(Rome) in Rome in early October are two events related to Pope Pius XII.. A second international conference will take place at the nationally recognized private university, Guglielmo Marconi, in Rome in October on the theme of "Pius XII. and the Second World War: Events, theses and News from the archives." On October 4th, Cardinal Burke will celebrate a memorial Mass at the grave of this pope. This according to the official website for the beatification of Pope Pius XII. (1939-1958).
The focus of the scientific exchange of ideas is the pontificate of Pius XII.during the Second World War. It will have particular emphasis on Vatican diplomacy, analyzing peace efforts, relations to the warring parties with National Socialist Germany, the Communist Soviet Union and liberal- capitalist United States, as well as the role of the Catholic Church during the war, those of the Allies, the Shoah and the use of the Holy See to the rescue of persecuted Jews.
Speakers have been gathered from a broad range of Catholic and Jewish experts (the full program of the meeting ). Organizers of the conference are the Vicariate of the Diocese of Rome, the Knigths of Columbus and initiated by Gary Krupp 2003 of Pave the Way Foundation, which is significantly involved with historical research on the pontificate of Pius XII. and in connection to the historical profession, even more so in the political field and contributes to the collective consciousness, a rethinking of the person and the work of Pius XII..
Pope Benedict XVI. wanted to perform the beatification of Pius XII at the beginning of his pontificate, since the corresponding regular procedure was completed successfully. But he refrained because Jewish protests and the urgent requests of several leading church officials. At the same time he ordered a re-evaluation of the archives in order to avoid possible criticism. Since his resignation, the beatification process has largely remained a construction site.

Oh, this is just so good, on SO many levels....
ReplyDeletePope Pius XII...pray for us!!!
Well we assume that Cardinal Burke will be offering the Mass.....that is unless the Bishop of Rome doesn't laicize him for being orthodox and unbending on Catholic teaching. But maybe not Francis doesn't judge......oh wait I forgot.
ReplyDeleteWe're all kidding ourselves. The cause of Pius XII is done. Burke is good as fired. Modernism has triumphed in Vatican II and Pope Francis.
ReplyDeleteAll we can do is pray, go to Mary, and do our part to preserve and share the Catholic faith with others.
Presumption and despair.
DeleteRealism.
DeletePius XII might still be beatified, since Francis has spoken well of him, but it is the cold hard truth that modernism has triumphed over the Church, just like the Jews seemingly triumphed over Christ at Calvary. What we await now is the resurrection of the Church. The Church, like a sinusoidal function, has always bounced back from a major crisis with greatness equal to its previous depravity.
DeleteWhat Mahony is to North America, Bergoglio was to South America. What Danneels is to the Netherlands, Bergoglio was to Argentina. Cardinal Bergoglio is now Pope Francis, he's the same man with a different name. All the crypto-Lefebvrists like the FFI, +Livieres, +++Burke, and so forth have shown their true colours when Benedict XVI had the keys, and now they are open targets for Soviet style liquidation. Major and influential Archdiocese like Chicago have been taken over by radical liberals. Ratzingerians are becoming a minority and are being demoted. The Novus Ordo seminary system, radically different to pre-concilliar seminaries, has formed almost every active (not retired) priest, bishop, and cardinal in 2014. Even if someone like Burke became pope, we'd need a 30 year long pontificate to reverse some of the damage.
Rome is notorious for being slow to make changes. Francis hasn't even been pope for 2 years and we're already complaining how the Church is radically changing. Can you imagine what the Catholic Church will look like in 2017? Realism indeed.
There's nothing real about pretended information.
DeleteGod's in charge, ultimately and nobody knows what's going to happen.
DeleteThis is a noble effort and worth doing.
