Get Ready for Attempts to Wreckovate Notre Dame

Edit: as a set of very rich globalists and shadowy deep state individuals promise
To pay for the rebuilding of the Cathedral. France’s head of state and the Pope make overtures that they will build a kind of inclusive replacement. Clearly they want to erase France’s legacy.

As one Rolling Stone magazine  of degenerate music and entertainment puts it, ”The building was so overburdened with meaning that its burning feels like an act of liberation,

It’s frightening to think that the impending renovation (as opposed to restoration) will have in store for Catholics in Paris. Indeed, there are suggestions that a new renovation, which could be as controversial as the previous 19th century gothic renovation, could capture a new contemporary Church, like the hideous renovation of the Lourve.

One invading politician in Quebec even suggested the fire was divine intervention:

Québec Solidaire member Eve Torres suggested that the tragedy was “a result of a divine intervention related to the prohibition of religious symbols in France,” according to LaPresse.ca.
The Pope of surprises undoubtedly sees an opportunity to vent his will to destroy here.

Vatican Wreckovates Pantheon

(Rome) 1409 years ago one of Rome's most famous monuments was converted into a church. After just as long a period, almost 50 years after the liturgical reform of 1969/1970, a fixed, so-called altar was erected and consecrated.

On May 13, 609, the Catholic Church Sancta Maria ad Martyres was established from the Pantheon of Emperor Hadrian, the pagan temple dedicated to all the gods.

Pantheon in Rome

The transformation was part of a comprehensive Christianization of Rome. Christianity had overcome paganism. The Christians, who were repeatedly subjected to bloody persecution during the first three centuries of the Roman Empire, hesitated for a long time to adapt the pagan temples to the Christian cult. They waited until the pagan belief in the gods had largely died. Only then did they consider it possible to take over the idol temples. More than 1400 years ago, the solemn purification, the lustration, of the Pantheon took place in this context under Pope Boniface IV (608-615).

The "Pantheon" is a tourist magnet. If you want to see the sights of Rome, you will not miss this building, which will soon be 2050 years old. On Sundays and public holidays regular mass celebrations take place, as well as yesterday for the Solemnity of Ascension and at the same time consecration of the church. While the official website of the tourist attraction did not mention it, a reference to the website of the basilica was found in the days before. The 1409th consecration day should also mean a profound intervention in the presbytery.

The new people’s altar

As usual, the Solemnity was celebrated at 10.30 am yesterday by Canon Mgr. Salvatore Genchi. There is a collegiate staff attached to the basilica, the only surviving one in Rome alongside those at the four Patriarchal basilicas. The pastor is the Italian military bishop.

The main altar so far

However, at 4 pm another Mass, celebrated by the Pontifical Legate, Monsignor Angelo De Donatis, Vicar General of the diocese of Rome, was followed with "the consecration of the new bronze altar in the 1409th year of the consecration of the Basilica.”

Yesterday, a fixed, so-called "people's altar" was consecrated, thus creating that altar duplex with the main altar, which became the strange "characteristic" of the liturgical reform of 1969/1970.

The intervention was quiet and silent, which is why it is not known which representative of the competent office of monuments gave his consent to make the main altar on which over many centuries numerous saints, popes and priests celebrated the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass "superfluous" or it may be used to disguise the view. It is a true repression. The altar of the people was erected so close to the steps to the historic main altar that it was made practically unusable for a celebration in the traditional form of the Roman rite.

The artistic statement of the new national altar is described on the Basilica Internet page. In addition, the Apostolic Exhortation Gospel of Gospel is quoted by Pope Francis:

"It is good that every catechesis pays special attention to the ‘way of beauty’ (via pulchritudinis). To proclaim Christ is to show that believing in him and following him is not only true and just, but something beautiful that, even in the midst of trials, life can be filled with new splendor and deep happiness. In this sense, all expressions of true beauty can be recognized as a way to help meet the Lord Jesus. It is not about promoting an aesthetic relativism that could obscure the indissoluble bond that exists between truth, goodness and beauty, but to regain the esteem of beauty in order to reach the human heart and in it shine the truth and goodness of the Risen God” (Evangelii gaudium, 167).

"Shocking exorcism
"

On May 13, 609, as can be read in the papal annals, Pope Boniface IV carried out a "shocking exorcism" of the pagan temple before he proceeded to the solemn consecration of the basilica. The temple had been transferred to him the year before by the Byzantine emperor Phocas (602-610). After the outer purification, the gates were opened and the Pope entered the temple, which had not been entered by Christians until then. "An immense crowd" attended the event. The chronicles tell of frightening noises and terrible screams that came from within. The demons and idols "yowled horribly" because they were aware of being driven out. The Pope prayed and consecrated the building to Christ, so that the demons flew out of the old temple amid tumultuous noise.

The new people’s altar

The mystic Anna Katharina Emmerick (1774-1824) also saw in a vision the cleansing and transformation of the Pantheon into a church.

In remembrance of the time of the persecution, Boniface IV consecrated it the Basilica of Our Lady and all the martyrs. In addition he left many relics of martyrs, the tradition reported 28 cars full, under the now repressed main altar. From the formerly gilded bronze ceiling of the dome, Pope Gregory III. (731-741), Gian Lorenzo Bernini 1624-1633 created the nearly 30 meter high canopy above the tomb of the Apostle Prince Peter and the Pope's altar in St. Peter's Basilica.

The basilica houses famous artists, including Raphael. There is also the burial place of the kings of united Italy.

Berlin's New Archbishop Koch Warns of Fiasco for Cathedral "Renovation"

Edit: reading between the lines, you can tell that he means to destroy more of the Catholic heritage of a predominantly Protestant city.

The new Archbishop Heiner Koch seeks an amicable solution in the controversial renovation of Berlin's St. Hedwig's Cathedral,  because "to renew a building so that it destroys the community, does not make sense."

Berlin (kath.net/KNA) In the controversial renovation of Berlin's St. Hedwig's Cathedral, the new Archbishop Heiner Koch seeks (Photo) an amicable solution. "To renew a building so that it destroys the community, does not make sense," he said on Wednesday in his first press conference in Berlin. "Then the renovation is a fiasco," said Koch, who was   appointed by Pope Francis to succeed Cardinal Rainer Woelki.

For the renovation and remodeling of the cathedral there is a design that took first place in an architectural competition a year ago. At issue is especially the plan to close the large bottom opening applied 50 years ago in the center of the cathedral with staircase to the lower church. The new Archbishop has to decide on the implementation.

Koch has  already said he has received many "menacing, sharp" emails on the renovation design. "If you agree to this approach, you will not have many friends," he quoted from it. Koch takes office on 19 September. The designated Archbishop announced that he would "look again exactly" at the plans. At the same time, he stressed,   there was a stress on "urgent action".  Moreover, the competition had been completed, and there were already "factual decisions" made.  Moreover, there are different liturgical requirements for the Cathedral today   than 30 years ago.

Even with the also controversial structural reform of the Archdiocese, Koch signaled his willingness to talk. The criticism is particularly the plan, which is to currently combine  105 parishes in Berlin, Brandenburg and Pomerania to around 30 large parishes by 2020. Koch also has received his own words already from letters that clearly made a "tremendous fear of anonymity and homelessness".

The future archbishop promised "to familiarize himself with the local communities on the way." He defended the foundations initiated by his predecessor for reform: "I can not see that it is factually incorrect."  The question of the best structures should, however, "not be answered uniformly," he conceded at the same time. "Since the archdiocese is too different." But he also warned that he was to reform the structures. They are only the means to an end. The principal issues were "how the Church can fulfill its responsibilities in a changing society." After the Kristallnacht pogroms that took place over the night of 9–10 November 1938, Bernhard Lichtenberg, a canon of the cathedral chapter of St Hedwig since 1931, prayed publicly for Jews in the evening prayer following. Lichtenberg was later jailed by the Nazis and died on the way to the concentration camp at Dachau. In 1965 Lichtenberg's remains were transferred to the crypt at St. Hedwig's.

Bishop of Brixen Gives Veto for Renovation of Altar Space

Proposed Altar Space in Parish of Brixen: Altar and
Ambo Equal
(Brixen)   Bishop Ivo Muser of Bolzano-Bressanone (South Tyrol)  has given an absolute no to the reorganization plans for the presbytery of the Brixen parish church of St. Michael.
The parish church in Brixen will undergo an extensive renovation. On this occasion, the sanctuary was to be "modernized". Zealous lay with some clerical support were to effect a transformation of the presbytery of the Baroque style Gothic parish church.

Art Contest: Winner Project with a Lack of Understanding of the Liturgical

The church renovation has been in swing since May 2014.  The sanctuary is untouched. A competition was held to determine what to do in   which nine South Tyrolean artists participated. The winning project chosen was the sculptor Lois Anvidalfarei.
When the project was presented to Bishop Muser,  it  was so hair-raising that he gave his veto. Since then, there have been long faces and volunteers among the church apparachiks, who sometimes have significant problems with episcopal or papal authority. The parish council feels offended and says that the negative decision of the bishop to Easter was "not good news".
Bishop Muser is committed to conciliatory language but remains in the matter. The project has been buried by him and should remain so. The bishop was particularly offended by the arrangement or fashionable disorder in the newly planned sanctuary, which lacks liturgical understanding. In particular,  Bishop Muser considered the altar arrangement unacceptable.
Parish Church of St. Michael to Brixen
Parish Church of St. Michael to Brixen

Altar and ambo equivalent

According to Anvidalfarei and the parish council, the altar should not take (Volksaltar) the central position, but be laterally offset and placed at the edge to allow an appreciation of the Ambo.  The Ambo and altar as equal members of the presbytery. It is a protestantantic reorganization, which reveals prolixity and especially a lack of awareness of the Eucharist as the central moment of the Mass and its sacrificial meaning.
The intentions of transformation  confirm a stunning lack of liturgical knowledge and  is everywhere to be found among the leading Catholic laymen. The middle and younger generation were  often never consulted.

Tears Because of the New "Sobriety" in the Pilgrimage Church of Muxia

(Madrid) On Christmas Day, the 25 December 2013 the Sanctuary of the Marian Shrine Virxe da Barca was burned down in the far west of Spain.  With tears in their eyes believers are lamenting "winner!" for the restoration of their Marienkirche   (Faro de Vigo) was carried out.
The Marian Shrine is located on the Costa da Morte, the Galician coast of death, which is surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. During a storm a lightening bolt hit the church of the Nativity of Jesus Christ.
For many, the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage church is yet another step to Finis terrae to achieve and the Atlantic Ocean. The pilgrimage church dates back to the 11th century. Marian devotion there is of still an older date, which is why Muxia is considered one of the "oldest and most important pilgrimage sites in Galicia".
High altar before  the fire

Where the Mother of God appeared to the Apostle James

According to popular piety, the Mother of God appeared to the Apostle James  here. The apostle had retired here at the extreme end of the known world to pray. He had fallen into deep sadness because of the people who did not want to put away their paganism. It was then he had discovered a boat in the distance in the sea which came closer and closer. Finally he managed to recognize the Virgin Mary, who brought him comfort and straightened him to continue his missionary work. Hence the name "Virgin of the Boat."
It was the Benedictine monks of the former,  nearby Abbey of San Julián de Moraime and the pilgrims who built the Mother of God, the present church. The miraculous image of the Virgin is attributed to the 15th century. By 1700 the sanctuary was in the Baroque style.

Popular piety shows other needs

The destruction
Now believers are complaining about the new "look" that has appeared in the church after the fire. They did so most recently, loudly at the Vicar General of the Archdiocese of Santiago de Compostela, Maroño Victor.  The repair cost around 740,000 euros. Mayor Felix Porto, himself a critic of the restoration, could hardly calm tempers.
The faithful do not like the new "sobriety". Popular piety shows other needs. The magnificent high altar, built in 1717 by Miguel de Romay  in the style of the Spanish Baroque was completely destroyed by fire. Some side altars were partly saved. The miraculous image also remained  intact, which is shown only on feast days in solemn procession, while there was a replica on the high altar.
The Blessed Mother was visited throughout the centuries by countless women who want children.

Church Crisis With Iconoclasm in Train?

The statue
Just a month before the fire rennovations had been completed. They had become necessary for structural reasons. In particularly stormy seas waves   directly wash upon the sanctuary. Recently, this happened in 2005, a few days after the fire. The salt water had attacked the bearing masonry as it was then reported.
Opinions differ about "sobriety", not only since the Calvinist iconoclasm of the 16th century. Iconoclastic relapses took place in the East in the 8th / 9th Centuries, which are interpreted as a response to the ban on images in Islam. Popular piety also differs from people to people. What is too much for one already, may be too little for others.  The Church respects these expressions of different people's souls.
A Calvinist / Baptist contempt of images has also won the upper hand in some diocese and monasteries of the German-speaking world. Required Restorations are a popular gate of entry to present the faithful with the surprising "sober" facts.  The art and cultural critic, Francesco Colafemmina who examined the phenomenon seen in the modern emptying of Churches, sees a metaphor for  inner emptiness and thus an expression of the current crisis of faith and Church.

"Our Lady does not deserve this"

The ancient glass windows remained
"Our Lady does not deserve this." The believers said this and much more to the Vicar General and the architects who had come with him to Muxia. Mayor Porto finally made himself the mouthpiece of the population: "What we want is a high altar, which is worthy for Our Mother of the Boat." Pastor Manuel Linero "suffers the most," under the new situation, the mayor said. He, too, was not included in the renovation project.
The Sanctuary of the Virgin Mother of God "belongs to the Church, but it also belongs to every house in Muxia and every single person here," said the mayor. Generation after generation of inhabitants of Muxia and thousands of pilgrims have supported the church through the centuries with their donations and foundations. This must be respected, says Felix Porto.

Buffalo Diocese May Not Deliberately Destroy Catholic Heritage After All

Edit: people are beginning to come to an awareness of how evil it is to destroy one's cultural memory and place. It's not only something which has resonance with the secular aspects of that, but the sacred as well, which was once an intrinsic part of the landscape. It was beautiful too, unlike the hideous monstrosities that have been offered as replacements.

Once again, the local ordinary is selling off the cultural and religious capital under his care for a few accolades. One wonders if the Society of St. Pius X can buy it?

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) The Catholic Diocese of Buffalo is now willing to hold off on plans to demolish St. Ann's Church.

The Diocese is working with Preservation Buffalo Niagara in hopes of finding a developer who is interested in purchasing the church, rectory, and convent properties.

All activities at St. Ann's on Emslie Street in Buffalo were suspended last year because of dangerous structural problems. Parishioners have continued to fight to save the church that was built in the 19th century.

This week they filed a new legal action in Rome hoping that the Vatican will step in and help save St. Ann's Parish.

Related and very nice story from the Niagra Falls Reporter:

St Ann's was built in the 1880’s by German immigrants from Bavaria, Austria and Bohemia, who prepaid for every quarried block before it was floated down the historic Erie Barge Canal from quarries in Lockport to the docks of the Village of Buffalo. Once there, these monstrous blocks were hauled, foot by foot, with horse drawn dredges, to the Sacred Site selected for their soon to be incomparable sanctuary.

All told, hundreds of thousands of unpaid man-hours of backbreaking work were performed over years as this magnificent edifice rose, block by block, to become one of the most important and beautiful structures in the Niagara region.

The decree to demolish this treasure was issued by Bishop Malone without accepting one of many invitations of Saint Ann’s parishioners to visit the church.

Refurbishing the Cultural Landscape --- 2,800 Churches May Disappear in France

(Paris), France's Mayors are tearing down Catholic churches to build parking lots or shopping centers. The renovation costs were too high. 2,800 churches will disappear in this way, according to a report by the French Senate.

In France, the dispute over the demolition of Catholic churches is not new. They are dilapidated and abandoned. And yet, every time a church is to be razed to the ground, it raises fierce protest from the population. "People feel that more than just some walls are broken. You feel a substantial change in their environment, their culture and thus of their own being,” wrote Claude Villot who is not under suspicion of Ultramontane sympathies.

Recent cases listed the Catholic daily La Croix on: Saint-Blaise du Breuil in Allier, St-Pie-X in Hérault, Saint-Jacques d'Abbeville in Somme (pictured) and Saint-Pierre-aux-Liens in Gesté in the department Maine-et-Loire. The number of demolished since 2000 in France is estimated by the Catholic Church at 20. Another 250 could soon follow. According to a report by the French Senate, the number of churches that are destined to disappear from the French countryside is estimated at 2,800. Most of them are located in rural areas.

"Fewer priests, Fewer Faithful, Less Demand," this is the new mantra of local politicians

"Fewer priests, measuring less and less practicing believers, therefore less need to obtain large churches, when a chapel would be enough." This is the new mantra, wrote Guy Massin Le Goff, memorial preservationist, in his 2009 report La polémique autour de la démolition of églises: le cas du Maine-et-Loire. It is this formula that compels many French communities to use demolition instead of a preferable refurbishment. Through the numerous, revolutionary interventions, which have transpired in the French history on church property, transferring to the state, many churches are owned by the municipalities.

“The use of churches calculating only the use of Masses, Sundays or on weekdays, would not properly represent the reality" the expert said. "A church is not just a place that is open to the Eucharist, or for baptisms, weddings or funerals. That it is used primarily for personal prayer of the faithful. The lit candles prove that there are diverse and numerous reasons to knock at the church door, whether alone or in small groups,” said Massin Le Goff, who sharply criticized the mayor of Anjou, one of the historic landscapes of French Catholicism, because of the ease with which they decide to demolish churches. In some cases, a dilapidated house of God is simply assumed to be able to implement new building projects, in whose way the church stands.

"What Would this Place be Without its Church?" - What Does Not Bring “Profit", Must Go

Massin Le Goff recalled that in most cases, the village was built on the church and not vice versa. Demolishing the church is meant to tear her heart and wipe out its own past. "What would this place be without its church?", such the first question that arises as Massin Le Goff, to whomever will listen. As as example, the preservationist cites the decision of the General Council of Maine-et-Loire, who also provides funds for the renovation of churches that are not listed on the historic register.

For Beatrice de Andia, founder of the Documentation Centre For Religious Heritage what is most disturbing about what happens in France: "For the first time we are destroying places of worship for no apparent reason, to make room for parking lots, restaurants, shops, places or apartments. The message of the demolitions is clear: the religious, the sacred, cultural heritage, which brings no gain, must go away. The destroyers present themselves as worthy managers who are concerned about the municipal treasury, which, according to them, would not bear the cost of the renovation of the church. "Maintenance” is but a duty for the mayor,” said de Andia.

Country Parishes Reduced Dramatically - Fewer priests, More Deacons: Opposite Tendency

One of the reasons for the "light" demolition orders, is the progressive decline of priests in France. In 2001 there were, according to officials of the Episcopal Conference, 24,251 diocesan and religious priests. In 2008, there were only 19,640, of which 15,008 were diocesan priests. Their number on 31 December 2011 (new statistics are not yet available) dropped to 13,822. In 2011, there were 13,630 parishes. In recent years, new parishes were established by the bishops to reflect changes demographic. The new parishes are concentrated in the cities, especially on the edges, while the rural areas became increasingly orphaned. There, the parishes were dramatically reduced by merging two or more parishes. At the top of the large territorial parish is a priest, but increasingly deacons are involved, the number of which grows in the opposite tendency to the decrease of the priests. And in many areas also lay people.

The Former Cathedral of Wurzburg is Now a Provincial Art Gallery!

The Abomination of Desolation

Satan reigns:  The Wurzburg Cathedral has become refashioned as a horrifying tomb of the Catholic Faith.

(kreuz.net, Würzburg)  On the first Advent Sunday a Wurzburg Cathedral made desolate by 3.1 million Euro will be reopened.

This was reported by the Diocese of Wurzburg in a press release.  The destructive work on the Cathedral lasted sixteen months.

12,000 Cubic Meters of Dead White

The colorful decoration on 12,000 cubic meters of wall and ceiling have been erased.
How much??

Fifteen painters painted the interior space bare white.

A Cathedral as a Galerie for Pseudo-Art

The place on the former high alter -- where once the tabernacle stood -- was ripped out by the Bishop to nail in his throne.

The brushed white Cathedral is now arranged like a provincial museum.  There have been 26 so-called art works displayed.

Some of the installations are made of smeared colors or from unrecognizable portrayals of Christ.

Old Figures Artistically Butchered
So Ecumaniacal!

In the Cathedral some of the neighboring rooms were made, which have been designated as "chapels".

In the new crypt there stands -- like an exhibit piece - a beautiful Marian figure from the 16th century is on a metal rod.

Otherwise there is a Pieta- representation inviting to prayer.  Unfortunately it will be slapped against a giant gold wall in the back ground.

One of the 26 figures removed

A sculpture -- which bears the title "The Victim" -- is going to be missing as it makes the rounds for journalists on the 13th November.

The figure shows an oppressed naked torso -- which clearly doesn't represent Christ.

It doesn't have any authorization from the Cathedral Chapter -- explains the Diocesan speaker its absence.

The prepared niche is still empty.  The Diocese is now seeking a suitable place for the naked figure.

Germany Picture of the Week, Butcher Block Altar!

Here's a picture of the week from the site of the SSPX German District. The deformation of the churches just doesn't seem to stop.

This is a wooden block with a hole in it which is supposed to be an altar, and a cross with a corpus which recalls a stick man. The Holy Ghost Chapel in the Elder Hostel in Wiesbaden has earned the rubric "Picture of the Week".

Episcopal Consecration Celebrated "Facing God" in Italy

(Rome) The news is not new, yet it is subsequently newsworthy. On the occasion of the consecration of the new bishop of the Diocese of Carpi, Italy, Monsignor Francesco Cavina removed the main altar from the chancel and celebrated ad Dominum Cathedral of Imola. This report on tradition is associated website Messa in Latino. The consecration was in the presence of Tarcisio Cardinal Bertone, the Vatican Secretary of State.

The consecration took place on 22 January 2012 in the Cathedral of St. Cassian instead. It must have been a one-time process that is still remarkable, and not least because of the importance of the event. Two weeks ago, Pope Benedict XVI. also celebrated the Feast of the Baptism of the Lord in the Sistine Chapel ad Dominum.
Destruction of the High Altar

Back in 2006 there was an episcopal ordination in Italy ad orientem, as on 25 June 2006, the new Archbishop of Oristano was ordained in the local cathedral. The consecration was before the then President of the Italian Bishops' Conference, Cardinal Camillo Ruini. The Parish Priest Msgr Costantino Usai had decided to end the "provisional solution" of a popular shrine. He justified the decision to the cathedral chapter, among other things, that the initiative that had been was not caused by the Second Vatican Council. The main altar is hindering the full enjoyment of the great dynamic power of the liturgy, and it runs the risk of a reduction in the danger of self-celebration in itself. The outgoing Archbishop Monsignor Pier Giuliano Tiddia had welcomed the decision.

As the newly appointed Archbishop Msgr Ignazio Sanna was consecrated and enthroned, he was forced to celebrate ad Dominum. Immediately after his enthronement the new Archbishop explained then that the "experiment" ad orientem is "not successful" and "this form of celebration" will lead back "to a pre-Conciliar dimension", "which, as I must assure, does not correspond to the sensibility of the people of God." The people's altar was rebuilt, this time the high altar was permanently bricked up and broken off from the possibility of another "restoration trial".

Graz Auxiliary Bishop Blesses Lego-Altar

With the modern Clown-Bishops, anything goes:  "Is God an Ikea-Mainstream-Clown,  for whom  we can prepare a hot dog on this camping table?"

(kreuz.net)  On the 10th of April the Graz Auxiliary Bishop Franz Lackner (55) blessed a shiny red, single legged, Lego table in a so called Welsh church.

This was reported by Msgr Lackner himself on the self-promotion website, 'facebook.com'.

He published several photos of a Novus Ordo blessing ceremony.

The lego table has been set up in the late baroque church for Novus Ordo Masses.

The Auxiliary Bishop Lacker has celebrated disco Masses in the past and even "consecrated" pancakes.

Under the Rod of a Known Destroyer of Churches

The Welsch Church is situated in the fifth city district of Graz.   The church is a baroque jewel from the 18th century.

"Welsch" means in this case, "Italian" and shows the ancestry of the builder.

The damaged Church belongs to the Graz parish of St. Andre.

Its pastor, Fr. Hermann Glettler, is a known destroyer of churches.

Where are the Beer Mugs?

The lego table has been severely criticized on 'facebook.com'.

One "Andrea Maria Cervenka" asked if "the red thing" is really an altar.

The furniture reminded her of a flat washing table with a tall stool.

On the table top there are visible indentations "Resi Rasers" as setting places for beer mugs.

The beer beer cadies reminded one user "Lefi Nosi" of airline tables.

Plastic and Elastic

"Hans Mohrmann" took a look at the pictures of the altar blessing.

His commentary: "National health service glasses, over stole,  Mass servers in night shirts, flower pot in wine red".

More humorous comparisons later... original, here...

A Pastor Celebrates Aesthetic Destruction

The first thing the faithful will see in the magnificent baroque church is not the altar painting, rather the doormat with two gaping holes.

(kreuz.net, Vienna) Since December 1999, Pastor Hermann Glettler has been destroying the parish church of St. Andre in Graz in southwest Austria.

The diocese of Graz-Sekau is currently being led to the wall by Bishop Egon Kapellari.

Fr. Glettlers church originates from the 17th century. It was built by the Dominicans and consecrated in 1635.

Wolves in Human Skin

The interior of the church looks as though kindergarten had run wild within it.

In front of the baroque high altar there is an example of a supper tale, which is made from mirror shards.

Next to it there is a wire stand with a glass plate. The thing is used as a podium.

On the church windows there are bright areas, which have distorted letters or -- more pointedly -- wolves in human clothes.

The white wall of the side chapel is smeared above with orange scribbling.

Aesthetically destroyed

Fr. Glettler was emboldened on his website with the idea, that he would consider to challenge "new artworks" .

They put the old state of the church in "a new light".

In any event the clergyman says that there's been an "aesthetic breakdown" with his art.

Profound Facade

In 2010 the facade was newly renovated.

In the course of its new formation, a Graz painter wrote various slogans on the exterior wall.

In various scripts, colors and sizes one can read profound things like "It greens so green", "tobacco", "nasty surprise", "Mozart", "sun flower", "sheep herd", "scale" , "park", "locksmith" or "lady slipper".

Altar Carpet with Two Holes

During this Lent, Pastor Glettler hung a self-cut lenten cloth over the high altar.

It is an old carpet in which Pastor Glettler has cut two holes.

It gives a clear view of the round window behind the high altar.

The chopped carpet should " challenge the expectation that an altar painting will be ordered" -- it says in an explanation.

Cardinal Dolan's Ultimate Plans for St. Patrick's Cathedral are Unclear

Edit: It's clear that the Cathedral of St. Patrick needs considerable restoration and repair.  At present, the authorities are making a good case that intervening now to "restore" the building is a worthy project.  But as the New York Times says, it's  $177 million dollars.  Why so much?

This will make it the most expensive renovation project on record at present.  Even Cardinal Mahony's garrulous and controversial Los Angeles project is only a bit more expensive at $189 million.

It is certainly  the case that at present, Catholic Churches are undergoing restorations that bring churches damaged by modern architectural experimenters and that there are also new Catholic Churches being built which look like churches, but there are still many churches undergoing these destructive attempts to "bring the Church into a new century", as Sacred Architecture opines:

It seems that the Great Jubilee of the Year 2000 is now being used as the catalyst for renovation of some of the most significant parish churches, cathedrals, and basilicas in the country, many of them historic structures thus far preserved from the fashionable post-Vatican II renovations. At this writing the Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption in Covington, Kentucky, the San Fernando Cathedral in San Antonio, Texas, St. John Cathedral in Milwaukee, St. Andrew Cathedral in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and the Cathedral of St. Mary in Colorado Springs are all in the midst of renovations, to help their respective dioceses “move into the new millennium,” but not without artistic and spiritual casualties. Each of these cathedral churches is being subjected to a similar program of interior remodeling justified by the “ongoing liturgical revolution.”

At present, it is unclear what Cardinal Dolan plans on doing with the $177 million dollar planned budget.   At this point, it would be interesting to find out just what the end game for this project is.  Will the Cardinal be planning on ripping out pews, pushing the sanctuary into the nave and disposing of the altar rail?   Or will this be what he maintains, all about maintenance.  Pretty expensive maintenance, we must say.

Will it resemble Cardinal Dolan's earlier artistic efforts by omission at the very least, when he allowed a bas relief commemorating Archbishop Rembert Weakland, (known for paying his homosexual lover half-a-million in hush money to keep quiet)?    Like this monstrosity?  It might seem premature to some to express concerns like this, but some officials have pulled a fast one in the past when it comes to these projects.

In case people are saying that these wreckovations are a thing of the past, look at what happened to Trent's big edifice, St. Maria Maggiore.  They've pulled the rug out before, and they will do it again.

Kneelers and Communion Rail Ripped From Conciliar Church of Trent

(Trent) The church in which part of the Council of Trent (1545-1563) met, was reopened after extensive archeological excavations in (2007-2010) and renovations.  It surrounds the Marian Church, St. Maria Maggiore of the north Italian city of Trent.  In the course of excavations and rennovations even the pews, kneelers and communion rail was removed from the church, as the Trent internet site Libertà e Pensiero.

In the first Christian centuries, the church was a Bishop's church in the Diocese of Trent.  The Bishop of Trent was from 10-27-1803 also a Prince of the Holy Roman Empire (The German Nation)  and Ecclesial Principality.   Since the 20th century of the previous century, the Diocese was raised to an Archdiocese.  In Saint Maria Maggiore the Council took place in its third period from 1582-1563.  In this church there were various conclusions made, which after the Protestant Revolt and schism led to a phase of renewal and a new blooming.

"The excuse, to remove the kneelers and communion rail is doubly astonishing,  since this after all happens to be a church, in which the Council met, which strengthened the pious knee in the Holy Liturgy and opposed the human conception of the Reformation [Protestant Revolt]," says Libertá e Pensiero..

It reads in the General Instruction to the Missale Romanum of 1975:

Movements And Postures

20. The uniformity in standing, kneeling, or sitting to be observed by all taking part is a sign of the community and the unity of the assembly; it both expresses and fosters the spiritual attitude of those taking part.[28]

21. For the sake of uniformity in movement and posture, the people should follow the directions given during the celebration by the deacon, the priest, or another minister. Unless other provision is made, at every Mass the people should stand from the beginning of the entrance song or when the priest enters until the end of the opening prayer or collect; for the singing of the Alleluia before the gospel; while the gospel is proclaimed; during the profession of faith and the general intercessions; from the prayer over the gifts to the end of the Mass, except at the places indicated later in this paragraph. They should sit during the readings before the gospel and during the responsorial psalm, for the homily and the presentation of the gifts, and, if this seems helpful, during the period of silence after communion. They should kneel at the consecration unless prevented by the lack of space, the number of people present, or some other good reason.

But it is up to the conference of bishops to adapt the actions and postures described in the Order of the Roman Mass to the customs of the people.[29] But the conference must make sure that such adaptations correspond to the meaning and character of each part of the celebration.

Edit: It's not like anyone reads the rules, though.

New Cathedral in Trondheim, Norway

Edit: Norway is heavily dependent upon German Catholics for support. God help them. Why don't they just ask for the Cathedral the Lutheran Church in Norway stole? The Norwegians don't even really use it any more do they?

Trondheim (kathnews) As Ansgar-Werk reports the Bonifacius work in connection with the Northern Bishops Conference have recently proposed a new project for the new construction of a Catholic Cathedral in Trondheim. "The structural condition o fthe old Church is not safe and not able to be renovated, and the old church is too small for the growing community in Trondheim, so we've decided to build a new one," says the Apostolic Administrator of the Prelature and Oslo's Bishop, Bernt Eidsvig. The Bishops from Norway, Sweden, Iceland, Finnland and Denmark have met at the invitation of the Bonifatius work and the Archbishop Hans-Josef Becker in Paderborn.

Msgr Eidsvig would like the completion of the church in 2014 to commemorate the thousand year anniversary of the baptism of St. Olaf († 1030). From 1015 to 1028 Olav II Haraldsson became King of Norway, Rex Perpetuus Norvegiae. For the planned project, the costs are expected to be 9.5 Million Euros. "The Prelature of Trondheim with about 9.300 Catholics can not pay for the building of the Cathedral alone. They need help from Germany", clarified Msgr Georg Austen, general Secretary of the Bonifacius work, and assured his support. The Catholic Christians in the area of Trondheim make up about 1.3 percent of the population in an extreme diaspora.

In north European lands, the number of Catholics is estimated between 0,2 to 3 percent so that the costs for the building and the support of churches, chapels and community homes themselves can hardly be born. "Much which is existentially necessary for the Churches in our countries are necessary wouldn't be possible without help from Germany", stressed Stockholm's Bishop, Anders Arborelius. Arborelius is the president of the Northern Bishops Conference and Grand Prior of the Commandery of Sweden of the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.

In 2010 the Bonifacius work received a further 2.1 Million Euros from Catholics in Northern Europe. So that with German Help Works, this will support 13 building projects as well as projects for children and youth. Important projects are among other things the Newman Institute in Uppsala, Sweden, which was recognized as the first Catholic University in Sweden after the so-called Reformation, by the State and the building of a Contemplative Cloister in Trondheim-Tiller, Tauntra and Munkeby (Norwegen).

Plans to Destroy Basilica in Italy Meet with Resistance

Edit: It's not as if the laity are complaining. Who cares about them? Yet when the local Bishop is "attacked" in a full length book by a famous architect, Stephen Maccarini, and the local arts and academic community, that's another matter.

The northern Italian city of Reggio Emilia boasts a magnificent Basilica of St. Prospero, completed in the 10th Century which has undergone many felicitous transformations. Now the local Bishop wants to create an altar nave, have benches that don't facilitate kneeling and include an ugly Japanese cross commissioned by a Shinto practitioner, that doesn't even look like a cross.

Usually, almost no one complains except the laity, but this time a great architect has taken up the cross and has excited the concern and indignation of the local Bishop who has sent his mouthpiece, Don Landini, to address the book which Architect Stephen Maccarini has written to denounce the planned wreckovation. As usual with Old Liberals, the Bishop's mouthpiece doesn't directly address the arguments, although he welcomes some alterations in the proposed plans based on the esteemed intellectual's recommendations, but focuses rather on the mistaken assumption that the architect's legitimate concerns are an attack on the person of the Bishop.

There's also another wreckovation in Wurzburg which is simply criminal that was covered by Rorate Caeli who picked it up from Europe's most popular religious site, kreuz.net.

Cardinal Schönborn to Announce "Restructuring" of Vienna Parishes

Now the Church has to be stuffed together, even in Vienna. Even the celebratory vocabulary can't wash away the sad reality.

(kreuz.net) Christoph Cardinal Schönborn of Vienna won't be naming any more priests "till further notice" to parishes.

The was covered by the newspaper 'Die Presse' yesterday in connection to insider information.

The reason for the measure: The pastor has rights against his Bishop, which the latter must respect.

It is primarily through the respect of these rights that priests are protected from the arbitrariness of their Old Liberal Bishops.

In the lead on the way down

This step will prepare the way for the coalescence of 660 parishes and for "new forms of community leadership".

The newspaper calls the measures a "blow for freedom".

"The announcement is the kernel of an unpublished pastoral letter, which will be read in all the churches of the Archdiocese of Vienna" -- says the anti-Church newspaper.

With this the Cardinal is opening the next chapter, "to makes his church fit for the future" -- gushed 'Die Presse' in the high estimation of the leftist Cardinal.

Nowhere else in Austria is the ecclesiastical decline greater than in the Archdiocese of Vienna.

The number of Catholics in the city of Vienna are estimated at about less than forty percent.

The left led Archdiocese is also in the lead for people leaving the Church throughout Austria.

Just before the End

The upcoming measures will lead to the situation where numerous parish churchs are transformed into filial churches.

"All alternations will serve a large number of living communities in their place" -- was the Cardinal's euphemistic way of putting it.

In any wise, he also describes the actual condition of the Diocese, destroyed by Old Liberal officials:

"There are fewer Church members, and even that number who participate in their parish, is even less."

And: "In most parishes children and young people are absent. Our financial and personnel resources are thin."

And with the Old Liberal Ideology in the Future?

Cardinal Schönborn is supposedly to direct the renewal under the motto, "mission first".

For that reason the three last Old Liberal Diocesan Assemblies have been implemented in the Stepensdom.

Actually, the Old Liberal Ideology is the opposite of an outwardly oriented, missionary Church.

They limit themselves to playing solitaire, inner-Church trench warfare and ecclesiastical solipsism.

Viennese Disco Masses are at an End

Editor: Sugar and spice, everything nice...

It says "Mass" outside. But it's a Rock concert on the inside. This thief's pastoral initiative doesn't serve the youth, rather it serves the blathering of the official Bishops, providing them a diversion from the shattering glass of their Olde Liberal Church destruction.

(kreuz.net, Wien)The sacrilegious Viennese Rock Eucharist "find-fight-follow" are at an end.

DISCO With Auxiliary Bishop

This was according to the Old Liberal Viennese youth pastor, Fr. Gregor Jansen, for the Austrian news agency 'kathpress'.

In the last nine years there have been over fifty such Rock events with pancake "Eucharists".

The Viennese Cardinal Christoph von Schönborn stood for two of these sacrilegious, pancake disco Eucharists.

On 29 May the last sacrilegious disco Eucharist will be held in the open air.

Fr. Jansen has named no reason for the end.

Celebrate, why?

The disco-Eucharists have drawn massive criticism. They also hardened the reputation of the Viennese Cardinal as an Olde Liberal Church destroyer.

All the same it is yet to be seen if any reproof from Rome had brought their end.

It's probable that the organizers of the event up until now have lost their desire and there are no successors in sight.

Fr. Jansen explained that the originators only desired "a break".

They have to install for each and every Disco-Eucharist their own text in alleged "youth speech", find Rock Bands and install lighting in the various church spaces.

Fr. Jansen laments that the ending project had brought "much Holy Ghost".

The Rock Eucharists would have struck the "nerve of the time and the youth".

He believes that they would had "simply begun celebrating" -- he neglects to mention just what they were celebrating.

Mandatory Program

There are relatively many youth who come to these Disco-Eucharists.

Actually there's a reason for that: the events belong to the Mandatory Program for Confirmation of the Archdiocese of Vienna.

Now Fr. Jansen wants to make a request about the "Know How" to give Rock-Eucharists.

Ideas about how music or light effects of the Disco-Order of Mass were catching on in many Viennese Parishes -- so said Fr. Jansen.

Rock-Eucharists can also be organized in future without the motto 'find-fight-follow'.

No SSPX Priests Allowed in Vienna's Cathedral Book Store

The New Book About "Hetzendorf" by Publisher 'Facultas'
Today a book was ordered in Vienna, that didn't just bring the local Archdiocese to snort.  The first drops of sweat are flowing.

(kreuz.net, Wien) This evening Heidemarie Seblatnig presented her new book "Hetzendorf and the Iconoclasim of the Second Half of the 20th Century" in Vienna according to neo-Conservative videosite 'gloria.tv'.

Mrs Seblating has been a university lecturer at the Institute for Architectural Science at Technischen Universität Wien.

Her book contains selections from nine authors.  Within the most recent iconoclastic attack on the Catholic Church is dealt with, which has raged since the 50s.

The seminarian Michael Wimmer addressed the Iconoclasm as the rejection of ecclesiastical identity.

The Italian architect Ciro Lomonte asserted in his selection that the forms of expression in modern architecture do not work with Catholic Liturgy.

The aesthetic and institutional back ground of the late historical church building has been dealt with by Viennese Art Historian Inge Scheidl.

Under the provocative title "Altar Lights on the Firewood Crate" the Art Historian Mario Schwarz is also included in the volume.

The German Historian, Publisher and Luther researcher Gerhard Scuder writes about Martin Luther and his one of the causes of modern Iconoclasm.

Other authors are from the German Oratorian Father Uwe Michael Lang of the Congregation for Liturgy and the new Bavarian Cardinal Walter Brandmüller.

I Had to Wait Outside

Already the pre-history of this relevant and captivating book shows its explosive force.

The books should have been introduced in the Viennese Cathedral book store -- in the immediate vicinity of the Cathedral of St. Stephen.

Mrs. Seblatnig had won the Dogmatic Theologian of the Society of Pius X., Father Matthias Gaudron, as a consultant  for the book's presentation
.
Actually, then the Cathedral book store scrubbed the entire book presentation. Because of the Christmas business it basically can't give any more book presentations.

According to 'gloria.tv' the old Liberal Viennese Auxiliary Bishiop Helmut Krätzl is presenting his new hate book against the Church in the Cathedral bookstore.

Mrs Seblating was forced then to give the book presentation in the Schottenstift in the City Center.

Note: Hetzendorf was once the hunting lodge of the Hapsburgs.  It's now being used by a fashion school.
