(Abuja) Ignatius Kaigama, the Archbishop of Jos and President of the Nigerian Bishops' Conference responded to the European criticism of Nigeria and defended the support for the new federal law against "gay marriage". Last January, the Bishops thanked President Goodluck Jonathan for the new law for the protection of marriage and against "gay marriage". Since then, the Church of Nigeria has been in the crossfire of criticism. And for many a western Church leader, it is embarrassing to have to defend it.
Values of the Bible Can Never be Discrimination
Archbishop Kaigama stressed that the position of the Church in Nigeria corresponds exactly to the teaching of the Catholic Church. He said, "We defend the moral values of the Bible, the tradition of the Nigerian people." "The defense of the moral value of the Bible can never be discrimination," said the chairman of the Bishops' Conference of the most populous African country.
The archbishop also criticized the one-sidedness of the West, "though always with you when it comes to the so-called gay rights in Nigeria" you run, but to the ongoing terror attacks by the Islamic militia Boko Haram you only stammer. "Constantly new violence, burned and mutilated bodies, women and children who are killed in a terrible rhythm: this is the emergency afflicting our country," but nothing from Europe on this. But for "gay rights" the EU, the European Parliament and other international institutions will mobilize.
"Even women Who Can not Read, Use the Morning After Pill From the Westl"
"In all the villages of Nigeria, there are women who have no education and girls who do not attend school. They can not read or write, but they have the morning after pill . When they are questioned, they know which pill they have when to take abort. How can that be? Who tells them that and gives them the morning after pill, pushing it into her hand? It is the western governmental and non-governmental organizations that impose their ideas on us. And these 'values' mean birth control. This is worth much money and effort from the West. And why do they do that? To ensure that our government gets international economic aid, they must accept this Western policy. But that is called coercion. A culture and a mentality is imposed that is not ours, for we Nigerians not despise life." They attempt this by way of an ideological indoctrination but specifically from the outside to manipulate the minds of the people in Nigeria.
"We Won't Give in to the West Just Because it Has Money to Blackmail Us"
To the law against "gay marriage" said Archbishop Kaigama: "We say very clearly: We don't hate anybody. We respect homosexuals as people, and we support them when their rights are violated as a human beings. The Church has there then and defends them. But we also say quite clearly that homosexual acts are contrary to nature. They flatly contradict what we defend. Powerful organizations who blackmail our government would like us to legalize gay marriage. And when they say that there are occasional homosexual tendencies in Africa, we say quite clearly that they are aberrations. We respect the dignity of marriage between a man and a woman. We will not give in to the West, just because it has money with which it can put pressure on us," said Archbishop Ignatius Kaigama of Jos.

A true shepherd! How desperately we need more like him and not more of the ones that say 'bravo' to sodomy.
ReplyDeleteThank you Archbishop Jos for speaking truth to power.

ReplyDeleteAn Archbishop from Africa who makes the pope look like a recusant or perhaps the Archbishop is obsessed? The western Latin(less) Rite Church resembles a sham organisation doddering around pretending to look modern and behaving as though they are embarrassed by Our Blessed Lord's Gospel and Almighty God's directives.
ReplyDeleteWe do not hate homosexuals; we support them in their right to live without being persecuted but we do not support gay marriage or the act of sodomy. Here we have it - the EU, USA and UK are so busy destabilising other countries with the help of the UN that they show themselves up for what they are. They hate Christianity and its values and will back anyone, even their own worst enemies to dethrone The Lord. The problem is that church leaders in the west are moral cowards - no more and no less.
The older I get, the more I realize how phoney everything is on this mortal coil. Lee Atwater was right, the only thing that is "real" is professional wrestling-it is so fake that it is real. Some Bishop in the third world is speaking about against faggotry-big deal. The powers that be have completely demoralized the west allow third world Bishops to speak "truth to power" to traditionalists in the west. This seems as phoney to me as neo-con jews who pretend to love evangelical Christians.
ReplyDeleteMost Cardinals should be thrown out of the college apart from Africans and Asians. Why are there so many American cardinals for example? A complete waste of time as these men are so compromised politically by their environment. This African dude has nailed the hypocrisy of the West.
ReplyDeleteThough pleased with what the Archbishop said he has walked head first into a trap that will used against him. Among the things he said was "we do not discriminate against those who have a biological homosexual orientation". There is the trap: the two words, "biological" and "orientation". It is in the acceptance of those two false ideas which have given the sodomites their greatest victories.
ReplyDeleteTo suggest that a person is biologically wired to commit hideous mortal sins is not only to make a mockery of the words of God Himself, but is patently ridiculous on its face. It is the old "born that way" mantra resurfacing, and it is a tragedy that this Archbishop does not see that. On the other hand it could be that he has swallowed this absurdity in which case we really do need to pray for him because once the forces of evil can convince him in his mind and heart that people are merely born sodomites he will eventually cave in to the zeitgeist.
The word "orientation" is the evil twin of the above false idea and feeds upon it and expands it. The most brilliant, far-reaching and devastatingly effective brainstorm of the satanic forces was to come up with this idea that we have an "orientation" to commit buggery. Never mind about sinning by thought, word or deed; never mind what Christ said about those who commit adultery "in their hearts". All of that was swept away by the adoption of the "sexual orientation" idea, and even a number of high Church dignitaries have accepted this. It is their acceptance which has strangled in the crib all serious talk about mortal sin and its effects.
So the Archbishop said some fine things...yet he is walking into a trap that will one day snap and entangle him.
The most telling thing for me is the fact that the archbishop isn't upset by the fact that the women of Nigeria aren't educated and that the girls aren't in school. He isn't concerned about the ignorance of his flock, but that they have access to abortion pills. How about this.. encouraging women to become educated and delay marriage. I'm not seeing a concern for the women of Nigeria, but a desire to make sure that women remain illiterate and submissive.
ReplyDeleteIt was clear that he was pointing out the hypocrisy of the West in regards to striving to provide birth control yet ignoring the educational needs of the people.
DeleteTo Anonymous @ March 23, 2014 at 4:23 PM...It seems the West is not overly concerned about education of the women in Nigeria either, only to assure they are successful in their abortions. I have much more leeway with a resident Bishop and his efforts toward his constituency than I do with outside influences who desire to spread a political agenda.
ReplyDeleteAged parent, you speak the truth. The terminology imposed is replete with false premises. Evil ideologues abuse language to confuse and deaden reason. One ought not accept false terminology.
