Edit: don’t forget that the Scottish Cardinal was exposed by other aberrosexuals among his priests, who were apparently outraged by the otherwise Old Liberal Cardinal’s statements against the evils of that sin.
These priests don’t sound like victims, they sound like willing participants who decided to discredit the Cardinal long after the fact of their interaction. If this is the case, they should resign.
Also recall this in relation to Father Dariusz Oko’s ongoing research about a satanic lavender mafia working behind the scenes.

We need an Inquisition on this Devilish Aberration. No apologies to the World.
Two of my cousins left the seminary because of intimidation by groups of sods or the so-called lavender mafia. It took decades before they were willing to talk about it. The leaked report from the Miami Diocese about their seminary being called a "feminary" was the topic of conversation that led them to discuss it. Their seminary experiences were not in the Miami seminary in that report but their experiences were similar unfortunately.
This cancer must be removed from the Church or the damage will only become greater.
My brothers wife's brother was a victim of priestly sexual abuse, a real one age 14. He didn't sue. He went forward into dissipation. He was on a wrong path before this but with proper concern and guidance which was what was supposed
to be the course where he was sent, things might have turned out different(ly). It was the early 1970's at a place
that had for many years noted and respected for it's good work for boys.
Well, it appears - if the report is accurate - that the homo priests made an example of their Cardinal as a warning to other prelates who might think about teaching CAtholic morals.
It might explain quite a bit about why certain Bishops/Cardinals are not cleaning house.
aged parent, That theory alas seems all too realistic.
The Cardinal was taken down as a message sent to the rest of the Conclave to obey orders for the election or else they too will be exposed. Message sent message received.
I know this Cardinal was quite a Liberal, not a friend of Tradition, perhaps he believed he couldn’t afford to be, who knows, but at some point he decided to do the right thing. I pray more men like him brave the slings and arrows of such recriminations and attempt to do the right thing as he did.
Note that Damian Thompson was quick to jump on the dog pile:

Yes, there are many systemic problems in our church, there has always existed sin within the church but the church also has a history of great deeds and progressive thought and service. I find it interesting to wonder and speculate about two things concerning Cardinal OBrien,... First, he left Scotland for a period of reflection, prayer, penance. After his resignation was announced, he was able to retain the title of Bishop but has given up the responsibilities of that position. One may note, this does not mean these responsibilities could reinstated, because they could be. It appears evident, the pope was sending a message to OBrien of both discipline and hope because, given his retention of the Title of Cardinal, he is being told his vocation is not over, just different. I feel bad for this man knowing the scandal destroyed a lifelong career, his reputation, and erased anything good he may have done. He shall have much time to think and I hope he does not wallow in guilt but ask how he is to now serve Christ. My prediction is he will be in shock to start with and he shall pass through many stages of acceptance. We must support him in prayer and deed for he is facing a time in the wilderness but he will emerge with great personal insights learned through unbearable pain and humiliation. If nothing else, he shall learn what is important in life and will, through prayer and love, come to love himself and see himself as God sees him. If we all commit to pray for him and love him we can see a transformation. Surely a transformed heart is better than slamming and swinging at this man who already knows , fells, and lives rejection. Look at St. Francis or Augustine prior to their deep transformational conversion... we can all grow. I think we shall, in God's time, that he does become a new creation and puts on the armour of God. He will gain new insights and lessons concerning sexuality, for himself and for us. There have always been gay men in the clergy and we need to look deeper into this and not just utter shallow questions related to the sexual act but also as sexuality, in general, relates to our-self identity as human persons. Maybe we need to ask, "Why is God sending us so many Gay Priests?" We know, from the Bishop's commissioned called the "Jay report" found that gay priests were no more likely than heterosexual priests to commit the crimes of pedophilia - this is not a correlation. In fact, gay priests have most lived out their vocation in an admirable fashion and with great service or controversy. The issue of gay rights has erupted in all Western Christian churches of all denominations. It is a discussion in society and erupting in our courts and legislatures. For these reasons and more, we as persons everywhere are having these issues in the forefront that deserves investigation, dialogue, investigating new viewpoints, theologies, science, biblical exegesesis all of which challenges traditional christian thought and practice. As Catholics we do have rich theological , philosophical, historical and spiritual practices that are richly challenging. I wonder if we only fight about this issues or do we meet the challenge to listen, engage, challenge and really give issues deep thought and prayer.... As discernment it is "love", also known as God, is an ethos that we can perceive and thus use as an instrument of spiritual discernment. Simply put, if the answers provided do not reek with the glorious experience of God's love, do not do it. five years olds know this rule but us Theologians and believers often forget this rule and the understanding that the best theology starts on one's knees. So, I lift to God, for the benefit of Cardinal OBrien, that we be filled with love and compassion rather than condemnation. Lord, help us to walk in love and humility and fill the life of Cardinal O'Brien with a deep experience of your love
