Edit: he's been bad since 1980, and he'll continue to be bad till someone in authority corrects him. It doesn't seem to matter much that his statements betray Christ or are a cause of scandal to faithful Catholics suffering persecution. Here he is again:
[Catholic Herald] The Pope’s personal preacher has praised the Reformation and said that moral issues such as sexuality, should not “divide us more than Jesus unites us.”
Speaking at Wesminster Abbey, during the inauguration of the Church of England’s Tenth General Synod, Fr Raniero Cantalamessa, who has served as Preacher to the Papal Household since 1980, praised the “theological and spiritual enrichment” of the Reformation.
He said: “We need to go back to the time of the Apostles: they faced a pre-Christian world, and we are facing a largely post-Christian world. When Paul wants to summarise the essence of the Christian message in one sentence, he does not say, “I proclaim this or that doctrine to you.” He says, “We preach Christ crucified” (1 Cor 1:23), and “We preach . . . Jesus Christ as Lord” (2 Cor 4:5). This is the real “articulus stantis et cadentis Ecclesiae”, the article by which the Church stands or falls.

PS. Is it a tad unchristian to refer to someone as 'evil'?
"The Pope’s personal preacher has praised the Reformation" What else can be said? The Deformation was of the devil and his accomplice, Martin Luther. There is nothing to be praised or admired by it. How many souls are in hell because of Luther and his rebellion? How many in the last 500 years have divorced themselves from the Church and have been lost to the depths of the darkness?
What a piece of garbage. I have more regard for Martin Luther than for Cantalamessa.
Was treibet Christum?
He's not saying anything Francis doesn't agree with. A non-heretical bishop, priest or religious is in the minority.
Cantalamessa was the one that kneeled along with Card. Jorge Bergoglio in Buenos Aires to receive a "blessing" from the hands of a heretic. So this is not a surprise
I just saw the headline of this post in a sidebar and thought to myself "Must be Cantalamessa." How boringly irrelevant and predictable his indifference always is!
There is no unity with those who hate Jesus, schmuck! Those who love Him at least try to keep His commandments.
God save us from Pope Francis and that rotten, putrid, destructive Vatican Council II.
I cannot for the life of me understand why a Roman Catholic preacher would accept an invitation to preach at such a meeting. Just as I am at a loss to understand the Bishop of Rome's presence at Prayers with Lutherans recently when he used the term "The Lord's Supper" to describe the Holy Eucharist! A very Bad Look indeed, even to a casual observer. To a faithful Catholic, the stuff of nightmares!
Surely the apt comment on this evil Capuchin's claim that "Jesus unites us" is Matthew 10, 34-36:
“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35 For I have come to turn
“ ‘a man against his father,
a daughter against her mother,
a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law—
36a man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.
Not at all. It is a work of mercy. Read the words of Our Blessed Lord, St. John the Baptist, St. Paul, St. John...
At first, I assumed that this priest was in his late 60's, but the guy is 81 ! Why is he still on the road preaching this garbage. But the worst thing is, if the man at the top did not approve of what he's spewing out, he would be corrected. Sad thing is Francis probably is 100% behind his man.
But fortunately, he is just about 79 himself. He's not looking good, and it's an open secrete in Rome that his health is failing......regardless of the gossip, he has a health issue and it's not small.
I still believe, from what I have read of the ill will in the Vatican and even among Cardinals and Bishops Conferences that Francis and his thugs have engendered, that at the next conclave to elect a new Pope (and it's not too far off, they will choose someone very much the opposite to Francis both in Papal appearance and vesture, mindset, and liturgy. Someone very much like Benedict XVI. It will be a man who looks, dresses, and acts like a true ,classical, Roman Pope. Something Benedict XVI tried to do and the liberal garbage wouldn't let him.
But now they have very much been discredited by Francis and his antics. The next Pope will be a younger model of Benedict XVI, with the determination to clean the Church of the rot as a Pius X. And he will be youngish enough to get things done in swift order, and then have years to consolidate and restore the Church.
The days of Fr. Faineiro Cantallamessa are almost gone.

(Not as a criticism, because I understand why it was done, but the old way of posting comments, where everyone got to respond was more enjoyable and interesting. Imiss the back and forth exchange....but I realize that some took advantage of this great site. I hope I wasn;t one of them :)
A quote from the sermon (https://archive.is/KgLq7):
"This does not mean ignoring the great theological and spiritual enrichment that came from the Reformation or desiring to go back to the time before it. It means instead allowing all of Christianity to benefit from its achievements, once they are freed from certain distortions due to the heated atmosphere of the time and of later controversies."
Considering that one of the aftermaths of the Reformation was the great Council of Trent, which produced more detailed declaration and clarification of past teaching, the proliferation of religious orders, and a rekindling of the Catholic faith, one may see the Reformation as one sees the Fall of Man at Eden ("O necessary Sin of Adam that won for us a Savior"): a regretful event that yielded much fruit.
Benedict XVI was the last Roman Pontiff, full stop, No more, these are the Judgment's days, let's pray for our souls.
If you visit Rotterdam the St Laurence church. You will find it firmly Locked. It was once a Catholic church but went over to the 'reform' at the reformation. Now it is an empty shell. It is full of humanism and pelagianism. Why would anyone want to attend a protestant service in this sad secularised shell. The majority of the Dutch have no true Christian faith and the Protestants are to blame with their stupid 'reform'
Cantalamessa = can tell all a mess ah ! 81 years old , capuchin , he has been preaching to Popes. His preaching seems to be that he wants to
Send as many souls as possible behind the popes to Hell. Sorry , he seems to be a believer that there is no God and so there is no judgement ,Heaven or HELL. If there is an iota of fear of God and there is judgement after death he would have repented for his false teachings . Let us pray that he repents soon and spends rest of his life offering true sacrifice of Mass and obtains God' Mercy and saved . Immaculate Heart of Mary pray for his conversion.
He is rather typical of someone from a predominantly Catholic country who has no experience of living in a Protestant country such as England. He said:
"Christ is the light of the world, the one who gives meaning and hope to every human life – and the majority of people around us live and die as if He had never existed! How can we be unconcerned, and each remain “in the comfort of our own panelled houses”?
He is absolutely right but why do the majority of people around us not believe in God? The simple answer in England is the Anglican Church who have simply lost the plot. You only have to look at the tiny congregations attending the Anglican Church; were we not recently told that the average was 10 per Parish Church? Foreigners may be fooled by sight of the privileged position the Anglican Church still holds such as in Parliament or the magnificent Cathedrals but away from the pomp the Anglican Church is an irrelevance; unfortunately the Catholic Church, in trying to imitate them, is also becoming an irrelevance.
what would you expect from a Franciscan?? look at that devil O'Malley, if St. Francis would come back today he would say "where is my church " no wonder the order is not getting anyone to join, its a true mess.
