The "people’s table" in the Sacred Heart Chapel of the Cathedral of Ferrara. Change of the direction of celebration as an expression of the change of direction.
(Ferrara) On February 15, 2017, Pope Francis retired Archbishop Luigi Negri of Ferrara, a change with some, sometimes amazing consequences.
Archbishop Negri, as a diocesan bishop, stood out from among his confreres, and not just in Italy. Nevertheless, he was immediately retired by Francis, although in good health, upon reaching the age limit. Negri's opponents wanted to chase him out of his office much earlier. Nevertheless, he also raises his voice as emeritus bishop: as co-editor of the Nuova Bussola Quotidiana, whose founding he supported, as a pastor, speaker and author. In his latest book, The Challenge, published in March, he writes that there is a "climate of confusion" and a "climate of retribution" in the Church under Pope Francis.

Next to the presbytery of his former episcopal church is the Sacred Heart Chapel. There has been no free-standing altar in it so far. Under Archbishop Negri, this chapel was to be the starting point for a liturgical renewal through the restoration of sacral understanding. Here, not only the Holy Mass was celebrated again in the traditional rite, but celebrated at the request of the retired archbishop in the New Rite versus Deum. Because of the parallel location to the presbytery and the chapel is also facing to the east, which is why the celebration direction on the high altar was actually ad orientem.
On the instructions of his successor, Archbishop Giancarlo Perego, a "people’s altar” has also been set up, says the traditional site Messa in Latino.
The provisional "people’s altar" in use since 1970 has now been largely replaced by fixed, consecrated altars. The "altar table" was replaced by a cube, usually black, dark gray or dark brown, and more recently by all sorts of other designs. In Ferrara, they first resorted to the "altar table" in order to obscure the high altar and to implement a main aspect of the liturgical reform of 1969: the turning of the direction of celebration towards the people. (So they could worship themselves)
One of the leading promoters of the liturgical reform - 55 years ago, in which Rome seemed to become a city on the Rhine and not on the Tiber, has been due to German influence for several years - the archbishop of Cologne, Josef Cardinal Frings, who explainsx the central rationale of Folk altar and the changed direction of celebration: "It corresponds to the democratic course of our days".
In Ferrara, too, this view has taken hold again.

It is the will of God.
It's not the will of God. The Will of God was obvious for 400+ years by the great flourishing of Grace, Faith and Catholic tradition from the 1560's at the Council of Trent, until 1965 and the end of Vatican II. Since the Council of Trent, hundreds of religious Orders where founded with various apostolates (granted, some are now gone over the centuries), but many hundreds since only 50 years since Vatican II are either merged or extinct(principally Orders of sisters and nuns). Hundreds of diosecean religious Orders, which never became large enough to be approved as Pontifical orders, are now gone too. Some had existed since the Middle Ages. Thanks to Vatican II, and the liturgical revolution and the Novus Ordo which brought us these "kitchen table" Protestant altars. Such a collapse in religious life, with some Orders of nuns going from 2000 members to 100 members in 50 years, and Orders of missionary priests going from 5,500 to 1,000, seminaries from 580 students to 46 students is not the will of God! Mass attendance in Europe before Vatican II of roughly 65-70% combined (sometimes 95% in individual countries), collapsing to 20% combined (some countries in Europe 3-5% attending Mass) is not the will of God. A Pope who brought a great renewal and flourishing of the Church during his reign (Pius XII), was the will of God, whereas a Pope who has caused massive defections and declines in vocations and Mass attendance in barely 5 years, and plunging Mass attendance (around 19% total for USA....down from 25% under Benedict VI and JPII.....80% under Pius XII)...is not the will of God.
The Will of God does not creat disasters like this, or heresy, blasphemy, or massive defections from the Faith. The Will of God brings sanctifying Grace, and a flourishing of the Faith.
The Will of someone else whose name begins with S , is more reflective of what has happened in the Church since Vatican II, and especially over the last 5 years.

The Novus Ordo Missae, a made-up, semi-fixed up hodge-podge created for a time and place now gone, will in time vanish, as what +Lefebvre 'New Religion' has shown itself incapable of sustaining itself with minimal vocations, even when half the functions of those aging queers in polyester nighties are exercised by belligerent old women with no sense of the sacred. Now some of those Modernists aspire to a lay run Church, but probably not most. Catholics who love the true Mass will just have continue to rebuild from the 'remnant left, selected out of grace.' Most churches will have become conventicles of heretics (more so, ie actual not pretend NOM protestants), mosques, gyms or be demolished. Those old sodomites are, and will, be burning in Hell for their war on the Faith.
The new Archbishop of Ferrara has been booed by the faithful in the Cathedral because he only ever preaches about immigrant rights and so on, never about prayer or the Real Presence, or Our Lady or anything like that.

GREAT NEWS!! The faithful are starting to react against this kind of B.S. I hope this guy gets more of the same, and his boss as well(Pope Francis, who talks about nothing but Muslim refugees, immigrant rights, etc. I have never heard him preach traditional Catholic teaching or traditions..)
By the way, the latest Francis whine to countries for them to taken in as many "refugees" as they can has been met with silence by most, and boos by the average faithful....especially in Italy. He really seems to intent to get the Italian people hate him more. HAHAHAHAHA
It's working!

PF is a world socialist with a Marxist evolutionary agenda. Traditional bishops are being labeled and replaced as quickly as possible as obstructionists to the "Amoris Laetitia" agenda of "adultery, fornication, and sodomy". He who would deny this is nothing more than a misinformation specialist of the same quality as Joseph Goebbels and Joseph Stalin. ----It is all about a one world religion and a one world socialist government as warned of by Malachi Martin in his writings before his death in 1999. He read the Third Secret and warned in "The Jesuits" of a future Jesuit pontiff who would fulfill the New World Order of a one world socialist government.
Exactly where is that prophecy in The Jesuits? I have the book.
Ferrara like Ryan Grant interprets the Catechisms of Trent and St.Pius X as a rupture with the past exclusivist ecclesiology of the Catholic Church, EENS( Feeneyite) and St. Robert Bellarmine.

@Anonymous: re: Malachi Martin and his book "The Jesuits"----There are a number of websites which offer the book and give a large number of reviews. The major theme is that Martin warned of the takeover of the Church by the Jesuits and their espousal of "Liberation Theology". He warned of the evolutionary beliefs of the Jesuits through Teilhard de Chardin, SJ. He finally warned of attempts to get their man on the throne of Peter.---He died in 1999 and Francis was elected in 2013. His prophecy was one of innuendo and the natural progression of evolution to a preordained goal. Father Martin talked of the New World Order in every one of his books. The New World Order is now seen as a one world socialist government.
The fact that policies change under every other pope, it is necessary to stay out of regular canonical status. I wonder how much longer the St.Peter's Society will last???? How much longer before some seminarians sowed in by Francis will spread some gossip and create a pretext for "visitations" and interventions?
It'll happen the same way by which the Immaculate Friars were dealt. One by one the JPII New Evangelization Movements and Benedict XVI TLM foundations will drift off into oblivion either assisted or not.
@Jim Porteous: You have it about right. The targets are the influence of JPII and B16.
The next step is to figure out exactly why these Movements and/or communities are being subjected to such close scrutiny and even suppression.
There really aren’t any substantial problems cited, while gay cabarets like Sant’Anselmo continue on without the slightest concern from the authorities.
You again indicate fist hand experience of 'seminary coming out parties' and now 'gay cabarets like Sant'Anselmo.' Tell the reader more, Tancred.
Actually, I witnessed a Benedictine High School full of homosexual vampires like yourself first hand.
So you're now tracking fast away from your Sant'Anselmo days to the Benedictine High School experiences. When's the show and tell book appearing?
Sant’Anselmo is the international Benedictine University to which a few of the degenerates from my alma mater went to work on their tesinas while things cooled down stateside. It’s got all the yoga, massage therapy and universalism a modern Benedictine could want.
Sounds like Econe or, closer to home, Lincoln Nebraska.
I doubt you’ve been there.
