Don De Paolis and his companion gave the pontiff a chalice and a paten made of olive wood. A friendly gesture and a gift, if not suitable, according to prescriptions by the Church for use at Mass. But such "little things" have never bothered Don Michele De Paolis, who also presented the Pope his most recent book entitled: "An Inconvenient Priest" (Un prete scomodo), plus a prayer request. Pope Francis, still not quite familiar with the Italian language, unintentionally mixed up "scomodo" with "incomodo" which means "A Priest Makes the Circumstances". What some Catholics from Puglia think is quite correct. The real surprise, however, came at the end of the short encounter, when the Pope kissed Don De Paolis on the hand. A gesture revealing the humility of a great man to another of the same stature," as the Left-leaning internet daily L'immediato gushed.
Pope Francis: "Everything is possible. Talk to Cardinal Maradiaga "
"Don Michele" as the priest is called by all, reported on his Facebook page about the meeting with the Pope. "I concelebrated with the Pope Francis. I read the Gospel After the celebration, the Pope greeted those present in another room. We, I and my companions were the last." "Last "," marginalized, "" marginalized ", "outcast" is the standard vocabulary of self-understanding which is the unmistakably recognizeable in the vocabulary of the radical Left. In fact, the contacts are very good in this direction. Apulia is governed by professed homosexual and Communist Nichi Vendola since 2005.
De Paolis continued on his Facebook entry with what he told the pope: "We want so much for us an audience of Emmaus. Is that possible? ' "Anything is possible. Talk to Cardinal Maradiaga and he shall prepare everything.' And then (unbelievably) he kissed my hand! I hugged him and wept." His emotion is understandable. One should nevertheless beware of falling in the direction of this lexical trap, this anarcho-Catholicism. It juggles with emotional terms, while its diction is to think Marxist. Clueless outsiders can be easily lulled into it themselves. The "ideological" Christianity which Pope Francis had already repeatedly criticized as head of the Church was incarnate in the person before him. . But instead of a warning, he kissed the Southern Italian "Don Gallo" on the hand (to Don Gallo see the report Don Gallo, the Priest who Denied Almost Everything - Goes to the Grave in Scandal ).
An Ideological Christianity
Don Michele De Paolis is almost a cliché of priests, who would be expected behind the title he has chosen for his book. The "inconvenient" priest violates the unmistakable identifying feature of rules and dogmas and floats within the Church "usually against the current." De Paolis who came from a wealthy family (born 1921) is described by friends as an "extremely complex" personality. When the war ended, he entered the Salesian order, was several years in the mission to Central America, moved politically far to the left and made liberation theology his own. He had a predisposition to it which he brought already from Europe.
Everything happens on an interpersonal level, from, is socially motivated, the "enemy is right" and so one never quite knows whether there is a priest, a social worker or a political activist before him. Whether it is abortion, euthanasia and homosexuality he has an "authentic answer, not hiding behind the dogmas," as it says in a review of his book.
The decisive factor is that even among his own, he just always clearly knows that he does not belong, so one distances oneself. Here is the "free", undogmatic, human, "true", "prophetic" do-it-yourself Church, there the dark, dogmatic, Inhuman, obsessed with gaining power official Church. It is the adaptation of the Marxist view of the constantly angry workers against the exploitation by capital. It is the world of the "authentic man" who is constantly angry with the "injustice" in the world. What is "unfair", coincides again with the Marxist world view. Any doubt is entitled, according to Don Michele and requires a response. At the same time he adds in a dialectical circular argument: "None of us has the truth."
The secular-anti-clerical "Credo" by Don Michele
On his Facebook page, can be found his personal "Credo" of the elderly, but tireless (No pasaran) Priest: "I feel secular, as a humble believer, always looking for a willing, unselfish, in selfless service in the Christian, community and society, on the side of the last. I feel anticlerical, that is of belonging to no caste, any category; I do not feel as an official religion. I try to give people peace and joy that is located in the most dramatic situations of existence: infidels, unchurched, divorced, on the way to an abortion, homosexuals, desperate, the variety of the marginalized. Seeking the light of the Gospel in the Church on controversial issues, such as the celibacy of priests, women priests, pedophilia, disease and the end of life." Not only homosexuality, but also pedophilia?
Among the favorites of the secular anti-clerical priest is the atheist Eugenio Scalfari, who gives the path to a march outside of the Church in politics and culture on the Apennine Peninsula.
The Church's Position on Homosexuality is "Maximum Hypocrisy"
In 2010 Don Michele De Paolis founded along with "respectful atheists", homosexuals and Gabriele Scalfarotto a gay group AGeDO (Faith and Homosexuality). Scalfarotto is a "tough campaigner in the battle for the rights of LGBT people." Don Michele is with him to fight this battle and win," said the LGBT group Christians of Palermo. On homosexuality and homosexuals these priests of the left has clear ideas: "Today the Church's attitude to homosexuals is strict, inhuman and has caused much suffering by claiming that homosexuality is sin. Some church people say, 'It is acceptable to be gay, but they must not have any relationships, they can not love each other'! The maximum is hypocrisy. This is like talking to a plant, and saying, you can not bloom, you may not bear fruit.' That already is against nature!" Said the priest in an interview with the LGBT group Bethel of Genoa.
"Not Everyone in the Church Suffers from Homophobia"
Don Michele De Paolis is a "fighter against all the prejudices that must be eradicated from the minds and hearts of many people he meets along the way as a priest. That is the least that anyone can do every day, whether it is religious or not religious, says Don Michele." And anyway, says De Paolis, in the "holy Church of God, not everyone is suffering from homophobia." Therefore, the priest wrote in an article for the LGBT group from Lecce: "Those who want to make you 'heterosexuals', as it is called, would be force you to act contrary to nature and to make you unhappy psychopaths. We need to put into our heads that God our Father wants us, his children, to be happy, by making fruitful the gifts that He has placed us in our 'nature'! (...) You have the right to go looking for a partner. And be quite unconcerned: where agape is, is God. Live your love with joy. And with our mother Church we must have patience. Her attitude to homosexuals will change. In this sense numerous initiatives have already been engaged. "
Danger of "Fundamentalism": "Not to Take Literally What is in The Bible"
In another essay, De Paolis wrote in connection with homosexuality: "We must liberate our thinking from a risk: fundamentalism, that is, to take literally what the Bible says. The new obedience to the gospel is free, responsible and conscious. Instead of wasting energy in endless religious polemics, it aims to a new Christian spirituality of joyful acceptance of yourself forming gratitude to God, knowing that homosexual love is His gift, which is not less than the heterosexual. "
Pope Francis kissed the anarcho priest's hand. What did he mean by that?

Well, Ladies and Gentlemen, there you have it!
Elvis has definitely left the building.
I wish I had not read this. I have never been so confused.

Please God help us-it's torture...who is this man and what is he doing to our Church?

You want to be more confused? Read Kasper's recent Commonweal interview.
No one here has heard of bacciamanos? It's a sign of respect for a priest's consecrated hands.

If this priest were from the FI and a Traditionalist, I doubt there would have been a publicity event like this.
If you know the Traditional Roman Catholic Faith (as we have to distinguish it now from the protestant pantheistic neo-catholic post-conciliar liberal modernist version) then you will keep The Faith.
God will not do this because this is the end of time as we know it. The Church has become a seat of error and anti-Christ. the freemasons & talmudic jews are controlling it increasingly. These are often one and the same. The neo-catholic post-conciliar church is pantheistic and judaeophile. Liberal mmodernists dislike tradition unless they can manipulate it to serve modernism - Pope Benedict XVI was excellent at this. He certainly had many traditional Catholics fooled.
O.o
At what point is it ok to join the SSPX? I'm a guy in my early 20's and have had about as much as I can take of the Church and this pope. It's gotten to the point where it's either the SSPX, Orthodox, or stop going all together.
Randy Engel´s "Open letter to Pope Francis" which asked for " a Papal Commission of Inquiry into Homosexuality, Pederasty and La Lobby Gay in The Catholic Church" never got an answer.

Instead he had the time to receive a priest who hates Catholic moral and dogma is celebrated by Italian LGTB-groups.
This is really quite worrying. What does this mean for the Church?
This priest is an apostate and enemy of the Faith and morals. He should have been laicised long ago. How can he offer the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass when he is publicly opposed to the fundamentals of the deposit of the Faith. And the Pope concelebrating with him - terrible. This is mockery of Our Lord God. And the holy, orthodox religious and clergy are persecuted.
It has always been ok to join the SSPX! I would recommend it.
@LeonG
Bingo! You are correct! Every word!
I don't want to see any more of this hysterical unsubstantiated foldorol.
100% agree. The TLM parish is the fox hole in this war.
Woody
Wow. They are getting too close to the edge!
Woody
To be honest, I agree with LeonG. Um, I'm just gonna have to sit on the edge next to him.... Hope I won't fall off... :-)
Dear Anonymous @2.25 pm. No don't do that. Just believe in Jesus. I think he wills the current state of the Church. Perhaps we had become undeserving to have the Mass of Ages. I think we're on the Cross when Jesus said "My God, why have you forsaken me". It's the End Times and I think we're being sorted by the angels, wheat and chaff, sheep and goats. God Bless.
Most people who style themselves as prophets are either charlatans or mad.
This Pope is blessed.
I see that most of the fanatics who used to comment on Rorate Caeli's blog have found another blog where to vent their hate towards the Pope.
Bunch of hypocrites you should all go the Schismatic SSPX.
You are not Catholics you belong to the church in Econe.
To the author of this blog stop this attack against the Pope the Church will not go back to what it was in the Middle Ages because we are not in the Middle Ages and it cannot go back to before Vatican II because the Council even though it was Pastoral was a valid Council of the Church.
So go ahead and beat your heads against the wall things won't go back to how they were.
You are only spitting venom against the Church and the Pope you cannot served two masters or follow two Churches or you are with the Catholic Church or you against her and belong to the church in Econe.
But you cannot served 2 masters.
BUNCH OF FANATICS.
YOU TALK ABOUT THE PHARISEES?
YOU ARE JUST LIKE THEM!!!

You have lost all reason and are ruled by your emotions. What's at issue are objective moral acts of the Pope in the public arena. It is wrong not to speak out against gravely scandalous acts that put the souls of countless people in danger. The Catholic Faith is reasonable - we do not jettison reason as Catholics who uphold the unchanging and unchangeable Deposit of Faith, and morals. The Catholic Faith is as real as the God who gave it us for our salvation - it is not subject to the ideological trends of a particular time, no matter how dominant they may have become. The Faith has unchanging substantive content - and is to change the world, not be changed by the world. Without truth there is no love.

Bergoglio is as Bergoglio does.
Uhm....... you sound pretty fanatical.
Did someone offend your papal-god? Is your papal-god completely infallible in everything he says and does and believes? Does your papal-god have the power to change any and all doctrine at will and to reinterpret Scripture at his own discretion?
Does your papal-god have any weaknesses or limitations in your opinion?
Is your papal-god the Church?
We all are.
More hysterical blather.
Lynda go take your medication it is obvious you suffer from paranoia.

The Pope is NOT my papal-god and I don't think is infallible.
I am not as stupid as you.
But whether you like it or not Francis is the Pope and not bishop Fellay.
I am not as stupid as you.
You Neocons are so Christian.
We know Francis is the Pope Anonymous - that's the problem...
Why the personal attacks on people?
Most sincerely .- a prayer for you in particular and all here at Holy Mass this morning!

I am seriously disturbed by what's happening in the Vatican a, the Church world-wide and by MANY things this Pope has said and done ...that contradict 2000 years of Catholic Tradition..the Pope is not above tradition ...and he can't go around dismantlling things on his own whims without confusing a lot of people - the Pope is supposed to be the ROCK - and I pray for him everyday...
I wonder if you truly want to have a discussion or just want to call people names because they don't fit into your idea of things ...
Barbara
IS THERE A GRASSROOTS MOVEMENT AMONG TRADITIOAL./FAITHFUL CATHOLICS TO PRESSURE THIS POPE FRANCIS TO RESIGN.
THERE SHOULD BE.
ANYONE WANT TO START A PETITION??
You people don't even take Sundays off with your contemptible mudslinging
I am not a prophet or a charlattan - I have been a Roman Catholic all my life with a very profound experience of the church, its liberal modernist behaviours of its priests and other religious within over a long period. I also read the signs of the times which we are asked to do in The Holy Scriptures. We have authentic prophecies and visions already accredited by the church itself, in better times. I would never dare place myself in their place. I am just an ordinary person.
The end times are extended times of suffering and chastisement. We also expect the church to be leading people astray in those times. We have itching ears and a society in which good is seen as evil and evil as good which is also substantiated by the church too. There is no more missionary work to speak of as the church is advocating pantheism in effect. Read Prophet Daniel and his times as well as his prophecy for the end times. We today also witness abomination of desolation in the Holy Places. There are similar liturgical practices today as then.
I shall probably be dead before we arrive at the Second Coming but surely it will come and when ever. In the meantime, I shall continue to practice The Faith as it was handed down to me and pray for conversions as Our Blessed Lady has asked us to do.
I am certainly no lunatic, nor a seer but just an ordinary person who has seen much, read plenty and tries to make sense of a church that has betrayed 1965 years of its past in order to get fornicate with the secular world and its false promises. the results can only be interpreted as signs of end times, however long they take to conclude. That, no one knows the time nor the place because only the Father in Heaven knows this, is the ultimate truth with regard to the final moment. But we must be prepared as Our Blessed Lord instructs us.
The enemy of the church as described by Pope St Pius X, is not only within as he recognised but is now in control. In Pascendi Dominici Gregis he called it liberal modernism. It is these very same people who are running the church and deconstructing The faith putting a new paradigm in its place. The new model is anti-Catholic. Indeed, it is therefore anti-Christ.because it relativises Him and turns Him into an indifferent figure who is no higher than any other "prophet" or visionary. Society, aided and abetted by the modernist church has dethroned Him replacing him with Man. Paul VI did this in the Un formally and his successors have done the rest exploiting ecumenism and interconfessionalism. religious Liberty and primacy of conscience have replaced the Faith as the guiding principle and this has reduced the church to an impotent relative position. With satanism on an exponential increase as the church disappears from one place after another and in heart after another, we are already in difficult times which are getting worse by the week.
Only a mad person could deny this.
On the contrary, Francis I is pope, whether we like him or not. However, he merits our prayers and supplications because he desperately needs them.
Fr. Don De Paolis sounds like a genuine 100% FOOL.
That Pope Francis would kiss his hand is therefore entirely unsurprising.
Exactly Leon, the Church is not a democracy nor should it be. Prayers and sacrifices for the benefit of the Church are all we can OR SHOULD do. Daily mass if possible.
Or if you go
both ways...
Just follow
Maradiaga!
Yes, let's start a petition! Like every other group of nuts, wackos and creeps on the internet, left, right or center. That will really remove any doubt from the mind of Pope Francis that "trads" should be cleansed from the Church.
LeonG is pretty much correct in his appraisal of the current state of the Church. However, in my humble opinion we are not approaching 'The End Times' but merely the end of an epoch in history. The signs are obvious and everywhere, but it will take some historical event to signal the transition to a new period of history. Sometimes artists and writers tell us what is happening by way of allegory. For example the movie 'The Mission' was a definite allegory of current events in Europe. In effect those who control the Vatican used it as a means to 'pull the plug' on the spiritual force that had sustained Europe for 1700 years.
Once a Waldensian challenged Francis on his unshakeable reverence for priests, by pointing out the local pastor who was living in sin. "Must we believe in his teaching and respect the sacraments he performs?"
In response, Francis went to the priest's home and knelt before him saying, "I don't know whether these hands are stained as the other man says they are. [But] I do know that even if they are, that in no way lessens the power and effectiveness of the sacraments of God... That is why I kiss these hands out of respect for what they perform and out of respect for Him who gave His authority to them." His challenger left in silence.

He his the biblical False Prophet and he is hell bent on destroying the Catholic Church, so that the Antichrist can reign, as written in the Book of Revelation. God help us!
I wonder if the priest felt reinforced in his lechery by Francis, or whether the Waldensian would have been more or less edified by Pope Francis' present example?
I see that Mark Shea has attacked this article in his internet cat litter liner CAEI. Because he's soooo touchy about sodomites, I'm beginning to wonder if he's queer, or whether somebody close to him is.
I think Mark Shea is just charitable. Michael Voris (of all people) has a remarkably gracious and charitable video about gay Catholics - it doesn't follow he's one himself, and he's probably closer to being a Traditional Catholic than Mark Shea is.
What does CAEI stand for, BTW ?
Don Michele, regardless of his personal character, is a Catholic priest. That by itself is sufficient reason for the Pope to act as he did.
Mark Shea charitable?! You're kidding, right? The man has the most nasty, filthy mouth in the blogsphere.
He's often wrong about a lot of things.
The only reason Shea exists is to vilify faithful Catholics. I've never known him to be charitable.
Has Francis reprimanded Don Michelle? Has he caused a visitation of Don Michelle's Pro-Sodomite organization?
Not to date that we know.
Compared to some, Shea is a model of restraint and charity. Yes, he can be very critical of Traditionalists - but what is wrong with that ? Sometimes Traditionalists deserve a bit of unfavourable comment - just like anyone else. The good (or bad) is not all on one side - is it ever ? Maybe we can learn from the criticisms, just or unjust, that Shea and others make of Traditionalists & Traditionalitism, & maybe they can learn from us. Even if we never persuade each other of the rightness of our POVs, that could something to less the faction-fighting there is in the Church (which is Christ's - not man's, ever).
We can reject criticism out of hand - or we can treat it as something that may be something we need to hear, and that we should be grateful for. Those who criticise us, can do a great deal toward helping us grow in grace, if we only take their criticisms in that way. Is that how Traditionalists treat criticisms of themselves, or of what they hold dear, or of their faults ?
Talking about a Pope, or any other Catholic priest, as harshly and disrespectfully as some Traditionalists sometimes do, is not going to impress people like Shea favourably - or severer critics of Traditionalism - as gracious. And no wonder.
Shea is not in a position to be a visitor of Don Michele's organisation, any more than Michael Voris is, or the owner of the weblog is.
And before someone brings up "holy anger" as a defence or a justification for some sorts of Traditionalist criticism of priests or Popes, I think that defence would be more impressive if Traditionalists had a reputation for gentleness, charity, graciousness, readiness to hear the other side, and willingness to avoid thinking evil if something we think evil can be better interpreted as not evil. But that is not how Traditionalists are perceived - we're perceived as grouchy malcontents who take pleasure in vilifying the Pope and the Church. As some of the comments already made show. Surely that is not a good sign ?
But what is the good of being Traditional, or orthodox, or orthopractic, if in the process we lack charity ? If we lack charity, we are nothing (according to St Paul, who ought to know), and Traditionalism is nothing.
It's not just his lack of charity, but his lack of honesty, sincerity, good will and dirty mouth. It's a scandal that he continues to be associated with EWTN or the Catholic Church in any way, but as anyone who's paying attention can see, the people in charge don't want charity, good will, honesty and patience.
He's a bad person.
Please your urgent prayers for a good soul that has suffered immensely morally and physically, all consequences of modernist priests, who crucify this soul. It is so weak and slaughtered this soul fears to commit suicide, but it struggles with its last forces against this temptation
The homosexuality issue aside, in the 12th century, St Malachy, then the bishop of Armagh in what is now Northern Ireland prophesied that there would be a pope named Pius followed by a pope who was a fisherman after which there would be five more popes and then Rome would end. The seat of the Roman Catholic Church is often referred to as “Rome” and has been since at least the 5th century, in part to distinguish it from the Orthodox churches that separated from the original Catholic church.
Pius XII was followed by John XXIII (a fisherman) who was followed by Paul VI, John Paul I, John Paul II, Benedict XVI and Francis I.
Francis was hailed as one who would strengthen the church and unite her again. However, it appears he suffers from the same malady that affects most Jesuits as well as Barack Obama (and Hillary Clinton) – a mammoth ego, total lack of genuine humility and a desire to be perceived as godlike. Rather than lead his flock, he is nudging them over a cliff. Obviously, he didn’t take his name from Francis of Assisi but from another St Francis… perhaps Francis Xavier, co-founder of the Jesuit order.
I had great hopes that Francis would reunite the Christian churches, all of which had their origins in the Church of Rome... Now I no longer believe I will live to see it.
