At the conclusion of the meeting of the major superiors of the Society of Saint Pius X that was held in Switzerland, from June 25 to 28, 2016, the Superior General addressed the following communiqué:
The purpose of the Society of Saint Pius X is chiefly the formation of priests, the essential condition for the renewal of the Church and for the restoration of society.
- In the great and painful confusion that currently reigns in the Church, the proclamation of Catholic doctrine requires the denunciation of errors that have made their way into it and are unfortunately encouraged by a large number of pastors, including the Pope himself.
- The Society of Saint Pius X, in the present state of grave necessity which gives it the right and duty to administer spiritual aid to the souls that turn to it, does not seek primarily a canonical recognition, to which it has a right as a Catholic work. It has only one desire: faithfully to bring the light of the bi-millennial Tradition which shows the only route to follow in this age of darkness in which the cult of man replaces the worship of God, in society as in the Church.
- The “restoration of all things in Christ” intended by Saint Pius X, following Saint Paul (cf. Ep.h 1:10), cannot happen without the support of a Pope who concretely favors the return to Sacred Tradition. While waiting for that blessed day, the Society of Saint Pius X intends to redouble its efforts to establish and to spread, with the means that Divine Providence gives to it, the social reign of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
- The Society of Saint Pius X prays and does penance for the Pope, that he might have the strength to proclaim Catholic faith and morals in their entirety. In this way he will hasten the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary that we earnestly desire as we approach the centennial of the apparitions in Fatima.

Very pleased to see the SSPX speaking out on the errors to Catholic Doctrine being promoted by PF & cronies & seemingly ignored by the Prelature, although the laity keep denouncing these errors & signed countless petitions which have come to nothing. It would have been even better if they had questioned the extended papacy & PB saying he felt protected by the outcome & allowed to live out his remaining years in the Vatican precinct wearing his white cassock.
Fantastic!
And that's what a true shepherd does. He doesn't tell his flock to just ignore that wolf over there or to squint their eyes and pretend that it is another sheep. God bless Bishop Fellay.
The promise made by Christ in Matthew 16:18, was kept by one Bishop, Marcel Lefebvre.
What Social Reign of Our Lord Jesus Christ will Bishop Fellay politically affirm ?
'... the Society of Saint Pius X intends to redouble its efforts to establish and to spread, with the means that Divine Providence gives to it, the social reign of Our Lord Jesus Christ.- Bishop Bernard Fellay
When Bishop Bernard Fellay says the Society of Saint Pius X intends to redouble its efforts to establish and to spread, the social reign of Our Lord Jesus Christ, this is just a slogan.
Doctrinally he is not in a position to affirm the Social Reign of Christ the King over all political legislation.
1.He is unable to affirm the dogma extra ecclesiam nulla salus ( Feeneyite) which is the basis of the teaching on the Social Reign of Our Lord Christ the King.
Instead of extra ecclesiam nulla salus( EENS- Feeneyite) he promotes an EENS (Cushingite) which is acceptable to the Jewish Left.
So if there are exceptions to all needing to formally enter the Church, (when the dogma EENS( Feeneyite) does not mention any exceptions), then why should all need to formally enter the Church for salvation and why should all political legislation have as its center the Catholic Church and Jesus Christ?
2.He has made an objective error, a doctrinal error, in public and there is no correction or acknowledgement from him or the SSPX.1
3.He did not comment on the recent Vatican Document on the Jews, issued by the Vatican Commission for Relations with the Jews.It was titled The Gifts and Calling of God are irrevocable.Jewish Left rabbis associated with Israel were present at the Vatican Press Office Conference to announce this Document. It said Jews do not need to convert. It rejected Nostra Aetate 4 which says Catholics are the new people of God. It made no mention of Lumen Gentium 14 and Ad Gentes 7 which indicate all Jews need 'faith and baptism' for salvation.
4.He has removed articles from the SSPX website a few years back to prevent a clash with the Jewish Left.
5.Sometime back he asked the SSPX branches to protest against the ecumenical and inter religious dialogue meetings. When the Jewish Left threathened with their Anti-Semitic laws the protests were stopped.
6.He has disowned Bishop Richard Williamson and many priests of the SSPX Resistance who are labelled Anti-Semitic.
So what Social Reign of Our Lord Jesus Christ will he affirm ?
How can he politically support the Social Reign of Our Lord Jesus Christ when he has not clarified the SSPX doctrinal position on 1) EENS (Feenyite) or EENS (Cushingite) and 2).Vatican Council II (Feeneyite) or Vatican Council II( Cushingite).
The SSPX does not want to affirm Vatican Council II( Feeneyite) or EENS ( Feeneyite) since they will be opposed by the political Left and also cardinals and bishops who support the secular Left.
Vatican Council II and extra ecclesiam nulla salus (EENS),Feeneyite, is the basis for the Social Reign of Our Lord Jesus Christ and the separation of secularism and State.
The Church is in a crisis according to the SSPX, but, then so is the SSPX.

I must say I am very encouraged by this statement by Bishop +Fellay. From Rome's side canonical recognition is very simple. All is needed is for a journalist to ask Frankie on a plane if the SSPX is regularised. Frankie will of course say they are and they are not. So what need is there for a prelature???
"requires the denunciation of errors that have made their way into it and are unfortunately encouraged by a large number of pastors, including the Pope himself."
I thank God for the SSPX, that they have the courage to call Francis what he is to his face. This will not sit well with Francis and company, but then again, the SSPX is totally Roman Catholic, loyal to Our Lord Jesus Christ, the Blessed Virgin Mary, and Catholic Faith and Tradition....and Francis and company are not. I support the SSPX, not Francis and company.
Damian Malliapalli.
Just one? Oh, ok.
Let me put it this way, in 1988, there was one Bishop that was willing to ordain Bishops. Lefebvre knew the Church was in a state of emergency. Lefebvre knew that the continuation of the Catholic Church depended on Catholic Priests, correct Catholic Theology, and the only Roman Rite Liturgy.
Rorate Caeli says the communiqué doesn't meant at all the end of negotiations with Rome. In actually means the opposite. Others disagree totally with Rorate Caeli. What are we to believe?
I would say that for once the SSPX had the backbone to call the Pope and his cohorts exactly what they are, which will make any negotiations much harder.
Only the "neo-con" Catholics would put a positive spin on things, because they wish to put their Pope and their Vatican in the best possible light.
Damian Malliapalli
The talks aren't over, but all the wrong people wish they were.
Then there's merit to Rorate Caeli's analysis of the communiqué? Rorate says the communiqué is actually a signal that the SSPX is ready to work with Rome. Then the communiqué is a message of hope.
Some of these comments are idiotic.
5 years of prepping for a merely practical accord; compromises without number in preparation for it; senior SSPX officials saying "now if the time for an accord" (Schmidberger); "It is a mortal sin to refuse a deal from Rome" (Fr. Vernoy); "We will become schismatics if we don't return to Rome as soon as possible" (Simoulin); and the endless accordist ravings of Fr. Pfluger, among so many others.
Not to mention the official policy of the SSPX remains the 2012 General Chapter (not an anesthestizing communique) plan laying out 3 conditions for the acceptance of a merely practical accord.
Apparently none have the critical thinking skills to see past the camouflage: The communique is nothing more than a tactic in advance of Francis' "unpredictable" and (hardly) "unilateral" announcement of regularization, after which Bishop Fellay will be able to point to this announcement and say "look how well I held the line!"
Yet the compromises which have been made to get to this point (Google search my "Response to an SSPX Priest Part I and II)" are not being undone. It is still full steam ahead into Rome (and both Rorate and the now-corrected report on NCR recognize it). Only the blind refuse to see reality.
PS: See the article on NonPossumus, and the comments of Fr. Patrick Girouard. Read this thread: http://ablf3.com/threads/regensburg-tolerates-sspx-ordinations.502/#post-2944
The Communique merely shows the Society's readiness to criticize this Pope, and the Second Vatican Council. The only thing you're right about is that the reconciliation will go forward as planned.
Rorate is never wrong about anything. They were right about Bergoglio's pontificate, weren't they?
Actually two bishops... you're forgetting the Lion of Campos
And their rejection of key documents of Vatican II, the Council that contains and preserves the magisterium of all other councils, means that the SSPX are heretics, Schismatic and therefore outside the Church of Jesus Christ.
I think you're in for a rude awakening.
The Remnant doesn't recognize that it's full steam ahead with a canonical agreement for the SSPX. The Remnant is probably the number 1 expert on the blogs about the SSPX.
If The Remnant says to forget SSPX regularization now, then you can believe the communique has called off the canonical agreement.
The SSPX will talk to Rome again in a few years after a new Pope arrives. Until then, the discussions are over.
Based on what?
Based on The Remnant and the knowledge of their readers. Read the comments over there. Everyone knows the SSPX just played hardball with the pope. Everyone there's saying the talks are over until we get a new pope.
All this talk about the communique being camouflage that allows the SSPX to pretend its tough against the pope, when a deal is about to be made is wrong. The SSPX just closed the door until there's a new pope. It's just what I believe and I'm confident the Remnant readers got it right
Who can argue with a readership that's so well-informed?
What about Archbishop Thuc and Archbishop Mendez?(I know Mendez didn't happen until 1993 but Thuc was the first to consecrate)Archbishop Kurz was one of the first to resist the new conciliar documents.
What do you think of this German District Superior's sermon on the Meeting in Menzingen. Do you think +Fellay is honest with his D.S.?
