[Rorate] The charges against Father Stefano Manelli, founder of the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate have been dropped. After about a year of investigations, the Deputy State Prosecutor at the Court of Avellino, Doctor A. Del Bene, has asked for the closing of the proceedings against the religious, whose Order is still under commissioning without a valid reason having ever been given by the Congregation for Religious.
Father Stefano Manelli had recently been the subject of a particularly virulent press campaign – which seems in reality to have been promoted and inspired by someone within his own religious order – with wild allegations, scandalmongering statements of ex-sisters, and even the suspicion of murder. The saga of the Franciscans of the Immaculate has left nothing untouched, and there have been those in the mass media who have followed the flood of biased allegations with perhaps too much enthusiasm and without much critical evaluation.
Now that the legal authorities – with the motion to dismiss the case – bring justice to this campaign, which could be considered defamatory, it emerges that the founder of the Institute of the Franciscan Friars of the Immaculate was unjustly accused of having harmed the physical and moral integrity of the Sisters at the convent of Frigento, carrying out acts of sexual violence and abuse against them.

Read "The Trial" by Franz Kafka. There are chilling similarities to the persecution of Father Manelli.
ReplyDeleteFr. Manelli is a spiritual son of St. Padre Pio. Padre Pio was forbidden to hear Confessions or deal with laity, especially lay women, for 10 years (+/-). Eventually the Holy Father lifted the ban.
DeleteMay Fr. Manelli be vindicated as was St. Padre Pio.
Amen to that! I have met Fr. Manelli myself. He has a beautiful peaceful smile and I was thrilled to have his blessing as he took time out of his busy schedule to give it. And he humbly kissed the hands of the priest that was with me. And a great sense of peace was present. I understand that Fr. Manelli has maintained his peace in spite of the calumnies against him and the persecution of his Order. That Order and its holy charism will flourish again one day when things change from the modernist agenda of the present Vatican.
DeleteWhat does this mean? Will Fr. Manelli be freed from this so called house arrest? Those who made the false accusations should recant or be excommunicated. Canonical procedures should be brought against Bergoglio.
ReplyDeleteDid this come with public apologies and some kissing of the innocent victim's backside? If not, it ain't good enough.
ReplyDeleteFollow the money trail.
ReplyDeleteBergoglio should be tried in a Church court for heresy. THank God he is 80. He increasingly doesn't look well. How much longer with this non-Catholic Pope? Now heretic Cardinal Kasper claims that Bergoglio will allow communion with/by Protestants. Ultimate heresy. If he does so, he should be thrown out of the Church.
ReplyDeleteWhat Bergoglio and the radicals have done to faithful Catholics and religious Orders such as Fr. Manelli and his Franciscans will be likewise done to the radicals by a true Pope when Bergoglio either quits or dies.
I read that he is "fed up" with the opposition of true Catholics and is considering quitting after 80. I hope so.

I must say this is the first I have heard of these particular false charges have been made against Father Manelli and now dropped presumably for lack of evidence. It is surely now incumbent upon the Vatican to explain quite why a commissioner was appointed. Was it in respect of these particular false charges or was it something else? So long as the Vatican fails to explain then there will hang over the FFI a cloud of calumny. It is surely sinful for such a situation to continue. The Vatican must speak but I will not hold my breathe.
ReplyDeleteIt was at all times obvious that Father Manelli was innocent. Saints often go through this kind of tribulation, and it is no wonder that a malicious serpent like Pope Francis would unleash his wrath against these Franciscans, because they are devoted to the Immaculate and had been waging serious spiritual combat. I think that God has special plans for their Order, and that it is for this that Heaven has been trying them in the flames of persecution.
ReplyDeleteLet the Holy Father take heed; no one, not even the Pope, will ever succeed in destroying the Church Catholic. God will vindicate the just and the poor in spirit.
Right, follow the money trail......the FI are no more a Religious Order, the Big Brothers will be happy now........
ReplyDeleteThe original allegation against Fr Manelli and the ostensible reason for the suppression of the FFI was one of fraudulently enriching his relatives by transferring ownership of the order's material goods to a trust made up of lay people which included Fr Manelli's relative's. This original bogus reason for the suppression of the order turned our to be the simple application of an original rule of the Franciscans to maintain perfect poverty in the order. The commissioner had forgotten about because modern Franciscans have abandoned this perfect form of poverty and Franciscan rule years ago and so the commissioner ended up with egg on his faces.
ReplyDeleteAs far as I know (and I stand to be corrected), these allegations of rap, murder etc surfaced only after the original trumped up charge fell over. Now that this one has fallen over too, I think we need to pray there is not a third.
God Bless Fr Manelli, this great man of the Church!
This is about the Freemasons in Italy.
ReplyDeleteGod bless this holy wonderful priest and the FFI. Much of my own conversion was inspired by reading some of the amazing true Catholic literature of Manelli and the FFI, especially in regards to the Blessed Virgin and St, Maximilian Kolbe. The witness and testimony of these true Catholics condemns the judeo-masonic-communist anti church of Bergoglio and his crew. May God deliver us from the Bergoglian cativity, and restore his Church in Trith and Peace.
ReplyDeletePersonally I am convinced the Franciscans need to find a bishop with traditional holy orders and keep the Roman Catholic faith alive in these mysterious times.
ReplyDeleteThere are traditional orders of priests who would take them in and not persecute them for being Roman Catholic.
An added bright spot to my scenario is their priests (FFI) would have valid holy orders without any lingering doubt.
Father Manelli was unjustly persecuted, for one reason only; it was because he loved the Gregorian Mass and would not bend to the modernists novelties. May God abundantly bless this living saint.
ReplyDeleteAM!
ReplyDeleteAmen. The triumph is here.
AM!
Isn't this just the ending of a civil investigation? The vindictive canonical process is not likely to be reversed soon. Thriving Traditional orders which show the failure of Conciliarism will always be a target.
ReplyDeleteThis will not be posted but here goes.
ReplyDeleteThis was never about the “TLM”
The FI was not a traditional Latin mass order at its founding! (It became monetarily convenient to be.)
The EVIL Pope Benedict ordered the investigation of the order (not Francis the Communist Bomb Thrower)
There were major irregularities in regards to the orders seminary and the governance of the order and its monies. In regards to the transfer of assets that did not take place until after the Vatican intervened. In the US the property has always been owned by independent corporations to help maintain the friars poverty.
There is a very Good TLM Priest that has been persecuted by Manelli and those loyal to him (minions) for 16 years because he promotes the TLM. Speaks and preaches the Truth without Hesitation.
For those TROLLS out there that have never been to a TLM, but act like they live and breathe tradition, go to one.
I am not troll even though I am told I look like one.
