[Outreach] One of the major documents of the Second Vatican Council includes this stirring claim that has become a central norm of Catholic social teaching:
With respect to the fundamental rights of the person, every type of discrimination, whether social or cultural, whether based on race, sex, color, social condition, language, or religion, is to be overcome or eradicated as contrary to God’s intent. (“Gaudium et Spes,” 29)
These words committed the Catholic Church to opposing all unjust discrimination. They come from the pivotal 1965 document “Gaudium et Spes,” otherwise known as the “Pastoral Constitution on the Church in the Modern World.” At the end of a momentous, four-year-long council, the first in nearly 100 years, the assembled bishops of the world committed the Roman Catholic Church to pursuing an agenda of extending human rights to all people.

So?
ReplyDeleteThe teaching of Jesus Christ, "Love one another as I have loved you" is based on the ancient moral aphorism: 'What you would not like other doing to you, don't do to them.'
ReplyDeleteIt's called the Golden Rule and it informs Catholic Social Teaching and the lives of those who practice it. Ask, for example, anyone in the St Vincent de Paul outreaches.
Most people at Saint Vincent de Paul nowadays are far away from orthodox Catholicism.
DeleteIf I were a filthy bender like Gaybrielle, I’d hope I’d be honest enough to say that Id want the Church and laity to bully me for being a poof!
ReplyDelete"....Id want the Church and laity to bully me for being a poof!"
ReplyDeleteGet help for the self-loathing and read the New Testament, Tucker. It'll be a revelation to you and may lead to a conversion to Christianity.

ReplyDelete"He that loves his life in this world will lose it". "He that hates his life in this world will have eternal life in the next".
So much for the faggot "self-loathing" cry. Try loathing yourself a bit more. You might make some progress.
Just your contributions here, reveal a good deal of self-loathing and unChristian behavior, Gaybrielle.
ReplyDeleteI don’t know where you get the idea that Gaybrielle has any self-loathing? He has made his bet and seems ready to meet his Maker and face the consequences. Good luck with that.
ReplyDeleteThere was this queer priest we had at school who had the same self-assurance about everything he did. He was insufferably leftist but came up out of a more conservative milieu in Southwestern Minnesota. He frequently had these shrill outbursts and had an imperious nature, especially when he was wrong. These struck me as a manifestation of self-loathing and compensation for his effeminacy.
ReplyDelete"Most people at Saint Vincent de Paul nowadays are far away from orthodox Catholicism.'
ReplyDeleteTypical of the style of argument used by Bonker the irrational: 'If you can't beat 'em, bury 'em in bullshit.'
I can see why Feybrielle loves the non-judgemental and non-sectarian big charity employees at Saint Vincent de Paul.
ReplyDeleteMatthew 25:35-40
ReplyDelete"For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’
“Then these righteous ones will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry and feed you? Or thirsty and give you something to drink? Or a stranger and show you hospitality? Or naked and give you clothing? When did we ever see you sick or in prison and visit you?’
“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’"
- Jesus Christ describing the Last Judgment.
The St Vincent de Paul people do all of this and more. Racism and social contempt of all kinds have nothing in common with Christ.
Even the Devil quotes Scripture, Feybrielle.
ReplyDeleteVery self-serving of you, by the way. I’ll bet you’ve done even less for the poor than the priest who refused to aid the Samaritan.
Regarding Jesus speaking at the last Judgement:
ReplyDeleteHe will not say: "You were a c**ksucker". "Go right ahead and continue".
"He will not say: "You were a c**ksucker". "Go right ahead and continue".
ReplyDeleteWhy not? He'll possibly be saying exactly that to you, Nemo 5:21 AM.

No, Gaybrielle.
I will not go on a date with you.
Hey Gaybriyell.
ReplyDeleteI heard you gave Monkeypox to your dog. If we
we’re in OT times, you’d be stoned. And, I don’t mean with Thug’s pot 🍁
re: BC. I am a BC (Boston College) football fan. I believe that you are a little "loose" with your definition of "social contempt". The Church has always preached "sin & penance". I am prejudiced against murderers & for their just prosecution. ----- That is where the socialist justice Church has gone way over the cliff on the left side. There is no reason for "social contempt" for those that protect society such as police officers. Murder & other crimes have become social justice parameters & a gauge of a just & equitable society. ---- Alvin Bragg & his chipmunks in NYC should offer a warning sign for the reform of the Church. The acceptance of homosexuality by the Vatican has opened the door to the blunting of sin & penance. There is no longer sin & therefore no need of penance for man/woman.---Original sin is out. The natural goodness of man is in. This evolutionary reformer from Argentina is a "snake" with a devious agenda.---When the Ottomans approached Constantinople in 1453, the Byzantines refused to welcome them with "open arms". That was none too charitable. With your logic, they deserved to be butchered & their women taken into slavery.
