Father Antonio Lunghi, 88, celebrated Sunday Mass in Castello d'Agogna, Italy, despite a diocesan and State ban due to the coronavirus.
The bells rang and eight (!) faithful participated. The priest was reported to the police and risks a conviction for failing to comply with the public order.
Lunghi explained that he was not aware of the situation and is not familiar with the Internet.

Always trust the cops to bash the good people.
Unlike this true Priest of Jesus Christ will the rest of the faithless Catholic clergy hide and cower?
Have any of them begged for God's merciful hand and Our Lady's Motherly love to vanquish this disease? I doubt it.
Bless his heart.

"The bells rang and eight (!) faithful participated." How perfect is it that the number is 8. The Catholic faith has always taught that the number 8 signifies eternity and salvation. Until V2 baptismal fonts were always 8 sided, churches were often 8 sided as well. In Genesis 8 souls are saved from the Flood and from those 8 souls descended all the people of a New Creation. God created the world in 6 days and on the 7th day He rested in the tomb on Holy Saturday so that on the 8th day, Easter Sunday He rose from the dead. Time is measured in increments of 7 days but Eternity is counted from the 8th day, the day Our Lord rose to a new life of Glory. Not for nothing is the mathematical symbol of infinity the number 8 on its side. The Hebrews used the same symbols for letters as well as numbers. It is not a mere coincidence that the letters in Hebrew of the name Jesus may be read as the numbers 888. How perfect then is it that an 88 year old priest offered Mass witnessed by 8 souls. 88+8 gives us 3 8s which represents Jesus and the Trinity. The Bells announced the Holy Mass to the 8 and to Catholics before V2 the sound of bells reptesented both the sound of Heaven and the Voice of God. Amen
And before V2, the cow jumped over the Moon, horses ran on rocks and oxen ploughed the sea, but only once. Now all that has changed, leading to deep depression and discouragement among faithful Catholics.
Thes says he was reported, not arrested. I think your headline is incorrect.
The irreverent man can never understand the sacred.
The irreverent man by contrast, approaches being either in an attitude of arrogant superiority or of tactless, smug familiarity. In either case he is crippled; he is the man who comes so near a tree or building he can no longer see it. Instead of remaining at the proper spiritual distance, and maintaining a reverent silence so that being may speak its word, he obtrudes himself and thereby, in effect, silences being. In no domain is reverence more important than religion. As we have seen, it profoundly affects the relation of man to God. But beyond that it pervades the entire religion, especially the worship of God. There is an intimate link between reverence and sacredness: reverence permits us to experience the sacred, to rise above the profane; irreverence blinds us to the entire world of the sacred. Reverence, including awe-indeed, fear and trembling-is the specific response to the sacred. Dietrich von Hildebrand
Yes, O deleted one, there's no mention of an arrest by police, just a report to them. But, what the heck, Gloria TV doesn't pay its bills with the normally accepted standards of accuracy or journalistic probity.
