Francis Names New Undersecretary of the CDF

(Rome) Pope Francis appointed a new Undersecretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the FaithAfter the upheavals at the head of the Congregation at the beginning of the summer, which reinforced the renovation the end of the summer.
As announced yesterday in the Daily Bulletin of the Vatican Press Office, Francis appointed the Italian priest Matteo Visioli as secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine for the Faith.
Visioli, born in Parma on July 20, 1966, was ordained a priest for his homeland. After studying theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University, he earned a degree in theology in 1994 and canon law in 1996. In 1999, he completed his specialization in church law with a doctorate.
From 1999 to 2008, he was a diocesan Vicar for Relations Between Church and World, and from 2001 to 2008 he was also a member of the Committee for the Church Property of the Italian Bishops' ConferenceAs a priest he worked in Collecchio and San Martino Sinzano.
Most recently, he was president of the non-profit organization Caritas Children, Episcopal Vicar for Pastoral Care, director and lecturer of the Interdiocesan Higher Institute of Religious Studies of San Hilario de Poitiers and lecturer for Church Law at the Gregoriana and at the Generalities Marcianum of Venice. He is the author of numerous scientific publications in the field of church law.
Don Visioli assumes the position of Monsignor Giacomo Morandi, who Pope Francis had appointed in October 2015  to be the Undersecretary of the Congregation for the Faith. The dismissal of Cardinal Gerhard Müller as Prefect of the Congregation of Doctrine on this last 30th of June resulted in a personal shuffle with several promotions. The then secretary of the Congregation, Jesuit Luis Ladaria Ferrer, was appointed Prefect by Francis, and Msgr. Morandi has been appointed Secretary. At the same time Francis raised him to be the titular archbishop of Caere.
There has been no change for the traditional Dominican, Father of the Archbishop, Father Augustine Di Noia. Pope Benedict XVI had appointed him deputy of the Pontifical Commission, Ecclesia Dei , in June 2012, after the failed talks with the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X. From there, Pope Francis withdrew him a few months after his election, and appointed him to be the associate secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith. From 2002 - 2009 Father Di Noia had already been the undersecretary of this congregation.

This is good news I believe however the last paragraph needs a little more polishing as it reads very awkwardly.

Is this new undersecretary scandal free?

Is he a Catholic,( i.e a faithful Catholic, etc.) or another one of Francis' boys?

I'm with Damian, is the guy a "leper"? It looks from the picture that he is.

No orthodox priest dresses like that.

yeah....no doubt a red flag. There are a few in the text also:
"born in Parma on July 20, 1966"...pure Euro VatII formation by a bunch of queens who'd risen to high places by that time.

"diocesan Vicar for Relations Between Church and World, and from 2001 to 2008"....just so clearly speaks for itself.

aaaand, bergoglio appointed him. I thinks it's pretty clear what kind of a (she)wolf he most probably is.

Another Francis precious snowflake?

Heads up everyone! Aside from this article, which for the Church is probably bad enough, the BoR(as someone calls him), or the SOB (as I ...and many others after today will call him), Pope Francis, just abolished the John Paul II Institute for Marriage and the Family, and replaced it with an institute, still named for John Paul II, which will instead study and foster the teachings and implementation of Francis' disasterous "Amoris" encyclical. That's it's stated aim.
It's an insult to the memory of John Paul II, who established the Instituteto promote traditional Catholic teaching of the Marriage issue and the family, not destroy it like Francis is. I am sure the Polish bishops will be enraged...and should be. So should all good Catholics.
Also, his decision comes 1 year after the4 Cardinals issues their Dubia, which Francis never answered.
One person commented that Francis did answer the Cardinals today, by abolishing the instate meant to foster traditional Catholic teaching on marriage and the family, and instead founding an institute designed to teach and promote the heresy of Francis.
I hope there is a storm of anger and outrage against Francis for this.
I think traditional and faithful Catholics actually should meet in emergency session, put idfferences aside, join with the SSPX and urge them to establish a new, temporary "Vatican" with a temporary pope, electing one of their own bishops or priests to he a "substitute" Pope now that there is a heretic and his crew in the Vatican.... a temporary solution of course.

Susan, Susan, Susan, thank you, thank you, thank you. It will be women who save the Church. Once again while the men ran, it was women who stood at the foot of the cross.

I can't think of anyone better qualified than you, Damian, to lead the Remnant Unity Party and head up a 'temporary "Vatican" with a temporary pope....etc.
You enjoy the necessary gifts, the charismatic character, the extraordinary depth of knowledge and international credibility to make this succeed. And you'd be the apple of God's eye for it.
Immer voran!

Thanks for the vote of confidence...I think. Not sure if your being serious, or facetious .
But it's not for me either way. Just an idea. I don't want to be a sedevacantist, or even entertain such ideas that I suggested...it's a shame that I had to come up with the idea. I just think that for the Church to sink this far, so fast (4 1/2 years since Francis), then the guy ain't of God or the Holy Sprit (if you get my meaning)...but from someone else. That's why I thought of my idea.
The SSPX has a huge network...nearly 700 priests, 225 sems, and at least 25 religious Orders affiliated to them....even some based in the Phillipines, Africa, and India.
Itwould be a schism...sure. But I think someone should talk about the issue with the SSPX joined with other groups of traditionalists, and electa"temporary Pope" until the crisis in the wider Church and the Vatican is gone....which might not be until you and I are long gone. Hopefully not that long, but the damage he's done will take years to clean up.
Thanks for the compliments about my "necessary gifts", although I don't know if I really have any :)
I've spoke on these issues of the Church to groups as big as 2,500 and got a standing ovation in L.A. when I gave my talk, then thanked everyone for having me in French, Spanish, Italian ,Greek and Hindi. Lots of people came for the speech, but some came to see me, because they know me from modeling...which is cool I guess. Not sure about that though. I wanted to fade away from that industry because the money's great, but the lifestyle is very corrupting in a hundred different ways. But, the agents and clients still like me....so I'm on the road all Summer until school year opens...I am proud being a HS teacher. I'm 29, and in 10-15 years, won't be in so much demand as a model....but I can teach till I'm 75 (God willing ;) If they got the skills, anyone can be a model....no big deal really. I was blessed. But not everyone can be a teacher. If I can help the kids actually like school, instead of struggle and hate it, that's way cooler than having a photo on Men's Fitness, LL Bean,Land's End, Macy's etc.etc.

Thanks for the note. Too bad we have to even think about stuff like that...isn't it. And I know I'm not the only one who thinks we needa change. Let's prayfor the Church....after what Francis did today, he's shown an evil hand that many didn't think he had. God'll judge him, not us....but let's pray for a change before more damageis done!
Pax et Bonum.

Darling, you forgot St. John the Apostle, the repented and contrite thief who was hanging on a cross.

Here's the problem with a schism. Each diocese in the United States is an independent corporation within the U.S. legal structure. That means that before the law, each diocese owns all of the property under its jurisdiction. If groups break off to challenge the diocese, then they are isolated under the law with no property and without a doubt no platform. A good example would be St. Francis Xavier Cabrini Parish in Massachusetts near Boston. A conservative group occupied the church for 10 years until the law through them out.-----Here in St. Louis, the local traditional church is supposedly independent of the archdiocese and under the auspices of the Vatican. They were brought here by then Archbishop Raymond Burke. I have donated "big bucks" to the corporation which runs the church, "Friends of St. Francis".---Nevertheless in August of 2008, Burke war removed by the Vatican as archbishop and I have definite proof with emails from the chancery. This was just before the election of then Senator Obama. Shortly thereafter, there was a big "dust up" at the church over a sermon by a Croatian priest who characterized the senator as a modern day King Herod for his killing of the innocent. All 'ell broke loose. The administrator of the archdiocese and auxiliary bishop immediately went for a one week visitation of the church. He then removed the German rector and sent him back home to Europe. The priest was transferred to Kansas City.---The point is that property is owned by each diocese and even the so called independent entities who are independently subservient to the Vatican are obligated to do the bidding of the pope.---If the pontiff is indeed an apostate, then there is only one authority who has more clout. That would be God Himself and it is about time that he weighs into the controversy. The Third Secret promises that he will. However, many of the faithful are getting tired of waiting.

I'm 100% sure Damiam would do a better job than the freemasonic clown from Buenos Aires.

They're just building JBQ, they've got the buildings, we've got the faith. The SSPX were never stopped by a lack of buildings. One day the history of the Church will look back on the glorious Holiday Inn masses which kept the true religion going.

"No orthodox priest dresses like that."

My first thought as well. Modernists don't even look like priests, more like boring bureaucrats.

Francis likes priests who look and smell like the"sheep", remember. Not the dignified, cultured priests the Vatican knew up until....well, I giveit the benefit of the doubt...until 2013.
I have several books which shows how the staff of monsignori, priests, friars, bishops and cardinals dressed everyday before Vatican II.
The priests were in cassock or soutane with a black cape, monsignors wore cassocks with purple or majenta buttons and piping and cape, bishops a rich purple, and Cardinals, in cassock with red sash and cape. Friars of course wore their habits always. And there were hundreds of nuns wearing habits of every description.
Some clerics wore a vesture which I don't know the name of.....a purple piece which looked something like a long vest with slits for the arms rather than sleeves, and it went around the back as well. Beautifful purple color. I think monsignors wore it as their every day dress.
I be impressed and proud to see a Vatican like that, not like it is now, with priests and even Cardinals walking around like slobs like this guy.
