Pope Lashes Out Uncontrollably as Right-Wing Parties Arise Victorious

VATICAN CITY (AFP) - Pope Francis warned on Monday (May 27) against a rise of intolerance and racism as far-right nationalists and eurosceptic parties made historic gains in European elections.

"The signs of meanness we see around us heighten our fear of 'the other', the unknown, the marginalised, the foreigner," he said in a message for the World Day of Migrants and Refugees.

"It is not just about them, but about all of us, and about the present and future of the human family.

"Migrants, especially those who are most vulnerable, help us to read the 'signs of the times'," he said.

I haven't been paying close attention anymore. Is it even controversial that Francis is a raging heretic? What are we supposed to say about such a blasphemous bishop? Doesn't he hate Christianity with every bone in his body? It is like letting the patients run the mental hospital - with an apology to mental patients. -Dirk

Sorry to leave two comments in a row, but when Francis uses the term "human family", I am reminded about the joke that theists should reserve for atheistic evolutionists: you may have been descended from apes, but I am not.

I can't express how glad I am that the rightist parties won, not only in Italy where they captured 32+% of the vote, and therefore for all intent really govern Italy with their leader Salvini, but also other rightist parties across Europe.
These victories, especially in Italy, are a collective spit in the face to Pope Francis and his bishops and Cardinals, who no doubt tried to convince the people not to vote the correct way they did.
Francis speaks of "migrants" as if we are supposed to believe he means any/all in such category. When in reality he truly means MUSLIMS, MUSLIMS,MUSLIMS, MUSLIMS!!!

hIS FAVORITE RELIGION AND PEOPLE.

Somebody should tell Francis to resign the papacy and the Cahtolic priesthood and faith, immerse himself in the Koran, flee to an Islamic country, convert to Islam, and hide out in a mosque where he can become an imam, or a Grand Ayatollah, etc.
He'd make a far better one of those than he does a Pope. :)

Don't fob it off on to others Damian. How about you telling Pope Francis, in person, to resign. You would be one of the few people left in the Universe that he would listen to about that and a big career change as well.
Go for it!

Regardless of What the Pope says, here in the UK it has been a protest vote; a protest at the way in which our ELECTED politicians have tried to override the expressed will of the majority of UK voters (who BOTHERED to vote) in the recent expression of will

I notice that the linked article comes from The Straits Times of Singapore. When I flew into Singapore in 2007, the immigration card handed out on the plane told you one thing: that Singapore had the death penalty for drugs smugglers. Not very Pope Francis compliant. As a tiny densely-populated country, it is also very selective about who it lets in.

If anyone wants some deeper, Biblically inspired thinking on how to receive the stranger with hospitality, here is a long and thoughtful piece by Alastair Roberts. He is an Anglican theologian, but he is far closer to Catholic thinking than many people in the Vatican.

Pope (?) Francis is not on the side of Christ or His people. Rather he is a profoundly corrupt individual who advocates for the atheistic elite of the New World Order having neither love for God or Man. The sooner he is gone the better.

"The sooner he is gone the better."

Millions think like this. Five years ago already, I remember Pope Francis was ill with something in the Summer of 2014. He was sick every other week, and cancelled appearances/audiences. Even he said that he expected to die soon. Five years later, he's still here, and hasn't been sick since. Many people pray for him to die....which is really weird, because I always used to see and hear "Viva il Papa", and applause for the Pope when he appears.
I have never seen the Roman people applauding Francis, like they always did Benedict XVI, JPII, and a string of popes before that. I think it's because they really can't stand him. Plus he always has such a miserable face at Papal Masses and audiences....the epitome of evil.
I have friends in Rome who tell me that it is true, that the Roman and Italian people hate him. They hate his Cardinals too, and the Bishops he appoints.
I watched a clip of the Salvini rally in Milan last week. He and other right wingers gave a long speech for the crowds. Huge cheers and applause for their agenda. But when Salvini mentioned Pope Francis...there was a long chorus of boos throughout the crowd. Amazing.
Yes, the sooner he is gone, the better.
Though they'll try to maneuver another Francis type pope into office, I bet we are in for a huge surprise. A longer conclave than usuall....maybe 3-4 days. But in the end, a Pope very much in the mold of Benedict XVI and maybe even to the right of him a bit. Unfortunatly, not someone young (early 70's), but a man who might have 10 years to undo Francis.
Unless they go outside the College of Cardinals and choose a bishop in the mold of Benedict XVI or better, who is barely 60. That's possible to.
Regardless, Francis and his agenda, his people and his scandals are so hated by the majority of the Cardinals, and the Roman people, that don't look for another guy ready to pick up the Francis agenda and keep it moving. All the queers in the Vatican, and people like Mariadiaga, etc. will be suddenly be running for cover. Their days are numbered even now.

The Church needs a complete re-do of its governance. The college of Cardinals needs to go away entirely.. Popes should be elected by all of the Bishops. A method needs to be found to impeach a bad Pope. Beyond that I would eliminate the Vatican State and have the Church focus more or less exclusively on helping people attain eternal life. Right now the Vatican is a totally corrupt political institution at the service of the elites of the New World Order.

I’d settle for firing people who weren’t company men.

No need to go down the We Are Church route.

Where are the massive demonstrations denouncing the atheist in chief (Francis)? Our men are crushed and instead we have the valuable Anne Barnhardt squawking because there aren't enough Catholic men to demonstrate against Francis. -Dirk

Most Catholics couldn't care less about Francis. They think he's a good guy. Our priest at Mass says how he "loves" Pope Francis. Another priest admires the Communists he's making saints. Who's going to demonstrate against Francis when he winks at sexual sin?

In that case, true Christians must demonstrate in Rome, calling Frankie the swine and heresiarch that he is. Go to the Vatican City state with a big banner. When they are ejected from the Vatican, stay outside the walls of the Vatican. Demonstrate loudly. Think of chants. Don't harass tourists, but loudly demonstrate with clear banners, probably in English and Spanish.

Reminds me of Fr. Isaac Relyea criticizing Burke, Schneider et al: they cannot say like a female doctors before a cancer patient, "Holy Father, I have doubts..." Fr. Relyea says that we must warn: "YOU ARE GOING TO DIE!"

The strangest thing would be if Pope Francis dies before Benedict. And Beneduct gets reelected??

He wouldn't do it but if he ever did (which I highly doubt), he'd never get in the front door of a mosque let alone become an imam.

Constantine, I suspect that when B16 dies, PF will resign. In that manner, PF can choose "his" secessesor and keep the Dual Papacy going.

Hey, Elizabeth, go find some manners. He's Pope Francis not Frankie.

I have heard clerical gay princes call Benedict XVI, “Ratz” and Bishop Robber Baron’s mentor, Andrew Greeley used to refer to him disparagingly that way as well. Greeley wasn’t gay, but it was all rather gay. Did you call your other gay friends out at well when they disparaged Pope Benedict?
