.   Then it was possible with the help of John Paul II to topple the Confessor Bishop Wolfgang Haas.

The monopoly on information back then was in the hands of the anti-Church Media.

Also many enemies of the Church back then have retired, died or have left the Church in the meantime.

Additionally the most recent Theologian Pamphlet has brought the Curia and the Pope against the Old Liberals.

From Vatican circles it is to be heard that one works behind the scenes, doing the handiwork of anti-Catholic powers in the Church.

The recently released reform Decree on Philosophy Study is to be seen in connection with this event.

A program is required for the academic year 2012/13 as it has always existed in traditional institutions.

Otherwise it is according to the implementation for the Summorum Pontificum that the Old Mass is required in all Catholic Seminaries for priestly formation.

Now we will learn who is Catholic and who is schismatic.

Joy to the Traditionalist struggle against the Old Liberals.

New furor over France's Muslims as veil ban looms

TRAPPES, France (AP) — Karima has a plan. If police stop her for wearing a veil over her face, she'll remove it — then put it back on once they're out of sight. If that doesn't work, she'll stay home, or even leave France.
For Muslim women who cover their faces with veils, it is the moment for making plans. Starting April 11, a new law banning garments that hide the face takes effect. Women who disobey it risk a fine, special classes and a police record.

The law comes as Muslims face what some see as a new jab at their religion: President Nicolas Sarkozy's party is holding a debate Tuesday on the place of Islamic practices, and Islam itself, in strictly secular but traditionally Catholic France.

Pope May Offer the Society a Personal Ordinariate

Msgr Galarreta leads Rome Talks for SSPX
Editor: More speculation arising, surrounding Bishop Williamson's statement last year about the possibility of a Motu Propio.

The Holy see is ascertaining the possibility of the unifying of the Society of St. Pius X by erecting a Personal Ordinariat.

As far as concerns the question of a form in church law for the Society founded by Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre,  the Vatican appears to be considering the erection of a Personal Ordinariat.  since Autumn 2010 Canon lawyers have been studying this idea.  One such canonical solution for the Society put in a quasischismatic situation by the 1988 Episcopal consecrations will be proposed by the summer.  This was reported on the French site Summorum Pontificum observatus.

In the French rea of Catholic traditionalism it is presently an exchange of blows taking place.  The page Disputationes Theologicae, which is made up of members affiliated with  the Institute of the Good Shepherd is driven to view the talks between the Holy See and the Society of St. Pius X as "abortive".  Similarly, American Vaticanist John Allen understands from explanations from Abbé de Caquera and Bishop Williamson, one of the four Bishops of the Society.

Summorum Pontificum observatus sees behind the voices, which have attempted to put the discussions in a negative light, "an active minority of French priests of the Pius Society" at work, "who dismiss canonical reognition".  These critics are internal to the society to which belong the French District Superior, Bishops Tissier de Mallerais as well, who have described Pope Benedict XVI earlier this year as "supermodernistic", according to Messsa in latino.

Summorum Pontificum observatus reports also the voices which speak of a failure of the talks between Rome and the Society being "unfounded".   The emerging  offer of the Holy See, to erect for the Society a Personal Ordinaria as a canonical structure within the Church, is a "treat opportunity".  They would secure the independence of the Society from the Diocesan Bishops.  It is a particular concern of the Pope to offer the Society a solution which is canonically reliable.

75 of 100 victims of religious intolerance are Christians - Metropolitan Hilarion

Moscow, March 24, Interfax - Head of the Synodal Department for External Church Relations Metropolitan Hilarion cited data according to which Christians prevail among victims of religious intolerance.

"According to the data of non-governmental organization Aid To The Church In Need 75 of 100 victims killed from religious intolerance have been Christians in recent years," the Metropolitan said in his interview to Izvestia daily on Thursday.

The Metropolitan points out that in the majority of states where Christian minority is being persecuted, Christians have lived for many centuries, "even when local political regimens declared themselves more radical than today."

"It is today when all states have undertaken obligations to protect human rights, outflow of Christians from certain countries has increased. I believe it proves the failure of modern world policy on religious freedom and lack of interest to religious education," the Metropolitan said.

According to him, Christians are often fell victims of political mistakes made by Western states.

"The situation is difficult in Iraq. According to some data, half of 1,4 million Christian population has left the country since 2003. Without giving any evaluations to political situation in Iraq before NATO interference, I'd like to mention that Christians there were not physically exterminated. Foreign military invasion has made many Christians hostages of insufficiently considered NATO actions," the Metropolitan said.

NH GOP leader calls bishop a 'pedophile pimp'

Associated Press Friday, April 1, 2011 The Republican leader of the New Hampshire House on Friday called Roman Catholic Bishop John McCormack a "pedophile pimp" who should have been led from the Statehouse in handcuffs after speaking at a rally criticizing a state budget proposal. McCormack was among about a dozen speakers at Thursday's rally to protest deep cuts to social services included in the House's $10.2 billion budget.

Rep. D.J. Bettencourt of Salem took issue Friday, writing on his Facebook page that McCormack had no business urging lawmakers to protect the vulnerable, given his role in the clergy sex abuse scandal in the last decade. Before being named bishop of Manchester in 1998, McCormack served as a top aide to Cardinal Bernard Law in Boston, where the Catholic sex abuse scandal began and where he was in charge of investigating sexual misconduct allegations.

In 2002, McCormack averted unprecedented criminal charges against the New Hampshire diocese by agreeing that it had harmed children by moving abusive priests from parish to parish. "Would the Bishop like to discuss his history of protecting the 'vulnerable?'" Bettencourt wrote. "This man is a pedophile pimp who should have been led away from the State House in handcuffs with a rain coat over his head in disgrace. He has absolutely no moral credibility to lecture anyone."

St. John's Abbey to mail letter about abuse to prep school alumni

Editor: The word "survivors" sounds so wussy.  The people who were preyed upon by homosexual clergy and have decided to tell about what had happened to them are witnesses and agents of vengeance perhaps, but "survivor" sounds intolerably Marxist.   It's really tragic the way that the people who're involved in legitimate claims are also being used by other agendas, notably anti-religious agendas like the ACLU.  If the Bishops think that by acting like a mouthpiece for the DNC in their frequent pronouncements in favor of Democratic Party foreign and domestic policy, they're in for a rude awakening. In any event, here's what's happening.
COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. [St. Cloud Times] — St. John's Abbey and the survivors of sexual misconduct by current and former abbey members have reached an agreement about the distribution of a letter signed by two survivors and Abbot John Klassen.
Writing the letter and distributing it to former students at St. John's Prep School in Collegeville was a key part of a settlement announced Monday that ended nine of 12 legal actions against the abbey.
However, the St. Cloud Times reports confusion soon developed about how to distribute the letter which names 17 current and former abbey members who have been credibly accused of sexual misconduct.
The agreement jointly announced Friday calls for the abbey to send the letter to anyone who attended the school and has their address on file with the alumni office.

St. John's Abbey to mail letter about abuse to prep school alumni

The Abbey at St. John's was required to publish the perpetrators, but Chicago Archdiocese, with its strange and troubled past, has refused to do so.  Actually, we'd like to see Fr. Andrew Greeley's alleged list of all the Chicago Boys' Club members.  Since he suffered an "accident" recently, we still haven't heard about that list, if it exists or not.

Marquette Celebrates Diversity, But Not For Catholickes

Oh, the Irony
Editor: Leftist professors can drag the Church in the mud, insult their superiors and generally give a very bad report of themselves in the most petulant and insolent of ways, while this employee is facing disciplinary action for criticizing his superiors for being less than Catholic in a very responsible and mature fashion.  We just got this story from Badger Catholic in Wisconsin about a deplorable situation at Marquette "Jesuit" University.   As if the Jesuits in the Middle west weren't in enough trouble already. Academic Freedom, anyone?
Perhaps it was the blogger/employees criticism of the all-holy "Queer Studies" program in place, viz:
The other issue raised was the fact that we had mentioned a student’s research paper, and were accused of “criticizing” it. In reality, we did not mention the student’s name, and the point of the blog post was that “‘gender studies’ has been added to ‘women’s studies’ signals a move toward a homosexual emphasis, as shown by one of the papers completed by a WGST fellow this summer . . . .” The blog post was, quite simply, a comment on the fact that the Women’s and Gender Studies program has begun to slip “queer studies” into the university.

Debi Vinnedge, the director of the pro-life organization, tells LifeNews.com today that, in 2010, her group wrote to Senomyx CEO Kent Snyder and pointed out that moral options for testing their food additives could and should be used. But when Senomyx ignored her letter, the group  wrote to the companies Senomyx listed on their website as “collaborators” warning them of public backlash and threatened boycott. They included food giants PepsiCo, Kraft Foods, Campbell Soup, Solae and Nestlé. (See update below.)

Msgr Aloysius Winter is Dead

Editor: He said the Latin Mass for the local Diocese. He will be missed by many.

A Catholic Priest

The former rector of the Theological Faculty of Fulda, Prelate Aloysius Winter (79) is dead, according to the 'Fulda Zeitung' yesterday.

The story about his injuries was run on Saturday in Saarland which happened as a result of a robbery in his home in Fulda.

Prelate Winter was attacked on 25. June 2010 in his home in Haimbacher Street in Fulda by a then, 31 year old heroin addict.

The perpetrator broke the bedroom door of his victim down and struck like a beast against the clergyman.

A coroner at the University of Giessen has been directed in legal proceedings to report that the defendant had kicked and stomped his victim at least eight times on the head and trunk.

That had produced among other things, a hemorrhage. This is something from which the Prelate will not recover.

A few days after the accident he lay in a Fulda Clinic in a coma and had to have a stomach tube put in, sat on a wheel chair and was cared for around the clock.

Then he came to the rehabilitation center near Bernkastel an der Mosel.

"After that he started to speak in complete sentences, then his health came crashing down" -- said Brother Wilhelm according to Br. Wilhelm.

Since this time Winter can no longer communicate with his environment.

And in order to better serve his health his relatives decided to take him to a new convalescent home, placing him in the area of his birth area of Perl-Besch in Saarland.

"Thre we have visited him daily -- up to his last day. He is said to have died at five o'clock", explained his brother Wilhelm.

According to his own desire he will be interred at his birth place.

Prelate Winter was described by all of his acquaintances as someone with a good temperament but was also very ascertive.

Irish Minister Wants to Strip Catholic Church of 50% of Its Schools

Editor: abuse-hoax = Catholic Church out of education... just like in Germany in the 30s when Catholics were bombarded with rare occasions of sex abuse by the National Socialist hate-media.

Catholic Church said to be ‘shocked’ by Education Minister’s plan

29/03/11

EDUCATION MINISTER RUAIRÍ Quinn’s decision to transfer more than 1,500 church schools to other patrons by next January has ‘shocked’ the Catholic Church.

The Irish Independent reports today (http://www.independent.ie/national-news/church-shocked-by-quinn-plan-for-schools-2598203.html) that church leaders have argued that his start date was too ambitious and that though it welcomed the forum, sources said the church had first raised the issue of an over supply of catholic schools and that they were finalising their own consultation on the issue.

The Catholic Schools Partnership is to publish a position paper next week and the results of its consultation process will be analysed by representatives from all dioceses at four regional assemblies in June of this year.

Apparently, Archibshop Martin is very exited about handing over the Catholic Schools to the Godless materialists who run Ireland's government.

Progressive Theologian Being Given Ultimatum

Editor: The Maryknolls will finally be forced to boot dissenting Father Roy Bourgeois if he doesn't recant his opposition to Church teaching. No doubt there will be complaints about medievalisms and draconian tactics from oppressive Rome, but it's only fair since people like Father Bourgeois have been oppressing their students and seminarians with their arbitrary and irrational non-sense for more than two hundred years in the Catholic Church.

RELIGIOUS REALITY CHECK

buy microsoft office 2010 home and professional oem download March 30, 2011

Catholic League president Bill Donohue offers a religious reality check based on some news items from today:

Bart Ehrman doesn't believe in God, which is why he is just the right guy to teach religion at the University of North Carolina. A member of the "Jesus Seminar," a motley crew of religious cynics, he wants us to view the Bible with great skepticism. But not his writings—we should all swallow his dogmatic convictions. His latest book contends that the Bible is a forgery, though he is unable to identify who the cheaters are. Unfortunately for Bart, it was just reported that Biblical scholars believe they have uncovered a collection of ancient texts in a Jordanian cave that may constitute the earliest Christian writings.

Patrick S. Cheng is a seminary professor who also needs a reality check. His brilliance shines in the Huffington Post: he argues that "Christianity is queer because radical love lies at the heart of both Christianity and the queer experience." Perhaps he should read Leviticus.

Fr. Roy Bourgeois has had three years to recant his opposition to the Catholic Church's teachings on criteria for the priesthood. If he doesn't do so in 15 days, the Maryknolls will be forced to kick him out. This will no doubt please him, which is why there will be no reality check.

Someone's Dug up Father Corapi's Military Records Again

Edit  GMT 0.105 June 22, A lot of interest in Father Corapi's military records, again since Mark Shea, a non-soldier if I've ever seen one, has decided to continue his dark Crusade.   First, bear in mind that military records are notoriously inaccurate and that a lot can happen, especially given the irregular nature of Special Forces units in general.  Father Corapi may have also served on a B-Team [which doesn't require the intensive training of A-Team members] and worked in an SF Training unit which was actually at Fort Knox during the time he was assigned there as an Infantryman.  It may be possible to belong to a B-Team without having jump wings and it's also understood that you can move up to advanced  parachute training, and the, like later on.

I'll also point out that I"m confident that most of the people commenting are rear-echelon types who have no special knowledge on the Special Forces or the historical time period being discussed, the height of the Vietnam War just before Tet, when the demand for men and material was high.

As noted before and elsewhere, Father Corapi is challenging the authority of the Bishops to pass rules and ordinances like this, making a priest guilty till proven innocent. CNS points out that no part of Canon Law was cited.

This copy of Father's military file has been floating around at least for four years, and others have wanted to "debunk" Father Corapi as well. Well, it's stuck over on Free Republic and it's a bit hard to read some of the later entries, and it can look bad if you don't know how to read the document and the acronyms. You have to realize that there are no things that jump out at you saying, "this is a super secret, special forces trooper." After looking at Wikipedia, it says that Father John was sworn in on April 16th 1967. After finishing up his Basic at what looks like it may be Fort Gordon, he was enrolled at Fort McClellan on 23 June of 1967, where he was first in Charley Company, Second Platoon, 3rd Battalion of the 175th Advanced Infantry Training Brigade. It's entirely consistent with his story that while he was training as a basic Infantryman, he was already committed to be Special Forces, and looking forward to going with relish. He then attends a course where he appears to have gone to Ft. Knox for a time. That's mostly Armor there, so who knows what he was doing there but it lists his MOS as 11B10 Infantry, and states that he is a attached as "student". It's not too far from Fort Campbell where there is a Special Forces Unit and Air Assault.

Basically, you can come from any MOS and be Green Beret. Father Corapi's military record is ENTIRELY consistent with his descriptions in his rousing speeches.

In fact, this file has been floating around for a while and was dealt with very well by another poster at the Catholic Answers Forum, here, it's very exhaustive and does a good job of defending Father Corapi. It would make sense that Father Corapi was hurt and after becoming an Infantryman, was sent to a more appropriate job as a clerk typist in Germany working for a General, when it was very dangerous with all the Bader Meinhof types roaming around.

Mount Athos is Losing its Tax-Exempt Status

The Greek Government is insisting on a stronger contract so that the Orthodox State Church and also the Athos Monasteries can reach their savings goals.

Athens (kath.net/KAP) With a sharp note of protest, the Parliament will finalize a decision by Prime Minister Giorgios Papandreou to withdraw the tax privileges of the Athenite Monastery, the Synaxis. This touches upon a Monastic property, which lies outside of the peninsula of Athos. Observers have predicted that this will further alienate Athos from legislation at Athens. So, earlier, the Ministry for Northern Greece in Thessaloniki took over control of the Pilgrimage Bureau to the Holy Mountain of Orthodoxy from the Monastic Republic.

The Greek Government insisted on a stronger contract so that the Orthodox National Church as well as the Monastery of Athos can stay within their budget, in order to save the nation from impending bankruptcy. The State Church is the largest land owner in the country; they were among other things, implicated in a large real-estate scandal. Unrecognized for self-determination and special status in the EU, the Monastic Republic of the "Holy Mountain of Athos" is subordinated to the Greek Department of Finance. According to the conclusion of the suzerainty of the Ottoman Empire over Greece in the Peace of Lausanne in 1923, Athens protected Athos under different exemptions from duties and taxes.

Till now the Cloister of Athos has enjoyed a tax exemption. They occupy a large part of their income from real-estate in Greece outside of the Monastic Free State. There are very expensive inner-Athens properties managed by the Monastic Foundation.

This is Your Church on Modernism. Any Questions?

Editor: People indifferent and lackadaisical about Catholicism. People are leaving the Catholic Church in droves. Why not, people need the truth and many administrators have hijacked Catholic education and turned it inside out. "Truth, what's that," they say.

No interest in the religious life. Religious life can be a tremendous sacrifice. Many exemplaires of religious life, however, seem to be little more than overly comfortable academics and social workers.

This is all part of the auto-destruction of the Church, or "church-sponsored" suicide.

Wow, seventy percent of people don't believe in Real Presence...Wow.

Rick Santorum Says Abortion Makes Problems for Social Security

Editor: Interesting. it was never a good investment anyway. Sounds like someone wants to be President.

CONCORD, N.H. — In his latest trip to New Hampshire, Republican Rick Santorum says the Social Security system would be in much better shape if there were fewer abortions.

The former Pennsylvania senator and potential presidential candidate was asked about Social Security during an interview on WESZ-AM radio in Laconia on Tuesday morning.

He says the system has design flaws, but the reason it is in big trouble is that there aren't enough workers to support retirees. He blamed that on what he called the nation's abortion culture. He says that culture, coupled with policies that do not support families, deny America what it needs – more people.

Santorum has been a frequent visitor to New Hampshire, which holds the earliest presidential primary.

ACLU's Goal is Communism

Editor: Jeff Anderson is an ACLU member and given much money to them. You have to wonder what his motivations are when he aggressively litigates against slow moving targets like the Oregon Jesuit Province. Here's the link article from Spero News:

Ironic, isn't it? So much for "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness." By combining straightforward segments from each ACLU rendering we arrive with an accurate portrayal. One that cuts through the doublespeak:

The ACLU is...working daily in courts, legislatures and communities. Communism is the goal.

In 1931, just eleven years after the ACLU's inception, the US Congress convened a Special House Committee to Investigate Communist Activities. On the ACLU it reported:

The American Civil Liberties Union is closely affiliated with the communist movement in the United States, and fully 90 percent of its efforts are on behalf of communists who have come into conflict with the law. It claims to stand for free speech, free press and free assembly, but it is quite apparent that the main function of the ACLU is an attempt to protect the communists.

Attorney: St. John's Abbey abuse suits settled

Editor: Make a decision. What is St. John's Abbey anyway? You want to be social workers, political activists, cavaliers or Monks? Is there anyone who thinks that this place will change its stripes without significant personnel changes? You can tell on the Prey, Tell blog that nothing's changed over there. They're still making excuses for irresponsible behavior and dishonesty over there.

If they're not capable of following even simple rules with respect to praying the Liturgy, you can't expect much else of them. It's probably a safe bet that they'll continue living double lives like David Berger, and they will continue ignoring whatever comes from Rome that doesn't comfit with their lifestyle, including the vow of chastity they took. It was part of Benedict of Nursia's famous Rule.

Anyhow who has read the rule, and knows this Modernist place of diabolical delusion will understand the great abyss that separates how these men live the Rule of St. Benedict and the Rule itself; sexual continence is more of a suggestion and don't get us started about poverty. Like parasitic worms, the Monks do almost none of their own labor; They subcontract, again, forget about the rule of St. Benedict on that subject:

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — Nine men who filed lawsuits claiming sexual abuse at the hands of monks or priests have reached settlements with St. John's Abbey in Collegeville, the plaintiffs' attorney said Monday.

The accused clergy all taught at St. John's Preparatory School or were assigned to parishes, attorney Jeff Anderson said. He declined to disclose a dollar amount.

The alleged abuse occurred from the 1960s to 2004, Anderson said. At least one of the alleged offenders is now dead.

The settlement requires St. John's to send a letter to anyone who attended the prep school, disclosing the names of alleged offenders against minors, Anderson said.

Anderson distributed a draft of the letter, which names 17 priests and brothers, to reporters on Monday. Anderson said he expects Abbot John Klassen, who heads the monastery, to sign the letter according to the terms of the settlement.

None of the men accused in the lawsuits still works at the school and none has ever been criminally prosecuted, Anderson said.

More Accusations Against Leftist "Monks" at Modernist Monastery

Saint John's is a place where you can see a performance of the Vagina Monologues, see modernist architecture, watch pagan ceremonies and see conferences promoting vice of every kind. What you'll be hard pressed to find is Catholicism, because they haven't taught much resembling it for years, just enough to fool those donors who might be attached to it, and the occasional Opus Dei member on the board. Just allow us to maintain plausible deniability, that's all we ask.

Abbot John Klassen continues to deceive. Using Kinsey style tactics to exploit their inferiors and hiding behind a Potemkin Monastery, the "monks" of St. John's have at some point, acquired spiritual and economic capital they did nothing to produce and what's worse, they've used it to defame and defile the name of the Church and the students entrusted to their care who are, almost uniformly, if not already apostated before coming to St. John's University, certainly are before they leave.

Despite the certain testimony of Abbot Klassen at present, more people are stepping forward who claim that they were mistreated and assaulted by the vulgar men he continues to protect. According to Behind the Pine Curtain, more alleged victims will be stepping forward to accuse these charlatans of their crimes.

Abbot Eidenschink has been the recipient of several awards, but as early as the 60s, he was preying on his Novices, men we can be assured, later went on to prey upon others in their stead. In a testimony to human credulity and indifference to evil, St. John's Abbey has honored this man with a very public display of praise, irrespective of the innocent lives he'd irrevocably touched by his depravity.

So, not only was he responsible for preying upon his inferiors, but he was given an award as well, and played no mean part in the destruction of the Liturgy where his pupils, those who no doubt acquiesced to his treatment of them, went on to work their own destruction of the Liturgy, of Catholic religion and education, which is evident from the work accomplished over the years by Father Virgil Michel's "Orate Fratres", which is now called "Worship" whose assistant editor, and Liturgist, is a man who systematically preyed on his students over a period of five years in the early eighties. Like Eric Gill, the man who executed the cover art for the first Orate Fratres, Father Dunstan Moorse is a vicious and heretical reprobate who continues to this day, carrying out the work of Godfrey Dieckman, Frank Kacmarcik, James Moudry and so on.

The deeds of these men is only part of the puzzle, which reveals a massive campaign aimed at the destruction of the Catholic Church's influence in this country and throughout the world.

Bishop Morlino Says No to Sentimentalism at Funeral Masses

Editor:Most people don't know how to act in a variety of situations. Especially at a Requiem Mass. Most of them don't know what it's for. Not entirely their fault. Their parents didn't tell them what Catholicism was about, their Bishops were busy attending the theater or having Zen workshops.. Generally, people in suburbia get up and cover themselves and their families in shame by giving eulogies. Heaven forbid that you call them on it either. This is a very good sign for orthopraxis, and a sign of orthodoxy.

Of course, there's going to be a mealy mouthed jackass who's going to whimper bitterly about this and how he's going to join the Ba'hai or some such thing.

Father Mike Tegeder is Paddling into Dangerous Pastoral Waters

Stolen From Father T's FB

Father Mike Tegeder is paddling into dangerous pastoral waters on behalf of liberal ideology -- the popular, freeze-dried, liberal, Alzheimer's theologian is crossing the line when it comes to the new rules about unlettered old women lecturing the laity. He's going for broke. Pulled out all the stops.  He is being praised by the liberal media and chastised by the local ordinary for sitting back and letting the laity do all the work, "preaching" in this case. Of course he's not the worst priest in the Archdiocese, is he? He's been brought to us out of the theological backwoods of Collegeville, a runoff byproduct, as it were, where you can watch avant garde plays minimizing the moral severity of pederasty. But who needs the priesthood anyway, someone to moralize to us about right and wrong? We're being Church now. [Isn't that creepy?]

Let us sing Mike's Newchurch into being.

Liberal reporters love to harp on "the priest shortage". They imagine it's been caused by the demands placed on the priest by an unyielding, dogmatic male-centered power structure which is anti-woman and dehumanizing. Freeze dried women and their defeated husbands in tow were "vital" in undermining this understanding as they left behind their children for careers and other forms of "fulfillment" as they tended to move out to the suburbs, practice birth control and send their children to liberal Colleges where they would leave behind the Catholic Faith.

Father Mike Tegeder has created a "ministry" for his gals where they can "preach" like Gloria Steinem on various abstruse subjects...

Archbishop Nienstedt, for his part, has been very adamant about this suburban pastor following the rules. It's been a wait-and-see approach. When Father "Mike" decided to have a Zen garden where people's cremation urns were placed, the Archdiocese acted and Father "Mike" Tegeder dodged a bullet and presented papers indicating that his Zen cemetery garden is canonically and civilly legal.

The article below talks about an alleged "priest shortage". Actually, these kinds of illicit pastoral initiatives, including altar girls and women lectors, are surefire vocations killers. It's why comparatively few men go to Mass in the first place. Take a look around you next time you go to Mass. You'll see a few young women, small families with a few children and a bunch of freezedried, Alzheimer's theologians who are busy running the parish, into the ground, behind the scenes.

Young women who are looking for a good husband at church probably aren't going to find him. He's fast asleep at home on Sunday morning, probably because Father "Mike" told him that the institutional isn't all there is. Probably because some priests, possibly Father "Mike", told him that it doesn't matter what religion you belong to. Not much of an incentive, and why get married anyway? That involves rules, don't it? Father "Mike" don't follow the rules. He even insults his boss and gets away with it. I think I'll stay in bed on Sunday to recover from last night.

[CBS Minnesota] So why did it take the archdiocese four years to begin enforcing the 2004 Vatican policy change?

Tegeder said he believes the new archbishop had a hand in ending lay preaching. Archdiocese spokesman McGrath said Flynn's letter had nothing to do with Nienstedt, whose adherence to orthodox church doctrine has engendered fierce criticism from Tegeder and many Catholic lay people.

"We're a 2,000-year-old institution and sometimes things move kind of slowly," McGrath said. "I don't know what the pattern was in other archdioceses and dioceses. It just takes a while sometimes to implement changes."

Father Corapi Exonerated?

Editor: It's starting to look like all the pusillanimous types secretly crying for this man's blood, and posting strange time-lines of his supposed metamorphosis into Anton Levey are going to be kind of disappointed. It is to be hoped that Father's bishop goes to bat for him and sends this harridan packing.

KALISPELL, Montana, March 25, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - A leader of the company that manages Rev. John Corapi’s media has claimed that the recent accusations against the popular priest were launched by a “disgruntled” former employee who vowed to “destroy” Corapi’s reputation.

Corapi, a well-known Catholic personality and member of the Society of Our Lady of the Most Holy Trinity (SOLT) who has been extremely outspoken on the life and family issues, has been placed on “administrative leave” in consultation with the diocese of Corpus Christi, Texas, where SOLT is based.

The move was in reaction to a letter by a former employee of the media company sent to several bishops and claiming that Corapi was addicted to drugs and sexually involved with multiple women.

The White Tree of England Will Return

Last December just before Christmas, one of the most enduring and fantastic pilgrimage sites in England was brutally vandalized. It is the site of the place where St. Joseph of Arimathea traveled whose wooden staff was planted there and took sprout into this ancient tree. He brought with him the Holy Grail.

[the daily mail] As a Christian symbol, it seems appropriate that its resurrection took place in time for Easter.

Glastonbury's Holy Thorn tree began to show new buds this week, three months after it was savagely cut down by vandals.

According to legend, Joseph of Arimathea – who some say was Jesus's great-uncle – travelled to Wearyall Hill after the Crucifixion and stuck a wooden staff belonging to Jesus into the ground before he went to sleep.

Irish Bishops Are Fasting During Lent

Editor: Wow, good job you Bishops. You're supposed to be fasting on Fridays during Lent already. And you should be fasting and praying for promoting homosexuality and modernism.

Archbishop Diarmuid Martin and Cardinal Sean Brady at a launch event for the international Eucharistic Congress Related news: • As Vatican probe nears end, officials see signs of repentance and renewal in Ireland • Irish bishops say this week's election crucial for country's future • Letter from 1997 shows Vatican concern to ensure abuse verdicts, officials say • Papal appointees begin apostolic visitation of Irish Church

The Catholic Bishops of Ireland have committed themselves to prayer and fasting on the first Friday of each month in reparation for abuse by clergy and the failure of Church leadership to respond to the crimes. These actions will "renew our commitment to the tradition of Friday penance with a particular emphasis on remembering the suffering of those who have been abused," the bishops wrote in their March 19 pastoral letter

"Towards Healing and Renewal." The abuse of children by some priests and religious was "an appalling wrong," they said, adding that the inadequate response from Church leaders has "left a deep wound that may never be fully healed."

"We are deeply ashamed of this and we are profoundly sorry for any failures on our part," the bishops said. Bishop Colm O'Reilly of Ardagh and Clonmacnois, in his March 19 homily at the Cathedral Centre in Longford, also discussed the letter.

Target Is Suing Desperate Homosexual Group Lurking Outside its Stores

Gay rights for everyone whether they want them or not. We're wondering of the government is helping these pests out with funding? Homosexual pressure groups have been fact finding and canvassing on behalf of the normalization of the things they like to do. They've even gotten the White House involved in their antics by creating a false flag operation to convince Latin American countries, cynically to vote for their UN Resolution.

Now their aggressive proselytizing has gotten them in legal trouble. That's probably the last thing anyone wants to be thinking about when they've got to go to Target to purchase an item. Of course, homosexuals are vindictive as a group and they will undoubtedly retaliate by refusing to shop at Target.

Target is making some nasty headlines for itself once again in its apparent attempt to embrace a policy of indiscriminate discrimination. In recent years the big box superstore has settled multiple discrimination lawsuits with former employees (racial and/or disability discrimination) to make it seem as though the company just hates all people. Perhaps Target is meant to be pronounced with a French accent after all.

But in the past year, Target has gone on the offensive. Last July, the Minneapolis-based company made a 6-figure contribution to purchase campaign ads for anti-gay Minnesota gubernatorial candidate Tom Emmer. Following an uproar from employees and the media, Target CEO Gregg Steinhafel apologized. The company struck a deal with Lady Gaga to sell a deluxe limited edition run of her upcoming album, , due out in May. But Gaga backed out earlier this month citing Target's insensitivity to the LGBT community, having no assurances that Target wouldn't continue funding political candidates with anti-gay agendas.

Now Target is suing a group San Diego pro-gay marriage activists to stop them from canvassing -- or talking to patrons about gay marriage -- outside its stores, specifically the Poway location. The lawsuit was filed on March 8. Target was denied a temporary restraining order against between Target and Canvass for a Cause by the San Diego County Superior Court judge. The trial was set to begin today. But, once again, it's not an anti-gay thing, Target assures.

Jesuits Take a Crap on Marriage

Editor: Isn't there some kind of law somewhere about false advertising?

Jesuit [ˈdʒɛzjʊɪt]
n
1. (Christianity / Roman Catholic Church) a member of a Roman Catholic religious order (the Society of Jesus) founded by the Spanish ecclesiastic Saint Ignatius Loyola (1491-1556) in 1534 with the aims of defending the papacy and Catholicism against the Reformation and to undertake missionary work among the heathen

Here's what Dan had to say:

Jesuits Abandon "Marriage" for Today's Fashion

Marquette University will abandon any pretense of "Catholicism"--and for that matter, of "witness."

Marquette University plans to start offering domestic partner benefits to its employees in 2012, ...

...“If we are truly pastoral in our application of the Jesuit principle of cura personalis, I asked myself if I could reconcile that with denying health benefits to a couple who have legally registered their commitment to each other,” Wild said. In Latin, cura personalis means "care for the entire person." [said Fr. Wild]

Sure, Father, so long as that "entire person" doesn't have an eternal soul--you know, like in "cura animarum."

G K Chesterton had two applicable quotes.

CNA Consults with Folk Singer About Eternal Salvation

Not sure why CNA talked to John Micheal Talbot about this new book. They should be more careful about asking recent converts the hard questions. In any event, Talbot is a hippie folk singer, not a Catholic theologian. You may have been tortured by his music at a Mass near you at some point in your life:

The Catholic Church denies the possibility of either post-mortem repentance or a temporary hell, and most Catholic theologians have regarded universal salvation as an impossibility. Pope John Paul II wrote that the “silence of the Church” was “the only appropriate position” on the question of whether any particular person was saved or lost.

Bell also speculates that some non-Christians may reach salvation through a type of implicit or unconscious relationship to Christ. The Catholic Church accepts this notion as a possibility, in instances where individuals have failed to receive the Gospel message by no fault of their own.

John Michael Talbot, a Catholic recording artist with close ties to the evangelical world, told CNA that all Christians must be careful in approaching the subject of death, judgment, and the afterlife – particularly those who rely upon “scripture alone,” without the Church's definitive teaching authority.

Talbot, who left evangelicalism and founded a Franciscan brotherhood, described many contemporary evangelicals as feeling “a hunger for something less legalistic, more mystical and intellectually rich,” than the “rather shallow answers” they are often given in response to questions about salvation and judgment.

But Talbot said Bell, and other like-minded evangelicals, “lack the full set of tools to find those deeper answers” – which Catholics are given through “sacred scripture, apostolic tradition, and the magisterium [sic], or teaching authority, of the church.”

He indicated that Catholic teachings on salvation could provide more definitive answers to the kinds of questions that led Bell to write “Love Wins.”

“Those who have never had the good news of Jesus written on their hearts by the Spirit are only responsible for what they know,” Talbot said, paraphrasing what the Second Vatican Council taught in its Dogmatic Constitution on the Church.

“Therefore,” he stated, “those who are not Christians may be saved.”

Link to full article, here at CNA.

If JMT sounds familiar, it's probably because his act is inspired in part by the work of a child predator and fellow folk musician, Peter Yarrow. What does Peter Yarrow have to do with Talbot? Neither one of them should be consulted for Catholic teaching, and it's certain that neither should be left near Catholic children either.

Lebanon Gets New Maronite Patriarch

In addition to the new and very young Patriarch to replace the outgoing Old Liberal, papabile, ++Lubomyr Husar in the Ukraine, the Maronites are getting a new Patriarch too [their 77th] who is going to probably continue the increasingly understated presence of the Patriarchate in party poltics, says Phalange Party official, to represent almost a million Maronite Catholics, who are an ancient Arabic lineage in Union with the Holy See of Rome and always have been.

Following the 2005 elections, the rivalry between the two-biggest Christian blocs in the Lebanese Parliament led to the FPM distancing themselves from the church leadership at Bkirki over Sfeir’s stances regarding Lebanon’s political disputes.
“Rai’s election is a great achievement for Lebanon … and he has a strong relationship with everyone in the country,” said Abi Ramia.

The election of Rai has led to uncertainty within the country as to how the policies of the church’s leadership will respond to the country’s major issues.

“Bkirki should be completely removed from the competition between political parties, which drag the church into routine conflicts resulting from the rivalry of parties to attract electoral votes,” Abi Ramia added.

Russia Refuses to Sign Useless UN Resolution on Sodomy

Editor:  The other day, we got wind that the White House had lied to Mexican representatives about what the Vatican thought of their resolution. The Obama Administration lied about something. Anyhow, it's not too surprising. There are really messed up countries who signed this. What a lot of spilt ink for a population that comprises two or three percent of the population at best. Notice some of the exceptions, though, Russia didn't sign. Go Putin. Ireland signed? That's ridiculous. All we can say now is, go Putin, go Medvev.

Bulgaria signing this would be sort of understandable, but Ireland?
