Immemorial Rite: Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest Entrusted With Parish Work in Naples

Church of the Confraternity of Mary, Help of Christians, in Naples
(Rome) Naples archbishop, Cardinal Crescenzio Sepe, has commissioned the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest (ICRSS) the task of celebrating the Immemorial Mass of All Ages in the diocese and to take over the pastoral care of the faithful of the old rite.
The celebration of Holy Mass will take place Sunday and Feasts at at  6 o'clock in the Church ofthe  Arciconfraternita Santa Maria del Soccorso, the Archconfraternity of Mary Help of Christians, in the district of Arenella. The church is not to be confused with the parish church, which is a few meters away.
The Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest has sent two canons, Father Louis Valadier and the new priest, Father Florian Braun to Naples to meet with the Archbishop's request. Today, on the feast of Saint Januarius, the patron of Naples, the two priests took up their pastoral work.
With the appointment of the priests also ends the previous summer break in the celebration in the traditional rite, which was set for two months. It's a victory, and the faithful are very relieved as the Coetus Fidelium of Naples has announced.
The new Canon was ordained in 2012 for the Institute of Christ the King. Most recently he was scholastic and choirmaster at order's own seminary in Gricigliano in Tuscany. Canon Florian Braun is a very new priest, who was ordained last July along with another ten candidates for the Institute of Christ the King and Higher Priest.
The Church of the Confraternity was, after the publication of the Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum to become the home of the faithful of the Roman Rite. The church is located in its pristine state. In contrast, the high altar dating from 1607 was demolished in the nearby parish church during the post-conciliar liturgical reform.
In the city there are three more Mass locations in the traditional rite according to the Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificum. Nowhere, unfortunately is the traditional rite allowed at a reasonable time on Sunday morning.

So, Detroit, Naples and Mauritius get the Institute this fall...

A pretty good haul for them. Msgr Wach's vision is finally starting to pay off.

Indeed. Let's hope this pace continues for them. God knows there are countless dioceses in desperate need of them.

Despite "Pope" Francis and his cohorts, traditional Catholicism and traditional Orders are flourishing, and when he is gone, they will even more flourish.
A friend of mine just came back from the Summer in Europe. In addition to the standard sight-seeing/back-packing, he visited three monasteries/religious houses affiliated to the SSPX which are stable, growing, and a source of Catholic pride and devotion to our Catholic traditions.
One is a relatively new (1998) foundation(France) which is an attempt at re-capturing the Order of Grammont (Grammontine monks)....an Order which went extinct at the end of the French Revolution, but which was founded in the 11th century and flourished, mostly in France but also elsewhere in Europe and in England before the Reformation. They have their own rule, which is largely based on Benedictine principles, and are known locally as the "grey Benedictines" because of their habit. There are 18 professed monks, 2 novices and 4 new postulants. Of the 18 professed, 10 are lay-brothers(conversi), the others are choir monks(priests or seminarians). The Order operates in a former Norbertine abbey which has room for a community of 75.
The second house is a cloister of nuns, an attempt (also in France), to re-introduce traditional religious life in the Redemptoristine tradition in France. There are a few Redemptoristine houses in France, but all have discarded both the traditional habit and disiplines and are very aged communities. My friend was told by one of the nuns (there are 9 professed sisters, 2 novices and 2 postulants in the house), that thru all Europe, only 2-3 houses of the Redemptoristine nuns are flourishing (out of maybe 25 in Europe), and these have either changed very little since Vatican II, or have reverted back to tradition....although none wear the complete traditional habit as does this 1 house affiliated to the SSPX.
Lastly (in Germany of all places), he visited a community of traditional friars of the Franciscan Conventual tradition (OFM. Conv.) This is the newest of all the houses he visited (2006), but there are already 11 priests, 5 brothers, and 8 novices or postulants. A few Franciscan priests already in Germany and Switzerland who are sympathetic to tradition have left their liberal OFM. Conv. houses and joined this one in Germany(Bavaria).
So like the ICKSP (priests and also sisters), these groups are growing....and are not bound by the ridiculous new ruls of "Pope" Francis that anyone who wants to start a new Order has to appeal directly to the Vatican, rather than local Bishops as has always been done for centuries. It is an attempt to keep traditional movements and groups out.
So, pray for these groups, and be hopeful. Francis can't destroy Catholic tradition....beside the fact he'd have a revolution on his hands...God isn't blessing his initiatives. It's the opposite. Groups which might have appealed to the Pope are now finding support with the SSPX. Pray that the SSPX rejects Francis and his overtures of a "personal prelature".....because all the monks and friars my friend spoke to are against it. I think that is representative of most of the SSPX.
The ICKSP is growing greatly. Pray that the evil whims of Francis and his associates do not now go after them. The traditional Orders are the salvation of the Church....they are the only ones that are growing!

Damian, thanks for that very informative comment. Always interesting to read your posts. I've heard that the ICKSP is actually losing ground in France, not due to their own fault but due to hostile bishops, they've unfortunately been leaving some dioceses where they are no longer welcome. I hope the SSPX or at least someone can pick up the slack. France has tens of thousands of beautiful churches, they cannot all be allowed to go to waste.

I'm going to start praying the ICKSP FSSP etc...receive a Bishop with traditional ordination/consecration holy orders.
I hold the sedevacantist position and will concede that every group from the Sede's,SSPX,SSPX-MC,on down to Ecclesia Dei/Diocesan are guilty of drama,bickering,arguing,etc..let's accept our guilty past and bury the proverbial hatchet.
Roman Catholics need to unify & stop the constant bickering, arguing,& occasional resentment & hatred amongst us.
It would be a blessing for everyone involved if we had one less major issue dividing us.
If everyone was 100% certain of FSSP ICKSP (and similar groups) holy orders,we could focus on our future and survival as a Unified Roman Catholic power block.
(Not in a political sense but in a moral-cultural-geographical sense.)
We are,in our current phase,no different from the Sunnis-Shia-Kurdish sectarian fighting & segregation.
Our Blessed Lord Jesus Christ was tortured, humiliated, and brutally murdered so that "We all may be one!"
As a sedevacantist I will openly say
"God bless Robert Siscoe,John Salza, and Bishop Fellay, may they receive abundant blessings, graces, happiness, and eternal salvation."
