St. Peter's Dome is Darkened: "Laudatio si," Jesuits and UNO-Agenda-2030

Pope Francis and Ban Ki-moon on 28 April, 2015 in the Vatican
(Rome) On the evening of March 19, the Feast of St. Joseph and the third anniversary of the election of Pope Francis, St. Peter's Basilica was eclipsed in Rome for one hour. The reason for this was to participate in a global campaign of the World Wildlife Fund against fossil fuels. For the campaign, the illumination of monuments and other buildings has been turned off.

"Uncritical homage to the dominant culture"

"On this last December 8th, the opposite was the case. The facade of St. Peter's and its dome were not darkened, rather they were illuminated by an ambitious spectacle, "Son et lumiere" , which celebrated nature and was organized and financed by the eco-organization Okeanos and Vulcan," said Vaticanist Sandro Magister.
Neither the one nor the other spectacle had any realizable connection with God the Creator. A connection with the Christian religion and the Catholic Church was only from St. Peter's Basilica. Since the spectacle relates to equally profane places, they signal more the conscription of the Catholic Church in secular campaigns, as the introduction of  the world to Christianity.
"Both spectacles contained a general reference to the Encyclical Laudato si of Pope Francis," said Magister.  "The impact of Laudato si on the so-called 'Pastoral' of the Church would yet to be investigated yet."
On the Laudato si related initiatives Magister writes:
"It often seems an uncritical homage to the dominant culture by, and quite independently of, whether the fashionable eco-theories have  a scientific basis or not, while almost nothing about it is explicitly Christian in spirit."

Jesuit Centre Veritas, "secular and religious prayer"

Jesuit  Veritas Centre Trieste
A "curious" piece of evidence for the "modernization of the pastoral" is found in Trieste, says Magister. There, the cultural Centre Veritas run by the Jesuits. It is headed by Father Gaetano Piccolo, an Epistemologist who is also deputy editor of the journal Rassegna di Teologia, and responsible for the cultural apostolate of the Italian Jesuit Province.
Veritas Centre is, according to its own definition, "a workshop of cultural research, open to the encounter and interreligious and ecumenical dialogue." The chapel has been converted into a "welcome and exhibition hall", which is open for "secular and religious prayer, independent of religious affiliation."
The Veritas Centre is currently characterized mainly by spreading the encyclical Laudato si. On May 7th, a day "to raise awareness of the contents" of Laudato si is planned. May 8th ends with marathon games and sports weekof the  Bavisela Running Festival .
The Laudato si Day, which the Jesuits the call "MENS SANA", is an acronym for marathon education, nature, sports, spirituality, art, networks and associations .

"Mediating" the "Relationships" between "Laudato si" and UN Agenda 2030

Pope Francis on 25 September 2015 Before the United Nations: Vote on  SDGs
According to the program of the day, it is desired  to convey the relationships between the "encyclical Laudato si of Pope Francis and the 17 sustainable development objectives of Agenda 2030, the United Nations (Sustainable Development Goals, SDGs). This refers to the policy objectives of the United Nations, which is also referred   to as the Post-2015 agenda.
The introduction will be an evening lecture on the relationship between the Encyclical and the UN Agenda. The speaker is the Jesuit Luciano Larivera, employee of the Roman Jesuit journal La Civilta Cattolica .
According to the program "a marathon ends in the Sacred Heart Church of Trieste, where at 7 o'clock, a Vigil Mass will be celebrated for the  Ascension, the great mystery of the Christian faith and religious character of the planetary eco-alliance."
"This is where the Ascension of Jesus Christ will be ordered according to the rules of modern ecology," said Magister.

Gaia Instead of the Cross --- Praying to Mother Earth?

(Paris) A "Christian Ecological meeting"  took place from 28-30th August  in the city of Saint Etienne,  diocesan seat of the French Diocese, whose subjects revolved around the earth and the Eco-Encyclical  Laudato Si  by Pope Francis.   The event was organized by  the Diocese of Saint Etienne, the church newspaper La Vie, the Catholic establishment Service National Famille et Societé and the French Bishops' Conference.  The central theme was "Ecological Repentance," said Riposte Catholique.
Socialism was prominent around the  "Ecological Gathering:"  the former Minister  and current  President of the party Rassemblement citoyen-Cap21, a party reestablishment of Socialists, Greens and left-wing liberals of 2014 for "ecology, humanism and participatory democracy"; Jo Spiegel, Mayor of Kingersheim in Alsace and President of the Metropolitan Region Rhin-Rhone; Benoit Leclair, Vice President of the Rhone-Alpes region, and energy and climate change spokesman of the French countryside; or the militant eco-activist and left globalization opponent Genevieve Azam, who was the meeting's head.

Group dynamics, prominence and left critique of globalization

Bishop Lebrun
The program looked like a nostalgic celebration of  '68: there were endless teach-ins in many circles of chairs, collages, painting, crafts, group dynamic "processes", interreligious elements, much left critique of globalization for a "new world". The central word, "Ecological Repentance", was taken from Pope Francis' Eco Encyclical.
On Sunday, August 30,  as part of  the "Ecological Assembly" a Holy Mass which included liturgically  foreign elements. In addition to  Bishop Dominique Lebrun, several priests took part.   Instead of the cross a home-made globe was plaed in the center, around which all gathered in  a circle, including bishop and priests. Bishop Dominique Lebrun stood with Mitre, Crosier and chasuble, as well as  priests with chasubles, around the globe. The priest pictured right is holding a missal to hand.
Was Gaia, Mother Earth worshiped on Sunday, August 30 in Saint Etienne?  Was this dubious liturgy Bishop Lebrun's parting gift to the diocese of St. Etienne?
Bishop Lebrun was appointed by Pope Francis archbishop of Rouen and Primate of Normandy last 10 July. The Diocese of Saint Etienne is currently  vacant.

"No Compromises of the Church's Teaching" -- Cardinal Müller on the Bishops' Synod, SSPX, Medjugorje and Liberation Theology

(Rome) There will be "no compromise of the Church's teaching" in the Bishops' Synod this autumn. This was affirmed  by Cardinal Gerhard Müller, the prefect of the CDF. It is meant to seek pastoral ways to better integrate people in difficult situations in the community. While there is, says the Cardinal, no "substantial news" regarding  the SSPX, there would be a decision to Medjugorje in the fall.  Katholisch.de, the media portal of the German Bishops' Conference published an  an interview with the Cardinal.

Renewal and Deepening of  Marriage Preparation Necessary

Overlooking the Synod of Bishops on marriage and family  the German cardinal stressed that the Church must help "the people, even Catholics, ...to re-understand what the point is to marry and so, also publicly, to bind a person." While the discussion is so far turned mainly to the "failure" of marriages, Cardinal Müller stressed the need for "a renewal and deepening" of marriage preparation.
The cardinal also confirmed that the "ordinary general assembly" of the CDF will deal this "autumn" with Medjugorje: "The opinion of the Congregation will be  submitted  to the Holy Father for a further decision."

Various encounters with SSPX , "which should enhance mutual trust"

When asked whether the "unification efforts were suspended or postponed," since "recently" the  Priestly Society of St. Pius X had "become noticeably quiet," said Cardinal Müller that there was  "no substantial news in this issue." "The Holy Father wants us to keep at it: with 'determination and patience.'" In the "recent months", there were "encounters of various kinds, which should enhance mutual trust." "A prerequisite for a full reconciliation" said the Cardinal again, "is the signing of a doctrinal preamble, to ensure full compliance in the essential matters of faith." The Prefect's response   suggests that this singing the Preamble of 2012 is not required..
The recent trip to Latin America by Pope Francis has shown "that the Church must use an authentic liberation theology." He, Müller, has worked "for many years in accordance with the instruction of the Congregation" which the Marxist liberation theology was condemned in the 1980s, "for such a theology that is not aligned ideologically, but interested in the good of man and society." The election of Pope Francis on the Chair of Peter is "providential" because the majority of Catholics today live in Latin America. "Pope Francis has strengthened the believers  on his journey from the Gospel and encouraged and called the peoples there to  a peaceful and equitable coexistence. This is an order of the day," said Müller.

"I have Totally Committed my Life in Fidelity to the Pope"

When asked about his statement, there is a need to " theologically restructure" the pontificate of Pope Francis, the cardinal affirmed that "the specific task of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. . It has to promote the faith and morals throughout the Catholic Church on behalf of the Pope and protect his personal relationship with the reigning pope." Cardinal Müller said: "Personally,  I have totally committed my entire life in loyalty to the Pope."
Addressing eco-Encyclical Laudato Si, Müller said, that he is "very grateful for the encyclical" to the Pope. The document had a "very strong social-ethical component" and leads from "the tradition of the social encyclicals."  It "seems" to him that the Pope  proposed, "to open the eyes of all people of good will to the problem of environmental and human ecology and promote dialogue with each other  at all levels."
About the controversial issues is the allowance of remarried divorcees to Communion and the acceptance of homosexuality, with which the Synod of Bishops will deal next October, Cardinal Müller said: "Here the Synod faces the challenge to find pastoral ways of greater integration in the community, without compromising the Word of Jesus and the Church's teaching based on it. The family is irreplaceable importance for the future of the Church and of society. "

Global Warming Skeptic Uninvited to Give Input for Eco-Encyclical

(Rome) A French climatologist who is one of the well-known climate skeptics and  presented a scientifically acclaimed book on  solar activity in 2014 was to attend the climate meeting in the Vatican, organized for the end of last April by the Pontifical Academy of SciencesDespite assurances to the contrary by Cardinal Turkson, he was refused entry.
The scientist Philippe de Larminat, first a university professor in Nantes, then in Rennes, had heard of the Vatican Conference "Protect the Earth, Dignify Humanity", which took place on April 28 at the Vatican. De Larminat is one of the most original thinkers among the climate skeptics. In his book "Changement Climatique" he presents the thesis that solar activity has far greater influence on the global climate, than it could ever experience from man.  A meeting at the Vatican on the subject and given the announced professional level, naturally had to arouse the interest of the scientist, as the Washington Post reported. De Larminat signed up for the meeting and bought a ticket for the flight from Paris to Rome. However, five days before the conference started, he received an electronically transmitted message that there was no place for him.

Pontifical Academy Zealously Sifted All Pending Climate Skeptics Out

De Larminats book on the solar activity
As the scientist learned, other colleagues fared no better. The Pontifical Academy of Sciences sifted all the climate skeptics out from the registered researchers with great zeal. "They didn't  want to hear any other opinion," de Larminat told the Washington Post .
Apparently, the only opinion heard was that  of the representatives for a man-made Global Warming hypothesis. Dissenting opinions or even a scientific discourse do not seem to have been desirable from the outset. The meeting was to serve as a prelude for the Pope Francis eco-encyclical.
The focus should not be so attached to the literal content of the encyclical, because paper is patient, but on the connections, Connections, that have come into existence by this document. Who wanted what from the Pope in advance  and what did he achieve in what he set out to do? Above all: Where was it conceived that  the Holy See would offer no resistance in the future within the framework of international institutions? It was the Vatican, whose delegation in the past more than 20 years,  forging coalitions among the States for the right to life and protection of the family, against abortion and overpopulation ideology.

Cardinal Turkson Secured de Larminat Right to Speak

De Larminat had a friendly encounter last March  with Cardinal Peter Turkson, President of the Pontifical Council for Justice and Peace, who was officially in charge of the preparation of the eco-encyclical. Cardinal Turkson was also to present "Laudato Si"  on June 18 to the world public. In the presence of two other people, Cardinal Turkson assured the French scientist, he would have enough space to present his theses at the meeting in April.
The chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences , Bishop Marcel Sanchez Sorondo, who is the real organizer of the  Holy See's approach to the man made Global Warming hypothesis, however, spectacularly  blocked any critical opinion. On April 17, he decreed an explicit veto of de Laminat's  participation at the Vatican meeting.
Some prominent conservatives, especially economic and natural scientists were contacted during the preparation of eco-encyclical from the Vatican and asked for their contribution. "Many, however, experienced a shock" when  after the presentation of Laudato Si  they had to say, "that none of their contributions were taken into account" as  Raymond Arroyo, the chief editor of the Catholic broadcaster EWTN, explained.

Pleading For Sandro Magister and Against the Poison of the New Courtiers of the Pope

Sandro Magister
(Rome) The expulsion of Sandro Magister after 41 years as an accredited journalist of the Holy See has  led to diverse reactions, between unbridled glee and states of shock. The withdrawal of accreditation "is the worst thing for a Vaticanist" gleefully wrote wrote Magister's  opponent Francesca Chaouqui who is one of the "new courtiers" of this pontificate. The statement hits the point and explains the state of shock of those who afford themselves an independent view outside the jubilee choir for the Argentine pontiff. It's an attitude that is increasingly becoming a dangerous luxury when even when one as veterate and renowned as Sandro Magister Vaticanist must be put to the sword without mercy. While the courtiers have erupted in loud jubilation over the slaying of their "enemy", the voices among Vaticanists  can be counted on one hand, who dare to take sides for their previously highly respected colleagues, to move some things into perspective.
One who has done so publicly is Riccardo Cascioli, the chief editor of the Catholic  Internet newspaper La Nuova Bussola Quotidiana (NBQ). Here is plea for Sandro Magister and against the "new courtiers" in the Catholic Church.

No mercy for Magister

by Riccardo Cascioli
The premature announcement of documents is never a pleasant thing, but it is difficult to understand why the pre-publication of the Pope's encyclical Laudato si  two full days has brought the Holy See to the brink of a nervous breakdown and some Vaticanists laughably losing even their sense, are claiming the incident as a conspiracy to damage from Pope Francis.
What kind of a conspiracy could depend on the contents of the encyclical being unveiled two days early? On the contrary, the initiative of the Espresso appears to have heightened the attention of the official press conference to present the Encyclical  on 18 June at 11 O'clock. And it was only in order to determine any differences between the already known version and the final version.

The Public Pillory and Toxic Malice for Magister

Yet the advance publication has been treated like a conspiracy, so that the Vatican press office even took the drastic measure and indefinitely suspended the accreditation of longtime Vaticanist Sandro Magister, who is believed to be the culprit of the incident. Not only that: The letter by which Magister's sanction was announced  was publicly posted in the press service of the Vatican and published with great luridness on the semi-official news blog Il sismografo. That's not all: as if it were not already enough punishment to publicly pillory Magister without any process, there appeared tons of poisonous comments on the internet  by colleagues and Vatican representatives against Magister.
Magister is a very famous Vatican expert. His official website chiesa.espresso and his blog Settimo Cielo are much read and at the international level. For many Catholics, but also journalists, Magister is an important reference point in order to be informed about developments in the Catholic Church and the Vatican, which go beyond the official statements. It is obvious that he has made some enemies over time. The way he is now treated, in any case, raises a number of questions.

Nothing like that at Vatileaks - did not violate any embargo period

Eugenio Scalfari took the place of the Pope and formulated its own answers  of the same - impunity
Mainly because there were no comparable penalties in connection with the Vatileaks scandal, as numerous personal and confidential documents from the desk of Benedict XVI. were stolen and published and caused a scandal. By comparison, the preliminary publication of a public encyclical is ridiculous. In addition, Magister can at best be only indirectly responsible for the publication, then the copy of the encyclical-draft - as has been said from the very beginning - was landed on the table of the Espresso  -Chief Editors who decided the publishing and asked Magister to write a short introduction.
Ultimately, you can not even speak of a violation of the embargo period, as the American Vatican expert John Allen remarked. An embargo period is there when a document shall be made in available in advance to  journalists to give them time to read it and to prepare for the publication. In practice, this means: I give you a document in advance  and you commit yourself to not speaking about it before a specified time. In this specific case, the Holy See, however, had decided, which is unusual and not very pleasant, to present the Encyclical only a few hours before the press conference. No journalist had thus officially received it and was therefore bound to a fixed vesting period. A moral obligation of the Espresso chief editor would only be given if the invisible hand that has leaked him the text  would require experts to comply with the embargo period on June 18., but that seems highly unlikely.
Nevertheless, the wrath of the Vatican erupted over Magister: no extenuating circumstances, no mercy, only public disgrace and expulsion from the Olympus the Vaticanists.

No Mercy for Magister - a Reward for Eugenio Scalfari

One behaved quite differently  with the old fox Eugenio Scalfari, as in the two interviews published with Pope Francis. One in October, 2013, the other in July 2014. Both caused no small stir in the Church. Then it became known that the first interview statements were put in the mouth of the Pope by  Scalfari, which he had never said. And that the second interview was supposed to never be released because Scalfari had committed, not to speak publicly about this private conversation with the Pope. The only measure against Scalfari was a public statement by the Holy See. But on the contrary. Scalfari was even rewarded for the two interviews. Both were printed a few months ago in an official book by  the Lev Vatican Publishing house.

Reckoning With one Who did not Join in the Chorus of Adulation

The gloating of the papal Commissioner Chaouqui about Magisters expulsion
One can reasonably assume, therefore, that Magister, is rather than paying for the advance publication of the encyclical, but instead for his constant informational activities with which he strives to brighten backgrounds and illuminate decisions and statements in a way that does not correspond to the chorus of adulation which surrounds and damages this pontificate. The incident with the encyclical is just a pretext to settle accounts with a leading journalist, but is considered as a reference point for the opposition. A precise signal that is being emitted by the new courtiers and to all who dare to question, and according to an old strategy: to teach one hundred strike one.
It is therefore no coincidence that those who spread the poison against Magister, are among the enthusiastic supporters of the new charity. This includes those who should of their own volition and on the basis of their institutional position, employ a certain lack of self control. There is the s PR expert hired for a Pontifical Commission, Francesca Immacolata Chaouqui who has never forgiven Magister that he publicized her  tendency to too great loquacity, wrote immediately after becoming aware of  Magisters punishment on Facebook:
The entry ends with the words: "Happy Sandro, Ex-Vatican expert". Any further comment is superfluous. Law has Chaouqui was only correct in stating that the withdrawal of accreditation is "the worst thing for a Vaticanist."

Betting that L'Espresso already published the final version

The entry gives testimony that the spurting of venom from the Vatican is far from past. This is evidenced by a further signal: Il Fatto Quotidiano has named  the Secretariat of State Security as a source of the copy that the Espresso leaked. The daily newspaper also claimed, it involves  an alleged act of sabotage by "conservatives" against Pope Francis.  Information that has been properly spread not by chance. Rather, it appears to be a notice that we will soon be informed of things quite differently.
NB: The Vatican spokesman Father Lombardi explained that it told Espresso  that it was  only a draft of the encyclical and not to publish the final version version. He made it clear that the text has undergone further changes. But we are willing to take a bet that the published text already represents the final version. On Thursday we will know it.
