The six Catholic bishops of Aleppo have called for ending the bloody conflict in Syria in an urgent message to Pope Benedict XVI.
Aleppo / Beirut (kath.net / KNA) Six Catholic bishops of Aleppo have called for ending the bloody conflict in Syria. In a message to Pope Benedict XVI. on the 24th of September, who is currently on his travel abroad in Lebanon, they ask the head of the church to demand from the international community a peaceful solution for Syria. The current conflict is destroying the country and bringing poverty and despair to the people.
For more than two months, the city is located in the center of the fighting between the Syrian army and armed opposition groups, say the Catholic bishops of Aleppo. In this situation, we have refrained from participating in the Pope's Lebanon-visit and to remain at the side of the Syrian believers. Benedict XVI. should advocate an end to the fighting on Syrian soil and encourage the parties in a "serious and effective dialogue for national reconciliation" to the heads of state and international organizations. The appeal was signed by a Greek Catholic, Syrian Catholic, Armenian Catholic, Maronite, Chaldean and the Latin bishop of Aleppo. (C) 2012 Subject Catholic News Agency KNA GmbH.

Oremus pro Portifice nostro, that he make a clear, solid condemnation of "religious liberty," which includes the "liberty" for Muslims for kill "infidel" Christians. Peace is only found in the Catholic religion.
Amen to that, Alan.
Peace is only found once the consecration of Russia is done as Our Lady requested, not before then...
True about the Consecration. That does NOT however mean that the pope should not be proclaiming the truth about religious freedom.
Dear Alan:
Much of what you say is good - as long as you understand who it is behind these monstrosities in Syria as in other regions of the Middle East. The Syrian revolutionaries are being organized, trained, financed and promoted by the USA, Israel, France, England and possibly Germany. And, as ever always, the black hand of International Finance is not too hard to discern in all this.
These are the idiots who are stirring up the Moslems and it is always important to remember who benefits. I am often bemused by those who quite rightly point out their disgust at the killing of Christians at the hands of the Moslems but never seem to point out who it is that has been provoking them for 70+ years. Recall that every Arab nation was a friend of the USA until about 1948. Then do recall what happened in 1948 to Palestine. It was occupied by Eastern European and US Jews who began the ethnic cleansing of Arabs, Moslem AND CHRISTIAN, and have been treating these people with total injustice ever since...while the USA, under the complete and near-total control of the Israeli lobby, supports the illegal occupiers. That is why there are troubles in the Holy Land. The Israelis, who detest Christians (they don't detest their money), are happy to let the Muslims they have stirred up murder Christians. Never forget that they have a long experience of getting others to do their dirty work for them, whether it be the USA, the Muslims or Pontius Pilate.
Regarding the article itself, I am afraid I am just too pessimistic about this Pope to believe that he will actually say what has to be said. He is simply too terrified of the media.
Rightly said!!!!
Blindness is so vast nowadays. Pray for the Holy Father much and make sacrifices!
Spot on....There is a huge confusion and lack of one time solution for so many intertwined problems. Consecration of Russia would certainly suffice it all but also remember that Satan walks right behind the pope. May God defend our Church and especially the Holy Father. Not so many people consider what circumstances accompany most of the situations that Pope finds himself in. There was no media 80 years ago. And now one word can affect many things.
