For decades, 53-year-old Bernie* kept the secrets of his childhood deeply buried.
As a boy growing up in a Ballarat orphanage in the 1970s, Bernie told the ABC's Revelation program that he was abused on multiple occasions by George Pell, then a priest in the diocese of Ballarat.
For years Bernie was convinced that if he reported the abuse, he would not be believed.
"I would hear Pell's become Bishop," Bernie says.
"Pell's become Archbishop. Pell's become a Cardinal. Who's gonna believe a little boy from a home against that conglomerate? You know against that bloody goliath?"

ABC -Australian Broadcasts Corporation, the filthy rug that is MUCH MUCH worse than your own CNN. They hate everything descent, show women taking their panties and showing their dirty bums in order to offend conservatives, the news that attacked the Covington Catholic kids with the same furiousity as your American lefty media. Their ani-bias against the Catholic Church is indescribable. I. Don't. Believe. One. Word. They. Are. Saying.
ReplyDeletePell has an MO of pursuing victims in the showers.
ReplyDeleteThe story was run in all of the major Australian news outlets:

Les Tyack is a pretty standup guy and a credible witness. I've been bringing this up through the whole thing.

It really comes as no surprise that the man who was so big on Soho Liturgies that offered a place for "Catholic" aberrosexuals to hook up would have these kinds of accusations surfacing.
Yes, the aberrosexual Voris quite possibly one of the cruisers to frequent these so-called 'Soho liturgies.' His kind of scene.
ReplyDeleteIt should come as no surprise that Australia's rabidly anti-Catholic media would magically produce new claimants. Expect them in droves now. Funny how "Bernie" never said a word during the previous Pell witch hunt, but suddenly comes forth now that Pell has been vindicated and released from prison.

ReplyDeleteVery disheartening true or no.
When even Karl Keating was warning against aberrosexuals and those promoting that agenda who were all over WYD, as they usually are, when it was held in Sydney, what was Pell's response? Pell took the opportunity to assure everyone that the WYD Stations were suitably Interfaith.
ReplyDeleteWhatever Cardinal Pell did or said (I hated him for not defending One True Faith during the infamous debate with Dawkins), doesn't matter regarding the unlawful conviction two years ago. If Pell did something wrong, he should paid for it. However, in this particular case, he was not guilty.
ReplyDeleteIt seems like an injustice, but when evildoers like Weigel and Donahue are defending him so hard, not to mention the entire NeoCath apologetics establishment, I have to look in askance. (You know, like Lysis, American Conservative, Worst Things, Catholic World Report...)
DeleteTancred, again, if he is guilty of any crime, it HAS to be proven. THIS particular case WAS a phony one fabricated by Victorian police and spreaded by hateful commie media. I lived in communist Poland. I know how communist media propaganda works. The people in my birth country, including my family members, were convicted on false premises.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, SHM is made of the same filthy rug as ABC.
And just to let you know, I love this blog and checking here every day.
I’m afraid his witnesses are real and credible. Just because they’re out of statute, it doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be believed. You yourself know this man is a clerical opportunist just as bad as men like Donahue and Weigel who defend him.
DeleteDear Anna. That (negative) appeal to authority is a logical fallacy.
ReplyDeleteWhile it may be true that ABC stinks like the bottom of a monkey's cage it does not follow logically that everything they produce is unworthy of belief.
If they produce reports that seem credible it makes no sense to reject them out of hand any more than it is logical to believe everything said by Pope Francis, or the 1965-1968 BCE (Bestest Council Ever).
Us Catholics have to make out own judgments about controversies...
1962-1965 BCE (Bestest Council Ever)
ReplyDeleteThere's a great deal more worry for Pell in the very near future. Volumes 17-18 of the Royal Commission have been not been published because the Pell matter has been 'sub judice.' Now that is no longer the case, those volumes that deal with Pell and Pell related cases, will be redacted soon, tabled in the Federal Parliament and therefore put in the public domain. Pell’s head will be spinning and keep a look out for the ultra right wing media as they shriek 'conspiracy’ louder and more persistently.
ReplyDelete1) Tancred, I trust your judgment. You have obviously followed Pell's career longer than anyone commenting here, inasmuch as we'd love to believe that someome defending the Deposit of the Faith couldn't have sinned.
ReplyDelete2) What is Gaybriel Peter Phillips maundering on about? Who is this "ultra right wing media" he shrieks about? Name names, please. Share that secret knowledge that you gaily intimate in every post.
His comment belongs on Huffpost or some similar site. What's more, the second sentence of his diatribe is slightly misleading. Pace Tancred, it looks like GP's head should be spinning, but, if so, doesn't that have more to do with GP's apprehension of his sins vis a vis our Lord's Perfect Justice than Gaybriel's sociopolitical concerns?
