Like it or not, this kind of Turkish government repression provides another reason why Turkey is excluded from membership of the EU.
I think it has more to do with Turkroaches having free movement into the EU.
Hundreds of thousands of Turks were welcomed into Germany over 50 years ago under the 'Gastarbeiter' program. Thousands of children born to those workers have become German citizens so they have had free movement in the EU for decades.
What the EU won't do, maybe ever, is to admit Turkey into full membership and one of the reasons is this kind of selective repression.
