Pope Francis Happily Receives Hammer and Sickle "Crucifix" From Marxist President of Bolivia
Update: we received this Rome Reports from a reader. Apparently, the Pope expressed his displeasure, but still accepted the blasphemous article with a smile on his face. Any surprise anyone would be confused?
http://www.romereports.com/2015/07/09/pope-to-bolivian-president-that-s-not-right
We aren't hopeful that the Vatican Press Secretary will offer a satisfactory explanation either.
Edit: here's from the blog of Father Ariel Levi Di Gualdo who has this response to the event where Pope Francis met with Marxist Evo Morales, who presented to him a crucifix shaped like the Marxist hammer and sickle.
[Islodipatmos] Upon seeing this the Holy Father John Paul II, comes to mind. The immediate spontaneous thought: what would happen if during an apostolic visit to one of the many countries he visited during his long papacy, some of head of state had given him a crucified Christ on a sickle and a hammer?
Undoubtedly, many martyrs were "crucified" on the hammer and sickle in the twentieth century, but just what was the true intention of the Bolivian President Evo Morales?
We have no answers to give, but we can pray for all the victims of Communism, asking the intercession of all the saints and blessed who have given their lives for the Church and who were martyred in supreme hatred of the faith from the children of the worst of Marxist ideologues in the name of class struggle that has nothing to do with the Gospel and with the message of salvation contained in it.

They gave him also some leaves of coca, days ago I saw people holding a crucifix with the pic of the BoR instead of Jesus, so.......it's such a pity for me seeing these things.....God bless.
More blasphemy. They are abusing Our Lord and His Holy Church for their nefarious NWO atheistic. Socialist materialist tyrannical ideology.
"But the wicked and impostors will go from bad to worse, erring and leading into error." 2 Timothy 3:13.
You can just hear the excuses from the grinning apostate, 'this might look blasphemous, a mockery of Christ and His Holy Cross, and it might seem a perversion to unite the antichrist philosphy of marx with the truth of Christ Crucified, but just pray that what seems blasphemous, that what appears to be perverse and a mockery of God, will become a miracle...'
That's a lie. Francis specifically said, "That's not right" in Spanish after he realized what it was. He's not the best Pope we've ever had, but for the sake of all that's Holy don't needlessly create scandal where there is none.
Whatever he said, he still accepted the blasphemous article. A better response would have been to have smashed it on the ground.
This blasphemous item would not have been offered to any other pope because no other pope would have been sending out messages that he is cool with Marxist theory.
The gift was a reproduction (or recreation) of a similar hammer and sickle crucifix made by spanish priest Luis Espinal, considered a martyr for the poor in Bolivia, who believed in the struggle of the working class (why he chose the proletariat symbol) and was murdered here defending it from a dictatorship.
Dont believe me, look it up.
Making a blasphemous symbol that celebrates the murderers of millions of Christians? Sounds like he got what he deserved.
Reports one of the necklaces he accepted had the same 'crucifix' on it.
Tancred, he's the pope, not a robe-renting Pharisee. Maybe you should look into it. Shame on you. If he had thrown it to the ground, you would have complained that he threw the corpus to the ground, or that he should have then stomped on it, or that he should have never taken the meeting to begin with. It must be hard playing armchair pontiff. I pity you.
correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't these gifts CAREFULLY screened beforehand so that everyone involved knows what's going to be given? These are state visits...that's how protocol is done. The other thing that is pretty damning is that one of the third-world-dictator-medal-necklaces placed around the pope's neck has this exact image on it....look at the picture in the comments section, here.....

Sorry, but you couldn't pay me enough to have someone place a symbol on my body without my knowing what it is....ESPECIALLY if we're dealing with a snake like Morales who took every vestige of Catholicism out of public life in Bolivia that he possibly could, and replaced Catholic ceremonies with pagan rituals for state occasions.
He accepted the blasphemous crucifix, and he even wore the same image around his neck on the papal cassock. If he knew beforehand, he's a snake; if he didn't know and accepted (instead of giving a STRONG rebuke and refusal, and public explanation on camera) in order to not offend the tin-horn despot, while subsequently gravely offending God and the faithful, then he is still a snake. No way to parse this to the good KMYoung.
would have been really nice if he had pried the corpus off, kissed it, handed it to his aid in acceptance and dropped or handed back the POS hammer and sickle to the POS despot.
Gosh, you certainly have made a fool of yourself in your bitter and unthinking rush to judgment. The fact is that the Holy Father rebuked Mrales for such a thing. First, your should go to confession. Second, you and those others who hysterically rushed to judgement should apologize to your readers. Thirdly, you should consult a psychologist for dealing with your obvious anal retentive personality.
News Release:
Pope rebukes Bolivian President Morales for hammer-and-sickle crucifix
Catholic World News - July 09, 2015
Bolivia’s President Evo Morales drew a rebuke from Pope Francis when he presented the Pontiff with a crucifix mounted on a hammer and sickle.
“That’s not right,” the Pope said when he saw the crucifix combined with the symbol of Communism. The incident occurred during the traditional exchange of gifts as the Pope paid a courtesy call on the Bolivian leader.
Morales—who has a penchant for mixing Communist ideology and pagan rituals with Catholic symbols—has had a tense relationship with the Church since becoming president of Bolivia in 2006. He once referred to the Church as his “main enemy.”
Pope Francis appeared to be taken aback by the unusual gift.
Not likely.
Anal Retent Anon - apparently you are wrong - Pope rec'd necklace w/same medallion and went to pray at priest's grave who invented the travesty. Apparently what he said was "I didn't know that." Imagine bergoglio who prays in mosques, commends the koran as a holy book, tells jews they don't need to convert, but have their own separate covenant (atheists, adulterers, and dogs too), greets raul castro as a hero and gets cuba opened up to U.S. despite the regime's hatred and persecution of catholics telling ANYBODY that ANYTHING is wrong. After the croziers bergoglio carries and the crucifixes he hides, why would he be shocked anyway? Just the kind of propaganda Jesus Christ he preaches and the kind of confession (sacraments) you believe in (using the sacraments as a cloak for malice).
The Pope doesn't say to Evo Morales "that's not right", he says "I didn't know that". It can be clearly heard, I'm spanish and I understand well my language.
Facts are hard and terrible, but they are the reality.
We must wake up and pray. October is coming soon, with the "God of surprises"
Greetings from Spain.
In cordibus Iesu et Mariae.
What a self-righteous sanctimonious ignoramus you are Anonymous. Francis appears like most moral cowards when they are presented with something they ought to condemn but don't have the guts to. He looks utterly embarrassed but incapable of doing what a real Roman Catholic pope would have done years ago. In fact, they would not have demeaned themselves by giving such atheistic anti-Catholics the air-space to suck perverse publicity for themselves which the liberal modernist church is only to willing to oblige. Yet again the postmodern neo-church illustrates what a defective copy of the genuine institution it is.
To all you defenders of this, whatever the pope said he still accepted this blasphemous article.
A lot of people love Jesus Christ when they can use him for their own agenda Jesus is Savior not socialist ,Redeemer not rebel .
Pope Francis gave several disgusted looks as he was shown the object in question.
Edward Timmons
bull. His look was neutral, then he gave a smile in accepting it.
What on earth is it with you kool-ade drinkers?...what will it take to have you see what's in front of your eyes?
Luis Espinal's "struggle" was that of "Liberation Theology", which is simply Marxist-communist revolution in Christian disguise. Once, this deadly poison was virulent predominantly in Latin America. Today, it is the guiding principle of the whole of the Catholic Church, from top to bottom.
This is why this Pope (who misses no opportunity to demonstrate that he is very much a Marxist himself) receives these communist dictators in the Vatican and pays them visits in their own countries, which they are so shamefully bringing down to material and spiritual devastation. This is why he blames "capitalist greed" for all the ills in society. This is why he promotes a communistically "poor" church for the poor. This is why he so greatly supports the eco-communist agenda of "fighting global warming", although this hoax has long since been exposed as a clever scheme by the world revolution to cripple the economies of the non-communist world.
Today's Catholic Church, hijacked by the enemy more than half a century ago, is nothing more than an insidious sister organisation to the communistic United Nations.
We just have to disagree, I saw looks of disgust on the Pope's face...my opinion.
Edward Timmons
Forget the update from romereport!
The Pope DID NOT say "eso no esta bien" - "this isn't ok"!!!!!
Not at all.
He listened to the story of Luis Espinal, as told by Morales, and said
"no sabia eso" - "I didn't know that"
Morales replied "pues ahora lo sabe" - "well, now you know!"
This pope or BoR is a socialist's dream and a Catholic's nightmare.
What a smug jerk that Morales is.
I agree! Great points! Plus, look at that grin!
James
"see and see, and do not perceive; hear and hear, and do not understand."
His look was not one of disgust, it was of listening intently, saying "I did not know that", then a BIG grin in the acceptance. Look at the pictures in the link, and give the post a read.....and then please, for the love of God and all that is holy; WAKE UP!

Also, this great comment from St. Corbinian's Bear....
Oakes Spalding July 9, 2015 at 9:23 PM
It's all a freaking distraction anyway. He told a million people (or whatever it was) that Jesus' words at the last supper were about social revolution. If that's not Liberation Theology, Karl Marx was a Hindu.
In regard to the "great comment from St. Corbinian's Bear", did you read the Pope's sermon in question? "Oakes Spalding" at St. Corbinian's Bear must not have read the Pope's sermon in question.
That is obvious as there is not a shred of "Liberation Theology" in the Pope's "social revolution" sermon.
Sorry, Oakes Spalding, but here is what Pope Francis said, and it's all about us embracing Jesus Christ, fleeing sin,and unifying as brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ...oh, my, left-wing, Liberation Theology!
Now, back to what Pope Francis actually said...not the "great comment" from St. Corbinian's Bear and Oakes Spalding:
"The word of God calls us to live in unity, that the world may believe.
"I think of those hushed words of Jesus during the Last Supper as more of a shout, a cry rising up from this Mass which we are celebrating in Bicentennial Park.together, under the beautiful challenge of evangelization.
"We evangelize not with grand words, or complicated concepts, but with “the joy of the Gospel”, which “fills the hearts and lives of all who encounter Jesus.
"For those who accept his offer of salvation are set free from sin, sorrow, inner emptiness and loneliness”.
“Father, may they be one... so that the world may believe”. This was Jesus’ prayer as he raised his eyes to heaven. This petition arose in a context of mission:
“As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world”.
"At that moment, the Lord was experiencing in his own flesh the worst of this world, a world he nonetheless loved dearly.
"Knowing full well its intrigues, its falsity and its betrayals, he did not turn away, he did not complain.
"We too encounter daily a world torn apart by wars and violence. It would be facile to think that division and hatred only concern struggles between countries or groups in society.
"Rather, they are a manifestation of that “widespread individualism” which divides us and sets us against one another, that legacy of sin lurking in the heart of human beings, which causes so much suffering in society and all of creation."
Edward Timmons
Who the heck knows what he meant by that? I thought it was "Man, you can't be that blatant! It'll give the game away completely!" But judging by the traditional mass Explanatory Tap Dance that followed, he needn't have worried. There will always be volunteers to press those soft pillows down on the faces of struggling Catholics until they stop twitching.
Yes correct. How can the vicar of Christ stand there and NOT denounce that wicked Bolivian president for blaspheming our Lord?
Hey jackwipe, seriously, get a clue....

Having read this I thought it was very informative. I appreciate you spending some time and effort to put this article together.
I once again find myself spending a significant amount of time both reading and leaving comments.
But so what, it was still worthwhile!
