Mass Immigration: Pope Francis Flies to the Island of Lesbos -- Lampedusa 3

(Rome) Pope Francis announced his visit to the Greek island of Lesbos, which is currently the flashpoint of mass migration ignited toward the direction of Europe. After visiting the island of Lampedusa on July 8, 2013, Holy Mass on the border fence on the US-Mexico border on February 18, 2016, Lesbos will be  the third act on the 15th of April of papal refugee activism.


 
Pope Francis is, next to German Chancellor Merkel, currently the most media effective "Ambassador" for an uncontrolled and undifferentiated mass immigration to Europe. Like no other world leader, he knows how to make the "migration Front" visible and at the same time engage a  one-sided indictment of  "separation" and "exclusion." Here even the Pope spoke last March 4th of an " Arab invasion" of Europe, which he would like to understand, however,  as an "opportunity".

What will change the agreement between the EU and Turkey?

The island of Lesbos is currently in the media spotlight. The reason is the agreement between the EU and Turkey. Turkey has agreed to take back rejected asylum seekers from the EU, but only under conditions. The first condition are billions of payments to Ankara. The second condition is that for each asylum seeker withdrawn from Turkey, another is admitted to the asylum procedure in the EU. In addition to the costs, it means the regulation of mass immigration can be continued in the EU, with the approval of Brussels and Berlin.

Whether the agreement holds that Turkey is a reliable partner, and if the rejected asylum seekers will behave remains to be seen. Additionally it  must be shown whether the agreement is followed through on.

Doubtful helping hand by the Pope

The advocates of "welcoming culture" have been put to the test  of their outrage at Brenner on 3 April on the Italian-Austrian border. They  see the island of Lesbos as a symbol of a "repressive" EU migration policy. Organizations have been called to  rally at Brenner, who were allegedly involved in the deadly "escape route" at Indumeni. Migrants were incited to force entry into the EU by the European extremists. They refer to themselves as "river helpers", had compelled them to force their way into the European Union.  Three migrants who arrived at the torrential border river died.  For these "staged humanitarian catastrophes" none of the inciters was still held criminally responsible. The radical nature of these forces appears even to condone the death of their "protégés," in order to force a population exchange in Europe.

Pope Francis in turn appears poised by his presence, to provide indirect help to protect the extreme position. There currently is no evidence that there will be the desired effect for an anticipated differentiation of the phenomenon on his third visit that one would expect from the Catholic Church leader on Lesbos. The intellectual honesty demands a differentiation and the people of Europe expect a differentiation, that it should no longer be impressed with the impression that there is merely interest in the fate of migrants, but not the fate of Europe and the Europeans.

"With Luther to Pope" -- Eccentric Pilgrimage Action

(Berlin) "With Luther to the Pope"  describes itself as an unusual "pilgrim action."  The Center for Youth Ministry of the Diocese of Magdeburg  has organized, together with the youth organizations of the Evangelical Church in Central Germany and the Evangelical Church in Anhalt is an "ecumenical journey to Rome".

"With Luther to the Pope" leaves a lot to be desired.  In fact,  the "Christian pilgrims" of Catholic and Protestant confession are not intending to pilgrimage to the tombs of the apostles in Rome. They want to present  "Theses and wishes for ecumenism" to Pope Francis, says Vatican Radio .

With its own website,  they advertised for the  800 located participants. "There are at least as many conceptions of God as there are people, and that's good," says the website of the 9th Ecumenical thesis, "Honouring Diversity". What the Catholic and Protestant organizers want to say is that each "idea" of God is indifferent. The bizarre  1st Ecumenical thesis is: "You're different, and that's my luck: I am only, because we are."

These "theories and desires" Although are not fixed yet, but are in "draft". Anyway, they should be 95 theses, in accordance with the obviously idealized model.

The Bishop of Magdeburg is Msgr. Gerhard Feige, one of the last appointments of bishops by Pope John Paul II. In 2014  Feige appointed by Pope Francis to the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity.

Feige supported in 2015 the demand of Bishop Stephan Ackermann of Trier to change Catholic moral teaching. Feige said it was "finally time to stand open to the unvarnished reality and in the spirit of Jesus Christ, sensibly and fairly to struggle for responsible and life-serving solutions."  What was meant was the recognition of homosexuality, divorce, remarriage, and premarital sex.

This eccentric pilgrim action by a Catholic diocese, which wants to bring the "with Luther" demands to Rome,  finds a parallel to another controversial ecumenical initiative. On October 31, Pope Francis is to participate in  a Catholic-Lutheran Reformation commemoration in Sweden. Pilgrims will also  travel in autumn from all over Germany "With Luther to the Pope."

The patronage for the action has been assumed by  the ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Holy See, the former Education Minister Annette Schavan (CDU). Schavan belongs to the progressive ZdK milieu. From 1991 to 2008 she was a  member of the Central Committee of German Catholics [We Are Church types] and held from 1994 to 2005 the office of Vice President. The Forum of German Catholics designated the Schavan appointment as ambassador to the Holy See as an "affront to the Catholic Church".

The German Bishops' Conference has established in 2013 its own project site "Reformation commemoration".

French Traditionalists Accused of Anti-Semitism

Edit: no good deed goes unpunished and even acts of charity are chastised and scrutinized by totalitarians in France as one report has it, at least one judge has some native common sense. Some people just don't have any concern for social justice:

Paris (Reuters) The mayor of Paris condemned the ruling and urged the police to appeal the ruling.

"Faced by this initiative which stinks of xenophobia, I want once again to express city hall's desire to fight all forms of discrimination, racism and anti-Semitism," mayor Bertrand Delanoe said in a statement.

The food handouts are organized by a nationalist group called Solidarity of the French (SDF). It says its "pig soup," which uses pork fat for stock, is country fare much loved by French traditionalists.

“In this country, we were very nuanced. We did not oppose gay civil partnerships. We recognized that in English law there might be a case for those. What we persistently said is that these are not the same as marriage.”

German Protestant Church Faces Vocations Crisis

Editor: But wait, the Evangelical "churches" in Germany haven't had clerical celibacy, and have Pastoresses. Surely they can't be having a vocations crisis.... Their preoccupation with "social justice" is certainly part of the problem, but a wry lone comment was made on the page which points to the utterly man-centered orientation of protestantism, which is its downfall:

"When liberal Protestantism demands religious reverence for the man Jesus, it is disgusting and shocking. The Protestant Church has secondary growth concerns: The number of students for Evangelical Theology is in decline since the beginning of the nineties.

The number of young men, who want to be Pastor, has been declining for years: 1992 still had 8500 young people studying for the ministry, at the present there are only 2300, said Union President Klaus Weber. From 2020 on the Pastor-boom will fall into silence.

Not only is the number of candidates sinking, but simultaneously the number of members of the Evangelical church as well. These were estimated by 2030 to be a quarter of what they are today, said Weber. For this reason Pastor's positions are being closed. Already is a Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Pastor responsible for a dozen communities. The all-important personal contact is broken down. The church relies more on volunteers to hold its divine services.

Simultaneously, the requests of the Pastor grow, says Weber. In order to manage the requests, the ministers must be put in center points. These are for him as before the carefully prepared accompaniment of people in the turning points of their lives, like baptism, confirmation and marriage. "There is no other occupation, in which the doors of homes are so open."

Weber criticized also, he missed the engagement, to find a new way to people. It is also hard not to recognize, that in the country churches there is much effort to invest in the construction of financially sustainable structures.

From the 20th to 22nd September more than four hundred Theologians will meet for German Pastoress and Paster-day. The Germany-wide largest theological professional congress stands beneath the motto "The Evangelical Church and the Social Question".

Vatican nuncio calls for women's economic empowerment | News | Total Catholic

We've had almost fifty years of women running "ecclesial structures" and churches as parish administrators and various directors of this and that to include the office of de facto acolyte and even Bishop, and isn't it high time that we admit that it hasn't worked so well. There is a correlation between the administrative influence of women and the irrelevance of the Church structures at hand. The more women's suffrage there is, the more dead an ecclesial structure (protestant, Jewish, Muslim, whatever) will be. It is incidentally a byproduct of liberalism to include women in the power structure in the sense that they want it to happen, as a systematic and administratively pre-ordained thing.

Women have always shone while they've acted outside of the normal channels of power, starting from the time when Our Lady interceded at the Wedding of Cana.

In any event, this is the kind of Marxist-Heglian class warfare mongering you'd expect from the higher Anglican clergy, not a Prince of the Roman Catholic Church. Isn't it time that prelates stopped politicizing with social justice, and the mana of the desert and started preaching penance and the salvation of souls?

In his article “Benedict’s ongoing battle against secularism,” John L. Allen claims that European secular attacks on Catholicism led to Pope Benedict XVI’s recent controversial decisions to allow the Society of St. Pius X and conservative Anglicans into the Catholic fold.

Allen points to a recent court ruling as evidence that Europe has become overly secular. The European Court of Human Rights, based in Strasburg, “issued its ruling in response to a petition from an Italian woman named Soile Lautsi, who lives near Padua and who claimed that having crucifixes in the public school classrooms attended by her two children violates the church/state separation provisions of the European Convention on Human Rights. The court agreed, awarding Lautsi 5,000 euros (roughly $7,400) in damages.”

On "Good Jesuit, Bad Jesuit" it looks like the Jesuits are engaging in some socially conscientious voting in the shareholder meeting to engage their Human Rights Concerns. This sort of thing is fairly common amongst Jesuits, but try finding one that has an understanding of and belief in personal sin.

On May 27, the Jesuit-led resolution will again be considered at Chevron’s annual shareholder meeting. In the weeks prior to the meeting, Chevron stockholders will be casting their votes regarding this resolution.

"Peace and Justice" Group Organizes Protest at Catholic Charities

Bishop Zubik, sproting a really ugly stole, attempts to address the material needs of new arrivals from Myanmar who don't speak English. They were led to convene at the Catholic Charities office named after Bishop Zubic's mother by a "Peace and Justice" organization.

Refugees from Myanmar picketed the opening of a new welcome center for clients of Catholic Charities at its Downtown office yesterday.

Bishop David Zubik of Pittsburgh, who dedicated the Susan Zubik Welcome Center in honor of his late mother, went out to meet the protesters, who spoke little or no English. Counting children, they included more than 30 ethnic Karens, who carried handwritten signs such as, "We demand a professional translator who speaks our language."

The protest was organized by Three Rivers Coalition for Justice, a group with ties to organized labor that helps workers with problems such as evictions. It printed a leaflet claiming that Catholic Charities had assigned the Karens a Burmese translator who did not speak the Karen dialect and who treated them with contempt.

It claimed that a Karen refugee facing eviction had given $500 to a Catholic Charities caseworker to pay his rent, but eviction notices kept coming. It also said that refugees are placed in low-paying, dangerous jobs.

FBI investigates Nun's Halloween Murder on Navajo Nation

NAVAJO — Authorities believe a Roman Catholic nun was murdered on Halloween in her home at St. Bernard Convent in Navajo.
Sister Marguerite Bartz, 64, failed to show up for church Sunday morning, so a colleague went to look for her and found her body.

"Everyone is in shock in that area," said Lee Lamb, spokesman for the Diocese of Gallup, which encompasses the entire Navajo Nation.

Navajo is located on the New Mexico-Arizona state line northwest of Gallup and inside the Navajo Reservation, where federal authorities investigate crimes such as murder.

Bartz was a 40-year member of the order of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament. She served since 1999 in Navajo, and prior to that at the Guadalupe Indian Mission in Peña Blanca, Saint Joseph in Laguna and Saint Catherine Indian School in Santa Fe.

"She was always passionate for justice and peace," Lamb said. Lamb learned of Bartz from her superior, Patricia Suchalski, president of the Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament, based in Bensalem, Pa.
