Cardinal Marx Donates 50,000 Euros to Islamic Invasion Fleet

According to the archdiocese, the money comes from funds that are "available" to Marx - theologian David Berger: Marx is making more dead refugees in the Mediterranean  - Captain of the boat on Twitter: "Team Umvolkung" [Umvolkung is a National Socialist German word for the process of making the German people forget who they are.] for  and "tug king"

Munich (kath.net) The Munich Cardinal Reinhard Marx has donated 50,000 euros for the not uncontroversial private sea rescue by the German ship "Lifeline" in the Mediterranean. This was confirmed by a spokeswoman for the archdiocese, as the BR reports.

Numerous critics accuse the private rescuers that they are contributing to trafficking through these "rescue operations". According to the archdiocese, the money comes from means "available" to Marx. However, it is unclear whether Church  taxpayers' money will be used or Marx paid for it privately. His monthly income is according to the BILD newspaper 12.526 euros. Most recently, the Lifeline attempted to sail under the Vatican flag. This was rejected by the Vatican.

In his blog, the theologian David Berger sharply criticized Marx's donation: "With the donation of 50,000 euros to the NGO / Mediterranean ship Lifeline, Cardinal Marx from Munich is not only negligent in dealing with funds that do not belong to him, he also causes more dead refugees in the Mediterranean Sea and supports the Islamization of Europe, and those who continue to co-finance it are complicit.

Claus Peter Reisch, the ship's captain, also distributes controversial T-shirts on Twitter, which read "Tug King" and "Team Umvolkung". [Team Deracination]

A former bishop who led the Roman Catholic church in metro Phoenix during a worldwide child sexual abuse scandal has been accused of molesting a young boy 35 years ago.

Retired Bishop Thomas O'Brien is accused in a lawsuit of sexually abusing the boy on several occasions at parishes in Phoenix and Goodyear from 1977 to 1982. The Diocese of Phoenix says O'Brien denies the allegation.

O'Brien, now 81, led the diocese in Phoenix as it became embroiled in a global scandal that rocked the Catholic church after allegations surfaced in Boston about pedophile priests going unpunished.

The bishop acknowledged in a 2003 immunity deal that he let church employees accused of sex abuse continue to have contact with children. Weeks after the deal, O'Brien resigned as bishop after he was arrested in the hit-and-run death of a pedestrian.

O'Brien's accuser says the clergyman sexually abused him when he was a child and he had suppressed his memories of it, said Tim Hale, his lawyer.

The accuser, who is now 47 and lives in the Tucson area, started having flashbacks of the abuse in September 2014 when preparing for his son's baptism into the Catholic church, Hale said.

"It has turned his life upside down," Hale said, explaining that his client has suffered profound emotional distress.

Hale said his client's allegation is being investigated by the Phoenix Police Department, which refused to comment.

The diocese issued a statement saying O'Brien denies the accusation and that he was never assigned to the schools and parishes where the abuse is alleged to have occurred. The statement also said the diocese informed prosecutors about the allegation immediately after learning of it in September 2016.

O'Brien's 2003 immunity agreement said a grand jury investigating church sex abuse allegations at the time didn't find evidence that the bishop had engaged in sexual misconduct.

Amanda Jacinto, a spokeswoman for the Maricopa County Attorney's Office, said the immunity deal will remain in place, meaning the bishop could not be prosecuted for letting church employees suspected of sex abuse be around children.

But Jacinto said the agreement would not prevent prosecutors from bringing a case against O'Brien if there's evidence that he sexually abused a child.

O'Brien, who served as Phoenix's bishop for 21 years, resigned in June 2003 after being accused of striking and killing 43-year-old Jim Reed with his car.

The bishop didn't stop to help Reed or report the accident to police but told investigators that he didn't realize he had hit a person.

He said he thought he had hit a dog or cat or that someone had thrown a rock at his car. Prosecutors said O'Brien tried to have his windshield fixed.

He was sentenced to probation and 1,000 hours of community service after being convicted of leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

John C. Kelly, an attorney representing the Diocese of Phoenix, declined to comment on the lawsuit and the allegations against O'Brien.

Cardinal Loris Capovilla, John XXIII, Fatima and his "Last Will"

(Rome) On Sunday Cardinal Loris Capovilla died at the age of 100 years. Born near Padua in 1915 Capovilla was ordained in 1940 as a priest of the Patriarchate of Venice. There he acted as master of ceremonies in St. Mark's and from 1949 as editor of the church newspaper of the patriarchate.

Since 1925, a friend of Angelo Roncalli

In 1953 in the same year Cardinal Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli was made Patriarch he was appointed as his private secretary. The two have known each other since 1925. From that year dates the first letter Capovilla wrote to the later Patriarch and Pope. In 1958 Roncalli who was elected Pope John XXIII. took Capovilla as his secretary with him to Rome. It was a  trust that would last until the death of the Pope in 1963.

Pope Paul VI. had appointed him Archbishop of Chieti in 1967. His successor in this position since 2004 is the theologian Bruno Forte, the author of the scandalous paragraphs on homosexuality in the interim report of the Synod of Bishops in 2014. However, Capovilla's activity did not last long as a diocesan bishop. In 1971 he was appointed by Paul VI. as prelate of Loreto  as an envoy to the territorially small see of Loreto, and as a papal envoy to the Marian shrine of Loreto. At the age of 73, Capovilla resigned in 1988 as a prelate and has lived since then in the birthplace of John XXIII., who worked as his executor and working on his beatification.

Capovilla published on John XXIII. and released parts of his correspondence and diaries. Recently, he published in 2013 along with a great-nephew of Pope Roncalli, excerpts from his own council diaries. Nevertheless, he did little to bring to light the actual motives of John XXIII., which lead to the surprising convocation of an ecumenical council. Yet his publications offer many other interesting pieces of information for the most recent Church history.

The Council, the "Fire" and the "Vultures"

At the center of Capo Villas conciliar representation is a "wind of change." From the published letters of John XXIII. and it is apparent that significant figures of the later Council, including Milan's Archbishop Giovanni Battista Montini, the future successor as Pope Paul VI., or the then auxiliary bishop of Malines, Leo Joseph Suenens, later Erzbsichof of Malines-Brussels and Cardinal, were neither surprised nor irritated by the convening of the council. Instead, they dealt in direct contact with the Pope and considered the issue of the council's alignment, where it would lead and by language it should be driven. Montini and Suenens were driven by a "fire", says Capovilla, by which he was convinced that "God has kindled this fire."  There were then "many" that tried "to smother the fire," said the Pope's secretary.

Thus, the large framework is already outlined by Capovilla of a certain conciliar transfiguration which affected also and especially the figure of the Pope John XXIII. who desired an "aggiornamento" that the Roman Curia and other forces in the church wanted to prevent. Capovilla's language, there  were "the old vultures who return after a first fright," as he confided to his diary.

The aged Capovilla became quiet under Pope Benedict XVI. This changed with the election of Pope Francis. Less than three weeks after his election, Pope Francis grabbed the phone and called Capovilla on 1 April, 2013. He told the 97-year-old he wanted to meet him. He should come to Rome. Capovilla had last been to Rome for the beatification of John XXIII in the year 2000.

There was much speculation about the background of the Pope's interest. He was invited in connection with the Third Secret of Fatima, to provide information that  Francis had wanted. It was more likely  that the new pope wanted to signal his connection to John XXIII in the person of Capovillas.  This was to weave the image of a "second" John XXIII., which was seen by some as a message to progressive Church circles, who would bring the full implementation of the Council  through the pontificates of John Paul II. and Benedict XVI.

Capovilla is associated with the Marian apparitions of Fatima, because he had not only knowledge of the Third Secret as Pope's secretary, but for publishing documents of John XXIII. and Paul VI. which revealed inconsistencies in the official Vatican version. [LOL]

Saints and Church Policy

On February 22, 2014 Capovilla was raised by Pope Francis in the state of Cardinal. Two months later, the canonization of John XXIII. It was a canonization which is considered controversial because Pope Francis  implemented it by overriding the conditions for a canonization. A requisite second miracle is still lacking for the canonization of the Council's Pope.

On April 27, 2014 was canonized from Pope John Paul II.. For the Polish Pope a decent canonization process was completed and the second miracle recognized.

It is an open secret in Rome  that Pope Francis felt that the canonization Karol Wojtyla came very inconveniently at the beginning of his pontificate. It would give the impression of continuity that Francis wanted to avoid. The Argentine pope sent a plurality of signals after his election, connecting him to the pontificate of John XXIII.  and overcoming the impression of  the Polish-German double pontificate of 1978-2013, which is decried by progressives decried as a "restorative phase."

To. "Neutralize" the inevitable canonization of John Paul II and yet of being able to send out "right" signal, he decreed with papal authority, at the same time, to raise John XXIII. to the altars. That his canonization process was not yet completed and lacked the necessary miracle, Francis passed autocratically. The double-canonization has since been considered a self-evident example of a dubious church policy. Francis is also criticized for doing a disservice to the veneration of saints and canonization practice of the Catholic Church, which has been criticized from the Protestant and secular sides.

The former neo-Cardinal Loris Capovilla, however, was impressed by the Pope's affection.

Last orders for the funeral

After his death Capovillas' last wishes were announced for the funeral yesterday.

"I want to go in silence, as I came into the world without applause and without sensation. My body will be laid in the Camaitino Chapel. Only a ceremony for the closest friends and for the faithful who were close to me in many years. The Mass is to be celebrated  by priests friendly to me priests in the  morning, companions of my whole life. After the celebration of the procession to the cemetery should pass by Fontalla where Maria Davide Turoldo is buried, one of the great poets, which the Catholic Church has had. No public celebration. If desired, a Mass can be read to my benefit, but only after my mortal remains have been placed in the earth."

Old Liberal Bishop of Des Moines Promotes "Medical" Cannabis

Some things just go together

Edit: it's interesting to note how some prelates like Msgr. Pates, camouflage themselves by perfunctory attention to social issues from a Catholic point of view, and spend the rest of their time pushing an overriding modernist agenda.  For example, few people know that Archbishop John Ireland was such a bishop since many of his public acts were irreproachable and even laudatory, but he was an Americanist and even contemplated a schism in the late 19th century.

[Des Moines Register] Des Moines' Catholic bishop is joining with Iowa lawmakers who are pushing to make medical marijuana legal in the state.

Bishop Richard Pates, the influential leader of 100,000 Roman Catholics in southwest Iowa, has asked House and Senate members to approve a comprehensive bill to permit medical cannabis. The Iowa Legislature is in an intense debate over medical marijuana legislation as the final days of the 2016 session wind down.

"I believe now is the time to help suffering Iowans and their families get access to this medicine," Pates said in a letter dated late last week.​

After 50 Years of Liberal Church Management: 36 of 110 Churches of Brussels Will be Closed

(Brussels) In Brussels, capital of Belgium, 36 out of 110 Catholic churches will soon be closed and sold. The change in Archbishop also brought a change of direction back to "structural reforms" instead of spiritual renewal. It is the sad result of a homemade, progressive decline.

Brussels is also the headquarters of the European Union. The leftist city government majority in the municipal council consists of one third Muslims. These are two aspects that provide explanations for this unprecedented decline. Another key aspect is the decades-long line of liberal archbishops in the Archdiocese.

Cardinal Danneel's restructuring plans

Yet in 2010 there was a turning point: Archbishop André-Joseph Léonard tried as archbishop of Mechelen-Brussels, certainly with recognizable success, to revive by the establishment and promotion of a small but faithful group in some churches that had been devastated for decades by his predecessor, Cardinal Godfried Danneels (Archbishop 1980-2010, Cardinal since 1983) which were already threatened of being put up for sale. Léonard's term of only five years, however, was too short. In addition, this churchman who fought in Europe's front line, received neither the necessary encouragement nor the necessary support.

Although Brussels has traditionally been linked to the dignity of cardinal, he was not granted it by Benedict XVI. not out of a false consideration for Danneels who was not yet 80 years old. Pope Francis did not even think to dream of it, to give a "Ratzingerian" like Léonard, the declared object of hatred of Francis-friend Danneels, the purple dignity. So Léonard's days were numbered.

On November 6, 2015, he was retired by Francis. With Jozef De Kesel, a Danneels man was named as the new archbishop, who quicly moved away from Léonard's restoration efforts and returned to the closure and sale policy of Danneels. Houses of worship would be sold off for little money. According to the plans of Archbishop De Kesel, newly established in his post on December 12, 2015 soon, there would be 36 of 110 churches closed in the "capital" of Europe. There has been no comparable action by the Church in all of its History in a European capital.

The daily newspaper La Libre published the plans with two articles. This did not only disturb the peace of Belgian Catholics. The question touches on other places of European catholicity in addition to Belgium, which are in the post-conciliar decline.

The third Christian millennium began with Cardinal Danneel's "restructuring plans". The conveyance and merging of parishes were central keywords that were given concrete shape from 2005 onwards. Jozef De Kesel was then Episcopal Vicar for the Vicariate Brussels, one of the three vicariates of the Archdiocese. It was De Kesel who announced the plans for the "future" of parishes in 2005. They were based on two considerations: as the number of Catholics decline, the number of parishes was greater than the demand, and especially greater than the funds; in addition, the high number of parishes of our Church does not fit the "multireligious and multicultural" dimension "of our modern society." It's a common choice of words to disguise Islamization. In Brussels there are more practicing Muslims than Catholics. The first name Mohammed has lead for several years on the list of newborn boys. Yet the theme of Islamization is politically undesirable among the dominant forces and must therefore must not be addressed. The same applies to the disintegration of the Catholic community through immigration into many small, independent, ethnic communities. Even immigration coming from Catholic sources has brought fragmentation rather than unity.

Current situation

 The Kingdom of Belgium is a historical artifact in a linguistic-cultural space in transition. Since Germany, the Netherlands and France have territorial claims on the region, the great powers created it in 1830 from the former Austrian-Netherlands into a separate state in order not to disturb the balance of power. The inner layer is linguistically therefore, somewhat more complex than in other European countries, and this includes Church organization.

In the area of Brussels, there are 107 parishes which employ 250 priests. 11 pastoral units are Dutch-speaking (Flemish), 25 pastoral units are French (Walloons). Plus, there are 42 different foreign-language communities. All of these parishes, units and communities are summarized in four deaneries. According to information of the weekly magazine Tempi  36 pastoral parish units will be dissolved and at least one church be closed.

This does not mean that all churches are to be profaned immediately. But it is to say that all church activities such as baptisms, first communions, confirmations, catecheses are discontinued. The profanation and the sale are the next step. The first article of Le Libre last March 22 was like a shock to the faithful.

Churches as an object of speculation?

Some parishes are hard to keep. There is a lack of faithful and the funds are scarce among Brussels Catholics. The radical deforestation leaves the faithful in fear that even vibrant parishes could fall under the bureaucrat's wheels when their churches located in "interesting" parts of the city are set aside for real estate speculation. Among the seven criteria for the conveyance of parishes is the term "urban projects."

Above all, the faithful do not understand why parishes are to be dissolved, although there are enough priests to look after them.

The pastor of a small parish that is to be abandoned, asked not to close the church, but to leave it to the Polish community which still lacks their own church. The proposal was rejected.

According to La Libre there is no definite decision which parishes are to be closed. In the near future a meeting between a group of concerned Catholics and the reigning Episcopal Vicar for Brussels, Jean Kockerols, is to take place.

New Archbishop De Kesel has Introduced His Closure Plan Again

The big "remodeling" of the Catholic Church in Brussels, which had been put in the drawer by Archbishop Léonard, had once again been put on the table as soon as De Kesel took over the office as Archbishop. De Kesel announced the "reconstruction" in his pastoral letter of 2005. Cardinal Danneels wanted De Kesel to be installed as his successor in 2010. That was rejected by Benedict XVI. who gave the assignment to Léonard, the then Bishop of Namur, with the attempt to at revival. With the election of Pope Francis, however, in which Cardinal Danneels as a member of Team Bergoglio and the secret circle Sankt Gallen is again operational, the chapter of Léonard and Benedict XVI. for the Belgian church came to an end faster than expected.

Soon numerous Brussels churches are being offered on the real estate market for sale. It's a sad highlight in the decline of the self-adulating conciliar Church which says there is "no alternative." .

Cardinal Lehmann of Mainz to Resign

Mainz (kath.net/KNA) After almost 33 years, Cardinal Karl Lehmann takes leave of his post as bishop of Mainz. There was little doubt that Pope Francis would accept Lehman's mandatory resignation from the Diocese of Mainz on Friday. Thus the chair of the Diocese of Mainz will be vacant on the day after Lehmann's 80th birthday on May 16 on.

The Diocese reported that an official decision will only be published as a rule, on the date of the resignation according to the Roman custom. Lehmann himself had repeatedly stated in recent years that all officials in the Catholic Church, with the exception of the Pope, should finish at on their 80th year. That is an iron law.

On October 2nd, 1983 Lehmann had been consecrated in Mainz Cathedral Bishop and introduced in his episcopate. for over 20 years - 1987 to 2008 - he was President of the German Bishops' Conference. In February 2001, Pope John Paul II. elevated him to cardinal.

The cardinal is considered as a bridge builder and man of dialogue. He is a cosmopolitan, life-affirming Christianity and for ecumenical openness. He enjoys the highest reputation in the Protestant church, in politics, economy, science and culture. Among the numerous awards Lehmann has received include several honorary doctorates and the Federal Cross of Merit with Star and Sash. He is a winner of the Karl Barth Prize and the Romano Guardini Prize as well as the "Order for Combating Deadly Seriousness". He is also an honorary citizen of Mainz and honorary member of the football club FSV Mainz 05.

Lehmann, born on 16 May 1936 in Swabian Sigmaringen, was an assistant of 1984 died renowned theologian Karl Rahner. As a professor of theology, he taught first in Mainz and later in Freiburg, before he became Bishop of Mainz at 47 years. At that time he was the youngest Catholic bishop in Germany. His episcopal motto is "State in fide" (Stand firm in your faith).

As a member of the College of Cardinals, Lehmann took part in the conclave in April 2005 from which Pope Benedict XVI. emerged, and the conclave in March 2013, which elected his successor Pope Francis.

According to the official, but not confirmed counting, Lehmann is the 102nd Bishop of Mainz. He certainly is the 87th successor of the famously "Apostle of the Germans" St. Boniface, who was Bishop of Mainz from 746-754. Lehmann's 80th birthday will be celebrated on May 16 and so on Whit Monday, with a service in the cathedral and a ceremony in the nearby Rheingoldhalle. (C) 2016 CBA Catholic News Agency. Old Liberal Bishop Urges Parishes not to Support Catholic Media Personality's Pro-Life Event at Parishes

Edit: apparently, the only unforgivable sin is opposing the consensus as it is outlined by America's Socialist Bishops' Conference. In this case, being opposed to illegal immigration is an unforgivable sin. This evil bishop has blocked, or attempted to frustrate Pro-Life initiatives in his diocese in the past. [Sperro, Washington] Catholic Bishop Joseph Tyson of Yakima, Washington, has disconcerted members of his flock over his stance on a pro-life charity event. Diocesan officials are discouraging parishes from advertising a dinner being hosted by Image Point Mobile Medical Services, a private non-profit that maintains and operates a mobile medical unit that offers services at the site of abortion providers that including counseling and ultrasound. The organizers are hoping to raise money for another mobile testing facility for Image Point.

An email missive from a diocesan official to the priests of the diocese cited what was called Image Point’s alleged failure to “collaborate in a meaningful way with the Diocese,” after having received a grant from the Knights of Columbus. In his email, Monsignor Robert Siler, Bishop Tyson’s Chief of Staff, wrote:

“Second, the speaker they have invited, Laura Ingraham, while having a positive pro-life witness including her personal choice to adopt three children from other countries, is a strident opponent of many of the immigration positions held by the US bishops. As such, her visit to Yakima sends a profoundly mixed message to our community. As a very public figure with a national audience, she is held to a higher degree.”

The Treason of the Clerics -- Ireland and the Vote on "Gay Marriage"

For a Long While

(Dublin) Looking for an explanation of how a Catholic people like the Irish could vote with 62.1 percent for the legalization of "gay marriage", some try to push all the blame on the illegitimacy of the government. Others prefer  to cheer in chorus, since the voices of "progressive Catholics" emphasized the crucial vote. However, even the term "progressive Catholic" is a contradiction in terms, because either one is truly Catholic, that is to say Catholics without any adulterations, or you are not really Catholic, but then it is not about Catholics.

In reality, there is a third factor that was decisive for the serious vote, in addition to the two mentioned: the betrayal of the clergy.

"Openings" by Certain Shepherds to the Homo Lobby

There is no doubt that the so-called "openings" by certain pastors have toward the gay lobby generated confusion among the faithful and influenced the voting behavior at the polls.

Dublin's Archbishop and Squaring the Circle

So the statements of some Irish prelates are, to say the least, problematic before the referendum. These prelates include Dublin's Archbishop Diarmuid Martin, who tried to square the circle. He spoke of a coexistence of the "ethics of equality," and recognizing the homosexual "affective relations", and the unique nature of a relationship between a man and a woman.

From a Mea culpa- driven complex, he added apologetically: "I am aware that the severity with which  gays and lesbians  have been treated in the past in the Irish Church, in some cases are still treated today, so that makes it difficult for LGBT Persons  hard to accept the sincerity of what I am proposing. "

In fact, the archbishop remained faithful. After the announcement of the voting results, he directed attention to the so-called power of the factual. We must now "face facts," which can "not deny the obvious"  and must recognize a "social" and "cultural revolution" in the result. These words were picked up by the media with great satisfaction.

Bishop McKewon: Catholics Should Make a  "Mature" Decision, Whether Yes or No

Bishop Donal McKewon of Derry assisted the archbishop at once in this position. Before the ballot itself McKewon had prompted the faithful to make a "mature" decision, regardless of whether they would vote yes or no. If that was  worth as much as the other and ultimately indifferent to any decision for Catholics. Even more: "I do not want that anyone would vote out  of bad, that is, sectarian and inappropriate reasons or because of intimidation against."  What  it did was gave the impression as if it were next to impossible to vote solely against the legalization of "gay marriage", because that's the only right decision.

Then  Bishop McKewon, conversely added his statement: "I have no doubt that there are many Church-abiding people who are for a yes. I will not say they are wrong. " A statement, which is tantamount to a capitulation, and even more so a resignation from his duties as a bishop when he has to call attention to the doctrine of the Church and defend it.

It irritated and unsettled not a few believers that these sorts of politically correct prelates are not reprimanded for their unfortunate statements (formulating it as quite harmless), but can act completely undisturbed or are even encouraged in their attitude.

Irish Constitution as Washed Away

Of course, for the vote in Ireland was not only just the result of the "Treason of the Clerics." Even the constitution of the island nation was hit hard by this stab. In the Irish Constitution it states verbatim: 

"In the Name of the Most Holy Trinity, from Whom is all authority and to Whom, as our final end, all actions both of men and States must be referred, We, the people of Éire, Humbly acknowledging all our obligations to our Divine Lord, Jesus Christ, Who sustained our fathers through centuries of trial, Gratefully remembering their heroic and unremitting struggle to regain the rightful independence of our Nation, And seeking to promote the common good, with due observance of Prudence, Justice and Charity, so that the dignity and freedom of the individual may be assured, true social order attained, the unity of our country restored, and concord established with other nations, Do hereby adopt, enact, and give to ourselves this Constitution. ... "

Everything seems washed away by the outcome of the referendum. Ireland and the Irish people is now in the  rather sad list of countries and peoples, who require a new evangelization.

It's Been Carefully Noted That the "German Front" of Kasper and Marx is Crumbling

Conscious of His Power, But no Longer the Controversial
German Voice in Rome 

(Bonn / Rome) South of the Alps it has been carefully noted that the "German front" in terms of "new mercy" is not as stable as it initially  appeared on first impression, or at least such an impression was conveyed. Is registered especially been noticed that six German bishops in the line of Kasper / Marx have been rejected. 

If the German cardinal Walter Kasper is considered head of the rebels, then it is  Cardinal Gerhard Müller as  the highest ranking of his opponents is also a German.  With Cardinal Walter Brandmüller and Auxiliary Bishop Athanasius Schneider, two more Germans of international weight  raise their voices against Kasper's attempt to bridge the gap between the teachings of Christ and the "real life" of many people by adapting to the latter by passing over the doctrine and mission of Christ over in silence.

It is also closely noted in Rome, among some it is  welcome, while others greet it with unease that the second questionnaire of the General Secretariat of the Synod of Bishops generated little interest in  the German dioceses. A lack of interest that the full-bodied announcement with a threat of schism by the President of the German Bishops' Conference, that there was a "state of emergency" for the German church's divorced and remarried is not supported. It is reported that more Catholics of the German-speaking countries have signed the Appeal to Pope Francis  then responded to the questionnaire. The appeal of faithful Catholics, whose first signatories include Cardinals Burke and Brandmüller, and  Bishop Athanasius Schneider who invite the Pope and the Synod of Bishops to reaffirm Catholic marriage and morality against attempts at erosion in no uncertain terms.

Faithful Catholics are simply motivated by the desire to follow Christ in fidelity to the Church established by Him.

Now in these days in Rome the news quickly made the rounds that six bishops of the German Bishops' Conference have renounced allegiance to the Cardinals Kasper and Marx. Six out of 27 bishops are not even a quarter of the German diocesan bishops. In Rome, however, the principle is still sound, that one can not change the word of God by majorities. It was first part of the Synod of Bishops in October 2014 where it was  Cardinal Raymond Burke, who recalled the essential elements of the Catholic Faith in an intervention. The formation of a counter group in the German Bishops' Conference thus represents an important step.

Bishop Stefan Oster of Passau, Bishop Rudolf Voderholzer of Regensburg, Bishop Gregor Maria Hanke of Eichstatt, Bishop Konrad Zdarsa of Augsburg, Bishop Friedhelm Hofmann from Würzburg and Bishop Wolfgang Ipolt of Görlitz have  renounced allegiance to the  BTB President and Munich Archbishop. Cardinal Marx has to feel encircled by dissidents in Bavaria. Here, the actual dissenters sit at the Palais Holnstein, while gathered around the Bishop of Passau Oster mustering chief shepherds  in full communion with Rome.

In this respect the hopes of the young Bishop of Passau are fulfilled.  Until recently it yet looked as if he would meekly submit to the powerful archbishop of Munich-Freising (see Passauer Distancing - And an Easter Bunny Crawled under Marx's Wing in German).

The bishops of Regensburg, Augsburg, Eichstatt, Würzburg and Görlitz announced three days ago in a public letter of thanks to a statement by  Bishop Oster where he defended  Catholic marriage and morality. Thus, a lone voice quickly became a chorus. It is conceivable that other bishops should come whose voices have yet remained unheard so far besides  the high-handed Cardinal of Munich.

Rejected ZdK Demands

In letters of appreciation for Bishop Oster, his five brothers wrote  last MAY 16:

"We live now in a highly secularized society in Germany. This fact should not discourage us and make us look at the guidance of the mainstream, but it should be seen as an opportunity to rediscover the uniqueness of the Christian vocation in the world today. Yours was a  frank and faithful proclamation of Jesus' teaching in the Gospels and the development of the relationship with Him as a reward that enriches our life, as you have done it in your replica, but it is an indispensable requisite.

We are therefore convinced that even many believers  are most grateful to you for your clear words. "

The letter was  a detailed opinion sent by Bishop Oster on 11 May from his Facebook page. In it he refuted point by point the 'reform' exposures, which they (ZdK)  collected at their plenary meeting on 9 May in Würzburg by the Central Committee of German Catholics (see BDKJ spokesman acting as Homo lobbyist - ZdK calls "unconditional acceptance" in German), The requirement of ecclesiastical blessings for homosexual couples is only one point in the long ZdK catalog.

Cardinal Marx Consecrated  Oster a Bishop

Bishop Oster was the brave one who reacted quickly and decided on his  own initiative and disagreed publicly with the Association of Catholics ZdK. He objected so implicitly also to his "Reformation" brothers in the episcopate, because Cardinal Marx had taken position in the ZdK paper. The Munich Archbishop remained so mysterious that the observers interpreted the reaction as expressions of sympathy towards ZdK which could  play to openly for tactical reasons.

Unlike Marx, Bishop had Easter then had to accept  some  irreverent criticism, particularly on the Internet portal katholisch.de that is funded by  the German Bishops' Conference. The internal church struggle  is quickly becoming a sniper's duel in Germany. Whoever defends  Catholic doctrine, must dress warmly. Rebels and renegades have occupied numerous key positions for many years, particularly in the official Catholic media. The tragedy of the German Church is also  that the bishops are hedged around by an exclusive church apparatus.

Oster's step will help to clarify the fronts. Six bishops have shown their Catholic color. Others conceal themselves in calculating silence. In Rome it has been noted  what is happening north of the Alps. Many prelates referred simply to  any representatives of the Kasper-proposal summarily as "the Germans".

Trier Laity Rises Up Against Bishop's Dismissal of Faithful Pastor

'Bishop Ackermann, You Have Fled at the Howling of the Wolves!"

Due to the ouster of their pastor Christoph Eckert Beckinger faithful are demonstrating at Trier chancellory. Speaker says: Ackermann punished "our pastor because of his clear preaching and his loyalty to the Roman Church".

Trier (kath.net) With flaming protest, believers turned from their parish church in Beckinger to their Bishop Stefan Ackermann. At a rally they made ​​the special trip to Trier. This followed the dismissal of the Beckinger pastor, Christoph Eckert. The altercation between the faithful and Bishop Ackermann has now drawn national attention to himself

Dear parishioners friends, dear children and young people, I can't wish you a "good morning" now. Because this is not a good morning. It is a day that has passed in our episcopal city of Trier in a way we would have thought until now.

Today we do not come as a pilgrims. We come as a flock of sheep troubled that our shepherd was taken away from us without need.

We spent years on the right track with our pastor. He gave us the beauty of the Catholic faith, not only showing it but he planted it with the heart and soul of the Good Shepherd in our hearts and lived with us. He was not a cold pastoral functionary. He lived as a priest of Jesus Christ with us. He has directed our parishes with verve and vigor!

He has worked the mind of the Church and the Church what his job is. We, who were entrusted to him, he has always brought confidence in this church. Especially the many children and young people who have come to know the Church through his work as pastor in a time of uncertainty, as a home in faith and life.

In August of this year, our pastor altar showed the young Christians of our parish at the altar boy pilgrimage to Rome, the foundation of the Church: Peter, the rock on which the Church is founded. The rock that will guarantee the unity of the Church with the bishops.

Now we have to see that it is precisely our bishop, who has badly shaken our confidence in this Church.

He of all people, who should be in the faith, the guarantee of unity for us, has punished our pastor, because of his clear and unequivocal proclamation, his fidelity to the Roman Church and to its tradition, with a dismissal.

He introduces himself, after a few complainants from our ranks who were chafed by the Catholic orientation of pastoral care in our parish community and those of the pastor who is a thorn in their sides because of his loyalty to the Church.

These are not representative of the believers in Beckingen! We have pointed out time and again in letters to the bishop and in public statements. You have not been listening to us!

THEREFORE, Your Excellency Dr. Stefan Ackermann, we stand here in front of your headquarters today. We hope that you will hear us today and understand!

We are stunned by your way of dealing with us. We are not being treated sheep who one should lead good pasture. We are treated like sheep being punished because their shepherd has led them to good pastures.

You disregard our dignity as responsible Catholics. You rule over us with the caprice of a medieval lord. You abuse your authority and destroy an aspiring parish community! Just because there is not based on the zeitgeist, but in Catholic tradition.

We ask you about today, Lord Bishop:

What example do you give in our times by such behavior? What harm is done to the hearts of people, especially young people?

On May you have asked the believers in a sermon in our cathedral to be good custodians. You have called to the fact that we allow the building of God's living temple. This is the same situation with our parish community, and you have thrown the wrecking ball through the temple of God.

Why?

Why do you refuse to dialogue with us?

We are stunned by the way in which you engage your episcopal authority against us. We are deeply shocked by your ignorance to the voice of the faithful!

Immediately in the wake of the Synod, we have experienced everything that has been said by you in the last few years on the maturity of the laity and our participation in God's kingdom, as empty words! You have not heard the voice of the faithful! You have fled at the howling of wolves!

"The Bishop should involve the people of God in the joint search of what the spirit of God in the present moment in the local Church," so you said at the opening of the Synod.

We feel in Beckingen that this claim is downright cynical in the face of totalitarian conduct with which the priest and the parish were silenced!

Lord Bishop Ackermann, you have explained in a public letter the last Saturday that you understand our feelings well. If this should not be remembered as pure hypocrisy in the history of this diocese, then turn to your heart to the truth! This is the cause of the loss of unity in our communities!

And now you call on us by the unfounded dismissal of our respectable pastor to pray for unity?

Pope Francis has spread the slogan on Twitter a few weeks ago: "The division within a Christian community is a grave sin; it is a work of the devil."

Our voices will not be silenced!

But Lord Bishop Ackermann, if you will not at least listen to what we ask today, the sheep, at least listen to the Pope.

We demand:

- Make the wrongs good!

- Take active concern and work for unity in our parish.

- Understand the concerns and needs of your fellow Christians.

- Leave your walls, as Pope Francis has called for you to do, and go to the people.

- Solve problems on the ground and away from your desk. Show that you have understood the message of Pope Francis and

-. Show that you are serious about the Synod in Trier.

Cardinal Husar's Views on Aberromarriage

Edit: the retired  Lubomyr Cardinal Husar was born in Lviv on February 26th 1933.  He resigned in 2011 due to ill health and is currently Archeparch Emeritus.   To the credit of the Holy See he was ordained a Bishop in 1977 by Major Archbishop Josyf Slipyj without papal permission.  There were no excommunications. 

He was made apostolic administrator of the Ukrainian Greek Major-Archeparchy of Lviv in December of 2000.  In January of 2001, the Ukrainian Greek synod elected him Major Archbishop.  On February 21st Pope John Paul II created and proclaimed Husar Cardinal-Priest of Santa Sofia a Via Boccea.    He participated in the papal conclave of 2005.

The Cardinal has been known for years as an Old Liberal with controversial positions on various issues and so we've decided to feature some of his writings in a series without a lot of comment.  We feel they speak for themselves. It's interesting that the current Patriarch has distanced himself somewhat from ++Husar's irenicism. The book is Conversations with Lubomyr Cardinal Husar: Towards a Post-confessional Christianity by Antoine Arjakovsky, Ukrainian Catholic University Press, 2007.

Much has been said about the recognition of homosexual
marriage.

Homosexuality to my mind is nothing new. The only problem is
that it has become very vocal, out of proportion, to my mind. Nobody
is responsible for one’s homosexuality. They simply are born that way.
And they have to face this reality, unfortunately, as it is. I feel very
sorry for these people because they are unable to experience conjugal
love, which is love that is fruitful. God created men and women for
them to have children together. Homosexuals cannot accomplish that;
in this sense their love remains sterile. If they insist on living together,
fine. But they cannot pretend that this is marriage. I also have serious
doubts about their capacity to raise children, because then a child will
grow up with homosexual tendencies. But the problem has become
terribly noisy as if half of the world consisted of homosexuals. They
are a tiny minority in humanity. And we should recognize their suf-
fering, their rights, and that’s it.

Yet Another Evil Old Liberal Cardinal Advocates Aberromarriage

Edit: Rorate Caeli says that the first Cardinal has been the retired Cardinal Daneels is the first to have expressed himself so openly on the subject of aberromarriage.  Of course, Cardinal Daneels employs a not very subtle equivocation, yet he isn't the first to have spoken so frankly.  The decadent Dutch enabler of sexual abuse isn't the first promoter of the sin that cries out to heaven for vengeance.  Cardinal Zollitsch did so last month in a very public statement largely ignore by the Catho-sphere, which opted instead to focus on his advocacy for women Deacons, a much smaller offense.

"He says to obey the law and not oppose gay marriage. 'We need to understand: The Church has never objected to the fact that there is a sort of 'marriage' between homosexuals – however  we're talking about a sort of marriage. This is not the same as the true marriage between a man and a woman, so we need to find another word for the dictionary. However, insofar as it is legal - that it has been rendered legitimate by law - the Church has nothing to say about it. (...) If a state opens civil marriage to homosexuals, then it the problem of that state.'

We reported ++Zolitsch's very damning statement on April 29th, where he advocated blessing these decadent unions:

Other reform proposals that Archbishop Zollitsch  would check and implement where possible, relate to Blessing Celebrations for same-sex couples and the possibility that women may preach in Sunday services.

Should Scandalous Old Liberal Cardinals Vote in the Conclave?

Edit: it’s been a frequent lament here that it’s never really the truly Old Liberal Bishops who get rough treatment when abuse claims come around.  Even Archbishop Weakland had been allowed to sort of retain some semblance of dignity in his disgrace by having a hideous bronze statue made of himself in the presence of children.  That’s ironic, but there’s also a pattern developing in recent time which does not fit, exactly.

Now, there have been some interesting revelations over the past weeks in the wake of the Conclave involving very high profile senior clergy who are often darlings of the media barons of the Left.

 First there was Cardinal Mahony of Los Angeles who was severely reprimanded by the present Archbishop of Los Angeles, Archbishop Gomes.  Cardinal Mahony has been undermining the Church’s presence in society for most if not all of his tenure during the last decades, and was a frequent target of criticism from the Wanderer, among others for his defense of clerical homosexuals and persecution of conservative clergy.  Indeed, there is a suggestion that he may not participate in the Conclave, here, here, and petition here.

Then there enter Archbishop Mueller of Regensburg Germany, whose heterodox theological perspectives were criticized early on, even before he became the new Doctrine Gardener.  The now highly placed Archbishop, who didn’t receive his Cardinal’s hat, was recently slapped hard and publicly by Cardinal Bertone when he attempted to reinstate the teaching license of a formerly Pontifical university in Peru.

As if that weren’t enough, a soon to be retired, Old Liberal Cardinal O’Brien, has been accused of indecent acts by three priests and one retired priest.   This story seemed to surface with a vengeance in the light of the Cardinal’s revellations  about married priests, he thinks we should have them, and his statements against homosexuality.

The Cardinal even missed Mass this morning.

In addition to this, is a kind of anonymous denunciation on a free website on the internet for Cardinal Daneels.  It’s hard to believe that with all of the skeletons in his closet, well, he had pictures of skeletons in his closet, the exhumation of remains as reported by Cathcon:

Up to 100 photos showing the exhumation of the bodies of the children, but also exchanges of reports between magistrates in the Dutroux affair and large parts of the judicial file were found. The fact is that these documents were only intended for the judicial authorities and, a priori, had nothing to do with the church, explained RTL journalist.

This is not the first leak of elements of the judicial record of Dutroux according to Solimando Antonio. He recalls that Cdrom of the Dutroux investigation was sent to several editors, some who had decided to publish it. According to Het Laatste Nieuws, the presence of those confidential files and reports to the archdiocese will once again support defenders of the theory of a paedophile network ... Even if, as a reminder, the court has ruled that it does not accept this theory.

There’s been nothing in the news since then about why these documents were in the Cardinal’s possession, but there’s much more in his past and present which implicates him.  Here’s the article, link:

Cardinal Danneels must not take part in the conclave! 

Does this man have the moral authority to elect a new pope of the Catholic Church? NO, NO and NO!!! Take a look at a few of his "achievements" and judge for yourself:

Appointment and protection of Roger Vangheluwe, child molestor and bishop of Brugge 

When he learnt about the child abuse he tried to cover it up. These were his words to the victim: "shouldn't you try to ask for forgiveness" (!!). He was actually suggesting that the victim would ask his aggressor for forgiveness! The tapes of the conversation were broadcast in all the Belgian media. 

Approval of sexually explicit text books in Catholic schools 

During his time as archbishop of Mechelen-Brussel, a scandal broke out about sexually explicit school books. Children of 12 years old in Catholic schools were being taught how to masturbate and try out homosexual acts. When confronted with these facts, he simply refused to receive the shocked parents and didn't take any action to stop the use of these books. 

Turning a blind eye against blatant abuses 

Fr. Luc Versteylen sj is a very famous person in Belgium. He's the founder of the extreme-leftwing (communist) political party Agalev and for many years led a sort of christian cultic sect in Viersel. In this house, mostly unmarried adolescents were encouraged to explore their sexuality. Fr. Versteylen himself is known to cohabitate with a woman, thereby publicly ignoring his priestly chastity vows. He recently also admitted to raping one of his female sect-members. Danneels never, ever took action against this man. One can confidently say that most Catholics in Belgium know of first-hand examples of priests ignoring their celibacy vows - these things are publically known. Some of these priests are even so proud of it that they like to be interviewed about it in the national newspapers. Yet bishops, whose duty it should be to maintain order, hardly ever took (take) action. 

Good friends with the freemasonry 

The freemasonry, an extremely powerful secret organisation priding itself with facilitating the legalisation of abortion, euthanasia and gay marriage in Belgium, is the biggest enemy of the Catholic Church. Instead of waging war against these demons, Danneels was good friends with them! He even went to give a lecture in one of their temples in 2008. If that is already out in the open, how much more relations may he have had which we know nothing about. 

Condoms? No problem!

Danneels is clearly one of the most left-wing cardinals in the Church. He wants change, that's for sure. He knows how far he can go, but never formally trespasses the line. One perfect example: preservatives are morally legitimate if they are used by a married couple of which one of the two partners is sero-positive. While this is technically true, one can wonder whether it's up to someone in his position to make this kind of statements. He knows all too well how this will be transmitted in popular media: Danneels opposes the pope on birth control issue. Danneels is not stupid. He does this intentionally; he intentionally creates confusion amongst his faithful, while it's his duty to guard and protect his flock as a good sheperd.
