Egypt: Parliament Considers the Expulsion of the Copts
A Parliamentary committee desires to attempt the expulsion of eight Coptic Families from their home village Sharbat near Alexandria.
Frankfurt-Cairo (kath.net/KAP) The Egyptian Parliament has, according to reports by the human rights organization IGFM, a fact finding committee is prepared to expel Coptic Christians. AS the International Community for Human Rights explained on Thursday, the Parliamentary Committee has proposed the explusion of eight Coptic families from their home village Sharbat near Alexandria. The families have received the notice that they will be forced to leave their homes by the police and the village elders, since their safety can longer be guaranteed anymore.
For months encroachments against the Christian minority have increased in this Muslim land. According to IGMF, the proposed investigation has particular importance, because it anticipates also the future Parliament's conduct in its orientation regarding conflicts between religions.

Perhaps the USA should start closing Mosques, one for each Christian Family "expelled" or Molested anywhere in the Islamic world. Just a thought about the Religion of peace...
ReplyDeleteBut realistically, what are the chances of that happening in the USA? Obvious answer is none. So let us pray harder and contribute what we can to defend any Christian being oppressed in Egypt.
ReplyDeleteBut I thought democracy and freedom magically lead to peace and justice? George W. told us so.
ReplyDeletethe community of a village near Alex. decided to make two muslim families and five coptic families to leave their villages after a fight broke over rumours of relationship between a muslim woman and a christian man the villagers sees that this way they are getting rid of them instead of bloodshed in the village .. parliament is discussing today - Sunday 19th Feb - how to solve the problem and briong the families back to the community ...please check news and understand facts before publishing it..
ReplyDeleteI agree with Salwa:- 'Check, understand facts'. Knee-jerk reactions make matters worse. Copts are, with the help of God and His Blessed Mother, quite capable of dealing with these problems without inputs from well-meaning outsiders. Our prayers, of course, are worthwhile. Maryam (as they call Our Lady)is especially fond of the Copts, and all the other Egyptians too. As a young mother, she found refuge and support among the Egyptians. She unfailingly supports them in times of crisis. She has defused many a ticking bomb! Ahlan wa sahlan, Maryam!
ReplyDeleteHey Anonymous, why don't we just move all the Muslims somewhere else to avoid the violence?
