"Paddy" is a term used to describe Irish people, as in "Paddy wagon", because so many were policemen in urban areas like Boston. You've never heard the term??
Of course I've heard the Irish being described as "paddies". I've also heard the term "no Irish need apply". Why is it okay to use "racist" words to describe the Irish but using the "n" word is a hate crime?
