ROME, August 25, 2018 (LifeSiteNews) — What you are about to read is an explosive testimony of the former apostolic nuncio to the United States, implicating Pope Francis and several senior prelates in covering up Archbishop Theodore McCarrick’s alleged sexual abuse of seminarians and priests.
In an extraordinary 11-page written statement (see official English text below), Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò, 77, claims that Pope Francis knew about strict canonical sanctions imposed on McCarrick by Pope Benedict XVI but chose to repeal them.
In his testimony, dated August 22, Archbishop Viganò, who served as apostolic nuncio in Washington D.C. from 2011-2016, states that in the late 2000s, Benedict had “imposed on Cardinal McCarrick sanctions similar to those now imposed on him by Pope Francis,” and that Viganò personally spoke with Francis about the gravity of McCarrick’s abuse soon after his election in 2013.

What cardinal asked Francis to resign? Is Vigano a cardinal?

ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteI'm stunned by this story. Also stunned that the prediction I made a week ago here, about a far greater scandal for Francis, was about to break.
ReplyDeleteI was only guessing. But I read a lot and know the signs. UNfortunatly, in my career as a male model where I have traveled the world, there are very, very many homosexuals (as models, as staff, as managers, agents, scouts, etc.). They are exactly like Francis and his crew. They lie, twist stories, cover for each other, form cliques, target people for revenge, and try to recruit only their own kind into positions of authority and privilege.....just like Francis and his Vatican. I'm somewhat above all that , and not a target of anything, because I am in demand, and bring in a lot of money from sponsors who want me for their magazine, catalog, commercial, etc. My agent is always swamped with requests which is good, and bad. Good because I'll be secure even when the jobs dry up. Bad because at 30, my time is running out. I could go on till I'm in my 40's or more, would rather do something else by then. But I've seen young male models who spurn the advances of the gayguys suffer real persecution, getting lousy field assignments or 1 day jobs and then wait weeks for another because they won't "cooperate". SAME WITH FRANCIS AND HIS VATICAN. THEY OPPERATE EXACTLY THE SAME. THEY ARE THE SAME KIND OF PEOPLE WITH THE SAME MENTALITY.
I'll make another prediction, which , considering the type person Francis is, is far-fetched. But here goes anyway:
I predict that Pope Francis will not resign on his own. I predict that it will appear that he has chosen to resign, but that a rising tide of good Cardinals and Archbishops both in the Vatican and elsewhere will now be emboldened by the actions of the courageous Archbishop Vigano will behind the scenes, force him out. Force him to quit. It may happen before Christmas.....it may be in the Spring.
But we will have a new Pope before another year.....100% the opposite from Francis theologically, liturgically, and in every way. We'll know he's different from the very first second.....by the papal name he has chosen ( and it won't be John Paul III), and by the red mozzetta and stole he is wearing for his first papal appearance on the loggia of Saint Peter's

Not to throw a damper on your predictions but don't forget that the St. Gallen group gave him about 4-5 years to "remake" the Church.
DeleteAlso, a few months ago some of the defenders of Pope Francis were talking about how Pope Francis should resign.
So he may resign but that doesn't guarantee that we will get a holy pope. That depends on the prayers and sacrifices of the clergy, religious and faithful.
The only way we will get a holy pope is by obeying Our Lady of Fatima.
I think the chances of Pope Francis resigning over this are frankly nill. Just look at his in plane press conference. The strategy will be to ignore and the media will move on. It’s true his papacy is undermined and damaged by this but he will regain the secular press’s limelight after this October’s synod with some grand pronouncement.
ReplyDeleteThere just no way he will resign
I wonder if Greg Burke is now spending a lot of his spare time scouring diocesan websites looking for job vacancies.
ReplyDeleteTrue, but the St.Gallen group are either dead, over 80, or disgraced( McCarrick), so I doubt that the Sacred College of Cardinals would make the same mistake a second time and choose to elect another radical, dissenting, liberal like Francis. They have seen the wreckage of the Church five years of Francis has done.
ReplyDeleteI think the "conservative" group is much stronger than most people claim, and this time around, it will be a different story....someone who is 100% different than Francis in every way.
This story from the great Archbishop Vigano, plus the disasterous low level turnout for Francis in Ireland I believe very strongly are markers to the unpopularity of Francis and the crisis he and his people have caused in the Church....and the Cardinals are not stupid enough to elect another one....we hope.
Yes, pray...especially pray to the Blessed Virgin, Our Lady of Fatima to help the Church, and the men elect a holy pope.
Like I said though, after the Vigano letter, and the low turnout in Ireland, I think Francis' days as Pope are running down.

Daneels has been disgraced since the 90s.
DeleteYes, we're not sure to get a holy Pope after Francis, but now it's very clear why Pope Benedict resigned......
ReplyDeleteThe first counselor to AB Vigano who is a msgr has stepped forward and confirmed all that the brave archbishop has written. Maybe, there will be some cardinals who will do likewise. You have to know that "the dictator pope" will retaliate.
ReplyDeleteDamian,
ReplyDeleteI appreciate your comments, but can you say more about how you know that Pope Francis will be forced out, and that we'll have a new pope who will be different, and that he'll wear a red mozetta and stole for his first papal appearance? Those are specific details.
Thanks.
I haven't commented in some time, but the story told by Vigano is both amazing and deeply troubling. In my view, Francis should resign immediately. And after I saw him refuse to answer either yes or no when asked about the story on the plane, I felt even more strongly Francis should resign. Either Francis knew about McCarrick and rehabilitated him or he didn't know about McCarrick.
ReplyDeleteRegrettably though, I think there's almost no chance Francis resigns over the Vigano claims. First, does Francis strike anyone as the type of person who might just decide to quit the papacy? Not me. Second, who's going to make Francis quit? Burke? Sarah? Francis has the episcopacy scared silly. No one has challenged him these past five years and I doubt anyone will now.
All that said, I think Francis remains as pope for quite some for the very reason he has refused to fire cardinal Wuerl. Ideology. That's what is paramount to Francis and, frankly, that's what is paramount to the worldwide press that fawns over him. In other words, Francis hasn't finished implementing his liberal agenda and he will need men like Wuerl to help him along the way. And after Francis had appointed a few more Cardinals, it won't matter when he quits. His successor will significantly worse.
That is, until such time as Interpol gets involved. Even then, it will be a close-run thing.
ReplyDeleteAll of you are so full of bullshit!
