Edit: got these photos sent from a German site et nunc. These photos suggest a powerful connection between a rather jovial Capuchin Father Volpi (Fox) as he appears with the Holy Father after striking a deal to initiate the process against the Franciscans of the Immaculate. Could this be the children of Godspell's last hurrah, or is it just another in a continuance of steps in the Anschluss against Catholicism by its supposed guardians?
The decisions have been made:
The new emerging order of the Franciscans of the Immaculate , an order according to the heart of Pope Benedict XVI, is being crushed..
We must be aware that this is the decision of the Pope Francis.
He makes it clear once again what he thinks of the 2000 year old tradition of the Church, especially of the traditional theology and liturgy.
As Giuseppe Nardi's correspondent writes to Katholisches.net: "The novices and seminarians are disoriented, the brothers in perpetual vows are destroyed by agony."
Here's some coverage from Remanant's Dungeon. Basically, they acknowledge the Pope's complicity and add their voices to calls to have Father Volpi fired from his position as Apostolic Commissioner. Matt's right about a few things, one being prayer:

What began all of the persecution was the decision by the FI to translate and publish Gherardini's book on the Second Vatican Council.

I do not see a fox. I only see two snakes.
It just keeps getting worse. But there will be a 'new' Franciscans of the Immaculate according to the modernist bent coming next year is my guess. But most of the friars will be gone.
Recall or note these words of Benedict at the start of his papacy

In case readers don't know, these friars publish youtube videos. This is an interesting video published today:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Of1IuKPH7k&feature=c4-overview&list=UUFdACNbusRGZ6nuxVQ1K1NA
Listening to this video gave me the impression that "crypto-lefebrvian" is a misleading calumny since this Priest doesn't seem to have any problem with the NO missae per se - so why are they being called "crypto-lefebvrians"? Is it merely because they have a real charism within the mainstream church that the status quo clown mass contingent is threatened by? They are being tarred with the schismatic brush because they are viewed as a source of potential resistance within the mainstream church to the Pope's radical plans?
Thank goodness for this! I was beginning to get concerned about these two fine Catholic journalists a couple of weeks ago. We need men like them to tell the world EXACTLY what's going on..which is nothing other than.the total metamorphosis of Catholicism...bit by bit with accelerating fits and starts like this one ...every day I feel more and more extraneous to this post conciliar Church which reveals itself each day to be less and less of God...cannot be trusted.
They are on my prayer list at Adoration every Thursday.

Has no one wondered if their punishment is from God for accepting compromises and doin' the novus ordo boogie?
“The work of the devil will infiltrate even into the Church in such a way that one will see cardinals opposing cardinals, bishops against bishops. The priests who venerate Me will be scorned and opposed by their confreres … churches and altars sacked; the Church will be full of those who accept compromises and the demon will press many priests and consecrated souls to leave the service of the Lord.”
Volpi seems to have done very little fasting in his Franciscan career.
I can't put into words how much I can't stand Pope Francis, or his agenda.
I know, Anonymous. I know. It is a terrible thing that a pope do this much evil (wittingly or not) and scandalize the Faithful and make them struggle with the feelings it evokes inside them. I recall a stern caution about such a thing happening. Something about a millstone around the neck.
This arbitrary suppression, persecution and calumny of the FFI members must be causing God's wrath to be brought down upon the Church.
Here's a reminder.

Wednesday, June 16, 2010 "The Ecumenical Vatican Council II: A Much Needed Discussion" Msgr. Brunero Gherardini
Translated by the Franciscans of the Immaculate, From the Italian edition of March 25, 2009.
This volume is available from the "Academy of the Immaculate," 124 North Forke, Advance, NC 27006. Ph. 1-888-906-2742.
I wonder if it's still available from that address. Doubt it!
Check Rorate Caeli, the Sisters of the FoI are fighting back.
Yeah, Nardi already did a story touching on that last week when he reported on Doctor de Matthei's recent statement, but thanks much!
Whoa, this is on an entirely different order, you're definitely right! I'd heard Volpi complaining about them earlier and demanding to have authority over them, but this is impressive indeed. Thanks again for keeping me informed.

A Capuchin and a Jesuit conspiring to destroy Franciscans? I'm not surprised.
1. Franciscan authorities persecuted the first Capuchins who were originally Franciscans. Two of the founders eventually left their own new order: Matteo Serafini of Bascio (Matteo Bassi) to return to the Franciscans, while his first companion became so insubordinate that he had to be expelled from the Order. the third Vicar General, Bernardino Ochino, left the Catholic faith in 1543 after fleeing to Switzerland, where he was welcomed by John Calvin, became a Calvinist pastor in Zurich and married. Years later, claims that he had written in favor of polygamy and Unitarianism caused him to be exiled from that city and he fled again, first to Poland and then to Slovakia, where he died.
2. Jesuits and their infamous suppression by a Franciscan pope. Everyone knows about the Jesuits.
But I'm not necessarily linking this particular situation with some act of centuries-old inter-order vendetta. Those Jesuits were different men from Jesuits now. And those Capuchins were different from Capuchins now. Certainly, Franciscans then were different from Franciscans now.
Just some interesting coincidences, I suppose.
