VATICAN CITY (AP) — Pope Francis is sick and skipped a planned Mass with Rome clergy across town on Thursday, officials said.
The Vatican said the 83-year-old pontiff had a “slight indisposition” and would proceed with the rest of his planned work on Thursday. But Francis “preferred to stay near Santa Marta,” the Vatican hotel where he lives.
There was no word from the Vatican about the nature of his illness, but the pope was seen coughing and blowing his nose during the Ash Wednesday Mass. It comes amid an outbreak of the coronavirus in Italy that has sickened more than 400 people, almost all of them in the north. Rome had three cases, but all three were cured.

Some demons can only be cast out through prayer and fasting.
They're JP1-ing him; he's becoming...inconvenient...and counterproductive to their cause, as eyes are opening. They want to get the next and worst antipope in before Benedict dies.
Wouldn't it be very politically correct if he comes down with the Chinese virus?
@JBQ,
I don’t know about it being “politically correct “ but it sure would be justice served after what he (and BXVI too) have done to The Church in China.
Don’t worry about Francis. He’ll be just fine. Only the good die young.
@C.J.: What I said was "code" for what you said. Remember that he only has one lung. Anything respiratory is very serious.
Gambling machines are called "one armed bandits". What does one call it if it has two arms but only one lung?
Damian will finish him off.
The Vatican has put in place precautionary strategies to minimize the risk of Corona virus, so there is a partial lock down. Perhaps the Pope's 'inconvenience' was caused by doctors giving him so precautionary treatment.
I hope he was validily conditionally ordained + consecrated by a pre-July 1968 Bishop before this ceremony.
