The Cologne Cardinal Rainer Maria Woelki has defended the Holy Eucharist at the Corpus Christi Festival with dramatic words - In Essen Bishop Overbeck wanted to "sell" the giving of the Eucharist to Protestants with a psychological trick
Cologne (kath.net) The Cologne Cardinal Rainer Maria Woelki defended the Holy Eucharist with dramatic words on Thursday following the pontifical ministry on Corpus Christi, and also addressed the debate on Protestant spouses receiving Communion. Woelki said, "This is about life and death, it's about death and resurrection, it's about eternal life, it's about Christ, it's about His Church and it's all about what's in it. Therefore, we must fight for it and seek the right way, not some way, but the way of the Lord which He shows us, and He alone is the way, the truth, and the life." The Cologne Cardinal again rejected allegations that he had sent the letter to Rome behind the back of Cardinal Marx: "I say with the Holy Scriptures: I have appeared openly and freely and have written this and meant what was written and I would say it once again: we in Germany do not live on an island of the blessed, we are not a national church.” At the end of his speech, Woelki received great applause from the faithful in Cologne Cathedral.
In Essen, however, the local bishop Franz-Josef Overbeck had subtly pleaded for the release of the Eucharist to Protestants. Thus, the bishop claimed without proof, that Pope John Paul II had suggested a limited opening of Communion. According to Overbeck, there is currently no general admission of Protestant Christians to Communion. But then the bishop of Essen tried to verbally sell the release with a psychological trick. So he said that the common communion is possible, if in a marriage "salvation is at stake". But he wants a "theologically responsible solution.” Interesting in the context of the German Eucharist dispute is the language of its own press office, which spoke of "inferior bishops" in connection with the 7 bishops who turned to Rome.

Woelki is pretty darn liberal himself. You have to wonder if he is just throwing out smoke.
I think it has to do with the See. When he was in Berlin, we thought he was more of a Neocon, but turned out to be every bit as bad as Marx. I think he feels or has been told what’s expected of him as Meisner’s replacement.
When in Rome do as the Romans do. His philosophy stays intact while he puts on a jacket to cover his spots.
He is probably genuine in this regard.
Speaking of the Holy Eucharist, today is Corpus Christi. Try to catch the show of the Corpus Christi that Pope Francis put on in Ostia (not Rome). I checked it out. UNfortunatly, thousands turned out, probably just to see "the Pope".
But all he did was celebrate Mass. He didn't walk the procession. He didn't even participate in it. When it cme time to give the Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament, Francis looked very weak. He could barely make it up the stairs and nearly collapsed twice.
As usuall, he did not kneel before the Blessed Sacrament. He showed no respect. He just stared at it with an evil or angry face.
A close up showed his face really sunken compared to the rather full face I remember him having.
When he raised the monstrance to Bless the people, some in the crowd applauded...either because it was the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament, or because Francis managed to lift the monstrance to bless the people without collapsing. He looks bad. Maybe he'll be gone soon.

Kopronymos is drowning in his own eponymous bats bile effluent.
As you wish your life away actively willing the death of Pope Francis, you ought to consider that you might be next you cretin.
Look, asshole:
I didn't wish him dead, I said he looks bad,,,which he does. People who obviously are in a lot of physical trouble like that don't last too long.

Hopefully he can muster his remaining energy to repent of attacking the Christian Faith, and the vile treachery of encouraging the Moslem migrant invasion. Anyhow, this priest of the Cult of Man, the New Religion only kneels before man.
Don't worry about the "cretin lover". I've got your back.
I’m not ashamed to say that the world would be a better place without him.

What is with that "Clement H" fellow?....he's like a rabid dog with bad diarrhea. Every post, more diarrhea.
And that makes four bleats from the Cloaca brains. Well done, outstanding cutting edge stuff from the brightest and best of the 13th Century.
And Yeehaahh to Janice T!
see?.....more diarrhea. The guy needs some psychological imodium.
After you, Yeehaaw.
I don't understand....what is this "Yeehaaw" of which you speak?.....Fey.
Psychological Imodium :) I like that response. I think he needs to be in a rest home for a few months. No normal person writes like him. Then again, radical Catholic liberals don't write like thinking, normal people either, ergo, (Haha....remnant from my logic classes in college), Clement H most likely is a radical liberal Catholic
