This is remarkable. My theory is that the image on the shroud was only created at the moment of resurrection when Christ's body was transfigured for the second time.
I still side with John Calvin on this. For centuries art depicted the nails piercing his hand, now the wounds have been moved to his wrists? Seems logical to those with a rudimentary understanding of anatomy but the Romans knew where in the hand to nail for it to actually work.
I put no more stock in this than the image of Mother Theresa in a cinnamon roll.

If you buy stock in a failed company like John Calvin, especially in something as important as art, you’re likely bankrupt in other areas as well.
DeleteEven the Pinoy kids who imitate Christ in His crucifiction have nails driven into their hands.
Romans were masters of judicial torture, so driving nails into hands and feet make a lot of sense.
Mr. Hornbeam, the nails entered the hand at an angle and exited at the wrist
ReplyDeleteThe nails won’t tear through if you:
ReplyDelete1) rope the wrists to most of the weight is borne by the ropes.
2) don’t use a dead corpse to test your hypothesis.
More evidence that Christianity is an elaborate myth.
ReplyDeleteModernity is founded on a myrid of myths, such as materialism, scientism, and the myth that Chirstianity is a myth, lol.
DeleteSo one day this limey “doctor” is peddling white clots in cadavers caused by mRNA vaccines and now he pivots to The Shroud.
ReplyDeleteMakes sense.
