Pope Francis Praises Encyclical Humanae Vitae: Asks Benedict for Advice

New interview of Pope Francis and praise for Pope Paul VI. and his most famous encyclical: "His genius was prophetic, he had the courage to go against the majority, to defend the moral discipline"

Rome (kath.net / RV)
"Yes".  Pope Francis affirmed with this clear statement when questioned whether he has been asking Benedict XVI. for advice.  This time he has given another interview for the Italian newspaper "Corriere della Serra" regarding his governance,  and how he was trying to put into practice what had emerged in the debate with the Cardinals in the various congregations before the conclave. "In my actions, I'm waiting for the Lord to give me the inspiration  ..."

The essence of his spiritual message he understands as "tenderness and mercy." This comes from the Gospel.  Regarding the media Francis-hype the Pope said,  "I don't like the ideological interpretations of a certain Francis-mythology. If one says, for example, he was going at night from the Vatican to bring food to the homeless in the Via Ottaviano...  That's never crossed my mind. Sigmund Freud once said, if I'm not mistaken: In each idealization is also a hidden aggression. To draw the Pope as a kind of Superman, a kind of star, seems offensive to me.  The Pope is a man who laughs, cries, sleeps quietly and has friends, like everyone. A normal person. "

About accusations of Marxism, which some have made, Francis said, "I have never shared the Marxist ideology because it is not true, but I have known many brave people who were known for Marxism." When it came to sexual abuse of children, Francis explicitly praised Benedict XVI.   He was "very brave" and had opened a way."The church has done a lot in this way. Perhaps more than any other. The statistics on the phenomenon of violence against children are impressive, but they also clearly show that the vast majority of abuse happen in the family and neighborhood environment. The Catholic Church is perhaps the only public institution that has moved with transparency and responsibility. No one else has done this. And yet the Church is the only one who is attacked."

When asked about the theme of family and divorced and remarried the Holy Father said that "there is a long path that the Church must travel. The family is in a very "serious crisis" in that  "the young people don't get married any more. "We need to give an answer. But we need to think deeply about it ... One must avoid to stay on the surface ... "  As to the presentation by Cardinal Kasper at the Consistory on the subject, Francis said that he had held a "beautiful and profound" lecture.  In the fifth point, the issue of remarried had been addressed. "I would have been worried if there had not been intense debate in the Consistory, which would have brought nothing. The Cardinals knew that they could say what they wanted, and they have presented many different points of view   that enriched. The fraternal and open exchange can nourish the theological and pastoral thinking. Regarding that, I'm not afraid, on the contrary, I'm looking for it!"

Even on marriage itself the Pope undertook to say: "The marriage is between a man and a woman. The secular states want to justify civil marriages, to address specific situations of coexistence. It drives the need to regulate economic aspects among people, such as health insurance. It's about pacts of coexistence of different kinds .. You have to see the individual cases and assess their diversity."  Francis then also made it clear that Paul VI. had the courage to go against the majority with the encyclical Humanae Vitae. "His genius was prophetic, he had the courage to go against the majority to defend the moral discipline to draw a cultural brake ... The question is not whether to change the doctrine, but if you get into the depth  and makes sure that the pastoral, the individual circumstances and what the people are each capable of take into account.  That will also be  discussed in the course of the Synod."

Then he gave praise for Orthodox Theology. "The Orthodox theology is extremely rich, and I think they have great theologians at this moment. Your picture of church and Synodality is fantastic.

" Pope Francis welcomed Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI. to the Konstistorium

Scotland is Introducing "Gay Marriage", Although the Majority is Against -- Even "Jedi Marriage"

(Edinburgh) On Thursday, the Scottish Parliament will vote on the recognition of "gay marriage". There is little doubt that the bill has  a majority in Parliament, although a clear majority of Scots is against it. Thus Scotland follows the specification of the British Prime Minister David Cameron, who has already  legalized "gay marriage".
According to Daily Mail, 86 of the 128 MPs want to vote for the bill, which is thus directed to the appropriate Commission. This will work out the details and in a year as the House will make a final decision about it.

The End of Freedom of Speech

According to the initiative committee for the protection of marriage and family Scotland for Marriage,  the new law will restrict freedom of expression.  Limitations on fundamental and human rights of free speech for opponents of "gay marriage": "The promises of the government to guarantee the freedom of expression of those who oppose the law have proven to be empty words. It takes  clear, unequivocal and legally established safeguards to protect the civil rights of the majority of Scots who do not want this bill. "

Majority of Scots against "Gay Marriage"

Parliament wants to pass a law that is rejected by a large majority of Scots.  In the largest poll ever conducted in Scotland, more than two thirds of the 77,000 respondents were against the introduction of "gay marriage". The opinion has not effected the political level. There is hardly a party that can escape the gay [Gomorrist] ideology.  Scotland Prime Minister Alex Salmond, a Leftist Nationalist  wants to sign  the government bill into law.

Jedi wedding

In order to legalize "gay marriage", the definition of marriage needs to be changed. Thus begins a domino effect that destroys the legal foundations of marriage and therefore the family. In addition to the recognition of Church and civil weddings and registered partnerships, there a third category is to be created which may be called "Belief Marriage " . The National Presbyterian Church of Scotland protested the "arbitrariness" and described the introduction of a third category as "non-sense". This third category can make any arbitrary claims for rite, which is why Scotland there is  talk of "Jedi Marriage".   If the "Jedi believers" created their own wedding ceremony, it would be acknowledged, relying on the new Scottish marriage definition.

Bishops AWOL on the Death of the Boy Scouts: One Catholic Parish is Clear

Edit: while the USCCB, and its constellation of cockroaches, brood parasites and hyenas, have issued its usual mealy-mouthed statement on issues of the day, other organizations have been less compromising.  As Stella Borealis reports, at least one parish. St. Agnes, in St. Paul, Minnesota has made a rather unequivocal statement and disolved its association with the Boy Scouts of America.  Here's what Father Mark Moriarty  said, citing a need to protect the innocence of children:

The Boy Scouts of America National Council recently voted  to approve a resolution to change the membership policy:  “No youth may be denied membership in the Boy Scouts of  America on the basis of sexual orientation or preference  alone. “
After discussing the unfortunate state of affairs  with the leadership of Troop 592 and Pack 592, as head of  the chartering institution, I have decided to withdraw the sponsorship role of Saint Agnes.
The Troop and Pack leadership have, in turn, decided to dissolve their association  with the BSA.  The last 592 Troop and Pack meeting will take place on  Monday, June 10th. At that gathering we will have an official striking of the Troop and Pack flags, which will then be  placed in the parish archives in the hopes that they may  someday be used again in more favorable circumstances.
Michael Voris is one of the few Catholic bloggers to have addressed the issue.

Bishop Franz-Josef Overbeck Criticizes Pope Benedict's Concept of Family

(Essen) In January 2012, Pope Benedict XVI defended the family at the new year's reception for the Diplomatic Corp in the Vatican.  This questioning poses a threat "for human worth and the future of humanity", said the Pope.

The special protection of marriage and family was also the Leitmotiv of the papal visit to Spain (From the 8th of July to the 9th 2009) of the 5th World Meeting of Families there.  In Valencia the Pope said, the defense of family values is "the best way, in order to go against widely spread hedonism, who reduces the relationship between people to banality, and robs their authentic virtues and beauty."

In an interview with KNA, Ruhr Bishop Franz-Josef Overbeck, criticized those who defend the traditional family yesterday:  "The earlier roles , where the husband is employed and the woman principally cares for the children doesn't exist any more.  To want to hold onto it, would be in fact social romanticism.  The educational possibilities of women and their involvement in the work process have fundamentally altered the family picture." In the interview the Bishop adopted the anti-family and anti-child positions of the business lobby, according to which the woman must be employed around the clock as a force for the economy.  Msgr Overbeck promotes the complete care of children out of house.  He did not plead only for the building of nurseries for under three year olds, but he requiests nurseries, which could also receive children at night.

Bishop Overbeck expressed himself as an economic lobbyist and also adopted the typical scheme of argument which attacks the family out of interests in profit:  "Surely there are certain areas for a labort shortage, which can be avoided by the building of more nurseries.  But on the other side it is good for a political answer to new challenges for the family.  Many women want both, to be mothers and pursue a job. I understand that."  In one statement Overbeck conveyed himself so far such as only economic lobbyists and those in public policy say, that to one a woman is in view of the "labor shortage" buttoned down,  further that mother, not only bears her children, but would like to care for them and raise them herself, is not realizable any longer.  Finally,  man will be reduced to a mere consumer, who lives to work, in order to consume.

Europe Avoids the Blessing of Children
Rotten from the waist: the real victims of the criminal left inspired destruction of the family are children.

This came from the new yearbook by 'Eurostat' -- the European statistics agency.

Polish Communist: Sexual Morality the Basis of European Civilization

A Good and Useful Finding

A Marxist with a human face has posed a connection between sexual discipline and the accomplishments of civilization.

(kreuz.net) "Are the particular rules dealing with sexual matters, which have been formed by Christian civilization, related with the accomplishments of this civilization in the areas of science, literature, art and later, engineering?"

This question was posted by the Marxist author, Leszek Kolakowski († 2009) in its "Mini-tractatus on Maxi-themes", which first appeared in German in 2002 in Frankfurt.

Kolakowski was a Polish Philosopher and Essayist. He is a proponent of Marxist ideology.

His answer: "On and apart from it we can trace that the aforementioned relation between the Christian sexual morality and the civilizing accomplishments of Europe are extant and of significance, although difficult to demonstrate."

Kolakowski is thinking about principles and not on the actual practice of them.

Because: "The mere existence of the rule is important, not only important because of its importance to property and the system of inheritance, but also because of the way it contributes to the dissemination of cultural goods and labor organization."

The philosopher comes therefore to the conclusion, "that monogamy is a good and valuable invention, regardless of how it really works in a purely sexual matters, and that the intellectual, artistic and technical achievements of Europe have monogamy as one of its pillars."

Archbishop Nienstedt Takes on the Lavender Mob

Edit: He's trying too hard to placate people who don't really care how he sugar coats it. There are many illegal and dangerous activities you have no right to do and pointing out the destructive consequences of this legislation aimed at the family is what needs to be ingrained in people's minds.

ABERROSEXUAL MARRIAGE

Church defends reality for the common good

Contrary to the Star Tribune's editorial opinion ("On gay marriage, the state is out of step," Oct. 1), the Catholic Church, along with other Bible-based denominations, does not seek to impose its own beliefs on others as it upholds the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), or when it supports a constitutional amendment on marriage as a union between one man and one woman.

The reality we are defending predates any religion or government.

It finds its logic in the complementarity of the human anatomy, as well as the male/female psyche and in the propagation of the human species.

Marriage unites a man and a woman in a unique bond so that they might form the proper context of a family in which children can grow and flourish. Government is called upon to protect that context for the sake of the common good.

Yes, the Bible reveals to believers God's plan that a man and a woman become "one flesh" in holy matrimony, and that makes our understanding of what marriage is meant to be more comprehensible.

But human reason without faith can and, in fact, historically has come to the same conclusion based on the intrinsic complementarity of husband and wife.

Moreover, to say that marriage can be one thing for believers and something else for nonbelievers implies that the truth about the human person can be manipulated at will. That line of thinking is basically flawed.

No, there can only be one truth about the human person, and marriage finds its real meaning in that understanding.

Jesuit Says Western Women Make Terrible Wives

Editor: this is from a Catholic blogger writing about the phenomenon of being single.  She describes an Asian Jesuit who tells her something which takes her aback.

Yes, I'm Entitled

I mentioned on Facebook that I was enjoying Eat, Pray, Love and was staggered by the negative response. Okay, Eat, Pray, Love is not a Catholic book. It even takes three or four swipes at Catholicism. The third section, which I hadn't got to yet, is pornographic. But the passion of the response shocked me. I mean, it's just Elizabeth Gilbert's memoirs. So she sold 5 million copies. I'm envious, too, but not angry about it.*

The most surprising comment came from an American man, a Chinese-American man.

"Fitting for an American princess," he wrote
