Croatian Football Coach Prays Rosary During Game!

Croatia coach Zlatko Dalic is the discovery of the World Cup. Every day, the devout Catholic prays the Rosary, even during the game

Edit: what a Neo-Pelagian!

Croatia (kath.net) The Croatian football team reached the World Cup final on Wednesday night with a win against England for the first time. The master of the success is obviously the new Croatian coach Zlatko Dalic, who has coached the team since last October and is now considered the coaching discovery of the World Cup. What few outside Croatia know. Dalic is a devout Catholic who prays the rosary every day. Even during a game he has this always with him and leaves him hardly out of hand.

For his success, he also refers to his beliefs. "Everything I've achieved in my life and in my career, I owe my faith, I'm very grateful to the Lord," he tells Croatian radio stations. "If a man loses hope, then he must rely on the merciful God and our faith."

Cardinal Simoni: "Pope Francis, Has Changed His Opinion About Medjugorje"

(Rome) Pope Francis has apparently "changed" his opinion on the alleged appearances of Medjugorje and was about to announce "good news". This was addressed by Cardinal Ernest Simoni SJ, who was sent by Pope Francis to the 28th International Youth Festival in Medjugorje.
On Sunday, the English-speaking, Croatian news page titled Total Croatia News , cited the Croatian daily newspaper Vecernji List.
"Medjugorje apparitions close to official recognition."

Cardin Simoni in Medjugorje

The Albanian Jesuit Ernest Simoni was elevated to the rank of Cardinal by Pope Francis. Simoni had been detained by the communist regime for almost ten years in Albania until the early 1990s.
"In front of 50,000 young people from all over the world," the 88-year-old cardinal said at the Freilichtfestival in front of the parish church of Medjugorje. Before he embarked to the Herzegovinian town, he had asked the Pope for his blessing. According to the media reports, the Cardinal said that Francis had little information on Medjugorje, and that this had come from the "opponents" of the phenomenon. This is why the Pope could not have "a good opinion." But things would "change", according to the "personal ambassador of the pope".
In the past, Pope Francis was very critical of the phenomenon in which the Mother of God appeared as a kind of "postbot" or "head of a post office" to convey "messages" at a certain time. In the autumn of 2013, he mentions in a morning sermon in Santa Marta Medjugorje, in particular, as a negative example, as those present heard. The two summaries of Radio Vatican and Osservatore Romano did not mention Medjugorje.
According to Vecernji List, there is "no doubt" that Pope Francis "has now decided" to convey an "optimistic message". Cardinal Simoni preached "openly and without any reservations about the apparitions of Our Lady," according to the Croatian newspaper, which ended its report with the words:
"This ultimately signals that we are a small step from the final decision on the papal status of Medjugorje."

People Don't Want "Gay Marriage" --- Referendum in Croatia

(Agram) Next Sunday a referendum will take place in Croatia for a referendum "gay marriage", which makes for intense discussions. The polls predict a victory for the defense of marriage and family and opponents of "gay marriage" ahead of the flock is especially to the Catholic Church.

The referendum aims to preemptively commit a ban in the Constitution to the legalization of "gay marriage". The pollsters assume a clear lead of those who are for this constitutional amendment.

According to a post yesterday in the Croatian daily newspaper poll, there is a large majority of 68 percent, who are going to vote on Sunday for the constitutional amendment that is to formalize the marriage exclusively as a union between a man and a woman in the Croatian Constitution.

Only 27 percent of Croats are speaking out against the referendum. Five percent are undecided. The referendum was initiated by a group of organizations that are close to the Catholic Church. In May, the group collected more than 750,000 signatures and thus crossed the hurdle to initiate the first referendum in the history of Croatia. This initiative was supported already in the collection of signatures of nearly 20 percent of the total electorate.

As the speaker of the ballot initiative declared, it is the goal of the organizer to prevent that "one day there will be legalized gay marriage in Croatia". The group was driven mainly by events in France, where a socialist majority in parliament, without consulting the citizens and despite strong protests from the citizenry, introduced "gay marriage".

The Catholic Church in Croatia has called for a "Yes" vote, but also across the lines of religious minorities, such as the Orthodox Serbs and the Bosnian Muslims. The bourgeois and right-wing parties have also called for a "Yes". The Socialist government and the Left parties, a significant part of the media, the universities and the cultural elite reject the initiative and really want to introduce the "gay marriage".

Croatia: 750,000 Signatures Against "Homosexual Partnerships" -- With National Referendum Against Government Proposal

(Zagreb) The Citizens Committee On behalf of the family has gathered in Croatia nearly 750,000 signatures against the legalization of "gay marriage". The signatures were presented to President Josip Leko in the the Croatian Parliament on Friday in Zagreb, such as CBA reported. The committee wants to enshrine marriage as a community of life between a man and a woman in the Constitution, as is already the case in the constitutions of Hungary and Poland. A nationwide referendum is sought.

The Citizens Committee On Behalf of the Family wants to prevent the announcement of the left-led government introduction of same-sex registered partnerships. For a binding referendum about 400,000 signatures of citizens eligible to vote is needed. The Citizens Committee for the Protection of Marriage and the Family was able to collect almost twice that number of signatures.

Representatives of the Communist Party which is now called the SDP,to which belong both the Prime Minister Milanovic and Parliament Speaker Leko, appeared anxious. SDP representatives expressed "doubts" whether a referendum on this issue was ever allowed. In 2012 the limited privileges afforded to aberrosexuals by a Left parliamentary majority, were rejected by a referendum of the Slovene people. The Citizens Committee On Behalf of the Family in Croatia, which has been governed since 2011 by a Left-dominated coalition, has the same aims.

The 1527-1918 Austrian Croatia which was part of Austria from 1527-1918, became a full member state of the European Union on the 1st of July as 28th full member.

Compare this level of resistance to an alien agenda to the way it passed in Minnesota.  Stella Borealis points out that the efforts of a popular referendum against were outspend by 2:1.  He writes:

Autumn Leva of Minnesota for Marriage said her group raised $200,000, and had three registered lobbyists compared to 14 on the side advocating same-sex marriage. Minnesotans United For All Families, the group that supported same-sex marriage, has previously said it spent more than $2 million in a successful lobbying campaign that featured phone banks, television commercials and personal appeals to lawmakers.

Just some thoughts. The Archdiocese spent money and probably some/all of the other five dioceses spent money, too.

The National Organization for Marriage in California also spent money. And some of the Proposition 8 staffers in California were made available (by phone?) to Minnesota For Marriage.

And when MN Unived say they spent "more than $2 million", I would like to know HOW MUCH MORE than $2 million. And from whom did they get it?

In Croatia, pope to pray at the tomb of martyred Cardinal Stepinac

Editor: There is a Marxist professor out there who claims to know that Blessed Aloysius Stepanic was a Nazi collaborator, repeating the Marxist propaganda he absorbed when he went to Yugoslavia as a boy.  First of all, comparing someone to Nazis is a really tired old slur.  Who knows what kinds of compromising interrelations went on there, but it's a strong indicator of one's political affiliations, especially Marxist ones, when they repeat certain lies.

Cardinal Puljic Must Vacate Residence-- Sarajevo Court Upholds Communist Decision: Croatia in an Uproar

(Sarajevo)  In the past 17th of November there was a final judgement by the Bosnian-Herzegovinan Federal Government in Sarajevo, has ordered the vacation of the residence of the Archbishop of Vrhbosna-sarajevo, Vinko Cardinal Puljuic, from the Episcopal Palace.  The residence, the property of the Curia, was confiscated in the past by the Communist regime, to house there Communist or Muslim spies, according to Corrispenza Romana.

During the Bosnian war the Cardinal was again in occupation of the residence.  Not just the residence, but the entire Palace was bugged with listening devices, including the bedroom of the Cardinal.  The widow and the other relatives of the last, Communist spy, who had continued to live in the residence and has died, complained to the court and demanded the return of the residence.  15 years after the reinstatement to the rightful owner, the Archdiocese of Vrhbosna-Sarajevo, the Federal Government of Sarajevo unexpectedly ruled in favor of the widow which was in transgression of every fundamental law.  On the 17th of November the court decided that the Archdiocese, which which had been stolen by the Communist regime and given to a Communist Agent, must now deliver it to his widow.  At the same time, the court has ordered Cardinal Puljic to leave the residence.  The Cardinal has stoutly replied that he will not leave the residence.

The Croatian Press in Bosnia, the Herzegovina and Croatians have been in an uproar since the judgment.  A wave of protest has gripped Croatia.  There are voices, who are speaking in preparation of a Croatian mass demonstration in Sarajevo, to which Croatians will come from all of their accustomed areas to gather in the Bosnian Capital.

This renewed attack on the Catholics of Croatia in Bosnia-Herzegovina are met with general silence by the  international community of nations, which holds Bosnia-Herzegovina in a protective status.  Cardinal Puljic protests to the high representatives of Bosnia-Herzegovina, the Austrian diplomat Valentin Inzko, against the judgment.  The  Kärntner Slovene explained simply that it can do nothing.  A witness to the Cardinal's consequent discussion with a Slovenian Bishop along with Inzko has encouraged heavy condemnations to the UN-delegation and EU-special agent against this act of piracy.

Inzko works as the higher representative with plenary powers in Bosnia-Herzegovina.  Against every form of open rights violations or discriminating judgments he can intervene directly and immediately, and officially remove those responsible from their offices, be they civil servants, mayors, judges or even ministers.

These plenary powers are in any case never invoked in the case of decisions related to political questions, behind them the Muslim party of the Democratic Alliance (SDA) stands, as they are permitted by corresponding directives from the American Government.  The SDA is the strongest party in Bosnia since 1990 and has formed all of the governments.  The Catholic Croatians with some 17 percent are not only the smallest of the three Bosnia-Herzegovina populations and religious communities united by force, but they are certainly the most discriminated against.

Cardinal Schönborn’s visit to Medjugorje 'not a statement,' spokesman says

Cardinal Schönborn's masonic sympathies were well explained and demonstrated by Kreuz.net earlier this year when wrote about how he had attended his masonic father's masonic funeral and enjoys the good opinion of Masonic leaders in Austria today, leaders who are not quite so fond of some of his less correct brother Bishops. So, with these strong sympathies, it seems safe tocall them so, the Cardinal is attending another Masonic locale, Medjugorje.

However, his communications director, Father J. Fürnkranz indicates that this was not to be a public visitatio.

Cardinal Schönborn’s visit to Medjugorje 'not a statement,' spokesman says

Medjugorje, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Nov 16, 2009 / 02:55 pm (CNA).- Cardinal Christoph Schönborn will visit Medjugorje, the small town in Bosnia-Herzegovina where six young people have allegedly been witnesses of apparitions from the Virgin Mary. But according to the Archdiocese of Vienna, the trip is “completely private” and does not imply a statement from the cardinal on the veracity of the apparitions.

“It was supposed to be a completely private visit, it was not supposed to go out to the internet,” Fr. Johannes Fürnkranz, personal secretary to the Archbishop of Vienna, explained to CNA.

The cardinal’s visit will take place between December 8th and January 4th.

“The cardinal's visit was supposed to be absolutely personal and not public, but since it has been leaked, I can only confirm that it will take place. There is no statement whatsoever involved (in the visit),” Fr. Fürnkranz told CNA.

The local Church authorities, including Bishop Ratko Peric, whose diocese encompasses Medjugorje, have declared that the alleged apparitions are not to be published or promoted.
