Bolzen or Bolsano is a city in South Tyrol and is deeply Catholic, but the gears of political correctness are moving.
(David Berger) According to reports by Italian media, a traditional Christmas tree has been removed from the public part of the Town Hall of the North Italian city of Bolzano prior to a visit by a Muslim delegation to the city. The reason: "The Christmas tree could hurt the feelings of Muslims or insult them."
The incident was made known by the president of the local sports club: He had been allowed to decorate the tree this year and in addition to sporting symbols also used Christian Christmas symbols - in the South Tyrol this is particularly associated with Catholicism as a matter of course.
Just a few days after the Christmas tree was set up, the president of the Sports Veterans' association received a call from the town hall office.
He was instructed to remove the Christmas tree and its decorations because the town hall would soon be visited by a Muslim delegation and "violate their religious feelings or offend them".
Allesandro Urzi, conservative politician in South Tyrol speaks in the face of the incident of a "Barbarization of the general culture" in Italy:
"Respect for any
religious commitment must not be confused with the removal of the traditional symbols on which our society rests. Both believers and unbelievers find in these traditional symbols important elements that make up our identity. "

Either march to your commandants office on the double, standing outside with signs and hymns, demanding the tree be returned immediately, or resign yourself to the invasion of Islam and get ready to pay jizrah, or whatever that tax is that second class citizens pay in order to have the privilege of living under Sharia. Now is the time, speak NOW, demand your rights NOW, or the only way you will get your rights back is by blood.
ReplyDeleteIf this story is correct, then the officials involved are uniformed about Muslim attitudes towards Jesus whom they love and respect as the prophet Issa. Moslems believe in the Virgin birth and regard 'Issa' as the Messiah.
DeleteThe "final imam" is the messiah. The Christ is just one in a long line of prophets who prepared the way for Mohammed. The "12th imam" is the Mahdi.
DeleteThe claim that the 'final imam' is the messiah is not made by mainstream Sunna or Shia but a exotic fringe group akin to the Salafists and some commentators on Fox News.
DeleteIn the Koranic tradition, Issa (Jesus) is accepted by the Messiah
@Aymad: Islam does not believe in the divinity of the Christ. He is seen as a prophet preparing the way for Mohammed who is the final prophet. When the Mahdi arrives, Christ will come back as a world leader. ---- In your comment, Aymad (Ahmad is the messenger who comes after Jesus), there is a Freudian slip. You say that Issa (Jesus) is accepted "by" the Messiah. Actually, that is the truth.--- An attempt is being made by liberal factions in every religion to unite the three great traditions of Christianity, Judaism, and Islam into a new one world religion. That is exactly your ruse for infiltrating this website.
Delete@Aymad: Jesus is not viewed as divine by Islam.
DeleteThe creation of a new one world religion is well on its way. What will be the holy day and what day of the year will it be? It would appear that the days of Christmas are numbered.

ReplyDeleteAnd what about this Nativity scene placed inside the Our Lady of Fatima's basilica? Does it not offend Christians?

The original Nativity scene sure offended a number of people and continues to do so.
ReplyDeleteThis nativity scene is controversial to be sure. However, it is modern art that appeals to some. In the style of El Greco, the figures are elongated to bring your view up toward God. Nevertheless, the nativity scene in the Vatican is horrific and outrageous. The crib itself is traditional but there is a "gay guy" superimposed in the center just as in El Greco and in the very form of the child in the crib. It is designed to superimpose a gay figure in the place of the Christ child. Just what is going on in the mainstream Vatican?

Dear Sir,
ReplyDeletethank you very much for your mailing.
The Municipality of Bolzano-Bozen is spending over 200.000 Euro every year for Christmas decoration, Christmas trees and Nativities all over the City: Christmas is a very important religious tradition, especially in the Alps, our Christmas Market is the most important in Italy and one of the most important in Europe.
So, just the idea, that the Municipality would remove, or order to remove, a Christmas tree from a public room, because of any excess of respect for different cultures or religions, sounds almost ridiculous, and it is a good example of "fake news" (look at https://www.wired.it/att ualita/media/2017/12/19/bufale -natale-2017/) .
What happened in the district of Don Bosco, is simple: one association organized a sport-gala the 14.th December evening in one public room. Next day, the emploeey of the front office noticed, that the association forgot to remove some Christmas decoration, so she called the association, asking to remove them, like regulation. In fact, on the Friday 15.th December, two other associations were going to use the room. The employee asked only to respect the rules, as she always has to do, without speaking or meaning anything about possible problems with Muslims...
It is not clear, who from the press wanted to exploit the occurred, and why. In Bolzano, anyway, nobody is speaking about it any more, because celebrations of the Nativity are at moment highlights, and the unique Christmas atmosphere you can breathe in our town is the clear answer to every polemic.
Wishing you a Merry Christmas,
Best regards

The tree was removed from the public square according to the press report, and the complaint was made in the Italian media by the sports team owner who was ordered by the authorities to remove the tree, and the reason. It's, therefore, pretty clear why the press is reporting on it.
