The 221st Anniversary of the Murder of Marie Antoinette
Today is the 221st anniversary of the murder of the "Capet Widow". Her Most Christian Majesty, Queen Marie Antoinette of France and Navarre, Archduchess of Austria.
Already on the 21st of January, 1793, her husband, His Most Christian Majesty, King Louis XVI of France and Navarre, had proceeded her in martyrdom.
The Failure of the King of France to consecrate France to the Sacred Heart led to his downfall ,He eventually carried it out but to late ,makes you wonder what the consequences of failing to consecrate Russia will be for Rome.
President Gabriel Garcia Moreno did consecrate his country of Ecuador to thenSacred Heart and he too was murdered. I would appreciate comments on this. Thank you.
Garcia Moreno was a martyr. The crown of martyrdom made him a saint. I dont think that could be said of the death of the French king. That is the only difference I can draw from the two.
Oddly enough, Hillaire Belloc was a Republicaine. But then, the true history of the Revolution is coming out in France only now. Pray for the souls of Louis and Marie.

DeleteThat's nice.
DeleteThere are a few saints who were mostly impeccable and had never committed a serious sin.
Fewer still are heads of state who've never neglected their duties.
Fewer still win a crown of martyrdom.
DeleteVive Henri V de la Croix!

ReplyDeleteCorrection, don't pray FOR them, pray TO them. They are saints, martyrs for the faith, they carried their cross to the finish.
