Cardinal Schönborn says Amoris Laetitia is Perfectly Orthodox

"I answered him, 'Holy Father, Amoris Laetitia it is perfectly orthodox.'"

Cardinal Christoph Schönborn apparently answered the question put to him Pope Francis, whether the controversial post-synodal letter Amoris laetitia is orthodox, that is to say, right believing. On April 8, 2016, Amoris laetitia was presented by Cardinal Schönborn in Rome to the public. Immediately afterwards, Francis thanked the Archbishop of Vienna for the idea that Cardinal Schönborn had said that the church would open the door to Communion reception for the remarried divorced. On this occasion Francis asked him whether Amoris laetitia was in agreement with the doctrine of the Catholic Church. Schönborn for example, presented his speech at the preparatory meeting of the World Meeting Families in Limerick on the 13th of July, at the preparatory meeting for the World Meeting of Families in 2018. On April 16, Pope Francis explained on the return flight from Lesbos that  Schönborn's presentation is the authentic reading of Amoris laetitia.

The good Cardinal also said ¨Pope Pius V was an anti-semite¨ just a few weeks ago. It is a sad day when a Prince of the Church has to grovel to those in power in order to be considered Papabile in the next Conclave.

Orthodox? Apart from its inexcusable ambiguity on marriage, Amoris Laetitia claims that the church opposes the death penalty, which is patently false (cf. the Catechism). How is this orthodox?
