VATICAN CITY — according to AP international, Pope Francis is fleeing the Vatican for a retreat along with trusted members of his household to work "correcting the many defects we all have." We assume this means he's going to deal with some of the public relations disasters accompanied by many of his problematic statements.
They insist that Francis addressed tens of thousands of Romans, tourists and pilgrims in St. Peter's Square for his Angelus address that later he and top aides were starting a spiritual renewal retreat that Sunday. They will be gone until Friday morning spending time till the. To meditate, and listen to reflections in Ariccia, a Rome suburb. What about fasting?
He didn't list the "defects." But in the nearly two years since becoming pontiff, Francis has put Vatican prelates on guard against careerism, arrogance, hypocrisy, corruption and being too judgmental instead of merciful.

Tens of thousands in Saint Peter's Square?? Whoever is insisting on this lie had better be going on this penetenial retreat. Who is reporting this nonsense? Bagdad Bob?
ReplyDeleteIt's the penitential retreat for a week, in Ariccia, near by Rome, for the Lent, nothing new, even past year they did.....about the square...please, have a look at the pic of last thursday....
ReplyDeleteWell, it will be nice to get a break this week from nonstop Francis news. My poor brain needs a rest.
ReplyDeleteI bet JP II and Benedict never got the same kind of close scrutiny and examination of motives by the "Loyal to the Pope and Magisterium' Brigade (1978-2012).
ReplyDeleteThe levels of passive aggression towards Pope Francis displayed on many 'conservative' blogs these days clearly indicate a deep seated cowardice and a monumental immaturity.
hey amateur psychotherapist...why do you troll around here then?
DeleteWhat's the name of that blog where clerical deviants hang out and gossip about Cardinal Burke?
DeleteThis is a "traditional Catholic" blog and not a "conservative Catholic" blog. Big difference.
DeleteTraditional Catholics have been scrutinizing the popes since the reign of Paul VI, particularly on religious indifferentism (i.e. ecumenism) and religious liberty (e.g. South America losing tens of millions of Catholics to protestantism because Paul VI forced those nations to legalize non-Catholic religions).
Just look up "Michael Davies" if you want to know where Traditional Catholics stand, also the Syllabus of Errors by Pius IX. Traditionalists have scrutinized John Paul II and Ratzinger/Benedict XVI just as meticulously as Francis is being scrutinized today.
3:42, you forgot to say in staccato "and are racist sexist homophobes who dropped out of college wear plaid drive used American small cars carry rifles and dine at all you can eat buffets."
DeleteI've been critical of JPII forever. It was very demoralizing to have him as a pope, and I thought his appointments under Jadot were mostly evil men.
DeleteWe didn't fare too well under Pius IX either, wit respect to appointments and he was a great Pope.
Let's be cool (mature & brave) like the Basilian perverts bludgeoning into silence w/profanity, violence and the threat of police action anyone who defends the teachings of Jesus Christ, the babies in the womb, and 12 year old boys (anointed Davids) from rape and murder. I pray you come to see yourselves in the light of the Holy Ghost and repent of the evil you have done before you die.
Delete"being too judgmental instead of merciful". This is something I question about Pope Francis. He speaks of not being judgmental and that we need to be merciful. Yet he rules like a tyrant, judging and condemning Catholics who do what is right and elevating those who do what is wrong. It would be great if one day he went on a spiritual retreat led by His Excellency Bishop Bernard Fellay. The theme of the retreat could be on, not being judgmental and on true mercy, Pope Francis would be surprised at what these themes truly mean.
ReplyDeleteThen delate the contemptible Argentinian Jesuit to Card Mueller of the CDF. That should do the trick.
