Born on April 30, 1924 in Montpellier, the journalist worked for more than 50 years as a reporter on the Catholic Church. From 1949-1951 for the daily newspaper La Croix, then to 2000 for Paris Match. As such, he reported on the Second Vatican Council. From 1969-1972 he was also an employee of French television and RTL 1972-1979.
The Vatican expert accompanied the pontificates of five popes Pius XII. to John Paul II.
He became famous in 1952: As the first reporter to haveaccess to the private residence of the Pope in the Vatican, together with the photographer Pierre Vals.

Serrous name is connected primarily with Fatima because of a photo reportage. He reported on the papal apartment for Paris Match, to which he again received entree on 14 May 1957. His report was not published until eighteen months later. Here also is the photo shown that was published.
In the private apartment of Pius XII., Serrou was accompanied by Mother Pascalina Lehnert. Lehnert belonged to the Order of the Sisters of the Holy Cross with the head office in Switzerland Menzingen. In 1918, she was sent by her order to accompany the apostolic nuncio to Bavaria, Archbishop Eugenio Pacelli, the future Pope Pius XII. She served him for 40 years until his death. From 1939-1958 she led the papal household with other Sisters.
Serrou asked Mother Pascalina what was in the safe, which can be seen in the photo, she replied:
"The Third Secret of Fatima is in there."
The whole story of course had a history and a subsequent history. However, these small details should suffice as a reference.
Serrou was the author of numerous books on religious, ecclesial and current issues. His special attention was paid to the life of the monks, which fascinated him. To them he devoted, among others, his first, 1955 published book "Au désert de Chartreuse, la vie solitaire of fils deSaint Bruno" (The Desert of Charterhouse. The lonely way of the Sons of Saint Bruno). His last book was published in 2006:. "Dieu, Jésus et les autres, petit dictionnaire de rattrapage pour savoir qui est qui, qui fait quoi et pourquoi" (God, Jesus and the others, Little dictionary reference to know who is who, who does what and why).
Robert Serrou had four children, nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren with his wife Marie. A Requiem will be celebrated in the Paris church of Saint Medard.

According to Antonio Socci, in that safe in the papal aprtments was purportedly placed the part of the Fatima's 3rd Secret wich was not revealed to the world in 2000.
Cardinal Ciappi who had read it said once that "In the 3rd Secret it is foretold, among other things, that the Great Apostasy in the Church WILL BEGIN AT THE TOP.
Currently everyone can witness the fulfillment of that prophecy.
Here is the 3rd secret. Much of this was confirmed by Fr. Malachi Martin after a call in to the Art Bell show. How this got out was someone bound by oath not to reveal the secret simply padded it with extra words. The late great Cardinal Ottaviani apparently helped by pointing out the words which were not in the secret, thus no oath of secrecy was broken by him or the person who padded the document with extra words. Below is the document with the padding removed.
The padded version was read on the Art Bell show with Fr. Martin and Fr Martin said "elements are true". And yes, we know we're past the second half of the 20th century, I attribute this to our Lady holding her Son's arm and because the faithless popes refused the mandate of our Lady and thus she had to release similar statements at Garabandal and Akita. When he was Cardinal Ratzinger, he confirmed the Fatima secret message is essentially the SAME as other apparitions.
"A great chastisement will fall on the entire human race; not today as yet, not tomorrow, but in the second half of the twentieth century.
No longer does order reign anywhere and Satan will reign over the highest places directing the course of events. He (Satan) really will succeed in infiltrating to the top of the Church. Also for the Church a time of Her greatest trials will come. Cardinals will oppose Cardinals; Bishops will oppose Bishops and Satan will march amid their ranks, and in Rome there will be changes. What is rotten will fall, and what will fall will never rise again. The Church will be darkened and the world deranged by terror.
A great war will break out within the second half of the Twentieth Century, fire and smoke will fall from Heaven, the water of the oceans will become vapors and the foam will rise up flooding and sinking everything, millions and millions of people will die by the hour and the survivors will envy the dead.
Death will reign everywhere for the errors committed by the foolish and by the partisans of Satan, who, then and only then, will reign over the world. And as far as the official "3rd secret" released in 2000? I personally believe it's a complete fabrication. The reason for which I have no idea except maybe an attempt to put Fatima to rest forever. Foolish men who ignore the mandate of our Lady.
Maybe that's why PF doesn't live in the papal apartments. Out of sight, out of mind.
First of all, that is NOT the Third Secret of Fatima.
The Third Secret (I.e. the exact words of Our Lady) follow: "In Portugal, the dogma of the Faith will always be preserved..."
What you quoted is a conglomeration of Akita, Garabandal and the Neues Europa version of the Third Secret.

I believe it is and you're partially correct, it DOES come from Neues Europe but it is not a "conglomoration" of Akita and Garabandal. It is very similar to the messages of Akita and Garabandal which we know from the Ambassador of the Philippines who said Cardinal Ratzinger said was "essentially the same". That and the late Fr. Martin saying that there were "elements of the third secret" in a text which was read to him. That is all we need to know.
This was a warning for 1960 before the second Vatican Council. It was a warning for the faithful, not the bishops or the Pope, it would have been very shocking in 1960, it's not (unfortunately) very shocking or unexpected today. Humanity stands on the edge of chastisement, we need to pray the rosary and do penance, our Lady took other steps to get the secret out, it's now out and all we need to do, all we can do is pray the rosary and do penance and wake up anyone who may somehow been asleep the last 40 or so years.
I have read the book and the epilogue which do a great job describing the false 3rd secret and continued cover up.
The deceptions of Bertone and others aside, we can take JP2's words from Fulda in 1980 which again, match other apparations:
"On the other hand, it should be sufficient for all Christians to know this: if there is a message in which it is written that the oceans will flood whole areas of the earth, and that from one moment to the next millions of people will perish, truly the publication of such a message is no longer something to be so much desired."
What else is there to know? A fourth secret? Even if one exists it's not needed, we know everything there is to know which is: pray the rosary.

I don't think the released part is a complete fabrication. They'd have made it better fit the assassination attempt of JP2 if it were. There is a missing explanation given by Mary. Twenty-five lines on a single sheet of paper is the reported length of it. It should mention the apostasy in the Church, Vatican II, and our present two pope situation in my opinion.

A few points. I once found Garabandal interesting, but the church has discredited that apparition. We are to have nothing to do with it.
We are in the 21st century, so, the time has passed if we are interested in specifics.
I do believe we are in the latter days, and am looking forward to divine intervention, because it's clear we aren't going to get much help here.
I believe the Church stance on Garabandal was that it was not of supernatural origin. That's a lot different then "We are to have nothing to do with it". Nothing about it has been condemned.

If there is another part of the secret not released as there may well be, we already know it, just look at Bergoglio, we can't understand what's in the secret by looking at the Church today. The chastisement, combined with a pope under the control of Satan, apostasy beginning at the top, this is what caused Sr (lets just say Saint because she will be one day) so much agonizing that it took her months before she could write down the secret.
These conspiracy theories are tiresome at this point. What may have been disclosed and what may have been with held are all a moot point at this juncture.

The Secret of Fatima would be widely known if the Pope had actually stored it in that unlocked pine box.
There are so many theories it is hard to know fact from fiction. The answer to all of the Fatima questions are to be found in the Biography of Sister Lucia Dos Santos, written by the Sisters of the Carmelite Convent of Coimbra Portugal where Sister Lucia lived since the late 40's. The Biography is titled "A Pathway Under the Gaze of Mary". In the beginning of the Biography it states, "Sister Lucia grew tired of trying to correct false statements and rumors, pleading instead to just do what Our Lady asked.". This Biography should clear up all misconceptions about Fatima and the Third Secret and the Consecration of March 25, 1984. Something I found startling in the Biography is that Sister Lucia was asked about Vatican Council ll. According to the Carmelite Nuns, Sister Lucia remained thinking and then answered, "I am prohibited from speaking on Vatican Council ll". Why? Could her opinion have been the same as that of St. Padre Pio, which was a negative opinion. I'm not trying to create more theories but there was some reason why she was prohibited from speaking on the Council.
